'The Cyberspace Ball' time for fun&frolic, vent or dance

Buffy stuff. Open to everyone now.

Kajo, great song! Definitely appropriate for the situation. I also would like to thank Amber for her class and sympathy for her fans. At least she knows what W/T meant. And to Aly for gamely plugging on with a show which she had no control over or ability to influence. I'll always remember them from the heights of season 4 and 5.

To all the kittens I say it has been a trying year after the great catastrophe of season sux, but by and large we didn't lose faith or give up and that is a remarkable thing. I am sure that W/T will survive on Pens and the Kitten will live on. Great job Mods, and great job to all that post or lurk here and make this community what it is. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Hello Kittens-

Yes, it's an odd community here at the Kitten, but then that's the only kind that would have me as a member. :)

My thanks to Xita, all the mods, and the thousands (wow!) of Kittens who make this place what it is. :love :flower

I feel kind of like its the end of the Cold War; who do we fight now?:) Seriously though by the simple act of still being here when Buffy is gone we've succeeded, and of course we continue to create new material over on Pens. I'm sure the ME staff would be welcome over there so they could get a clue. :)

Willow: ...I have to tell you....

Tara: No, I understand you have to be with the person you l-love

Willow: I am

Sheridan,

Your post made me laugh out loud. Who do we fight now. I pictured Ash in "Army of Darkness" going "uh, you wanna piece of me?"

Of course I am sitting in class right now, laughing out loud. Not normally a bad thing, but I am supposed to be the instructor.

Lot's of great posts in this thread really.

All the other Buffy sites, boards, lists are spending their day asking "where do we go from here?" That is a question we don't have to ask today. Today for us is no different than any day last week or next week. We go on. We have Pens. We have the Kitten. We have Witches and Vixens.

Maybe we could harness our energy to fighting another cause. There are still other TV shows out there and the cliche is going to show it's ugly head again. We can be to ones to remind people "Buffy was great, till they killed Tara and the show became shit and no one even watched it."

Over at AICN they had their little Buffy finale party :stop

But I did want to post the bit about Amber...

Quote:
Amber Benson is not only a spectacularly gifted actress, vocalist, writer and director, she’s hands-down one of the most charming people I’ve ever met. Despite my appalling luck and organizational skills, she fearlessly chatted with rabid fans and signed autographs for something like an hour, then even climbed the stage with us to draw raffle numbers. She is as close as this planet has come to producing a perfect girl: brave, funny, incredibly sweet-natured and just insanely good-looking. It’s no secret how hot I’ve always found her on “Buffy,” but Amber in person is just jaw-droppingly adorable. Amber, I love you, I will never ask for anything again, and I will relentlessly plug any project you ever work on as long I have a place to plug it. For example? All seven chapters of Amber’s nifty and very animated collaboration with writer Christopher Golden, “Ghosts of Albion,” are still up and running on BBC Online!

Lil' Trevor : Always the life of the party.

That's great song Kajo 2000, but I will pass on the ale though. ;)

Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.

Tara: Willow, I got so lost.

Willow: I found you. I will always find you.

The Rose24: I don't like ale either but I needed to make it rhyme.

Thanks to everyone who commented on the song - glad you liked it.

Hello Kittens-

Boy, I think everyone likes Amber. It's not just Kittens. I think the person who wrote the bit from the AICN finale party is smitten. :)

A couple of fan reports from the AICN Buffy finale party in L.A.:

Quote:
Oddjob: I was at the Buffy AICN bash last night, and after the finale had aired, when I walked into the lobby, both Amber and her mother had just shown up and were looking for Hercules (who organized the event).

Amber was quickly mobbed by fans wanting photos and autographs, but she handled it well, and her mother seemed rather amused by it all.

I did see one or two people with her mother who had VIP passes on so maybe they were the convention organizers in question.

As for other actors who showed up, it was James C. Leary (Clem) and the actress who played "The Littlest Slayer" (the baseball player) in the finale. So Amber wasn't the only actor there.

Quote:
Trance Rat Spooky: "Mobbed" is a toned-down word to use to describe that crowd. Security had to yell out twice for peeps to step back. But, from what I could see (which wasn't much as I was chillin' on the couch with my friend), yeah, she handled it well. Go Amber.

BTW, nothing like watching the finale ep and having to sit next to the guy who shouted out "YE-ES" when Buffy got stabbed and the room was at its quietest after that scene.

so I guess there wasn't a big party at Joss's for the final ep?

Heck I'm sure glad amber and her mom got to enjoy - the fan appreciation for all her efforts as Tara - at this end of buffy party!

just wish the ender had featured willow and tara riding off into the sunset together - sigh - it should have been tara clasping willow's hand at the end to ground willow and complete the spell

but hey amber had a good time - fans got to show her the love - and we get to dance at the fact that whedons ender sans tara couldn't break a 3 !!! HIP is dancing the dance of joy !!

FYI - gellar took an ad in the hollywood reporter thanking everyone

the smg board also put an ad in the hollywood reporter thanking folks (including amber!)

Another fan report from the AICN Buffy finale party in L.A.:

Quote:
spikeswicca: I was at the AICN Buffy Bash and it was awesome. During the episode showing, Amber was actually downstairs in a second area that was supposed to be showing the episode but the connection was not working. But my sister happened to be at the bar, so she came up and told me that Amber was downstairs (and no one was around and she knows what a Amber/Tara freak I am), so at the commercial I went down there. And I got the chance to talk to her with no one else around, it was actually very cool, she took a picture with me and I got an autograph for my niece who was at home in bed. I told her how much everyone missed Tara, and that she rocks compared to JFK (she said thanks). She probably thought I was nuts, but she was way cool about it.

Then later when we were heading to our car, she was outside leaving also. My sister and friend had wanted a picture, since they were not with me downstairs. We asked her for another pic and she was totally cool about it. She actually remembered my name. She said "Danielle right?" (I know I had just met her like 2 hours before but it was cool to be remembered). She signed the Buffy posters we had all gotten....it was just a great night.

Amber is the most kick ass person ever, it was so nice to meet her.....She is really down to earth. I cannot wait to see what great things she has coming.

Thanks for that fan report kajo. Amber is such a goddess. I really think she'll be remembered far longer and do much better things than Josh (snicker intended) what's- his-face.

Amber seems to have a genuine affection for the show, the character of Tara, and the fans. Dropping her just shows what poor judgment Joss has.

Willow: ...I have to tell you....

Tara: No, I understand you have to be with the person you l-love

Willow: I am
