Sam7777, I totally agree. That's half the point. Watching the Scoobies deal with their lives problems and still being able to overcome these problems and deal with monsters, villains and the occasional apocalypse. And yeah, on Charmed the girls are still connected to the world, except for Paige right now. And that has taken a small toll or her as well. Charmed certainly does seem to remember that we want to have fun watching the show. And so they have Phoebe dress like a mermaid or something else really skimpy. Ya gotta be behind that!

Yeah, they're big on accentuating their hotness. Like the Egyptian bit, with the skimpy. . . Oh.

Not that I'm completely enamored of Rose McGowan or anything. . .

I think the baby episodes have been great. Especially the first one, with the naming. . . I was all for Potter, but yeah. Just the. . . They could even center the show around him exploring his power. It's not a direction I can see the show going in, but they could make that work. You know? They have a lot of options.

Seeing last Sunday's delightful "Wood Nymph" episode was enough to remind me how much I would have really, really enjoyed it if JW had opted to use the Tara-is-part-woodsprite storyline that he originally contemplated.

I would have really loved to see AB dancing around the woods in a costume similar to those worn by the nymphs/dryads/woodsprites on Sunday's show:D .

Bob,

I was over at TWOP, reading through Couch Baron's last season two recap, "Bewitched, Bebothered, and Bewildered", and when I got to the end I found this exchange:
Quote:
Demian: Sigh. I wish Charmed could do a love-spell episode like that.

Couch Baron: Well, if it's any consolation, the current season of Charmed, even with its recent lameness, has been better than the current season of Buffy.

Demian: That's true. You know that's a sign of the apocalypse, right?

Couch Baron: So I guess we're going to hell, then?

Demian: I'll save you a seat in the TWoP staff section.

The TWOP folks have always been notoriously unkind to Charmed (especially its recapper, Demian). So it says a lot about how truly awful Buffy has become when even they are acknowledging that Charmed is better. Even if they do consider it a sign of the Apocalypse. :wink How ironic that Joss used to complain about Charmed writers stealing ideas from him, and now they have the more original show.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Charmed, but you have to admire it's ability to not only improve on it ratings by bringing in new viewers, but also survive when cast members decide to leave. That's fairly difficult for any show (especially a sci-fi/fantasy one) to do, and it's something which neither Buffy or Angel have managed to accomplish.
