Buffy stuff. Open to everyone now.

Southland Tales is set in Los Angeles, 2008, as it stands on the brink of social, economic and environmental disaster.

So it's a documentary then?:) Seriously I wish SMG well, these days in Hollywood its a bold move for a mainstream actress to take her clothes of in a movie. Chop a dozen people into sushi ala Uma Thurman in Kill Bill? No problem. Show your boobs? They'll want to burn you at the stake...

OMG Charisma C looked just yummy on "VM"--she truly is "The Body Beautiful" :-D . As for AH, it has already been confirmed that she will be back as "Trina Echolls" for episode nine of the series, in which the producer promises to make every effort to put her and CC together in a scene (that should be something to see! :eyebrow ).

Just thought I'd also mention that the lovely Amy Acker was featured in an episode of the new WB series "Supernatural" on Tuesday (9/27). She played a mom (without the Texas accent), and there was even a bath scene--my goodness she is so thin that she is dangerously close to entering Flockhart territory :eek !

Amy Acker was pretty decent in Supernatural this past Tuesday. She had a fair amount to do without being the lead and showed a fairly different character than Fred or Illyria. The bathtub scene was pretty standard horror fare, and she is definitely thin. It is too bad that she will be back for a Spike movie, but then if it is just her and Spike and hardly anyone else, well, whatever. I guess she needs the cash.

Hello Kittens-

I saw the episode as well. I have to admit the chances of getting a paying job in movies/TV might make anyone take what's offered. I hope AA gets better offers and becomes unavailable.

looks like aly and cc will be in ep 9

http://www.tvguide.com/News/Insider/?cm ... 98864CF%7D

Question: How many episodes will Alyson Hannigan be doing this season? I've only heard of one so far. And will we see Aaron Echolls' trial at all? — Shannon
Thomas: It's difficult to work around Alyson's "other" show's schedule, but we've got a great story line for her in Episode 9. So far that's all we have planned.

Question: What kinds of sparks are going to fly when Alyson's and Charisma's characters confront each other later in the season? — Kevin
Thomas: Great. Multicolored. Kick-ass sparks.

Freddie Prinze Jr. has a brand new successful show out.
http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/10/1 ... nn_showbiz

I have always liked him, I think it stems from the fact I was a fan of his father and I was very shaken when he died (I was young). Plus this would be a good example for his wife. As if she needed any more excuses not to return to Whedon, let alone TV.

Hey did anyone catch David Letterman last night? I ask because The Rock was on it and he is usually pretty entertaining on talk shows, and they had a couple of photos of him and Sarah Michelle Gellar from the film where she's an adult actress. They were saying that she is supposed to be the Rock's girlfriend, or mistress maybe, and they showed both on a porch and then him holding her. My reaction was, now wait a minute, isn't he like 6'5" and isn't she like 5' nothing? How the hell are these two going to look like a reasonable couple? Sarah must have been standing on a huge stool or something to put them anywhere near the same level. I found the whole thing very amusing actually and just wondered if anyone esle had caught the pics? At least it defintely shows that SMG is branching out into a totally different direction, which is good for her.

I hate to post two in a row, especially since no one has said anything about the Letterman show, but...Did anyone catch Robot Chicken this week?! OMG!!!!!

I don't think it was a rerun, as I hadn't seen it before. It had the Harrison Ford Armageddon bit in it and the Muppets Behind the Music stuff. But most importantly it had Sarah Michellel Gellar voicing the Buffy action figure. Basically the gag started with chucky going to a lettuce patch, being attacked by lettuce patch kids who have no souls and want his, they kill him and we cut to lettuce patch kids attacking people out of their packaging, then cut to Buffy saying something like I'm Buffy and my job is to fight evil and put a stop to these sort of things, and then we cut to an SMG doll (maybe Buffy, maybe just some blonde doll) at a table with some other girl and SMG is saying, "And that's how Season 8 was going to start!" and the other goes "Bleeeeep! No wonder you quit!" End of scene. It was awesome. I almost wet myself! :) The best part was Sarah Michelle Gellar was listed in the voice credits at the end and I think that was really her doing the Buffy and herself voice. All Kittens have GOT to check this out. I wonder what Josswad thinks of this, if he has even heard about it yet.

Ah, I'm still chuckling about this one. Yeah, I think she's moved on. No, no bitterness there at all. Awesome!

Oh I can just imagine the new rush of fanmail from the browncoats that is going to find it´s way to SMG over that. I did not need another reason to like her, but I certainly do not mind it either. I wish I could see this for myself.

According to my younger colleagues Robot Chicken is very cool right now. Who knows how far this will go...

That very nice husband of SMG had some interesting things to say about Buffy in an obscure magazine. He talked about how she was synonomous with the show and how certain people didn't like that and made things very difficult for her. Isn't that Seth Green's show that she was on? I can't wait to see it. Serenity is at less than nine hundred theatres this week. How long before the Whedonites start talking up Wonder Woman as the greatest movie ever made.

All part of the ME ethos, on other shows they just accepted the fact that a particular actor was the face of the show, usually swiftly followed by an executive producer credit.

Just thought I'd mention that James Marsters is doing quite nicely in his gig as Brainiac on the "Smallville" show, although the character is certainly quite different from what was in the comic (there, he is bald and green!!)

Michael Rosenbaum is doing a fine job making the slow transition to "Supervillain", and is well on his way there. :devil

Otherwise, it's always nice to look at Kristin Kreuk and Allison Mack, :-D

Yes, Robot Chicken is Seth Green's show, though how involved he is I am not sure. He usually gets a few good guest stars for voices though. For those that don't know, Robot Chicken is a stop motion animiation of action figures doing wierd and strange things. It is sort of like Monty Python in that each bit can be really short, or a few can go a bit longer. It only lasts about 10 minutes, and can be very hit or miss, but when it is on, it is really good.

Now it occurs to me that we have Willow and Tara action figures and that it might be nice to see something done with them. I can think of a few things that would be amusing ( and not too smutty eithe! :) ) which would be neat to see. Ah well, not likely, but still, someone should suggest to Amber that this could be an amusing short gig. I bet she could write something of note!

So who on the show didn't like that the show was synonomous with SMG? Hopefully none of the cast. It is sad how her character was deconstructed and destroyed in the last two seasons. ME were the biggest morons ever given charge of a great show. I know, they helped make it great, but they certainly didn't treat it right or follow through. Makes you think it was more about luck than anything else (or the great actors and actresses involved).

To me that ep sounded like a bad buffy script that was recycled for smallville (by buffy hack Steven DeKnight) and given that they have already done an offensive Evil Lesbian ep, my expectations were zero as were the odds that I would watch. For my part I steer clear of shows that try to appeal to buffy fans like smallville and even veronica mars which is no prob as I saw a couple of eps of each and didn't get into either. I like to get into the fandom of the shows I watch but want to stay far away from ME @ssholes like the reavers. Happily there is nothing they like that interests me. Also given that I watch only a few hours of TV a week, it's easy to avoid this stuff.

Hello Kittens-

On the radio there's a ton of ads for Bones and House. DB is being touted as part of the hot new team. Any idea how much it would take to get him to sign on for an Angel movie?

Anthony Head to star in Doctor Who

SFX caught up with him to find out how things are on the Who set...

Had you heard about the rumour in the newspapers that you were playing The Master...

[Shocked] No!! I love it when papers say things stridently, whether they’re right or wrong.

How was Doctor Who then?

It was fantastic. And he’s a blinding Doctor, David Tennant. For the first time in a long time, it’s effortless. He’s got it all, he really. He’s literally born to play the part. He’s got such an edge yet at the same time the humour, the comedy’s just perfect. You’re not watching anybody trying hard, it’s just there. For me, this guy is just bang on!

How did you get the gig?

I suppose once you’re in the genre, I suppose people just say, oh, you’d be good! I went up for the American TV movie, I went up for that a couple of time, and I saw various executives, but when I came back from Buffy, people would ask if I’d do it and I said, well, I think to do one sort of iconic sci-fi character every decade is probably enough. People’d get confused otherwise!

Were you approached for this role?

Yes. I don’t know if they wrote this specifically with me in mind, but I think they thought it’d suit me. I must admit I enjoyed myself immensely.

So, who do you play it?

I can’t even remember the character’s name. Now I’m on tour, all my energies are channelled into that. Hmm, I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say. My name is stamped all over the script so if anybody ever gets the script, they know it comes from me!

Russell’s a big Buffy fan, isn’t he?

We met at the read-thru. He’s a great writer, Russell. He said how much of a fan he was and how pleased he was that I was doing it. I did the commentary for the Making Of on Radio 2 and there was a bit where they said they’d watched Buffy and modelled storytelling techniques on it.

Count out Gunn. JAR has made the big leagues.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/12/0 ... ostpopular

'SVU' character Cabot out of hiding
Stephanie March returning for new Dick Wolf show

LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- After two years in the witness-protection program, Alexandra Cabot is returning to "Law & Order" creator Dick Wolf's TV universe.

Stephanie March, who left "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" after her character, Assistant District Attorney Cabot, was shot and sent away with a changed identity in an October 2003 episode, is joining Wolf's new NBC legal drama, "Conviction."

Rounding out the cast are Jordan Bridges and J. August Richards. They join previously cast Anson Mount, Eric Balfour, Julianne Nicholson and Milena Govich.

"Conviction" is described as a fast-paced, character-driven series focusing on young ADAs in New York who often tackle tough, high-profile cases.

"Since 'Conviction' will be a 'charactercedural,' we will be dealing extensively with characters' back stories and personal lives," said Wolf, whose three "Law & Order" series largely avoid the personal touch.

March, most recently seen in the feature "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," next will be seen in the indie "Flannel Pajamas," which is slated to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

Bridges, whose feature credits include "Mona Lisa Smile" and "Frequency," guest starred last year on another "Law & Order" series, "Criminal Intent."

Richards's credits include roles on the WB series "Angel" and MTV's "Undressed."

So he will be working for Dick Wolf now. Why would he ever go back to Whedon???
