Well, I like to maintain an attitude of benevolent non-violence... but take that Emma! She had that coming. Let's just hope she's managed to get into some sort of contact with reality now.



Willow's leaving... and Buffy and Xander, each leaving behind their sweeties - something must be done! What I don't know, obviously they have to go, if Giles isn't well, but I don't know if it's fair to ask Tara and Faith and Anya to leave their island permanently, on such short acquaintance... maybe if Giles gets better they can all consider what to do with themselves in a more relaxed fashion? I kind of like the idea of Willow packing up her laptop and a wireless internet link and moving out to the island to live there with Tara

Note: Just a warning that the ending of this update is a little sad but I promise the outcome of the story will be happy.





The first flight that would be available for the group was the next day, Buffy was surprised to get one on such short notice, and a little sad. Xander was now off with Anya, Faith was at Buffy's, and Willow was at Tara's house. They had very little time left and wanted to spend as much of it as they could with their partners.



"I'm gonna miss you," Faith told her girlfriend. They were laying in bed, neither could nor wanted to sleep despite the late hour.



"I'm gonna miss you too," Buffy frowned. "This is so unfair, that we live so far away from each other."



"I know," Faith said wishing she could get the blonde to stay with her forever, but she knew Buffy had family in Sunnydale and could never ask her to leave them. At the same time, she'd be very willing to go with Buffy but Tara was her family and she knew how much her friend loved the Island. It seemed to be a no win situation.



Tara and Willow were also laying in bed awake. "I can call you everyday and we could visit each other," She said trying to convince her lover and herself it wasn't so bad, she was failing miserably.



"Yeah, sounds good," The blonde tried to give a convincing smile.



"I know you love it here Tara, but you know you could always come back with me," Willow tried.



The blonde sighed. "I don't know Will, this is the first place that's ever felt like home to me, I'm not sure I could leave it. You could always move here."



"My job is in Sunnydale, they don't have companies like that around here," The redhead frowned.



The room became quiet, they both knew it was hopeless, so they just snuggled closer and enjoyed the little time they had left together, they soon drifted to sleep.



Green eyes opened, closing again from the harsh sun that was filling the room. She could feel the heat from her lovers body, her mouth curved into a smile. Her tired brain finally remembered that today was the day she went back to Sunnydale, causing the smile to fade. She looked at the alarm clock which told her she only had three hours till it was time to leave.



"Tara," The redhead said to the blonde, she kissed her cheek.



It didn't take Tara long to know what today meant, her eyes instantly opened. "Will? What time is it?" She wrapped her arms around the redhead.



"Three hours left," She said as she buried her head into the crook of the blonde's neck.



"I'm gonna talk to Tara about coming to visit you really soon," Faith said as she helped Buffy rinse out the shampoo from her hair.



"You think she'll agree to it?" Buffy asked with hope.



"Are you kidding? Tara is crazy over Red, never seen her that way before, I know she will," She smiled and put her arms around very wet and very naked girlfriend.



"Ahhhhhh...cold! Come on," Buffy said as she pulled Faith out of the shower.



When the two girls dressed and entered the living room they were met by Xander and Anya.



"Hey, didn't think you two were ever gonna come out of there," The young man smiled.



"He wanted to come in and get you but I told him no, he's only supposed to drool over me," A jealous Anya said.



"You are the only one I drool over," Xander gave his girlfriend a reassuring hug.



"Hey," The mopey redhead said as she and Tara came in the house.



"Hey," Came from the group.



"Got any coffee?" The redhead asked, she was tired from lack of sleep.



"Yeah, a whole pot," Faith said.



Willow went and got some coffee as did most of the group. They exchanged their address and phone numbers with each other promising to stay in contact. Then they got in there cars to go to the airport. Buffy returned the rental Jeep and met everyone in the terminal. Anya was crying hysterically on Xander's shoulder, he tried to console her but it was no use. Willow and Tara were sitting down and holding hands, Willow had her head on the blonde's shoulder.



"Hey," Faith said as she saw Buffy walking to her.



Just then an announcement came on saying it was time to board the plane. Buffy gave her girlfriend a long hug and kiss. The blonde was letting the tears fall while Faith was keeping hers in, trying to be strong for her love. "I love you," Buffy said.



"I love you too," Faith said still controlling her tears, but the crack in her voice gave her emotions away. "How is it people can fall in love so fast?"



"I dunno, but it sure did happen that way."



"Sweetie, it's okay, we'll see each other again," Xander said still trying to calm his lover down.



"What if we don't? What if you meet someone else and they give you better orgasms than me?"



"That's not possible," The man said as he kissed Anya's head.



Tara and Willow were now standing, holding onto one another. "I'll always love you, no matter what, you know that right?" The redhead told her girlfriend.



"Yes, and I'll always love you too."



Willow gave the blonde a smile as tears rolled down her face. "I'll call you tonight."



"I'll be waiting," Tara reached for Willow's hand and put a letter in it. "It's a letter, and don't tell anyone how mushy I can be," The blonde gave Willow a serious look.



Willow sniffled and laughed. "I promise. I have something for you too," She said digging into the pockets of her jeans. She pulled out a small box and gave it to the blonde.



Tara took the box and opened it. "Oh Willow...."



"My grandmother gave it to me, said I should give it to my soul mate,"



The blonde looked at the charm on the necklace, it was symbols she had never seen before.



"Basically it means eternal love," The redhead said as she looked down, finding her feet suddenly interesting.



"Hey.." The blonde said as she lifted the other girls chin. "I love it, and I feel the same. Don't get shy on me, instead, put it on me?"



Willow smiled and did as she was asked. They hugged again before the redhead took Tara and kissed her deeply. Once again came an announcement, this time saying it was the final boarding call. "I love you my sweet Willow," Tara said through her tears as she caressed her lovers cheek.



"I love you too baby," Willow kissed her girl once more and then walked away, she didn't think she could stand there much longer.



Willow, Buffy, and Xander all made their way to get on the plane, all looking back once more before disappearing down the ramp.



Faith saw how upset the blonde was, she'd never seen her friend like this before. "Are you gonna be okay?"



"I don't know, I think maybe no," Tara said, she was still staring at the last place she saw her lover.



"Come on, let's go home."



Tara followed her friend and a still hysterically crying Anya. She walked up beside the girl, placing her arm around her to try and offer comfort.



The three friends on the plane were quiet, none had said a word since the plane took off. Willow looked down at the letter, she took a deep breath and opened it.



My beautiful Willow,



By now you are gone, I know my heart is breaking, and yours is too. I'm not writing this to point out the bad, but the good. You are so good Willow, the best thing in my life, and that includes the past, present, and future. I'm so glad you came here on vacation, you made this place shine brighter than ever before. You changed me so much, before you I was just some girl, now I feel like a star, special. I never thought I could even fall in love, I had dated a lot of very beautiful girls but not once did I tell them I love them. I promised myself never to lie and tell someone I love them if I really didn't. I would date the same girl for a while and nothing, but you come along and a couple of days later I'm telling you I love you. The thing is, I waited, I didn't want to scare you. Truth is I loved you since the first night we all hung out. you were and are...so cute and sexy, my heart just felt so happy when I was around you. You showed me love, happiness, what life is really all about, and for that I want to thank you. You will have my gratitude forever, as you will my heart. I know this sounds like a goodbye, but it's not, I could never tell you goodbye. I just wanted you to know how much I love you. Talk to you soon my love.

Okay, the tears and sobbing are making it very hard to breathe and my chest feels like it has this huge hole in it, so can you fix it soon please? I really don't think this is healthy for me.



Really, I read the warning and knew it was going to be sad, but it was also very beautiful and touching. I could really feel what they were feeling, so great job. Tara's letter was beautiful and so was Willow's gift to Tara...eternal love...again, just so beautiful.



Same for Faith and Buffy and even Anya and Xander, just too much sadness.



So, now I will dry my tears because I know you will bring the good stuff to us soon. I'm going to be anxiously waiting until you do.

Hey all...I'm really sorry I made everyone so sad in the last update, but I like stories that have a variety of emotions in them so I tend to write just that. Before you read this next update it's only fair you should know there will be yet another cliffhanger cause I'm evil like that.

Tears filled the redhead's eyes as she folded the letter. She wanted to stop the plane and run into her lover's arms, kiss her all over and tell her how much she loved her. She couldn't though, someone close to her was sick, that had to be the most important thing right now. Her thoughts turned to her friend, more like a father. Her biological father was never really there, always on business. Giles however was always there for her, of course he was set in his British ways but very caring and understanding.



When the plane landed the three friends went and dropped off their bags then headed straight for the hospital. Once they received the room number from the nurse at the desk they went down the hall in search of the room.



"Here it is," Buffy said motioning her friends.



They followed the blonde inside finding Giles asleep. He had an I.V in his arm along with a machine hooked to him telling his pulse, etc.



"Poor Giles," Buffy said as she sat in one of the two chairs beside the bed. Willow took the seat next to her friend.



"Hey, you guys made it," Joyce said spotting the group as she entered the room.



"Yeah," Buffy got up to hug her mother. "How is he?"



"He's doing better, his temperature is much lower now," The older woman said.



"What exactly is wrong with him?" Xander asked.



"He had to come in for an appendicitis, everything went well except he got a fever after the operation which can become serious if they can't get it down and control the infection. I knew he'd want you here." Joyce said looking around at the group.



"Oh..he's waking up," Willow said, she got up and moved closer to the bed. "Hey..how you feeling?"



It took Giles a few seconds to focus on what was happening, he smiled as realization hit. "I'm feeling a little better, still week though."



"We came to cheer you up," Xander gave a goofy smile. "A little singing, jokes, dancing, pick your poison."



"Thank you but that's not necessary," Giles replied.



"Are you sure, Anya taught me how to belly dance," Xander said not noticing the looks he was getting.



"Yes I'm quite sure," Giles said, wishing he had his glasses on so he could clean them. "Who is Anya?"



"Oh..she's this girl I met on the Island, very pretty and her actually liking me is a huge plus," Xander said excitedly.



"We all met someone there," Buffy said smiling proudly.



"Really? I take it your trip was wonderful then," Giles smiled briefly. "I'm sorry it was cut short."



"We love you and would come back early for you any day," Willow said as she gave Giles a small hug, it would've been bigger but she was afraid she'd hurt the older man.



Giles gave the redhead a loving smile then turned his attention to the whole group. "I love you guys too. Now tell me more about these people you met at the Island."



Buffy was the first to speak. "The girl I met was Faith, she's very sweet, pretty, funny, beautiful, charming, fun...oh and very sexy!"



"Oh well she sounds...nice," Giles smiled and turned to Willow.



"Her name is Tara, pretty much the same qualities Buffy described except I would add beautiful in there a few more times....oh..and she's a surfer. She taught me how to surf too, she's amazing," The redhead finished a bit dazed.



"That's wonderful," Giles said before yawning.



"You're getting tired, maybe we should let you get some rest," Joyce said.



"Yes," Was all the man could get out before his eyes closed.



"I forgot to say Faith was a surfer too," Buffy pouted as she watched the sleeping man.



"Poor baby," Joyce kissed her daughters head. "You guys hungry?"



"Depends, are you cooking?" Xander asked.



"Yes I am."



"Then yes, I'm starving," The young man smiled.







Three girls were laying in lounge chairs on the beach, each of them quiet and not so happy looking.



"This is no fun without my big teddy bear with me," Anya thought out loud.



"I know what you mean," Faith said adjusting her sunglasses. She caught Anya staring at her out of the corner of her eye. "What?"



"Usually you have some kind of joke to tell at my expense, or some kind of comment, it's just weird." Anya said.



"Well usually I am happy...not so much right now," Faith got up and headed to the water.



"Was it something I said?" Anya asked Tara.



"No...it's just hard for her right now....hard for all of us," The blonde sighed. "I'm gonna go check on Faith," Tara said as she got up and went after her friend.



"Having fun?" Tara asked her friend, Faith was just standing in ankle deep water staring out toward the ocean.



"Yes, loads...you should try it," The brunette smirked.



"Great," Tara walked up and stood beside Faith. "Do you want to talk?"



"I dunno, it's just weird, no girl has ever had this effect on me. I just miss her like crazy and she's only been gone for a short time," Faith said as if she was trying to figure it all out for herself.



" I know what you mean....i have the exact same problem."



"I'm gonna grab my board, want me to get yours too?" Faith asked her friend, she left once receiving her friends nod.







"That was great Joyce," Willow said as she swallowed her last bite of food.



"Thanks Willow," Joyce smiled taking the redhead's plate. She waved her hand in dismissal when Willow moved to get up and help. "You guys are tired, let me do it."



"I hate to eat and run mom but we haven't even unpacked," Buffy said with an apologetic expression.



"No problem sweetie," Joyce smiled and gave her daughter a hug, then turned to give Willow and Xander a hug too. "Will you be going to the hospital tomorrow?" Joyce asked her daughter.



"Yes, first thing in the morning, we'll be there."



"Okay, see you all then," Joyce said.



Buffy and Willow dropped Xander off at his apartment then headed to their house. Willow kept looking at the clock, it was still more than a few hours before she was to call Tara, she sighed.



"What is it Will?" Buffy asked even though she knew what it was.



"I miss Tara," The redhead said.



"I know, I miss Faith too."







Faith and Tara had decided to walk with Anya to work, neither wanted to go home.



"When is she calling?" Faith asked Tara as she took a drink of her beer.



"Not until 11:00," Tara sighed at the time. There was too much time between 5:00 and 11:00. She wondered if this is what everyday without Willow would feel like. She looked at how sad her friend was, then looked at Anya who kept washing the same glass over and over at the bar, she nodded to herself. "Faith, get Anya and bring her over here, we need to talk."







Willow and Buffy spent the evening unpacking, showering, and washing clothes, both were glad they had something to keep them busy.



Once the redhead had finished with her shower she sat beside Buffy on the couch. "Are you going to decide on something or just sit here switching channels?"



"Nothing seems interesting right now, a bunch of boring shows about boring things, except the romance shows but their just sad," The blonde pouted and sat the remote on Willow's lap.



"Oh hey, Charmed," The redhead said as she stopped switching the channels.



An hour went by and Willow was feeling happy, it was time to call Tara. "It's time!" She she practically screamed in her friends ear.



"Oh...let me talk to Faith before you hang up," Buffy said.



"Okay," The redhead went to the phone and dialed the number, she could already hear the blonde's voice. One ring came, making her smile, then two rings, making her smile widen. The smile faded.



"What is it?" Buffy asked seeing her friends face.



"No one answered the phone," Willow said in a low voice.

Secondly, I'm like jumping up and down right now because I know why there's no answer! I think I got it fingered out.

Glad Giles is okay, and it was sweet - if bittersweet - to see Willow and Tara (and Buffy and Faith, and Xander and Anya) missing each other. Definitely not just holiday flings

Note: I want to thank everyone who read this story and left feedback. I'm glad you all like it, this is the last update, I hope you are not too mad at me for that. I am hoping to write another one in the near future.













"Maybe they went out and lost track of time," The blonde tried to comfort her now pacing friend.



"Or maybe something happened and she's hurt. Maybe Emma did something to her," Panic took over. "Oh god..."



"Calm down Will, Tara and Faith are tough girls, they're fine. Try calling back in a little while," Buffy got up and placed her hands on her friends shoulders to stop her.



"I'm sorry, I'll stop now...but if she still doesn't answer later, I have every right to be panicky," Willow said.



Willow tried to call Tara about an hour later, still getting no answer she started to panic once again. Buffy did the best she could to calm her friend down saying that they were probably out and not to worry. It was hard for her to give the advice to the redhead when she was worrying too. Buffy talked Willow into sitting down and watching a movie with her, though their eyes were fixed on the screen, they weren't really watching it.



"I'm going to try again," Willow told Buffy rushing to the phone. She looked at her friend with hurt showing clear through her eyes. "Buffy, I don't know what's going on. Do you think Tara doesn't want me anymore?" She asked as tears formed in her eyes and her soul.



The blonde rushed to her friend's side, her own tears peaking out from the corners of her eyes. "No I don't think that. It's going to be alright, it's probably some funny reason she's not answering and we'll all be laughing about it tomorrow."



"I just don't know what to do, this girl is walking around with my heart and I can't find her. My heart is missing Buffy and I can't stand the way that feels," Hope showed through Willow's tears, hoping Buffy would have the answer to her problem.



"I know sweetie," Buffy took her friend into a hug, she wasn't sure if she was offering comfort or taking it....maybe it was both.



Willow gently pushed Buffy away. "I have to go there."



"What? Will..."



"No...you can't stop me. Giles is going to be okay, I'm not, not untill I find out what's going on," The redhead picked the phone up and made arrangements to go back to the Island then ran up the stairs.



Buffy sat back down on the couch, she wanted to go with her friend but she didn't want them all to leave and Giles not have anyone there for him.



"I'll call you later, okay?" Willow told Buffy hoping her friend wasn't mad at her.



The blonde got up and hugged Willow. "Okay, you be careful and tell Faith I love her and miss her."



"I will," She then walked out the door and got into the cab.



Willow got to the airport and was now waiting for the boarding of her flight. She had a while before it was scheduled to leave but still felt she had to leave her house as soon as possible.

Buffy had watched a little more t.v. before deciding she should go to bed. She shut off the lights and was about to ascend the stairs when the doorbell rang. Her nose scrunched as she tried to look at her watch. She slowly opened the door and her jaw dropped upon seeing three smiling girls.



"You gonna let us in?" Faith asked the still dumbfounded blonde.



"Oh yeah," Buffy opened the door further to allow the three girls in. Suddenly she was in a bone crushing hug from her girlfriend. "What are you guys doing here?"



"We came because we missed our girls," Tara smiled glancing around the room hoping to see Willow. She saw Anya looking at her, "Oh and guy," She said giving Anya an 'I'm sorry' look.



"I can't believe this, we've missed you too! Oh god...Willow, she went to the airport to catch a plane back to the Island," Buffy said picking up the phone to call her friend's cellphone. "No answer."



"Shit! I knew we should have waited, I let Faith talk me into not waiting for her phone call, what time is her flight?" She asked Buffy.



"Um...I dunno...it all kinda happened fast."



"Shit! I gotta go see if she's still there," Tara then ran out the door.



Anya pulled out a peice of paper and dialed Xander's number. "Xander? Yeah it's me, you have to come to Buffy's house, I'm here!"



About two minutes later Xander came rushing through the door. "Anya?" He called out.



"Right here," She said running and jumping into Xander's arms.



Buffy and Faith smiled from their place on the couch. "I just love happy moments," Faith smiled and lovingly kissed Buffy.

"Shit! Come on!" Tara yelled at the driver in front of her. "The limit is 55...why the hell are you going 35 idiot!" She could see the driver watching her out of his rear veiw mirror. "That's right, I'm talking to you," She said as she flipped the driver off.



After what felt like an eternity she made it to the airport. She pulled up to the valet parking and through the keys to the man who was taking his time getting to her, then ran inside. She looked at the list of flights and made a beeline for the right one. She didn't care about the stares she was getting, the only thing that mattered was getting to her lover on time. She saw the line that was disappearing into the plane and the blur of red in the middle. "Willow!" She yelled as loud as she could getting everyone's attention.



Willow turned around seeing the love of her life, she thought maybe it was a halucination. Then she heard her name again and realized it wasn't, Tara was really there. She dropped her bag and started running to Tara.



The blonde did the same and started running to the redhead. Their bodies practically slammed into each other as well as their mouths. They kissed deeply, conveying their love through lips and tongues. Finally they broke apart and looked into each others eyes. "Oh god Tara, I was so worried, I thought something happened to you....and why are you here not that I don't like it but I certainly wasn't expecting it," Willow said loudly enough for those around her to hear.



"I'm so sorry...I told Faith we were coming here and she didn't want to wait. I thought I would be here in time but we had trouble finding your house plus the plane was late. And I'm here because I love you and don't want to be without you, is that okay?" Tara asked even though she knew the answer.



"Yes...very okay...how long are you staying?"



"Forever."



Willow smiled as her eyes teared up. "Forever?" She asked needing to make sure she heard the blonde right.



"Yes...forever and always," Tara brushed away the tear on her lover's cheek and held her tight.

Yay! Happy ending! I had a feeling the island girls were on their way, and that Willow would rush back in worry, but I thought there'd be more madcap crossing of paths before they found each other, so Tara getting there in time was very cool.



Wait a minute...the end? But...but...it's too soon. Where's the 'we haven't seen each other in several days' sex? And more surfing? And Tara talking Willow into getting a tattoo and having to rub lotion on it?

That was a very sweet ending, thank you (for the sweetness, not the ending ). I love how they ended up chasing each other and meeting at the airport - it had a little touch of it-was-meant-to-be magic to it, and left a warm feeling in my heart.



So Tara's staying with Willow in Sunnydale (and Faith and Anya, one assumes). Well that's okay, I recall Sunnydale having a beach, and hence waves. Just so long as Surfer Tara doesn't have to give up her surf - not having Tara in her slinky bikini tearing up the waves would be a crime against humanity.



That was a really sweet story, and I hope it won't be your last. Thanks for writing it.
