Hey there,
I started reading this. I really like the premise of it and it's sweet how much it seems like everyone is kind of gravitating to their true self.

And one more :)

JustSkipIt: Hey Debra! Good to see you here. I'm glad you're enjoying it so far, and it means so much considering how much I admire your writing.

it seems like everyone is kind of gravitating to their true self.

When I saw the episode, I felt like it could have been interpereted in two ways. They could have either been wiped clean and become totally different people, or they could have just had their memories wiped, and still be the people they were. That's the way I interpereted it, and I'm glad I did. It makes developing relationships more believable, along with slayer skills and magical abilities. Once again, thanks for the feedback. Hope to see you back here.

Tabula Rasa Perpetua

Chapter 7- Choices

“Number 14.”

“Oh, right.” Randy walked up to the counter, a blue ticket in his hand. “Number 14, right here.”

“Whaddaya want?” The butcher asked Randy, not making any attempt to appear customer-friendly.

“Just gimme a couple pints of blood, mate.” Randy slapped some bills on the counter as he spoke, and then removed his hand.

The butcher sneered at him. “Mate,” he said in a mocking tone. “What are you, some sorta nancy-boy?” The butcher laughed and moved his hand to grab the bills on the counter, but his hand stopped as Randy slammed his hand back down onto the money.

“Nancy-boy, huh?” Randy smiled and put on his game-face. The butcher looked up, and in a show of total masculinity, squealed loudly and ran from the shop. Randy turned to watch the butcher’s escape and inadvertently scared the two women who had been waiting behind him. They ran screaming from the shop as well. Randy laughed and hopped over the counter, picking up the money and shoving it back into his pocket. He had stolen the money from a wallet, but couldn’t really feel bad about it. He was, after all, a vampire.

Randy grabbed the pints of blood he had been willing to buy and placed them in a paper bag. He grabbed another pint of blood and popped the top open before thirstily drinking half the contents. Before leaving, he opened the cash register with a hard kick and grabbed the few dollars in there. “Just cause I’m not evil doesn’t mean I don’t need some new clothes,” he said to himself. With that, Randy went to the back of the shop and through the tunnel he had entered from, feeling decidedly fuller and richer.

-----------------

“I’ve been watching you strawberry.”

Willow looked at the man before her, thoroughly confused. “Uh, who are you?” Rack smiled again, but instead of inspiring happiness, the smile only made Willow cringe. She felt Tara tighten her grip on her hand.

“That’s right. We haven’t met yet. I’m Rack, a… teacher.” He attempted to smile again. “I could help you strawberry. I could make you so much better. So much… more.”

Willow looked into the pitch black eyes and shuddered. Whoever this man was, she didn’t think he was good. “Ok, first off, how do you know me? And secondly, why do you keep calling me strawberry?”

“Your magic, I can feel your essence. I’ve been watching you. Your presence in this town called to me. It’s been calling to me ever since you performed the resurrection.” He walked closer, stopping only a few feet from Willow. Lowering his voice to a whisper, he said “Your magic, your power; it tastes like strawberries.”

Willow shuddered again, the black eyes that bore into her making her shake with undisguised fear. He made it sound like her magic was a dark thing, something to be toyed with. She could feel Tara tighten her grip even further, the pressure increasing to almost bone-crushing lengths. The feeling made her remember the magic she and Tara had done, and the way magic was supposed to be.

“I could open your power. Just give me your hand, and I can show you what it means to do magic.” Rack moved a little closer, now holding out his hand.

Willow looked down for a moment, as if considering the option. When she looked back up, she realized that the inky eyes in front of her no longer seemed to have an effect. She squeezed Tara’s hand once and looked to the side. Her eyes found Tara’s and she smiled slightly.

Tara smiled back, once again pleased that Willow’s eyes bore no resemblance to Rack’s. However, it was only a small victory. She loved Willow with all of her heart and she wanted to trust her to do the right thing. But the dream kept coming back to her in fragments. A vision of Willow with the same deep black eyes. Willow’s fingers pressing against her skull. And then a few words that seemed to make all her doubts disappear. Another chance. Tara continued to gaze into the bright green eyes of her lover, and knew without a doubt Willow would do the right thing.

Willow kept her grip on Tara’s hand as she spoke. “I don’t know who you really are, but I do know that you don’t get eyes like that with contacts. I saw a picture in a book and there was a guy who had eyes like yours, from dark magicks. I don’t know what I did before I lost my memories, but I do know what magick is for. It’s for helping people. So if what you say is true, and I did…” She took a deep breath before continuing. “Resurrect someone, then I say it was probably for a good reason. Either way, what you’re offering isn’t light magick, it’s dark. So no, I don’t think I’ll be taking you up on the dark magick special, thank you.” Willow smiled and looked to Tara once more, pleased to see pride in Tara’s eyes.

“You stupid girl.” The smile fell from Willow’s face as Rack growled the words. “I’m offering you a chance to be a God! What right do you have to turn me down?” Willow backed away, her grip on Tara pulling her as well.

Buffy, having watched the entire exchange, decided to jump in. “You know what?” she asked, stepping in between Willow and Rack. “You didn’t show me your invitation, so I think you’ve overstayed your welcome.” She smiled tightly at the warlock and went into a fighting stance, as if daring him to disagree.

Rack stared at Buffy, his face the picture of rage. His hands were clenched in tight fists, sparks flying off of them with each breath. His eyes became even blacker, and a slight wind began to blow around him.

Buffy took all of this in stride. “Those are some nice party tricks you’ve got there. Bet they won’t be as cool when I’m kicking your ass.”

Rack seemed to consider this. His hands continued to give off sparks and the wind began to blow harder. Then, in the blink of an eye, he disappeared.

“Hey, go me!” Buffy loosened her stance and pumped a fist in the air.

“Well, that was, um, not fun,” Willow said from behind Buffy. Tara nodded her head in agreement. Their hands were still tightly clasped, as though they were afraid to let go.

“So, guess the memory spell thingy didn’t take, huh?” Buffy asked the witches.

“Sorry, Buffy. Guess we’ll have to find something else.” Willow smiled slightly in apology.

Buffy shrugged and left the room, calling over her shoulder that she was going to gather a few more books. Willow and Tara still stood there, connected by their linked hands. Tara turned to Willow, her eyes filled with unshed tears.

“I d-don’t know w-what I w-would have done if anything h-h-happ-”

“Ssh, ssh baby. It’s alright. I’m fine and Buffy made the evil warlock guy go away and I know that dark magick is bad.” Willow smiled at Tara and moved her other hand to Tara’s cheek. “Everything’s fine, baby.”

Tara nodded, unable to trust her voice, and moved her head forward to brush her lips against Willow’s. They shared a soft kiss, each reassuring the other that everything would be alright. Tara pulled back, the tears that her eyes had threatened to shed now gone. “I love you, Will,” she whispered. “And I’m so proud of you.”

Willow smiled at Tara and kissed her once more before they both left the back room, each more in love with the other than ever before.

-----------------

Rack reappeared in his sanctum. He could feel the unused dark magick coursing through his veins. It needed to be expelled. He called the junkie that was next in line into his ‘office.’ A man entered who was probably no older than twenty-five, but looked fifty. He stumbled into the room and landed at Rack’s feet.

“Please, Rack. Just give me a little. I just need a little.”

Rack sneered at the disgusting waste of a human. He raised a hand to the man, and he instantly stood. Rack placed his other hand on the man’s chest, his fingers still giving off red sparks. “Oh, I think today you’ll get a lot.” With that, he released the pent-up dark magick that had been flowing through his veins.

The man screamed in anguish as the magick entered him. His body felt like it was on fire as the power permeated his body. When he could scream no more, his body went limp and he fell to the ground. Rack looked down at the man’s lifeless form. He smiled ferociously and laughed.

“Oh strawberry, I’m going to taste your power. And then, you’re gonna feel mine.”

Hey, Sara, I guess I got dibs.

Great update, even stronger than the last one. It's nice to see Willow doing the right thing, even though it took a memory wipe to do it. It's really funny considering that it's her fault and misuse of magic that got them all there in the first place. The dichotomy you've played here is great.

Keep up the good work... they just keep getting better.

Ack! Things were looking good with Willow and Tara all with the hugs and puppies and Willow learning what magic is really about. But with Rack now actively trying to entice Willow into the dark fold (hmm that sounded more than a little pervy) I'm worried for our girls.

Thanks for the Randy in the update.

Ugh remember Willow, don't go to the dark side eventhough they have cookies. And Rack, keep your hands off her. Both of our girls, or else I'm going to...To...Tickle you to death.

That's the great thing about Anya. Seems like all the software is there, she just doesn't want to use it :wink

Okey, my computer is like that, software there, but don't want to use it. Can I call it Anya? (believe me or not, but I really like Anya)

Rack is never a good thing. I am glad Willow does the right thing this time.

As far as Spike is concerned, even when he received his soul in season seven, he still did soulless things. I never trusted him as far as I could throw him. For me, that wouldn't be very far.

Hey everybody :wave. Looks like it's that time again. Feedback reply time!

Diane: Heya! Congrats on the dibs. Glad you enjoyed the latest installment.

It's nice to see Willow doing the right thing, even though it took a memory wipe to do it.

Alright, now here's something that I thought would be tricky. You hit the nail on the head. She's doing the right thing, but with no memories. This will be a pivotal moment, I can tell you that.

It's really funny considering that it's her fault and misuse of magic that got them all there in the first place. The dichotomy you've played here is great.

Exactly. She's got the scruples there; they were just buried underneath presure and the need to fill Buffy's shoes. In my mind, I believe she really does want to do the right thing, but her life makes taking the easy way well, easier. I know that most of it is her fault, and as the old adage says, absolute power corrupts absolutely. But Willow is a good person, and all the kittens know that. Being a good person is part of her, memories or no.

Thanks for the feedback and the compliments. Hope you'll keep enjoying them :cool

Tujeky: Hey :) You're very right. Things were looking great for our girls, but I can't have a story without some outside angst can I?

But with Rack now actively trying to entice Willow into the dark fold (hmm that sounded more than a little pervy) I'm worried for our girls.

Lol. Just made me laugh, that pervy comment. Anyways, ya. Not so much hugs and puppies anymore, but like I said, a happy ending will happen as only the kitten board can deliver.

Does he think his soul justifies any actions he takes?

Interesting question. I think he thinks it does. The episode already told us that his natural instincts lean towards helping people and hurting bad guys. I think that if he believed he had a soul, he would emulate that in his life. Well, un life. Whatever. The point is, I think it's safe to say his false soul makes him a better person. Thanks for reading!

Numen: Hey Numen :)

Ugh remember Willow, don't go to the dark side eventhough they have cookies.

Hehe. Mmm, dark side cookies. I mean, no, no dark side cookies.

or else I'm going to...To...Tickle you to death.

Damn! I knew I should have used that as Buffy's threat instead of just kicking his ass. Lol, just playing. But now that I think of it, he's actually probably more scared of rainbows and puppies.

Okey, my computer is like that, software there, but don't want to use it. Can I call it Anya?

If you really wanna call your computer Anya, by all means, go ahead. Be warned though, your computer may start an online company and become obsessed with money ;) Thanks for reading.

The Rose24: Hey Rose :)

I am glad Willow does the right thing this time.

I am too. She should have done the right thing in the original season sux, but this is her "second" chance.

I never trusted him as far as I could throw him. For me, that wouldn't be very far.

I gotta say, I'm with you on that boat. In fact, Spike was always one of my least favorite characters. I loathed the "Spuffy" relationship and I onyl really liked Spike when he was evil. But after watching the Tabula Rasa episode, I saw his natural instincts thending towards the side of good. Made me cut him some slack in this story ;) Thanks for the feedback.

cantbefredless: Hey Fredless.

Oh Wow!!!! hehe wow!!! more more more!!!!!!

Lol, I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and guess that you might have, maybe a little, just the slightest bit enjoyed the chapter. But it's just a hunch. I promise I'll update as soon as I have the chapter written. Thanks for the reply!

Oooh. *Rubs hands together gleefully* More replies...

JujuDeRoussie: Hola :wave Lol, sorry about that. I usually reply to feedback a day or two after posting a new chapter. But I always reply to more :)

It's good to let another chance to Willow even if it's her fault if they all lost their memory.

I definitely agree. I wanted this story to be another chance, because techincally, she hasn't gone to Rack yet. I feel like this is Willow's chance to change her mistakes. I know you're afraid of Rack. Heck, I'm afraid of Rack. Lol.

For Randy, I wonder what kind of new clothes he will buy... ^^

Heh, you know I wasn't planning on putting that in an update, but your musing gave me a small idea. I guess we shall see ;) Thanks for reading and glad to see you're still waiting patiently.

Emms: Hey! Good to see you back.

eww.... I can't stand Rack... *grumble* But I'm glad Willow had a chance to "just say no"

Lol. I ditto the can't standing Rack, and I'm also glad Willow got the chance to say no. I just hope all the kittens remember that in this story, Willow hasn't gone to Rack yet. Yes, she screwed up already, but hopefully she'll make things right ;) Glad you're enjoying it and thanks again for the feedback.

Tabula Rasa Perpetua

Chapter 8- Dreams

A few hours after Willow, Tara, and Buffy had arrived at home, the group disbanded for the night, having found nothing more in the books that would help. Buffy had given the rest of the group a small overview of the events at the Magic Box. Rupert had taken off his glasses and cleaned them with the cloth he found in his pocket while muttering a “dear lord” under his breath. Anya and Alex had moved closer together in an effort to draw comfort from one another, and Dawn had given a hug to each of them. They all agreed it was best that Willow be careful, even after hearing about Buffy’s threat to the warlock. They all arranged to meet back at Buffy’s house the next morning to continue research, although the optimism of the group was fading with each hour of fruitless study. After that, Anya and Alex went to Alex’s apartment, while Rupert went to the address he had found on his driver’s license.

Buffy was lying in her bed, looking at the ceiling. She couldn’t shake the feeling that getting rid of the warlock had been too easy. I mean really. Put up my fists and he poofs? Doesn’t seem like a guy like that would scare so easy. Turning on her side, her eyes found the picture on her nightstand. It was a photo of Alex, Willow and herself in bright red gowns on graduation day, their arms slung around each other in a show of deep friendship. The image next to it showed Dawn and her mother sitting together on the couch. While the pictures did not bring up any memories, they did inspire a fierce protective instinct. The unease about the warlock was still fresh in her mind, but she knew that she would never let anything happen to them. Pushing the thoughts from her head, Buffy rolled on to her back and let sleep overtake her mind.

--------------------

In the room at the end of the hall, Willow was wrapped around Tara in a restful sleep. Tara looked down at the woman in her arms and smiled. There were no lights on in the room, but the moonlight shining through the window was enough to illuminate her love. Willow was sleeping peacefully, her face serene and the most beautiful thing Tara had ever seen. Tara brought up the arm that was not holding Willow and stroked her lover’s forehead. She moved her fingers down Willow’s nose and across her lips. Her fingers kept traveling downwards, past Willow’s chin, neck, and chest. She stopped there, not wanting to wake the woman in her arms. Willow needed her sleep, especially after everything that had happened today. She smiled at the events that had transpired after the rest of the group had left.

Tara and Willow walked into their room, their hands still intertwined. Tara pulled Willow around to face her, a smile gracing her features. “I know I already told you before sweetie, but I really am proud of you.” Willow returned the smile and brought Tara’s hand up to kiss each finger.

“I just wish I knew what I did,” Willow murmured. “I read a little bit about resurrections today, after we got home.” She paused and looked into Tara’s eyes. “It’s dark, baby. The magic you use to do something like that.” Tears formed in her eyes. “It’s always dark,” she whispered.

Tara pulled Willow into a tight embrace, determined to let her know that what she did today was the right thing. “Oh sweetie. What you did, turning down,” she refused to say his name, “that warlock, it was so brave.” She kissed Willow and pulled back once more to gaze into her lover’s eyes. “Whatever you did, whatever happened that we can’t remember. I’m just so proud of you.”

Willow smiled brightly and the tears in her eyes dissipated. She pulled Tara back for another kiss, this time much more passionate. They pulled back, their foreheads resting against each other. “I love you so much, Tara. How do you make me so happy?”

Tara looked at Willow, the love she felt for the red-head evident in her gaze. “Magic,” she whispered. The two lovers went to bed, and for the next couple of hours, Tara showed Willow just how proud of her she was.

Tara pulled Willow tighter against her as she snuggled into the warmth of the embrace. Before slipping off into sleep, she remembered her dream once more, but instead of focusing on the terrible images her mind had created, she remembered the words that the other Tara had said. Another chance. She couldn’t help but think that perhaps it wasn’t just another chance for Willow, but for her as well. Sleep finally overtook her body and mind as her worries evaporated.

--------------------

Rack was lying on the couch in his sanctum; sparks flying from his fingers as the latest benefactor of his dark magick high lay sprawled out on the floor. Although he couldn’t see it from the room, he knew that night had fallen and the moon outside was full. Strawberry and her little girlfriend would be asleep by now. He rose from the couch and threw the junkie from the room with a push of dark energy. Closing his eyes, he breathed deeply, trying to sense Willow’s magic in order to teleport to the right place. In his mind’s eye, he saw it. A dark red tendril of energy shining from a two-story house in Sunnydale suburbia. Rack smiled as he sensed the other energies coming from the house. Of course, strawberry’s little girlfriend was there, but so was the slayer, and another girl, weak though. Before he could take another breath, Rack was in Willow’s room.

--------------------

Tara walked through the dreamscape. She was in a field of sunflowers, holding tightly to Willow’s hand. They ran through the field, stopping every few feet to kiss. A tree appeared in the field, and Tara dropped to the ground beneath it, pulling Willow down with her. They snuggled together in the shade, the cool grass beneath them. A bubbling brook could be heard not far from the tree, and for a moment Tara wondered where the stream came from. She was almost certain that she hadn’t seen the stream earlier, but after seeing the purple eagle fly over head, she realized dreams didn’t have to make sense.

Tara turned to her side to gaze into Willow’s eyes. The red-head was looking back at her with such love and devotion, Tara could almost cry with happiness. She slowly leaned forwards to plant the sweetest kiss on her lips, but stopped as the sky began to darken. She couldn’t hear the bubbling brook anymore, and the grass all around her had died. She stood up quickly, making sure to keep a tight hold onto Willow, and looked above. The tree that had been lending its shade was now dead, the leaves cracked and falling to the ground. She gazed out across the field, only to find all the sunflowers diseased and dying. The sky above was dark with storm clouds. Tara looked to the side, but instead of finding Willow, she found Rack.

--------------------

He looked across the space to the bed, pleased to see the two women sound asleep. Being sure not to make a sound, Rack crossed the room and stopped at the foot of the bed. One touch. That’s all it would take. Rack stood at the foot of the bed, watching the two witches sleep. They were defenseless. Strawberry was wrapped up in her girlfriend’s arms. They looked so, happy, even in slumber. Rack smiled. This was going to be even more fun than he thought. As soon as Strawberry got a taste of his magick, she would be begging for more. It would just make it all the sweeter to watch her little girlfriend break down. Maybe she’d beg for his magick too. To lessen the hurt perhaps. He would have laughed if his current position didn’t demand silence. One touch. Without another thought, Rack moved from the foot of the bed and walked to Strawberry’s side of the mattress. It was time to make due on his promise.

--------------------

Tara wanted to be sick. The energy flow she felt from the warlock was making her nauseous, and all she wanted to do was pull away and run. But Rack was holding tightly to her hand, his onyx eyes boring into her soul, making her entire being feel wrong. Finally finding the strength within herself, she pulled free of his grasp and ran.

Sprinting across the now dead field, she took a moment to look back, and found Rack pursuing her, his feet not even touching the ground. She looked forwards again, and ran into the warlock that had somehow gotten in front of her. She fell onto her back and looked up, only to find the same black eyes staring at her. He smiled, and she cringed. He raised a hand and she was lifted up. Very slowly, he reached out a hand, the sparks flying off his fingers, looking for a soul to taint. His fingers reached closer, towards her chest, and she heard him speak. “I just want to take a little tour.”

--------------------

Rack moved a hand forwards and reached out towards Willow’s chest. A few feet away. Inches. Centimeters. From the other side of the bed, Tara’s hand shot out from the covers and clasped tightly onto Rack’s wrist. The dark magick that the warlock had been planning to shoot into Willow entered the newly formed connection. He could feel the dark energy flowing through himself and into the blonde witch’s essence.

--------------------

Tara’s eyes shot open, her body taut with the energy Rack had expelled. As the darkness entered her, she tried to fight it. For the briefest of moments, she thought about the love she shared with Willow, and the magick spell they had done together. Her body fought with all its strength, trying to force out the dark energy now within her being. As the stress became too much, blackness overtook her mind. The last thought she had before losing consciousness was of Willow.

--------------------

Willow awoke with a start, her eyes wide as she took in the scene right in front of her. Rack was beside her bed, his hand outstretched in a deadly gesture. Beside her, Tara’s body was tight with the internal battle it was raging, her fingers tightly grasped around Rack’s outstretched wrist. With a scream, she pushed out with her mind, pulling Tara’s hand off of Rack. She focused all of her attention on Tara as the blonde was released from Rack’s touch. Before she could say a word, Tara lost consciousness. “Tara!” Willow screamed. She turned towards Rack as her eyes turned pitch black. In a deadly whisper, Willow spoke. “I’ll kill you for that.”

Yikes! loved the update, but Rack makes me ill... I want to kick him a few times in his "boy bits" ...and perhaps afterward, he'll go away.

Willow and Tara are sweet together and so in love. And Tara is very protective over Willow... which is wonderful.

Your description of the Sunflowers in their dream reminded me a little of the sunflowers in Catching Sunflowers... I love the image of a field of Sunflowers.

But now Tara's been given a major dose of dark magic, and I'm more than a little worried about her... though, I like the way you're allowing Tara the opportunity to see just exactly what it's like for Willow and what feeling the addiction (if even to a lesser extent) is like... it may make her more sympathetic to Willow once the amnesia wears off and they discover the correlation between Willow's spell and their identity crisis.

cant wait for the next chapter.

Somehow I managed to scare my roommate two times so much, that she (at her own words) almost pissed at her pants.

Here I went all big Squee!!! There's no other way to describe it

And then, when Rack came I went all big-bad-evil-girl-protector. I'm glad my computertable seemed to be pretty strong. I showed to it what I'd do to Rack. And no, it wouldn't have been little tickling. (I said something about not touching either of our girls)

Sara....

Rack. He sucks. There's nothing else I can say.

I love the idea and the twists and turns you're leading us though. It's a very cool idea to dose Tara with the black magic junk, but leaving us hang like that was evil. I can only shake my head and call you a tease. And considering my reputation, that's quite a statement.

Keep up the good work and I'm dying to see where this leads.

Hello Sara!

You Evil!!! lol

Really a great update! I'm really curious to see where you go with Tara and her dose of black magic... but I see that Willow is all black eyes so I'm curious there too ^^

It could be very interesting to have Tara in addict of Rack's black magic... but I hope it's just a period... and after that she'll be able to do light magic again.

When I read an update this interesting I'm glad to wait patiently! It's worth of it ^^

Thank you

One of the greatest aspects of the series was that it gave us several alternate universes that are as rich (and full of fic-able opportunities) as the original. Most focus has been on the Wishverse, which makes me happy that you're writing one set in the TR-verse. (We should give this AU a cool name, cos TR-verse sounds too Doctor Who-y. May be Blankverse? :P)

Rack makes such a despicable villain. Buffy is right to be suspicious of how easy it was to dispatch him. Angsty set up you have here, I wonder how Tara's white magic can withstand Rack's dark magic; and how Willow reacts to this threat to Tara. With their memories, and the emotional baggage that comes with it, the Scoobies are stripped down to their truest selves. Is this Willow still capable of turning to the dark side? Is the potential for darkness inside her always? I hope not.

Going back a chapter or so to Tara's dream. I'm thinking whether getting their memories back and returning to "normal" is a good thing. But then it's like a cop-out, and running away. Many interesting questions.

Hey everyone :wave Sorry it's taken me so long to reply to the feedback. I was feeling under the weather for the past few days, and I didn't want to leave replies while I was in a bad mood. Anyways, back to replies :)

Emms: Hey Emms. Glad you loved the update. Always makes me happy when I can please the kittens ;)

Rack makes me ill... I want to kick him a few times in his "boy bits" ...and perhaps afterward, he'll go away.

Hehe, I totally understand. Rack is pretty evil, and your wish to have him kicked in the "boy bits" actually gives me an idea *smiles evilly*

You have no idea how happy I am that my description reminded you of your fic. You know I love that story so much, and I was actually thinking of that while I was writing that dream sequence :blush

I like the way you're allowing Tara the opportunity to see just exactly what it's like for Willow and what feeling the addiction (if even to a lesser extent) is like... it may make her more sympathetic to Willow once the amnesia wears off

Tara has been dosed with the bad magic, but I can't give any hints as to how that will affect the story. It might make her more sympathetic, it might not. Heck, the spell may never wear off. But who knows ;)

Thankyou for the feedback. Talk to you soon.

Numen: Hiya Numen.

Somehow I managed to scare my roommate two times so much, that she (at her own words) almost pissed at her pants.

Lmao. I do that to my girlfriend, hehehe. Sometimes you just have to squee ;) I'm glad my story makes you react strongly. Means I'm doing my job right ;) Thanks for reading.

Diane: Heya!

Rack. He sucks. There's nothing else I can say.

Hehe, totally. Sums up my feelings about him perfectly. I'm so glad you're loving the twists and turns. I tried to make a story that had a good number of shocks in it, and nothing makes me happier than a reader who enjoys my story.

I can only shake my head and call you a tease. And considering my reputation, that's quite a statement.

Thanks so much sweetie. Believe me, I take that as a compliment of the highest order. Considering how much of a tease you are ;) Thanks so much for reading and the feedback. Talk to you soon.

The Rose24: Hey Rose :) Yes, Rack is invading their dreams, evil evil man that he is.

He needs to die a slow and painful death.

I could not agree more, though I've actually been debating this. Maybe someone can answer it. Is Rack human? Anyways, thankyou for reading. I'll keep trying to keep you on the edge.

Julia: Hey Julia :) Evil? Moi? Hehe, maybe just a bit.

I'm really curious to see where you go with Tara and her dose of black magic... but I see that Willow is all black eyes so I'm curious there too ^^

I like making people curious. Makes me happy. All I can tell you is that you'll have to keep reading ;)

When I read an update this interesting I'm glad to wait patiently! It's worth of it ^^

Aww, thanks so much. And thankyou for reading and the feedback. Talk to you soon.

Kendahl897: Glad you're loving it. I loved the episode so much, so it makes me happy that you like this story. Thanks for reading :)

watty: Hey watty. I definitely agree with you about the alternative universes. This series produced so many ways that fans could appreciate the show. I have to say, fics that are set in the wish-verse always hold a special place in my heart. Vamp-willow is just, well, you know :blush TR-verse does sound kind of dopy though. Blankverse huh? Well, seeing as I think this is the first fic in it, how about we have a little show of opinions. Everyone, please feel free to post an idea for what this universe should be called.

Rack makes such a despicable villain.

So very true. But that's why he's fun to use. He's someone easy to hate and to be honest, fun to write as a hateful character. I have always been one of those people who likes villians in a way. I mean, the Mayor and Glory were just some great villians. But Rack was always one who struck me more as creepy than cool.

Angsty set up you have here, I wonder how Tara's white magic can withstand Rack's dark magic; and how Willow reacts to this threat to Tara.

Hmm, intersting thoughts you're having. Guess you'll just have to wait and see.

Is this Willow still capable of turning to the dark side? Is the potential for darkness inside her always?

Once again, intersting questions you're bringing up. To be honest, after reading all of this feedback, I'm possibly rethinking my ending. You all have brought up alot of intersting ideas, and it makes me think maybe I could change some things. Hmm. Glad you're enjoying the story. Always makes me happy to know someone is intrigued enough to question. Thanks again for reading and the feedbck.

Tabula Rasa Perpetua

Chapter 9- Tabula Rasa Perpetua Perfectus

Buffy’s eyes snapped open as she heard a scream echo through the house. She threw the covers off and jumped out of bed. Opening the door so hard that she pulled it off its hinges, Buffy ran out of the room and towards the end of the hall. She opened the door and stood there in shock for a few seconds. While there were no lights on in the room, the full moon shining through the window lit up the scene. Tara was on the bed, unconscious or worse, Buffy couldn’t be sure. Willow screamed Tara’s name and then turned towards the other figure in the room. Buffy’s fist clenched as she realized that it was Rack. She couldn’t make out what Willow had said, but what she saw next made her want to scream. Willow turned back towards Tara for one fleeting second, and in that time, Buffy saw Willow’s eyes. The moonlight reflected off of them made them appear even blacker than Rack’s. Although Buffy was no witch, she could feel the dark energy coming off of Willow in waves.

Buffy ran the rest of the way into the room. She jumped over the bed and landed a solid kick into Rack’s chest. The warlock went flying into the wall and slumped down to the floor. He sat there unmoving for a few moments, his head on his chest in a display of lifelessness. Buffy took that chance to check on Willow. The red-head had risen from the bed; her eyes still a deadly shade of black, her body shaking with anger. Buffy took a step towards her, intent on trying to calm her down, but she was distracted by Rack. He took a shuddering breath and rose immediately from the floor. With the wave of his hand, he sent Buffy into the air where she stayed suspended there for longer than gravity should have allowed. With a flick of his wrist, Buffy was sent crashing back down to the floor with enough force to crack her spine had she been not been the slayer, and with another movement, she was propelled into the wall behind her, smashing into the hard surface with a dull thud. Rack smiled as he heard the thump and, realizing Buffy had lost consciousness for the moment, turned towards Willow.

-------------------

Randy strolled through the cemetery, the black jeans and t-shirt he was wearing striking a contrast between his pale skin and platinum blonde hair. He smiled as he came upon a vampire stalking a meal.

The girl hurried through the cemetery, with each step looking more and more terrified. She clutched her grocery bag to her chest and began to run. The man behind her sprinted to catch up, and before she could scream, he appeared in front of her. He smiled through his demonic visage and gave her a small wave. “Hi,” he said, the fangs causing his words to become slightly garbled, “I’m Dusty, and you’ll be my meal tonight.” She opened her mouth to scream, but the sound was cut off as she felt Dusty’s hands clamp down on her shoulders. Her body went limp as she resigned herself to this fate. Silently berating herself for taking a shortcut through the cemetery, she closed her eyes tightly and waited for the inevitable bite. But it never came.

Randy stalked the vampire, watching his every move until he eventually caught his prey. Silently, Randy crept behind the vampire and tried not to laugh at the bloodsucker’s line. He slapped his own hands onto Dusty’s shoulders and pulled, hard. Dusty was pulled away from the girl and flew backwards, falling on the ground as Randy moved.

-------------------

Willow didn’t notice as Buffy ran into the room and sailed over the bed. Nor did she notice as Buffy kicked Rack into the wall. The darkness in her body was overpowering. It filled every cell; she could feel the energy surging from every inch of skin. Willow stood up from the bed and fixed her black eyes on Rack.

-------------------

Dusty shook his head and jumped up from the ground. He jammed his right hand into his pocket and pulled out the dark crystal he’d found yesterday in the sewer. Trying his best to look menacing, Dusty thrust the crystal forwards and stood his ground, his face still demonically morphed.

Randy looked down at the crystal in Dusty’s hand and did the unthinkable. He laughed. He laughed so hard, that had he not been a vampire, he would have passed out from lack of oxygen. When he regained control of himself, he saw Dusty still standing there, a look of confusion settled over his features. Without giving Dusty the chance to react, Randy pulled the spike of wood from his back pocket and ran forwards the last few feet to Dusty. He thrust the stake into Dusty’s chest and smiled at the resulting poof.

-------------------

The warlock stood up and magically threw Buffy into the air and across the room. Yet Willow still didn’t move. She focused on the energy inside of herself, and set her mind to the task of killing Rack.

-------------------

The crystal that had been in Dusty’s hand fell to the ground on top of a cement grave. Randy shrugged his shoulders and brought one of his black boots down on the crystal. The stone shattered without much force, and then Randy felt an explosion in his mind.

-------------------

Willow advanced on Rack, her anger evident in every step she took towards the warlock. As she raised her hand to try and throw Rack across the room, she blinked, and for a few moments the world went black. When she rejoined reality, she was still standing a few feet from Rack; only a couple of seconds had passed, but now things were different. Willow remembered everything.

DIBS ^^

Okay I read now :-D

Oh my God!!! See your end? You're evil I tell you one more time!!! ^^

Wow... I didn't see that one coming... the crystal is broken... Dusty has been... well... dust and Randy broke the crystal... And when Rack is attacking Willow who has still her black eyes... of course... but know has been a little distracted by the return of her memories...
And how tara is gonna react now that she'll remember (when she'll wake up), I mean in the show she leaves Willow at that oment, but you chaned many things... Willow who turn down Rack's first offer, and Tara who has been shot by Rack's dose of black magic... everything is different.
And now that I think about it I see that the end is not as near as I thought first when I read this chapter.

Well done Mademoiselle Sara. It was a really good chapter. But again, you Evil!!! I know I keep saying that I'm a nut, but you really are going to drive me nut!!! lol

Okay I stop there, and I'm back in my little basket as the good kitten that I am :kitty

Thank you for this update, talk to you soon,

Okay, that was a surprise. I really thought that when Dusty got um...dusty, the crystal would go poof with him, a la vamp clothes and stakes all the other stuff that seems to disappear when they do. Maybe it's because it has magical properties it can't be poofed? I dunno. It would be funny if it had...a little play on the whole "you'll stay like that some day" adage. Brilliant cliffy, too. I can't wait to find out what happens when Tara wakes up with her memories back (assuming she does wake up, and doesn't have amnesia, etc...I'm trying not to assume anything anymore!).

This is such a nice twist on canon, and I look forward to seeing where you take this.

Wow, Sara, that was really cool!

The biggest thing you've managed to do here is set my wild speculative side into action. Ok, the crystal is dealt with and Willow remembers everything. Does this now mean that she comes clean with it? I mean pre-spell Willow probably would lie about it, right? She was trying to help everyone but screwed up, and now Rack is involved, and could (to me) be the perfect patsy for Willow to deflect the blame from herself and onto him. I know I'm not giving her much credit here, but she did create quite a mess, and now she could potentially walk away, scot-free. Hmmmm... I wonder.

I'm sorry but I'm still a little bleary from being sick, but it seems to me that you've just opened another mystical can of worms. I can't wait to see where you go with this. Well done!

*Faints* (means, can't think now, going to edit later when I get something to say)

Edit: Okey. First; Wow second; Oh my god! third; Wow!!
Willow becoming all blackeye (scary!), chrystal breaking and memories coming back.
How those will mix? And what about Tara, how all these things will affect her?
And why I don't have fingernails, when I'd need them the most?

Hello again :wave Time for me to reply to my feedback. I'm in the process of writing chapter 10 but school is evil, so I'm gonna say that it should be posted by Saturday at the latest.

Julia: Hi :wave Lol, I'm not that evil. Just a lil bit. Tiniest speck.

I didn't see that one coming... the crystal is broken... Dusty has been... well... dust and Randy broke the crystal... And when Rack is attacking Willow who has still her black eyes... of course... but know has been a little distracted by the return of her memories...

Lol, that just about sums it up. But c'mon, you had to know Dusty would be dust eventually. Just look at his name ;-) I remember when I was writing this chapter that it seemed like alot of stff happened, but it will be resolved, promise :)

And how tara is gonna react now that she'll remember (when she'll wake up), I mean in the show she leaves Willow at that oment, but you chaned many things...

I wonder how Tara's gonna react. *Scratches head and chin* Can't tell you, but please remember that in accordance with the FAQ' I have to give you a happy ending. Thanks so much for reading. Talk to you soon.

Cameron: Hey Cam :wave Surprised huh? Good. I like when people don't expect things :)

I really thought that when Dusty got um...dusty, the crystal would go poof with him, a la vamp clothes and stakes all the other stuff that seems to disappear when they do. Maybe it's because it has magical properties it can't be poofed?

Erm, uh, various sounds of hesitation. To be honest, I didn't even think about it. But since you've given me such a great reason, I think I'll run with it. Ahem, so anyways, of course that's the reason. Crystal, magical properties. It works like that :)

I can't wait to find out what happens when Tara wakes up with her memories back (assuming she does wake up, and doesn't have amnesia, etc...I'm trying not to assume anything anymore!).

Lol. So you're at the point where you assume nothing. Yay! Well, once again, this board promises a happy ending, even though he middle may be dark. Thanks for reading.

Dianneswillowtree: Hi Diane :wave Lol, you agree with Julia? I'm not that evil, am I? Glad you're enjying the story. Thnks for the feedback :)

Diane: Hey, um, other Diane :wave Hehe. Yay for really cool.

The biggest thing you've managed to do here is set my wild speculative side into action.

I love being able to influence speculation. I think one of the best things an author can do is get people guessing. So thankyou. So many questions though. And unfortunately, I can't answer any of them. The next chapter might, though ;)

I know I'm not giving her much credit here, but she did create quite a mess, and now she could potentially walk away, scot-free. Hmmmm... I wonder.

You're very right about that. But once again, you're gonna have to read the chapter to find out.

I'm sorry but I'm still a little bleary from being sick, but it seems to me that you've just opened another mystical can of worms.

I'm sorry you were sick :aww But yes, a mystical can of worms. Except, eww. I don't like worms, but how about a mystical can of something that's not worms. Anyways, I'm so happy you're enjoying it. Talk to you later.

Numen: Hi :wave Don't faint. Bad for your health, I think :)

Edit: Okey. First; Wow second; Oh my god! third; Wow!!
Willow becoming all blackeye (scary!), chrystal breaking and memories coming back.
How those will mix? And what about Tara, how all these things will affect her?

Hehe, I loved your edit. Once again, more questions that I can't answer. But I promise the next chapter should help. Thanks for reading.

Sandman78: Hiya :wave I'm happy you're enjoying it enough to be hooked. More as soon as possible. Thanks for the feedback.
