darkmagicwillow: Yeah, I noticed the Canon/Fandom thread... right after I did my little speech here. Heh. I'm glad you liked the 'afterwards' summary. I felt the story ended well as it was, and wouldn't have been suited to a proper epilogue, but I'm glad to have it 'on record' that they, well, lived happily ever after.
Grimlock72: I know, I know...
About the way TARA turned out, I'd intended for it to be a straight-forward action adventure, very much in the same style as Tron - flashy, exciting, but basically a bit of entertaining fluff without too much substance. The main elements I didn't imagine when I started: the convoluted nature of Willow and Tara's relationship until they sorted it out; the exposition on program beliefs and their reactions to being without their users; the refugees at the I/O tower; the entire nexus/Sailer hangar sequence; Echelon's plan to invade Earth; Sark's death at Rain's hands; and finally Willow's journey into the mind of Echelon. Those are the main 'surprises' (as opposed to just things I made up as I went along) - the parts of the story where I *thought* I knew what was going to happen, and it turned out differently.
