Hey!!!

Ok i back off a bit, but i dont have to like Jamie, right? :paranoid I know that W&T will be together in the end and all, but still i dont really like to see, that someone trys to get between them. I dont have anything against drama but i dunno, that jamie seems TOUGH:p

So lets get me some jamie-power but not too much and i trust u that u will give us a happy-ending. And maybe a lil punishment for jamie too?;) well i take what i´ll get..

Great update! I see a night with snuggles, smoochies and a bit more:D :party

great update

Postby Karmah » Tue Mar 16, 2004 4:31 pm

See I can totally understand why James hit on Tara I mean given the opportunity we all would have done the same so I can't fault the girl for that.

and Willow I can totally understand where she is coming from she doesn't get how this amazing wonderful incredible woman pick her Willow still sees herself as the old reliable dog person. So with that outlook upon herself its not difficult to see how that jealousy and insecurity could feed there. I hope Tara can show her how wrong that self image is.

Great Update :applause

I don't think I have read a story where Willow is so jealous, but can you blame her?

I am glad Tara keeps showing Willow over and over again that Willow is the only one for her. I hope she deals with Jamie soon but tactfully.

Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.

Tara: Willow, I got so lost.

Willow: I found you. I will always find you.

hey...nice update..I have to say a quiet Willow is very odd..she's never quiet..something must be up...I doubt she was lying when she talking about her plans for James but we shall see...Keep up the good work...Tara isn't the unconfident one in this fic..I like it..gives us a chance to see how Willow would have reacted and kinda of should have reacted if she was in Tara's position...Update soon!

Yeah... quiet Willow is kind of weird you know... I mean, Willow's never quiet. She must be damn pissed at James for that...

Willow: Hey Buff. One more thing. Buffy: Yeah? Willow: I’m gay. Buffy: Okay, Will. Xander owes me ten bucks.

Whew, update at last. Thanks for all your responses, kittens It really means a lot.

Sam darls: Thanks Sammi xx

Worriorlove: James is very aggressive and goes after what she wants. I've met a few women like that in my 24-25 years of living (It's my birthday at the end of this month. :bounce :bounce I saw in my profile that i'm already 25. Don't know how that happened) Anyway i've met women like james and they've always made me uncomfortable because they're so intimidating.

lil wiccan: Willow definiately made Tara very happy. :)

Stroke of Luck: No, you don't have to like Jamie. It's a hard balance for me writing this story because I don't really want to make James the Villan. I wanted her to be likeable and therefore much more dangerous in her advances. But then again, I didn't want to make her too likeable. It's a strange balance that I'm still trying to get a grip on.

Karmah: Yeah, you struck the nail on the head. Willow is still very insecure about herself in this story and I wanted to bring that point across. Glad you picked up on it.

The Rose: Tara will deal with Jamie eventually. If she doesn't, Willow certainly will.

Seldomly Naughty/Tempest Duer: I agree Willow being quiet is very odd. I hope it shows how pissed off she is.

Wired vixen: Hey, I'm glad I gave you warm fuzzies :eyebrow and thanks for your compliment about my writing. :) Hope you like the update.

Disclamer: as before

That Crazy Thing Called Love

Tara woke up at six-thiry the next morning. She blinked up at the ceiling for a few moments, trying to shake the cobwebs of sleep. Then she turned, glanced to her side and watched Willow lovingly. Willow was sprawled on her back, sleeping deeply, the wrinkled sheet that they had dived under in the wee morning hours, now falling of her body so that one breast was tantalizingly exposed.

Tara ran her hand lightly over Willow's silky red hair, leaned forward and kissed her softly on the forehead. Then she got up, picked up Willow's pajamas from the floor and moved naked towards the bathroom. She brushed her teeth, after placing the pajamas in the laundry basket, then pushed back the curtain and ran the shower.

Her face was thoughtful as she stepped under the water. She had a whole of classes today and she sensed that at some point she was going to bump into Jamie Taylor. Tara felt her entire body tense. She barely knew the woman, but already she was causing problems for her and Willow. I'd better put an end to this quickly, Tara thought as she squeezed a portion of shampoo into her palm.

She hated seeing Willow so insecure and jealous. She sighed as she massaged her hair, worked the shampoo into a thick lather. Something told her that James Taylor was not going away lightly. It was obvious that the girl was very determined and not used to being turned down.

****

"It's your fault that I couldn't wake up this morning," Willow grumbled as she pulled the civic to a screeching halt in the crowded parking lot of U.C. Sunnydale. "Making love on a week night. Who ever heard of that? Now we're late as hell."

"We made love every night for a week, darling," Tara grinned. "And tell me you didn't enjoy every second of it."

"That's not the point," Willow mock frowned. She flung the seat belt away from her body, reached in the back for her book bag. "We're beginning to act like a couple of sex starved jack rabbits. No, I take that back. Jack rabbits would be shocked at our behavior."

Tara giggled, reached forward to help Willow with her laptop.

"All this sex is making me delinquent," Willow continued to grumble. She flung open the car door, fumbled with her books and bag before stepping out. "Imagine me being late for class. Willow Rosenberg is never late for class. Everyone's going to know that something's up."

"What, the fact that you've turned into a jack rabbit?" Tara asked with a straight face.

"That's not funny, Tara MaClay," Willow replied, as they both stepped out of the car. But she twisted the key in the lock, looked across at Tara and smiled broadly. "So not funny."

Around them, university students were walking about briskly. Willow hurried towards Tara, kissed her quickly on the lips. "Meet me at lunch," she said breathlessly. "Cafeteria, about one?"

Tara nodded, watched with amusement as Willow rushed away. Then she remembered the laptop in her hands and called out loudly, "Will! Willow!"

Willow hurried back, her bag strapped around her shoulder, books pressed against her midriff, red hair slightly ruffled, a few strands flying adorably into her eyes.

"I love you," she said, kissing Tara again as she reached for the laptop.

"I love you," Tara replied. She was aware that some of the students were watching them and she felt her face flushing slightly. But she didn't look away. She stood there, biting her lip watching Willow until she disappeared inside the main hall.

****

She was taking a course in Comparative Literature and she spent her morning sitting through reading after reading. Finally, after a long, critical examination of Gustave Flaubert's Madam Bovary, Professor Bennett dismissed them, and Tara gathered her books and bag, and hurried out into the hallway. Students were moving about studiously here and there. Tara glanced at her watch, noticed that it was twelve-thirty, and decided to begin the ten minute walk across campus towards the main cafeteria.

When she got there the place was packed with students. Tara hugged her books in front of her and searched for a table, finally finding one in a far corner of the room. She sat down, glanced at her watch again. She had fifteen minutes to kill before Willow would join her, so she pulled out Madam Bovary from her bag and began idly going through the pages.

She read for a few minutes, looked up distractedly and then stiffened. James Taylor was chattering with a group of girls at a table not too far away. She glanced up at Tara at almost the same time, and Tara groaned inwardly, turned again to the book she was reading and flipped some more pages. She tried to look absorbed with what she was reading but ten minutes later, James had left her table and was standing before her.

"Hi," she said, regarding Tara with interest.

Tara looked up and said quietly, "Hello."

"Waiting for someone?" James stuck out her chin inquisitively.

"Actually, yes," Tara replied. Then she added deliberately. "My girlfriend. She's going to be joining me in a moment."

"Hmm," James nodded slowly. She stood there for a moment, seemingly unfazed by Tara's response. Then she pulled out a chair and sat down.

Tara watched her quietly. James held her gaze, as though trying to read some hidden message in her eyes. Then she pushed a few strands of hair behind her ear, and said,

"I hope you've completely forgotten about your first impression of me."

"Actually, I've tried to forget about you completely," Tara replied, coldly.

James smiled, her eyes dark and challenging. "I doubt that."

"You're very strange," Tara frowned.

"Why? Because I like you?"

"Because you won't take no for an answer."

"I won't take no for an answer because I think we have something."

"We don't," Tara said, flatly. "I'm deeply in love with my girlfriend and as I told you before. I don't want to be with anyone else."

Jamie leaned back in her chair. She looked as though she was about to say something else, but then she stopped. Tara noticed that the girl's gaze had traveled passed her, and she twisted around, and then felt her stomach tighten.

Willow was standing near the entrance of the cafeteria, bag strapped around her shoulder, books in hand, staring at them. Tara had never seen her look so angry.

to be continued...

That Crazy Thing Called Love

Tara held her breath as Willow made her way to the table. She moved quickly passed the blithely eating students, her normally happy features sullen and marked with jealousy. Then she stood before them, cheeks burning red, her eyes darkened to a very intense shade of green.

Tara got up immediately and reached for Willow's hand. She felt badly. She knew that she had done nothing to encourage James to move over to her table, yet still she felt somehow responsible. Somewhere in her logical mind she sensed her reaction had something to do with the way James was sitting before her. The girl's slender body was leaning half way across the table in a faintly intimate pose, her eyes cool and curious, staring casually at Willow as though she was a stranger.

Tara felt her body tense even further. No matter how she felt about her, Tara couldn't deny the girl's beauty. She was attractive normally, but today it seemed she had gone out of her way to look special. Her dark hair fell softly passed her shoulders, and she was wearing a white sleeveless top with abstract silver markings to the front, and tight low fitting jeans.

Tara knew how she would have felt if she saw Willow sitting with someone like that. She squeezed Willow's fingers gently, hoping the gesture would calm her down a little, leaned foward and kissed her softly on the mouth.

"Hi, baby."

Willow took in a sharp breath as if trying to keep a grip on her emotions. She mumbled, "hi," then placed her books down on the table and dropped her bag on the floor near one of the chairs.

"I s-saved a table for us," Tara told her. "I didn't want to order before you got here."

Willow nodded distractedly. Then she darted a look at James, who amazingly continued to look cooly back at her, making no effort to leave.

Eventully, after a brief but very awkward silence, Tara leaned towards Willow, feeling more than a little flustered, and whispered,

"W-we could f-find another table. I-if-if you want."

Willow shook her head and frowned.

"No," she said. "This one's fine."

She pulled out a chair and sat down. Tara sat down beside her, fidgeted for a moment because she was uncertain what to do next. Then, after another very awkward silence, she raised her head, looked across at James and said,

"J-Jamie, I think you should leave."

The girl lenaed back casually, unembarrassed, and replied, "Sure," and gathered herself to go when Willow stopped her.

"Wait a minute," she said, in a voice that was a fraction lower normal.

Tara glanced at her, and she felt herself holding her breath again. Willow's mouth was set in a rigid line, and her eyes were flashing with anger.

"If I ever see you near Tara again," she said slowly, and very deliberately. "you'll live to regret it."

James raised her eyebrows in surprise. Then she said, "Easy Rosenberg. We were only talking. Tara's allowed to have friends, right?" The last words were said sarcastically.

"I mean it," Willow said, her voice rising slightly. "My fists will be all over your face if you don't back off!"

A few students glanced over to their table curiously, and Tara reached under the table for Willow's hand.

"This might sound a little crazy to you," Willow continued, lifting her hand which was now intertwined tightly with Tara's and resting it on the table. "But we're committed to each other." She pointed to their matching gold rings. "That's what this means. It means we love each other and I really don't appreciate you trying to ruin that."

"God, you're insecure," James snapped. "I only met Tara a few days ago. I thought she was cool and wanted to be friends. I didn't think I had to ask your permission for that."

"I don't want to be your friend," Tara said with exasperation. "How many times must I tell you that?"

James sat up in her seat. She flicked her dark hair away from her face, and seemed be debating something in her mind. Finally, she came right out and said it.

"I know I didn't misread the connection we have."

"You did," Tara said, shocked by the girl's boldness. "Please leave me alone."

James stared at her silently.

"Leave me alone," Tara said again. She felt Willow move closer to her and she leaned into the protective softness of her arms with relief. "Leave us alone. I don't want to be your friend or anything else. I just want to be left alone. I just want to sit here and have a quiet lunch with my girlfriend without having anyone interrupt us. Please."

James continued to watch her silently. Then she scraped back her chair in a harsh, sudden movement, defeat twisting her pretty features. She grabbed her bag, strapped it around her shoulders and without saying another word, turned around and walked out of the cafeteria.

Tara let out a long, silent breath. "God," she said. "That was weird."

"She's weird," Willow scowled.

Tara turned and looked at her, smiled slightly. "My fists will be all over your face?" she said, uttering Willow's earlier threat.

"And I meant every word," Willow said.

"I know," Tara chuckled. She traced the bright spots on Willow's cheeks with her fingers, then leaned foward and kissed each of them softly.

"I saw the two of you sitting there," Willow shook her head. "and I just freaked."

"Yeah," Tara said quietly.

"I swear, if that girl comes near you again..."

"I don't think we have to worry about her again, Will," Tara replied. "She's got the message. Finally."

The cafeteria was now almost empty. Students had gone back to their respective classes, and only a few were scattered here and there, eating quietly.

Tara pulled away from Willow for a moment, glanced across at the enclosed buffet of food thoughtfully. Then she bit her lip and said,

"Baby, how many classes do you have this afternoon?"

"Two," Willow replied, and at the same time glanced down at her watch. Then she groaned loudly. "The first one starts in ten minutes. We're going to have to hurry if we're going to eat anything."

"I...um..." Tara began hesitantly. She bit her lip again, and then continued. "I don't have any more classes. I was thinking...well...the house is sure to be empty at this time of day. No Buffy, or Xander, or Dawn...no one. We could...um...sneak back there and...you know..."

Willow stared at her in confusion, and then suddenly her eyes widened as the realization struck her.

"Tara..." she glanced to her side although the closest student was more than three tables away. "What's gotten into you?"

"I don't know," Tara grinned. "You were so...butch a while ago. Sort of turned me on."

Willow grinned back, contemplating the possibility. Then she whispered.

"We can't make love on empty stomachs."

"That's what fast food joints are for, baby," Tara said, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "We'll stop at one along the way."

"Okay," Willow breathed. Then she said, "I hope you know that I'm sacrificing my education for you. I'm skipping two very important classes, and you know who I am about that. I don't think I've ever misssed a class in my entire life and here I am doing it now, because, well, Tara kissage is just irresistible and who would want to miss that anyway..."

Tara smiled, grabbed her hand and stood up. They gathered their books and hurried out of the cafeteria. They walked the halls quickly, passed the sauntering students, until they reached the large, spacious parking lot.

Just before they reached the tiny silver civic, Willow rushed in front of Tara excitedly. Then she stopped in her tracks, turned around and started miming her impatience. Tara laughed with amusement as Willow made the most forlorn expression. She pointed to her watch, clasped her hands and stuck her lip out. Then a second later she was grinning broadly in that warm, goofy way that was typical Willow.

Tara felt her breath catch in her throat. She breathed in deeply, watched as Willow reached the car, stuck the key in the lock.

There, Tara thought to herself. Right there stands the love of my life. She may be quirky and a little nerdy, but she's the other half of my soul. I love her more than life itself, and I wouldn't change her for anything.

THE END

thanks kittens for all the feedback. hope you all enjoyed it :flower
