This didn’t feel like 8 years later; it felt like it was happening all over again. You captured the rawness of the pain so well here. It was really heart wrenching how Willow persevered with listening to Buffy reading the letters.



Maybe Sheila and Buffy had the best of intentions in keeping Tara's whereabouts from Willow, but Willow was right, it wasn't their decision to make.

Hey Jenn,

        Well that was intense to say the least. I read your update as soon as you posted it and I had to think about it overnight to be able to comment on it fully. Letting things sink in I’ve come to realize that my initial feelings of Willow forgiving too easily were totally premature. You see I think about it this way now, eight years is a long time to be walking around an empty shell. Willow’s heart and soul walked away from her and knowing it was all her fault made it an even heavier burden. But that empty lonely feeling gets to be tiresome and even though her mom and Buffy did what they did with the best of intentions sometimes it takes more energy to hold a grudge.

I can’t help to think of what could have been. Sure it’s never too late, but we’ll never know what could have happened if Willow would have received those letters back when they were initially sent to her.

I love how Buffy was there for Willow, reading those letters to her. You could feel the anxiety one feels sometimes when you want to be there for someone, to help them get thru something emotional. Funerals are the worst cause there’s not much you could say to make things better, just be there in case they need something and lend support. Buffy handled the letter reading very well considering that they were dealing with a highly emotionally charged subject. Tara.

With the way this chapter ended, needless to say I can’t wait to read what happens next. Regardless of the cliffhanger I couldn’t help but smile and breath a sigh of relief.

Loving the fact that Tara came back to Sunnydale! But, i'm gettin ahead of myself! First off, the letters that Buffy read to Willow were so sad! I felt so bad for Willow and i got really mad at her mom for keeping them from her! And then Buffy trying to comfort her but ending up telling her about how she knew Tara was in LA for like, 3 months. Glad Willow forgave her though! But then Willow going to her mom's grave and telling her she was really mad, but that all would be forgevin if she just showed her a sigh!!! WELL!!! What a sign it was! Will couldn't have asked for a better one! :D Anyhow, i think this may be one of the longest replies i've ever posted, so i'm just gonna go reread that last part! Please let there be an update soon!

I wanted to show the friendship that Buffy and Willow have here. I miss seeing it. Buffy certainly hasn't been the same since the beginning of, "The Season which shall not be named." Sorry, just had to do that. I'm glad you didn't get mad at Buffy for what she did. I really do believe that she had legitimate reasons for not telling Willow she knew of Tara's whereabouts. We all know how Buffy gets when she wants to protect her friends.



Was that grave scene okay? I was hoping it would be. And there will be more about Tara arriving at the grave scene and why, in the next update and in Chapter 4. So, stay tuned.



Sadly, the flowers are for Willow's mom... not her.

Thank you. I was hoping I captured the scene well. That kind of pain can last a lifetime... it's sad. Especially if there's no closure. And I think Willow was somehow trying to be strong for Tara, when she was listening to Buffy... even though Tara wasn't there. That's how I saw it, anyway.



You're right. It wasn't their decision to make. Buffy... I could forgive her more easily. She's doing what she thought was right. But, Sheila... that has to hurt.

Intense, huh? I happen to agree with you on that. And you had to think about it overnight? WOW.



Willow forgiving her mother so easily. I agree with you on what you said. I think it also has to do with that fact that, Sheila has passed on. She's not there to be confronted about what she did, so what's the use in not forgiving her. Willow is angry with her, as she should be, and probably will be for awhile now. That's a given. But... I agree with you. Thank you.



I think about that, too. What would have happened if Willow had recieved those letters? In a way, I think it's best that she didn't. It gave her time to grow and mature... Tara, too. And they never really were apart... not in their hearts anyway. I just think it wouldn't have been the same if Willow had found them earlier.



Buffy loves her friends, that's a given. I've missed the friendship between her and Willow though. But... actually, I think it was just as hard for Buffy to read them, as it was for Willow to hear them. So sad. And I do think Buffy's tears were for Willow, cause she wouldn't cry.



I'm glad you thought Buffy handled reading them well. I was hoping it would come across that way.

What is Buffy panicking about, just the fact that Tara went to Sunnydale ?? Or does she know more about Tara then just her adress ?



Why would Tara come to Sunnydale after Sheila's funeral ? Did she ever speak to Sheila on the phone, she did try to call didn't she ??

Next on the witholding-information list... Ms. Buffy Summers... out of good intention I assume but exactly when did she plan on telling Willow, if ever ? Willow said it fine herself; it should have been her decision, people shouldn't try to decide for her.



I'm almost sorry Sheila is dead, would love to put her in prison for mail fraud. Evil, evil woman.... if anything she only caused Willow more pain and suffering.



Since Tara included her adress in the first letter Willow doesn't really need the information Buffy has of course. Since Tara appears to be in Sunnydale already there is no need for the adress at all .



The letters were sad to read, as I pretty much expected. The growing sorrow in them must be awfull to read, especially knowing that Willow could have made go away if she had just know about them .



Good thing Willow already knows about the letters she missed, before meeting Tara. Will be an akward meeting for starters I think. Once they both realize what happened there shouldn't be to much of problem getting back together. Eight year worth of stories to exchange



I still would have expected Tara to keep in touch with Dawn though...

Hey, Grimmy. WOW... so many questions.



Here goes...



What is Buffy panicking about? You'll find out in Chapter 4. That's all I can say about that right now. Part of the answer was in this last update; I can say that. I can answer one thing: Buffy, now, has no idea where Tara is... nor does Angel. And you'll find out what Angel has to do with this whole thing in the next couple of updates.



Um... yes, Tara did try to call. I can tell you that. What she's doing in Sunnydale... you'll have to wait and see.



Willow's dad had nothing to do with the letter keeping from Willow. He doesn't have any knowledge of it, to be exact. He will though, before the story is over. I'm thinking now, that there will probably be 5 or 6 chapters, instead of 4. There's just too much I need to cover first. And you're right... it's no fun yelling at dead people, but... I'm afraid, Sheila is the only one to blame.



Good question. I think Buffy would have told Willow sooner or later, that she knew where Tara was. When... no telling, though. Like I said, I think she had Willow's best interest at heart, but the way she handled it was all wrong. She should have told her that she knew of Tara's whereabouts and then let Willow decide on whether she wanted to know or not.



Yes, Sheila is an evil woman for doing what she did. It's sad that she could actually do that. There are people like that out there. I just can't believe it, myself.



Um... well, the first letter had a different address on it then the rest. I don't know if Buffy or Willow caught on to that or not. You'll find out why it was different, soon.



The letters were sad. I don't know how she didn't not cry while hearing them. Like I said in another reply, I think Willow didn't cry later cause she was trying to be strong for Tara, emotionally. I don't how she did it, though.



Um... a little awkward at first, yes, kind of... but, it will be okay soon after that. Stay tuned, k?



Why Tara didn't keep in touch with anyone, especially Dawn? I'm sure she had her reasons. I think she thought that none of them would want to talk to her, even Dawn, after she left town. That would be a reasonable assumption, but... it's still sad.

Inching her hand upwards, towards her goal, her skin itched in anticipation. Finally reaching it’s destination, her fingers splayed out and she lightly cupped the other girl’s cheek.
