The Kiss

Spoilers: Up through the end of Season 6

Willow felt her lovers lips press gently against hers with pressure; she couldn’t stop the soft moan that escaped from her lips. This of course made Tara pull back slowly and smile. “Did you enjoy that baby?” Willow could only smile and nod no words would come out and if they could she was sure it would just be nothing more then babbling. Tara ran her fingers across Willows cheek and leaned in and kissed her one more time. When Tara leaned back this time her smile was gone and her face hung heavy with sorrow, “I’m sorry baby…..” Tara spoke softly. Willow wasn’t quite sure what was going on but she still couldn’t form any words. “You have to wake up now!”
Willow Sat up rather quickly and found that she was sweating she spun to Tara’s side of the bed and found it to be empty then slowly her gaze fell to the spot of the carpet where Tara’s body laid after she was shot, Tears rolled down Willow’s face in a steady stream her body shook in unison with the tears. Willow’s chest pounded and she felt as if her heart was going to explode, she laid back and hugged her pillow and cried.
“Miss Kitty Fantastico it is then.” Willow Said as she sat the milk down for her and Tara’s new kitten. Tara smiled at willow and kissed the redhead. “I love you Willow!” “I love you too baby.” Willow replied. Tara Looked at her lover and grew visibly sad. “You have to stop coming back here Will, Its not healthy for you to dwell on the past!” Tears rolled down Willow’s face “I’m sorry Tara I just can’t help it I love you so much, I just wish I could have one more day with you…..she paused …..Just one!” Tara Smiled “I know baby me too.” Tara laid willow back on the bed and caressed her face, smiled and leaned down and kissed the redhead.
Willow woke up and could already feel the tears rolling down her cheeks she closed her eyes and turned over and stretched her hand out to rub Tara’s side of the bed and felt a body there instead. Willow ripped her eyes open and saw Tara laying there in a peaceful sleep. Willow jumped out of the bed and rubbed her eyes expecting Tara to be gone when she opened them again when she did Tara was still laying there. Willow ran around the bed and kneeled down beside the sleeping blonde. “Tara honey is…is…that you?” Tara’s eyes fluttered open and she looked at willow and got a very wide eyed gaze and she jumped out of the bed as Willow did. “Wil….Wil…Willow, wha…what are you doing here? Tara spoke “You’re not supposed to be here for a long time…….they assured me!” Willow had a rather puzzled look on her face for quite some time and the two could just stare at each other.
Willow stood there trying to think of what to say and then she heard Dawn’s voice from the hall. “Willow are you awake yet?” Dawn opened the door and walked in a bit. “Oh you are cool; I’m on pancake duty today, Buffy’s orders!” Dawn smiled and then realized Willow wasn’t paying any attention to her. “Will, you alright?” Dawn followed Willow’s gaze and saw a very confused Tara standing there looking at Willow. “Oh, Tara its you.” Dawn did a double take and fainted in Willow’s doorway. That’s when Tara tore her attention away from Willow “Dawnie!” Tara ran over to dawn and helped her up Dawn just stared at her and finally threw her arms around her! “Your back…..I don’t know how but your back. Tara was starting to realize what was going on but she didn’t want to upset Dawn “The kiss it had to be the kiss!” Tara thought to her self even though she wasn’t completely sure what that meant. Little did she know Willow was thinking it as well!
News spread around the house rather quickly that day Dawn just had to tell everyone! After everyone came and saw for them selves they smiled told Tara hi and they all left saying the same thing “I think we’ll leave you two alone for the day.” So everyone in the summer’s residence, except Willow and Tara packed up and left for the day. As everyone got into Xander’s car and pulled out Buffy grew really worried and turned to Xander and asked “Um…do you think we are doing the right thing leaving……I mean are we sure that’s Tara up there?” Xander looked to the slayer with an unknowing look on his face and shrugged. “I know it’s her Buffy!” Dawn said throwing a glare towards the blonde. “I just know.” Buffy shrugged “I hope your right Dawn….I hope your right.”

Good start, I can't wait to see where you take this fic. Hopefully, I am wrong about the day thing.
I agree about the day thing...it'll be very hard on them when it's over, if it's only for a day, which I hope it's not. Lookin' forward to more!
