Christmas Carols

Disclaimer: Characters in this story do not belong to me.

Summary:
Christmas fun, even though Christmas is over for all of us. :) Tara decides to rush the engagement and marry on a whim under the snow of New York and the giant Christmas tree where they were engaged at, but they need to plan everything first before they do so. May they have a happy Christmas Wedding on the next update. :)

Note: Sorry for the HUGE delay and I don’t know if anyone cares for the fic anymore since there are tons of others here that are way more worth your time thanks to all the wonderful writers here, but here’s the next update. Tell me how it is; tell me if I wasted my time in writing it. I like it but I don’t know if others will. Just…say something. :) I hate to seem like I’m begging but feedback is what keeps writers going since we’re not the professional ones that get money and sell stuff, so it’s greatly appreciated. The less replies feels like less people are reading it or liking it, or even clicking on the title to even give it a chance. Luckily, this particular fic has reached page ten and over 10,000 views and that’s amazing to me. Thanks again for everyone’s replies to my other fic as well, which is up to five.

The following is pretty short but I’ll make it up with an extra long one next time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Willow and Tara lay in bed, completely naked under the soft bed sheets. The two witches were smelling like vapor rub and feeling like it too, blue gel covering their naked breasts and chests in a thin sheen of shine. Willow’s face was resting comfortably onto Tara’s bare chest while Tara’s arm was wrapping tenderly around the redhead’s shoulder, pulling her close.
Willow’s emerald eyes were closed in bliss; a few tiny sighs escaped her throat uncontrollably as she cuddled even closer to her lover, loving the feel of being with Tara, wanting nothing more than to stay here forever.
From today to eternity, to all the days in between.
“Tara…” Willow sighed, her eyes still tightly closed. “Tara…”
Tara smiled and turned her head to the side to get a better angle so she could stare deeply into olive orbs, the green eyes that she had fallen in love with all those years ago, yet felt like yesterday. “That’s my name.” the blonde smiled again, her luminous grin beaming brightly as she tried to catch a glimpse of Willow’s eyes, she watched quietly for a few seconds until she saw Willow open them, her eyes adjusted to the light as her lids blinked slowly.
“Hey.” Tara smiled softly once more, she always smiled when she saw Willow, especially after a long night of loving. “Were you dreaming?” she lifted her hand and tenderly pushed away a strand of red hair away from her fiancée’s face.
Willow merely nodded and smiled, sighing loudly once more.
“You were mumbling something about jumping frogs and mushrooms.” The blonde pointed out as she bit her lip in amusement as she imagined what exactly her lover had been dreaming about, it must have been a circus of different crazy things that only Willow could cook up in her brain. “What were you dreaming about, sweetie?” Tara asked, still smiling, their faces in close proximity.
“You.” Willow stated matter of factly, her voice soft and gentle. “I was dreaming about you.”
“Me?” Tara chuckled slightly and continued to stroke the strands of hair that framed her lover’s face. “I didn’t hear anything about me… just mushrooms, frogs, and giant killer flowers.” She smiled. “You were saying other things too but I couldn’t quite make it out.”
“You were there too.” Willow snuggled back into Tara’s embrace, back to her place on the blonde’s soft chest. “The frogs were there, the mushrooms, the scary flowers…but you were in the middle of it all…and all I could see was you.” She lifted her head off Tara’s chest and caught the blonde’s eyes; she then leaned in for a quick kiss. “All I could see was you, Tara.”
“Mmmm.” Tara moaned and pulled Willow into another kiss, deeper this time and more passionate. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” Willow managed to utter back after their kiss subsided, as she pulled back she let out a loud cough.
“Baby?” Tara’s brow furrowed in concern. “Oh, goddesses…see Will?” she shook her head. “You caught my cold, now we’re both sick.” She pouted.
“I jump you jump.” Willow smiled as she mimicked the quote from the movie Titanic. “A cold is no big deal, Tara.” She assured, leaning down to catch the blonde’s sapphire eyes. “Not if it means I get to be with you, besides Ms. Seductress…you’re the one that lured me into bed with your lustful positions and tender vapor rubbing on your naked chest.” She playfully nudged Tara’s shoulder and then grabbed yet another quick kiss.
“It worked.” Tara smiled back, her azure orbs luminous under the soft glow of the lights outside. “Soon, it’ll be Mrs. Seductress.”
“When do you want to get married, Tara?” Willow scooted off Tara’s chest and moved to straddle the blonde, when that was accomplished she leaned down slightly so she could see into her lover’s flawless blue eyes. “We never discussed it.”
“I want to marry you tomorrow.” Tara uttered, she sat up a bit on the bed and leaned closer to her soon to be wife, really soon to be wife. “I want to marry you as soon as we can…I can’t wait to be your wife…I don’t want to wait another minute.” Tara babbled quietly.
“Baby, sweetie, darling…” Willow laid her naked body the whole length of her lover’s own naked ones. “We haven’t arranged anything, we haven’t picked the dresses, we have no cake, baby we haven’t even done anything…we aren’t even in the right state for Gaia’s sake!” She widened her eyes as she remembered where they were.
“Giles is back in Sunnydale waiting for us to head back home for Christmas.” Willow added in a rush. “Not that I wouldn’t mind marrying you tomorrow, or right now or any day at that but...”
“You’re right.” Tara nodded. “But what do you think about getting married here?” the blonde locked her blue eyes with green. “Would that even be possible?”
“It would be easier for Giles to come here than for us to come there.” Willow thought things over. “And it’s so great here that I really don’t want to go home any time soon.” She stated nodding her head. “And how great would it be to get married at Rockefeller Center, near that big Christmas tree I proposed to you at.” She smiled and then tilted her head as she thought of how majestic it would be.
To see Tara walk down the aisle wearing a beautiful wedding dress, holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and walking towards her with that beautiful half smile of hers that she always carries. With small snowflakes falling down the dark sky and the white, colorless Christmas lights illuminating around the giant tree, sending bright eye-catching glowing beams of light throughout the entire scene.
It would be beautiful and she knew what they had to do.
“Anything’s possible.” Willow smiled. “The sooner we prepare, the sooner we call Giles, the sooner we can do all of that.”
“The sooner I marry you.” Tara leaned up and encircled Willow into her slender arms, pulling her closer, pulling her down to rest on her chest. “It doesn’t have to be too big.” Tara softly explained. “It can just be the gang and Giles…our family.” She finished quietly. “They were the only ones that really mattered anyway, right?”
“My mom and dad might be able to come, we parted on pretty bad terms but I think I gave them enough time to absorb it all in.” Willow acknowledged in a frown as she cuddled closer to her blonde goddess. “I chickened out in calling them but I think I want to at least ask.” She added in a whisper. “We’ll give them a date and hope they show up.” She looked up to Tara and gave her a hopeful glance. “You think they’d show up?”
“They might just surprise you.” Tara smiled. “They love you Willow and I know they might just come, if not just to make up for everything they missed out on.” She softly spelled out, gently stroking Willow’s back in a smooth caress. “Don’t get me wrong Willow, I don’t know if they will, but I hope that they do.”
Willow smiled softly and nodded her head, the head that was still resting on Tara’s supple mounds, she thought about something before getting up from Tara’s body and sitting at the bed, Tara scooted up a bit as well and leaned her body against the oak headboard behind her.
“We should get up and tell the gang, it’s still early out so I’m sure they’re all still awake, probably being pestered to decorate Anya’s stupid dead trees.” Willow giggled as she imagined how aggravated the gang must be to accumulate the ex-demons demands. “Then we can call Giles so he can fly back here; tell him we had a change of plans.”
“Then we should get up.” Tara nodded as she attempted to grab her clothes, she leaned over the foot of the bed and attempted to search for their discarded garments, Tara’s eyes spotted the bra and she grabbed the garment and clasped it back on. As soon as it was on she tilted her head and sniffed the air. “Maybe we should take a shower first.” The blonde suggested, her brow furrowed, she turned to Willow and gave her a questioning glance.
Willow tilted her head and then nodded to herself, sitting up on the bed a bit and eyeing the naked breasts of her lover’s sensually.
“We really should take a quick shower.” Tara said again, adamant, the strong smell of must and vapor rub evident in the air.
“Well, what are we waiting for?” Willow grinned broadly and yanked on Tara’s hand, gently pulling her to the bathroom. “Let’s lather up that body and get rid of all that vapor rub that I massaged on.” She smiled coyly and gave her blonde lover and quick yet tender kiss. “And I can say the same thing about me.” She grinned again. “My gosh Tara, we are vixens!”
“And it will only get better once we’re married.” Tara stated between kisses, the two already naked witches were right beside the shower stall of the bathroom.
Willow took a good look at her lover and saw that the blonde was still wearing her bra, which wouldn’t do for what she was planning. “Okay, this has got to go.” Willow declared matter of factly. “Why do we bras anyway?”
“For support?” Tara offered.
“Bras are pointless, Tara.” Willow shook her head as she gently dragged her fiancée into the shower stall, reaching behind the blonde and attempting to unclasp Tara’s bra. “After we get married we’re not going to wear bras anymore…or panties.” She nodded a smile as she leaned up to place a tender kiss onto her lover’s full lips. “Why are we covering the parts of our bodies that both want access to, why are we purposely placing that barrier between us?” Willow babbled some more as she listed all the questions that were reining in her brain. “Why Tara? Why?”
“Hygienic purposes for the panties, physical support for the bra.” Tara said simply, nodding her head at her list of reasons. “And you Ms. Rosenberg…aren’t you the one that thoroughly enjoys removing my bra and panties?” the blonde lifted an eyebrow in amused question. “It’s just part of foreplay.” She stated matter of factly. “Plus, we bought all those nice silk nighties from Victoria Secret.” She smiled brightly. “Reason enough?”
“Okay…I didn’t hear anything you just said.” Willow responded as she shook her head, her green eyes went back to the bra that was still embedded onto Tara’s tender breasts, wanting to rip them off so badly. “This…has to come off.” She stated with determination, her slender hands came around Tara’s back once again as she proceeded to unclasp Tara’s bra and throw the unwanted garment roughly to the side.
After Willow released the thin clasp, Tara aided in the removal and pulled the fabric down her shoulders, before she could throw the material out of the way, Willow saw that she had that honor. The redhead grabbed the removed bra and threw it forcefully into the air, Tara watched as her bra flew into the air and in slow motion…landed into the opened lid of the toilet bowl.
“Will!” Tara’s eyes widened as she saw the scene in slow motion, her bra landing in a heap into the toilet bowl. “Baby, you threw my bra into the toilet.” She pointed at her bra and gave her lover an amused look. “I guess you really didn’t want that bra.”
“Huh?” Willow turned her head around and followed Tara’s gaze, her eyes widened like Tara’s when she saw the strap of Tara’s bra hanging from the side the toilet seat, the rest of the bra obviously immersed in the questionable water. “Oh, goddess!” she exclaimed, pulling out of the shower stall and dragging Tara with her. “Sweetie, I’m so sorry!” she turned back to her lover with pleading eyes. “Baby, I didn’t mean to!”
“Will, its fine.” Tara assured her lover and attempted to comfort her; she brought both her hands to Willow’s shoulders and rubbed them softly from side to side, up and down, caressing the soft naked flesh of her lover. “Let’s just take that shower.” She softly suggested. “Okay, baby?”
“Tara…” Willow faltered as her gaze went back to the ruined bra, a light bulb went up onto the redhead’s head as an idea popped into her mind, maybe the bra wasn’t ruined after all, maybe there was a way to salvage it. “Maybe I can save it.” She recommended as her green eyes never left the bra. “I mean that’s a two hundred dollar bra.” She declared matter of factly. “I hate to flush away a two hundred dollar bra.”
“Baby…” Tara began to say but couldn’t finish her thought when she watched her soon to be wife dart out of the bathroom like a naked squirrel and came back into the bathroom in lightning speed, a large tong in her right hand.
“Baby, what exactly are you planning to do?” she leaned toward where her lover was now crouching, her attention to the toilet bowl. “Will, I really don’t care about the bra anymore. Besides…didn’t you say that you hated bras, that we shouldn’t be wearing them anymore?” Tara reminded her lover. “The whole barrier embargo?”
Willow slowly lifted her head and then suddenly pounced at Tara, grabbing her fiancée into another passionate kiss that the blonde nearly fell backwards at the force, passionately backwards. “We both know it’ll be more than a shower.” Willow whispered demurely. “We wasted precious minutes on that darn bra, you see what I mean about the whole not needing them thing?” the redhead started again. “Bras are the embodiment of evil.” She pouted.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah.” Tara rolled her eyes and gently shoved her lover into the shower stall beside them, grabbing the redhead into yet another fiery and passionate kiss, and as hard and fast as it was it didn’t convey any less emotion or love that the two shared, any kind of kiss did that and this was no different.
“Let’s just take a shower so we can tell Buffy and the rest of the gang the good news.” The blonde elucidated. “We need all the help we can get for this wedding to be pulled off in such a short amount of time and the faster we get to them and the faster we call Giles…the faster we head off to wedded bliss.” She smiled. “Do you understand, baby?”
Willow merely nodded and kissed Tara one more time, causing the blonde to swallow her words. Willow kissed Tara again and again, her lips never tiring with those of the blonde’s, never wanting to part away. Tara kissed her lover back just as enthusiastically and then reached for the faucet handle for the shower head, turning on the water so it could fall down on both their heads in a gentle, calm streaming flow.
The two soon to be wives continued to kiss under the pleasant stream of warm liquid over their heads, Willow absently grabbed for the bar of soap under the shower head and brought her hands to Tara’s back, gently lathering up the soap and caressing the skin she found there.
The two made sure that every inch of their bodies were foamy, soapy, and lathered up and that there was no more trace of vapor rub left on their bare bodies, after that was done they made sure to satisfy the ache between their legs that accumulated as they kissed each other.
Their quick shower wasn’t as quick as they thought it would be, that was for sure.
Ms. Kitty Fantastico poked her head into the bathroom and clawed the air; the tiny feline rushed to the shower stall and then clawed the side of the clear glass, meowing gently. She brought her small furry paws to the glass a second time and meowed once more for her mommies. The bra wasn’t the only thing that was forgotten.
~~~~~~~~~~

Anya, Xander, Buffy, and Dawn were ready to sleep. After a long time of decorating the Christmas tree that Anya had picked out and lacing the dead and lifeless branches with twinkly lights and silver tinsel, along with a few homemade burlap ornaments that Anya had kept over the years, the gang was exhausted. And it wasn’t a good kind of exhausted like Willow and Tara, it was definitely something else.

Buffy had shook her head in jealousy when her thoughts brought her back to Willow and Tara, the last time Buffy had seen the two witches was hours ago when she dropped off the dead tree, a few hours later they were still yet to make an appearance. The gang had learned to not bother the two and was intent to keep to their promise; the two girls deserved their privacy.

“Do you think that Willow and Tara are still going at it?” Dawn asked aloud, her brown eyes staring into the ceiling as she snuggled deeper into her sleeping bag; her older sister lay beside her, staring at the colorless ceiling as well. “I mean, that is a long time to still be doing that.” The teen stated matter of factly as she turned to face Buffy. “Do you think their still doing that, Buffy?”

“Can we not talk about this?” Buffy pleaded. “Why are we talking about this?”

“Well, I personally think it’s not fair.” Anya added into the conversation from her position on the bed beside Xander. “While those two are having witchy sex over and over again, we’re stuck with the Summer’s sisters at the foot of our bed.” Anya crossed her arms over her chest in annoyance and tuned to face her boyfriend.

Buffy and Dawn both rolled their eyes and went back to trying to fall asleep, as uncomfortable as the floor was.

“Is that fair, sweetie?” Anya cooed into Xander’s ear. “I’m all happy that the Christmas Trees that we picked out have fulfilled their Christmas destiny but what about our destiny?” she asked in a barely audible voice, biting her lip as she thought about what she wanted to do to Xander’s body. “Maybe we have a time for a quickie, what do you say?” she nibbled onto Xander’s earlobe gently. “Quickie for the freaky?”

“Umm…I... think…” Xander’s words choked in his throat at the feel of his girlfriend’s tongue on his ear, nipping gently. “Maybe…”

“There will be no quickie!” Buffy immediately stood up on her heels and turned to face the two, her eyes hard as glass. “No quickie of any kind… nope, nothing, zilch, zero.” The slayer managed to babble in one sentence. “Absolutely, positively, no quickies.” She babbled again, her eyes narrowed at the former demon on the bed under the covers. “And I don’t care if it is your room.”

“Yeah, I agree with that.” Dawn sat up to witness her sister’s tirade, sleep long forgotten. “I mean what is with everyone and sex? I don’t have sex, Buffy doesn’t have sex, and we’re fine.” The teen stated matter of factly.

“Buffy’s not fine.” Anya bit her lip in amusement as she eyed the bulging vein under the slayer’s hazel depths. “Her eyes are twitching and the vein under it is about to explode.” The ex-demon covered her mouth as she chuckled in laughter and amusement, Buffy’s hard gaze never softened. “C’mon slayer girl, lighten up.” She smiled at Buffy, her eyes sparkling like Mary Poppins.

“Anya.” Buffy closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “I am this close to ringing your neck.” The slayer clenched her hands into tight balls and threw her arms into the air in frustration. “Another word from you about quickies and veins or anything else and I’m actually going to strangle you with your leftover twinkly lights.” Buffy stated adamantly. “I am embedded with slayer strength so you better watch out.”

“Here.” Anya rolled her eyes and then leaned into her bag from the side of the bed and pulled out a large dildo shaped vibrator. “This might help to de-frustrate you.” The blonde ex-demon said simply, nodding her head in enthusiasm. “It worked for me for years before I met Xander.” She smiled broadly, her white teeth showing through brightly. “You should give it a shot.”

Buffy let out a loud sigh of frustration and was about ready to lunge at Anya and strangle her when Willow and Tara came bursting through the door of the hotel room, hand in hand, carrying beaming smiles.

“Hey, guys! Willow grinned as she held Tara into her arms. “Guess what?”

“That it’s been so long since Buffy had sex that she’s wondering if they’ve changed it.” Anya voiced in a serious tone. “I mean, I did offer her my one and only plastic dildo vibrator but it seems that slayer girl in intent on keeping with her misery.” Anya stated matter of factly as she gave her boyfriend a quick kiss and then turned her attentions back to the two witches and the slayer. “I mean this has brought me through some tough times.”

“No…” Willow dragged out her words and shook her head. “But now that’s what I’m thinking.” The redhead frowned as horrible thoughts crept into her mind.

“Willow!” Both Buffy and Tara exclaimed simultaneously at the redhead, their eyes hard.

“What?” Willow shook her head from her thoughts and glared at her best friend and her fiancée. “What did I say?”

“Anyway….” Tara shook her head as well and kissed her soon to be wife gently on the cheek before facing the rest of the gang who all gave them their full attention. “Willow and I are getting married.” The blonde smiled brightly and eagerly, her mouth never tiring with its beaming grin. She looked at the gang and noticed that neither one of them seemed enthused. “Willow and I are getting married.” She said again, her smile still brilliant.

“We already knew that.” Dawn stated matter of factly; she then turned to Buffy and tilted her head. “We already knew that right?” she asked again to make sure that she didn’t imagine that whole thing with them getting engaged and them flying down to New York to congratulate them.

Buffy nodded and frowned as well. “You guys…deja vu much?” the slayer shook her head in exasperation.

"Deja vu." Anya nodded her head and rolled her eyes. "Willow...Tara....you two are already engaged." Anya said slowly so the two witches could absorb her words. "Just look at the rings on your fingers."

Xander merely nodded his head as well.

"We're getting married here." Willow rolled her eyes at her clueless friends. "And as soon as possible if we have anything to do with it, so I don't think that we'd want to leave to Sunnydale any time soon." the redhead explained. "I think it would be great to have the ceremony outside in the snow where all the snowflakes are brushing down our faces..the snow isn't that heavy so all would be good." she smiled. "I mean, why wait to get married and we're already in such a great place."

"We want to call Giles and ask him to come here ASAP and we were also wondering if you guys can help us with the wedding plans?" Tara added her part to the conversation. "The more people involved, the better and faster things can be." she smiled.

"Are you guys thinking of having your wedding at the huge Christmas Tree in Rockerfeller Center?" Dawn asked. "I mean, can that even happen?" the teen frowned as she thought of how the two can manage to have their ceremony in such a publilc place. "I don't want to get your hopes up or anything."

"Anything can happen." Willow smiled brightly and caught Tara's eyes, locking green into blue. Tara seemed to be thinking the exact same thing.

Neither girl could wait.

"I can help you guys plan!" Anya jumped from her position on the bed and rushed to the two girls side. "I was wondering when you two would start with the wedding plans." she commented with a smile. "I have so many ideas on dresses and cakes." the ex-demon grinned.

"Whatever you say, Anya." Willow was distracted as she was still staring deeply into Tara's sapphire depths, not being able to look away. "I just want to do this." she added absently, never leaving the strong eye contact that she had with Tara.

"I can't wait." Tara stated softly, never leaving her hold on Willow's emerald green.

Summary: Wedding Plans, Giles comes to New York, Caldwell’s Christmas, and the Christmas Wedding all in one. This one is a big one people!! So please reply!

Christmas Carols might be nearing its end, I’m not too sure yet. The other updates will just pull them all together, it doesn’t feel like it should end yet because things are still unresolved but we’ll see what happens after they tie the knot. It feels like its run its course after the wedding but we’ll see what happens after.

This one is a big update so I’d be thankful for feedback.

~~~~~~~~
Here's a few thanks, the ride has been fun.
Kerrison20:
Thank you for the kind words and I’m glad you’re looking forward to the wedding, I am too and I hope I write it so you are not disappointed. I want it to be romantic and beautiful because Willow and Tara deserve it.
Sam darls:
Thank you for the feedback, it means a lot to me. And I’m happy that you are awaiting the wedding, everyone should...it’ll be great! Hopefully.
Snuggle79:
I missed this story too! I’ve been too wrapped up in the other one that I forgot about this and now that I’m wrapped up in this one, I’m bound to forget about the other one. I really shouldn’t have written two fics, I should have waited until this was over before I started another one but I was just too eager. :-)Their day will be wonderful as I will have a blast in writing it. I want to thank you the most for the feedback because you have been the one that has continued to reply on both my fics, you don’t know how much that means to me. It truly means a lot and I hope you know that.
Kresent:
The wedding will be great, I’m sure of it. But I want to take my time and make sure it’s written well, maybe tomorrow. The whole bra in the toilet idea was just to keep in the spirit of the fic, Christmas Carols has always been a comedy/romance story and that’s no surprise since I’m been borrowing ‘Friends’ scenes throughout the fic. I personally hate bras and the toilet thing was just what I want to do, but please don’t try to flush it, it’ll clog your drain. Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it immensely.
Tempest duer:
I personally hate bras and the toilet thing was just what I want to do, but please don’t try to flush it, it’ll clog your drain. Thank you so much for reading and replying, it means the world to me. This fic has been a joy to write and I’m glad you like it. Thanks for the feedback, if it weren’t for people like you, I would’ve given up on the writing a long time ago.
Washi:
I’m glad it made you all happy inside, all with the aww’s. Willow and Tara fics should do that and it should also be happy and chirpy and everything else. But, angst is good too, that is of it ends with our girls happy and alive. Which they always are. Thanks for the feedback; it’s what I live for.
Allykat:
I can’t wait for the wedding either, it’ll be a joy to write. I’ve personally never been to a wedding so I’m not sure if I’ll write it accurately, but you cares? Anything can happen on fan fiction and Willow and Tara can get married in a week and at Rockefeller Center if I want them to, so that’s what’s going to happen. Thanks for the replies and feedback, on this fic as well as Spreading Wings.
Everyone else, thank you for reading and for the feedback on all the other updates as well.
Immediately Continuing:
Tara’s blue eyes never left those of Willow’s green; they stared intently into each other’s deep depths for the longest time, absolutely captivated. They were always captivated but right now was something different, they were both looking forward to getting married and having that dream white wedding that they just couldn’t look away.
They hardly even registered the constant stream of words that were flowing through Anya’s lips about how she thought their wedding should go, right now that just wasn’t important, it will be important later on, but for this moment all they could see was each other.
“Remember what I said about the burlap, well I really believe that it’s the right way to go now I know it’s a bit unconventional but it’s very effective and useful, not to mention the different colors it comes in.” Anya continued to babble on and on and was completely oblivious of the fact that Willow and Tara weren’t even listening to her, the ex-demon’s words faded away the moment it left her lips.
“But there really are a variety of colors in comes in, but being in New York I’m not sure if you can find all of them but I do have a few friends that I can get a hold of.” Anya persisted in her babbling.
Willow and Tara were still staring at each other like it was the first time they had seen each other’s eyes.
“Now brown is the original color but it comes in several others as well.” Anya continued to babble on. “There’s pink and purple, there’s also polka dots but that just isn’t flattering on either of you.” She stuck out her tongue and shivered at the thought of Willow or Tara wearing giant polka dot burlap dresses, it just didn’t look right for a wedding. “But maybe the smaller polka dots might work considering its subtlety.”
Anya was nonstop, while Willow and Tara were still gazing into bottomless depths.
“What do you guys think in terms of color and style?” Anya asked but didn’t wait for an answer, she continued her blathering. “There’s one with shoulder pads and I know you guys didn’t want to have that in your wedding but just think of the advantages!” Anya kept on and on.
Willow and Tara were still enwrapped in each other’s embrace.
“Willow could wear it and show everyone at the ceremony that she’s the butch because broad shoulders just show that.” Anya stated matter of factly. “That is unless Tara wants to wear the broad shoulders and Willow could pretend to be the non-butch, but who could really believe that?” Anya giggled to herself, shaking her head at the absurdity of it all.
Buffy, Dawn, and Xander all tried to stifle their giggles as well.
“Am I right?” Anya asked to the two girls but wasn’t rewarded an answer, at least not right away. “Guys?” she asked again, this time frowning when she realized that her words probably never even registered, she stomped her foot and gave Willow and Tara an angry glare. “Have you witches even been listening to me?!” Anya demanded as her hands were on her hips in an irritated scowl. “I’m over here explaining how things should go and all my suggestions and you two aren’t even listening to me!”
Xander, Dawn and Buffy watched the scene in quiet amusement as they saw Willow and Tara finally snap out of their spell and turn to face an angry ex-demon; both girls’ eyes were a bit wide as they tried to think about what Anya was telling them.
Willow racked her brain and tried to muster an answer while Tara was attempting to do the same, but no words could escape their throat.
“Well?” Anya waited for an answer, her hands still on her waist. “What was I talking about?” she challenged Willow and Tara, her eyebrow raised in question. “If you were really listening you should be able to tell me.” She stated matter of factly. “In full fledged detail and everything.”
“Umm...” Willow started to say. “You were talking about…” the redhead trailed off, she then turned to Tara for help who really tried to come up with an answer just as she was, she could tell by the small wrinkles on her forehead. “She was talking about…” she swallowed as she continued to think of an answer.
Tara turned to the rest of the gang who were behind Anya, and out of the ex-demon’s view, and gave the three of them a pleading look.
Dawn was sitting at the edge of the bed but got up and gestured at her pants in an attempt at helping Tara without saying any words. Dawn wasn’t wearing a dress but it was clear with the combination of her hand gestures and the fact that Buffy was pointing at the ring on her thumb that they were talking about a wedding dress.
Tara smiled as she finally deciphered what the gang was trying to say, she saw Xander give her a thumbs up, a thumbs up that Anya never registered, and then she turned to the angry ex-demon who was still awaiting an answer, her hands over her hips and her foot tapping against the floor.
“Dresses!” Tara blurted out. “You were talking about our dresses!” she smiled in triumph.
“Our wedding dresses!” Willow clarified with a smile, throwing her index finger in the air. “That’s what you were blathering about.” She coughed and changed her words. “I mean, talking about.”
“You WERE listening!” Anya smiled and rushed to Willow and Tara’s side, squeezing herself between the two girls and hugging them into her arms. “What do you girls think about the polka dots?” she asked the two engaged witches. “I was thinking about going a bit smaller in the scale of it all, maybe little tiny dots rather than large splotches might work.” She tuned to face Willow and Tara and gave them a large smile. “Thanks for listening, nobody ever listens.”
“Of course we were.” Tara stated softly and then gently patted Anya’s back, she turned to her fiancée and caught her gaze, Willow merely rolled her eyes and shook her head, silently saying that Anya will be Anya and they should just nod their heads and pretend to listen.
But the ex-demon did truly seem that she cared about them and the wedding so they cut her a break. “But I think I already have a dress in mind.” She patted Anya’s back once more.
Willow lifted her head and gave the blonde a questioning look. “You do?” she asked surprised. “How does it look?”
“The bride is not supposed to see the bride’s dress until the wedding.” Tara smiled and gave Willow a quick kiss; after she pulled back she softly trailed a slender finger over Willow’s lips and then smiled her half smile when she saw Willow frown at her. “Baby, it’ll be fine...” She assured.
“Do you have the dress now?” Willow look panicked. “You didn’t stick it in the luggage did you?”
“I don’t have the dress now.” Tara rolled her eyes at her lover. “I just said that I had one in mind, I didn’t say that I had it now.” She stressed carefully.
“Yeah, Will.” Xander added into the conversation, he had been eerily quiet the entire time. “What kind of person stuffs a wedding dress into a bag of luggage anyway, I mean hello…dumb much?”
Tara just giggled.
“Which one of you is going to go down the aisle?” the ex-demon asked. “The one going down the aisle has got to be extra pretty, that’s the rules.” She pointed out and hopped a bit as she was looking forward to dressing the bride. Well, both of them will be the bride, but one of them had to walk down the aisle.
“Oooh!” Dawn squealed as she jumped a bit on her heels in excitement. “I want to know that too!” she clapped her hands just once and hopped again. “I was thinking that Tara seems the obvious one to go but I don’t want to assume anything.” She brought her hands into the air in defeat as she studied the engaged couple and soon to be wives.
“Well, I haven’t discussed this yet with Willow, but I was thinking that both of us go down the aisle.” Tara shrugged and gave her lover’s shoulders a gentle and tender squeeze. “Wouldn’t that be great Willow?” she locked her eyes to green. “You can go first; maybe have Xander or someone by your side and then me.”
“I never even thought of that.” Willow eyes caught the blonde’s blue ones. “Baby, I want you to go down the aisle…I think it’ll be wonderful and you always said that you wanted to.” She pointed out gently as she took of Tara’s hands into her own.
Tara merely smiled, her blue eyes sparkling.
“But I’m glad I get to, too.” she smiled softly, wanting nothing more than to see her blonde goddess with her whiter than white dress, walking towards her carrying a beautiful bouquet of roses and her beautiful half smile, deep blue eyes beaming brightly and sparkling luminously under the soft dazzling clear lights of Rockefeller Center’s famous tree.
The Wedding would be at night, she thought.
“Do you know how beautiful you’d look walking down that aisle?” Willow caught Tara’s blue depths. “Like an angel, Tara.”
“You really want me to?” Tara questioned softly as she went back to staring deeply into olive depths, a small dazzling smile gracing her lips as she took in how gleaming and bright Willow’s eyes were as she mentioned how great it would be if she were the one to hold the bouquet of flowers.
“You want we to be the one to hold the bouquet of flowers?” she gently pushed away a strand of her fiancée’s crimson tresses that were shielding her view of the redhead’s emerald orbs and then smiled again. “You could hold one too.”
“I want nothing more than to see you walk down that aisle.” Willow beamed brilliantly. “I want nothing more than to wait for you.”
Tara gave her lover the most desireful and caring look and then suddenly pounced on Willow’s lips, kissing her deeply, pulling her closely.
Willow’s words warmed her soul and she couldn’t wait another second the ravish the redhead, it didn’t even matter that the Willow moaned aloud as she returned the kiss, immersed in the tender and passionate embrace.
The two lovebirds continued on, Willow backed up a bit but never left the hold, her grip on Tara’s back never loosening, Tara on the other hand moved forward and gently shoved her fiancée onto the door behind her, pressing her lightly against the oak wood.
Tara dove back in and kissed her more feverishly, her slender hands pushing at Willow’s shoulders.
Anya stood there and watched with a beaming smile as did Dawn. Xander was now sitting up on the bed and nervously pulling at his ear while Buffy was staring at her lap, trying not to look.
After a few long moments of staring at her hands and lap she finally looked up and saw that Willow and Tara were still at it.
Buffy sighed loudly and shook her head, trying not to smile but not being able to control herself. Willow and Tara truly had a unique kind of love and she wasn’t about to interfere with that, when they started to act like they were going too far, that’s when she was going to stop them.
Willow and Tara continued to kiss, it was passionate yet gentle. And it seemed, at least to the rest of the gang, that they were momentarily forgotten in the exchange. The only people that existed in the girl’s eyes were each other.
Buffy sensed that it was time to pull them apart, she didn’t want to physically do it but maybe asking them a question might be a discrete way to accomplish that without touching them, they had a right to kiss but get a room much?
“Did you guys call Giles yet?” Buffy asked the two kissing girls. “Guys?” she asked again when Willow and Tara hardly flinched. Tara had Willow pinned to the door and Willow seemed to be enjoying the pinning very much. “Guys?’ she tried again, but knew she’s fail.
“You guys!” Dawn tried to get through to them as well, but to no avail.
Willow and Tara continued kissing; Tara’s lips met Willow’s again and again. As the redhead’s lips opened briefly, Tara took that opportunity to slip her tongue inside, deepening the already deep kiss.
Willow’s back was comfortably pressing against the oak door behind her and her hands were now buried deeply inside Tara’s blonde hair, pulling at her so she could kiss her lover even more feverishly.
“I love you.” Willow mumbled between kisses, her breathing rapid.
“I love you more.” Tara responded, her chest heaving up and down in the same way Willow’s were. Tara opened her eyes and Willow did the same at the same exact time and they both seemed enthralled.
The blonde took one more deep look into Willow’s eyes as if they were talking to each other telepathically, as if they were reading each other’s minds, as if their souls were silently communicating something that words couldn’t. “I love you more Willow.”
Anya rolled her eyes at the two girls and turned away, this was going to be awhile. She turned to the rest of the gang and then frowned when she smelled something strange in the air. “Do you guys smell that?” she questioned, her brow furrowed. “It smells like…”
Dawn turned around and sniffed the air as well; she frowned immediately when she sensed that she too smelled something strange.
It smelled sort of like charcoal, or wood, kind of like a kitchen when Buffy was trying to cook but her sister usually burned everything that she attempted to make so that didn’t make any sense. Why would anything be burning in a hotel room? There weren’t any candles anywhere; there was only a Christmas tree with…
“Oh my god!” Dawn exclaimed when she turned to the Christmas tree. “The Christmas tree is on fire!”
Xander got off the bed immediately, Buffy sat up from the floor, Anya looked like she was going to faint, and Willow and Tara finally pulled apart and both turned their heads to the smoking tree.
“Oh, shit!” Xander cried out and took a few steps towards the tree; he then took a few more steps away from it and looked just as panicked as Anya was. He didn’t know what to do. “Fire, the tree is on fire!” he called out as if there was a fire station living nearby.
“Holy crap!” Buffy yelled and waved her hands in fear. “Dawn, so something!” she turned to her sister and shoved her towards the smoky tree.
“Me?!” Dawn was bowled over. “Why me?”
“Oh, goddess!” Willow and Tara exclaimed simultaneously as they registered the scene in front of them, the two witches looked shell-shocked, their mouths hanging open; utterly flabbergasted at the smoke filled scene.
“Somebody grab fire extinguisher!” Willow yelled and ran into the bathroom as quickly as she could. She searched the small room and saw nothing of a fire extinguisher but she did see a small cup, Willow stood there and didn’t know what to do.
Finally, after long seconds, Willow filled the blue container with water from the sink and then came back carrying a carrying the cup of water with both her hands and threw the liquid onto the smoky spot.
The smoke didn’t diminish, is anything a small fiery small erupted and spread at the base of the tree, the fire was spreading rapidly.
“Will somebody do something?!” Anya stomped her foot, and waved her hands frantically at the smoking tree. “My tree is on fire and everyone is just standing there and watching it like it’s some kind of porn movie or something!” she exclaimed in the loudest shriek she could muster.
“What kind of Christmas destiny is this?!” Anya was hysterical. “Will somebody get a fire extinguisher?”
When Tara finally shook her head from her initial shock, she spun around on her spot near the door and frantically searched for a fire extinguisher.
Her blue eyes darted throughout the room until she finally spotted the crimson colored tank sitting idly at the base of the door; Tara rushed to grab the fire extinguisher and finally put out the growing fire.
Tara sprayed the tree a couple more times just to make sure.
“You got it?” Anya nearly yelled; leaning a bit to make sure all the fire had been put out. “Is the fire gone?”
“I think so.” Willow nodded. “Baby, why don’t you spray it again to make sure?”
“Okay.” Tara nodded her head and complied, spraying the dead tree once more in order to ensure that the tree wouldn’t burst into flames suddenly, like it always did in the movies. “I think that’s it.” She put the fire extinguisher on the floor and ruffled her hair.
“Thank the goddess.” Willow sighed in relief.
Dawn and Buffy carried the same face of relief as well, as did Xander.
“That was close.” Tara sighed and turned back to catch Willow’s emerald gaze; the redhead merely smiled and nodded her head in pride, Tara smiled back and the two girls were back to square one. They stared at each other the way they were before they started kissing.
The tree forgotten in the moment.
Buffy, Xander, and Dawn all noticed this and rolled their eyes. These two were unbelievable, a fire in the hotel room and everything and they were still captivated by each other’s eyes, eyes were eyes damn it! What’s the big deal anyway? Anya, on the other hand, was hysterical; she was near tears on her knees beside the tree, extremely upset.
“My tree…” Anya whimpered. “It was supposed to fulfill its Christmas destiny and instead it gets burned alive…” Anya sniffled.
“Anya, honey…” Xander put his hand on his girlfriend’s shoulder. “It did fulfill its Christmas destiny, at least for a while.” He said softly. “We decorated it with twinkly lights and everything.” He smiled.
Anya looked up and sniffled.
“And hey…we have another one in our room.” Willow tried to lighten up the mood, placing a hand on Anya’s shoulder as well. “We could bring it over here and decorate together, but maybe we shouldn’t put any Christmas lights…that’s probably the reason it burst into flames in the first place.”
“You’d do that?” Anya got up and turned to Willow, still sniffling a bit. “For me?”
“What can I say?” Willow put an arm around Tara and pulled her close, smiling. “I’m in a good mood.”
“She sure is.” Tara smiled and gave Willow a quick kiss, which eventually turned to an even deeper one. Willow pulled Tara from behind her neck and then kissed her even more passionately; Tara opened her mouth and allowed entrance for Willow. This time it was the redhead who gently shoved Tara to the door, ravishing her on the spot. “Kiss me Willow.”
“Shouldn’t you guys be calling Giles?” Buffy questioned loudly, trying to break the moment before it got out of hand. “He’s all sitting in Sunnydale, waiting for us to come there and you haven’t even called him to tell him you aren’t coming back.”
Willow gave Tara a few more loving kisses before pulling away.
“I can call Giles!” Dawn exclaimed excitedly and reached inside Buffy’s bag for her cell phone. “We really shouldn’t have left him there in the first place.” She pointed out as she dialed the number.
“I want to call him!” Anya exclaimed and grabbed the phone from Dawn’s hands.
“Hey!” Dawn yelled. “Anya, give me the phone!” the teen rushed after Anya but the ex-demon hopped onto the bed and stood up, the phone still in her hand.
“Oh my god.” Dawn was shocked. “Can you believe that Buffy?” she turned to her sister and gave Buffy a questioning glance, pointing at Anya who was still standing on the bed. “You see what I keep telling you?”
“Hello, Giles?” Anya asked through the receiver, ignoring Dawn.
“Anya?” Giles questioned on the other line. “Anya, is everything allright?”
“Yeah, geeze!” Anya shook her head in exasperation. “Every time someone calls that’s what you ask first.” She shook her head again, hopping a bit on the bed. “We have some news for you.” She stated in a sing-song voice, smiling. “Willow and—”
“Willow and Tara are getting married!” Dawn hopped onto the bed and grabbed the phone out of Anya’s hands, pushing the ex-demon off the bed. “So you have to come here Giles and help us plan the super fast wedding planning thing.” She finished weakly, not knowing how to explain. “Since we’re having it here.” She frowned. “I mean, they’re having it here.” She corrected. “I’m not getting married, Willow and Tara are.”
“Hey!” Anya exclaimed, stomping her foot. The ex-demon tried to grab onto Dawn’s feet, but the teen managed to squirm away. “Damn it, Dawn!”
“What on earth are you blathering about, Dawn?” Giles sighed through the receiver and pinched his index finger and his thumb over the bridge of his nose, shaking his head at the obvious sounds of an angry Anya in the background. “I thought we agreed that you all were to come home for Christmas, I specifically said…”
“Oh, c’mon Giles!” Dawn rolled her eyes. “Willow and Tara are happy and they want to do it here.” She explained, dodging Anya’s hands who were still trying to pull at her feet, Xander and Buffy had to pull her back. “Plus, New York is really great and you’ll have a blast here!” Dawn continued, not caring about Anya’s mood. “Anya and I can teach you how to ice-skate.” She smiled. “Well, I can teach you how to ice-skate since, well…you know.”
Anya’s face lit up at that and she roughly pulled at Dawn’s feet, catching the cell phone before it fell to the floor. “Dawn’s right!” Anya smiled through the phone receiver, nodding her head enthusiastically. “I know how to ice-skate now.” She declared proudly.
Dawn jumped off the bed and then roughly snatched away the cell phone from Anya’s hands. “No she doesn’t Giles, she crashed like seven times.” The teen laughed as she remembered the exact moment Anya crashed into the far wall of the ice-skating rink, over and over again. “Over and over again.”
“I did not!” Anya defended, stomping her foot. She turned to the rest of the gang who were all quietly listening on. “I really didn’t.” she said softly, shaking her head. “I didn’t.” she insisted again. “Xander, tell them!”
“So, Giles…you need to come down here and we’ll figure out the rest later.” Dawn explained. “Sounds good?”
“Yes, Yes.” Giles nodded. “May I talk with Willow and Tara, I’d like to congratulate them.” He stated.
“I missed you, Giles.” Dawn said gently, her voice soft.
“Miss you too.” The older man replied though the receiver, his voice just as soft. “Um…Willow and Tara?”
“Oh, right!” Dawn remembered, she turned to the gang and was welcomed by Anya who was about to snatch away the phone, thinking that Giles wanted to talk with her. Dawn merely smiled and handed the phone to Tara. “Giles want to talk to Willow and Tara.” Dawn stated with a satisfied grin, sticking out her tongue at Anya, which only enraged her even more.
Anya huffed angrily and stomped to Xander’s side, clutching onto his arm.
“Hello, Mr. Giles?” Tara asked from the other line, her other hand was holding on to Willow.
“Yes, Tara…you’re not coming back home I assume?” the older man questioned, already knowing the answer. “I have a tree here waiting and everything.” He chuckled.
“Sorry, Mr. Giles.” Tara replied through the other line, she looked to Willow and saw gave her a small smile. “It’s just so great here and…I don’t know, it just seems right for some reason.” She explained. “Willow and I really want to this and we hope you could come, it wouldn’t be the same without you.”
“I’ll be there.” Giles smiled, his hands playing with the rim of his glasses. “But I have to say, Tara… planning a wedding takes months to arrange. I don’t think you or Willow understands the longevity of it all, how in the world do you propose assembling and organizing all of this in such a short amount of time?” he softly inquired, concerned. “When do you plan on getting married?”
“In a few days?” Tara stated meekly. “Is that bad?”
“Put Willow on the line?” Giles suggested his voice controlled and gentle. Willow and Tara were really aiming high but a wedding was a big event and it takes a really long time to have it all arranged, just to find a place to get married alone will take forever. He didn’t know if the girls really understood that. Giles felt Tara hesitate and made way to assure the blonde. “Tara, I just want to hear what Willow thinks of it all, congratulations by the way.”
“Thank you.” Tara smiled and handed the phone to Willow who was enthusiastically took it.
“Hi, Giles!” Willow beamed brightly, her smile as radiant as the summer’s sun. “I take it you heard?” she noted brilliantly. “Tara and I are finally going to do it, and it’ll be great too…I have all the ideas in my head and I know for a fact that everything is going to go great!”
“Hello, Willow.” Giles answered with the most gentle and soothing voice. “And I’m sure you’re right.”
“You are?” Willow lifted an eyebrow. “No skepticism? No fatherly, everything might not go well speeches?”
“Tara says a couple of days…” Giles’s voice was adamant and strong. “And we’ll get it done in a couple of days.”
“You seem really adamant about that.” Willow smiled. “Is this going to be like mission impossible or what?”
“It’s going to be a mission, that’s for sure.” Giles chuckled. “I’m taking the first flight out and I’m hoping to get there by tomorrow, you girls start on the planning now, have Xander, Buffy, Dawn and Anya help you and when I get there…” Giles smiled and cleaned his glasses, his eyes filled with confidence and determination. “Well, when I get there all bets will be off.” The watcher voiced in conviction. “I have you know that I am an amateur wedding planner.” He stated proudly, his brown eyes shining.
“You never told us that.” Willow was surprised. “A watcher and a wedding planner.” She voiced proudly. “I’m so proud.” The redhead said in a sing-song voice, acting as if she were a proud mother of a child that has just started to walk. “Well, we need all the help we can get so get your ass down here ASAP.” Willow stated adamantly. “And bring some money with you.” She joked, smiling.
“With me there, I’ll get it done in no time.” The adamant watched proclaimed. “I’ll see you soon?” he made sure, his voice still soft. “And congratulations, Willow. I’m nearing my fifties and you and Tara are already getting married before the age of thirty, how do you do it?”
“I met Tara.” Willow smiled. “If I hadn’t, I’d probably still be alone and I thank her and the goddess above for that everyday.” She said softly. “You just have to find the right woman who could make your heart soar to the sky and all be good.”
“I did find her.” Giles stated sadly. “I just couldn’t keep her.”
“I’m sorry, Giles.” Willow voiced softly. “You know that I loved her too, she shouldn’t have died.”
“Yes, well…” the watcher shook his head away from his thoughts, not wanting to think about that right now.” I guess I’ll be going, I’ll hope to see you soon.”
“Call us when you land.” Willow nodded. “We’ll be waiting at the airport, you might want to try to get a room since Xander and Anya’s is crowded.” She mentioned. “That is unless you want to stay with Tara and I.”
“Will do.” Giles smiled. “And if I might say again…congratulations, I’m sure that you and Tara will be very happy together.”
“Bye, Giles.” “And thanks.”
Dial tone.
“What did he say?” Anya leaned forward towards Willow and raised her eyebrows. “Is he coming?”
“He’s coming.” Willow smiled. “And he’s going to help us with the planning and everything!”
“That’s great, sweetie.” Tara smiled as well, going behind Willow and gently bringing her hands over her lover’s shoulders and tenderly massaging the muscles there, kneading into the flesh in soft strokes. “Did he say anything else?” she questioned quietly, still massaging her fiancée’s shoulders. “When do we pick him up from the airport?”
“By tomorrow.” Willow stated matter of factly; her eyes closing in bliss at Tara’s tender touch. “He said he’d call so we should both keep our cell phone on so we know when he’ll be coming down.” She added. “He also said that we should start planning right away so I guess we should do that right now.”
“Right now?” Tara asked, frowning. Her hands stopped its kneading. “You want to start the planning right now?”
“That’s what Giles said.” Willow turned her head back and gave her lover a small smile. “But I guess it’s kind of late, huh?”
“Kinda.” Tara nodded. “But first thing tomorrow morning?”
“Yeah!” Anya was excited; she took Tara by the shoulders and gave the blonde an encouraging squeeze. “Tara and I can go down and try out some the wedding dresses.” She exclaimed enthusiastically. “I hear they’re having a fifty percent off sale.”
“I actually know what dress I want; I have a picture and everything.” Tara silently confessed, biting her lip shyly. “So we can head there tomorrow.”
“You know what dress to get?” Willow turned to Tara and raised her eyebrows. “Since when?”
“Since now.” Tara smiled and gave her lover a quick kiss.
“Great!” Anya smiled. “I’ll have Dawn come with us.” She hopped up and down. “What do you think Dawn?” the ex-demon asked the teen.
“I’ll be there.” Dawn smiled. “Let’s just go to sleep.”
The whole gang nodded. Willow and Tara retired to their hotel room while Buffy, Xander, Dawn, and Anya went back to where they were before the two girls barged in, to sleep. Tomorrow they were going to pick up Giles. Tomorrow would be the first day of the wedding plans and the first day of the mission to get the wedding arranged as quickly as possible, with the help of all the scoobies and Giles, they were sure they would get it done.
Day one:
The whole gang were waiting at the airport for Giles, Anya carried a huge sign that read ‘We missed you Giles’ while the rest of the scoobies waited for the watcher alongside Anya, standing there patiently. Dawn left for a while to grab a soda from a nearby vending machine, and when she came back she saw that Giles was there, and with lighting speed the teen rushed to the older man’s side, hugging him tightly.
Giles squeezed Dawn tightly, followed by Anya, Willow and Tara, Buffy and a manly handshake from Xander.
“So?” Giles stated after a moment of greeting. “Let’s get started.” He smiled. “I heard Willow say something about Rockefeller Center and I can get that done in a rather small amount of time… I know some people there so that shouldn’t be a problem.”
“We just want a small wedding.” Tara voiced through the group. “All we need is a dress, someone to perform the services, a few bouquets of flowers and a place to eat.”
“And we can get all that done, I’m sure of it.” Giles nodded. “You girls just get that dress in.”
[Cut to the front of the dress store. Tara, Anya, and Dawn are at the front of the shop along with dozens of other women, everyone is in a frenzy]
“All right, listen up. There is usually only one dress in each size so when they open those doors, fan out. Now, this is what you’re looking for! Tara holds up a picture of the dress she picked out. “ Memorize it! When you locate the dress, blow on these. All right?” She passes out whistles to them. “ Three short blasts, when you hear it. Come running.” Tara told the other girls, making sure they understood.
“Okay.” Dawn nodded, absorbing it all, she placed the whistle around her neck.
“Got it.” Buffy smiled.
“I got it too!” Anya exclaimed, her eyes sparkling. “I bet I’ll find it first.” She smiled.
“All right.” Tara simply said, preparing herself. “Everyone, be careful…theses women can trample you.”
A worker comes to open the door and the horde starts to press forward.
“Here he comes!” A strange woman says, pressing her face flat against the glass. “Hurry!”
“Oh they’re pushing!” Anya cried out, almost trampled under the horde of women that passed through. “They’re pushing!!”
“Hey!” Tara grabbed Anya by the shoulder, her eyes hard. “Don’t be a baby!”
“Well I…” Anya stammered her mouth opening and closing unconsciously. “I just…”
The door opens allowing the horde to charge in, knocking Anya out of the way and to the ground, really hard.
“Let’s go!!” Someone says, almost stepping on Anya who was on the floor, her face messy.
Dawn comes out and roughly pulls at Anya “Hey! Anya! Come on!!!!”
Tara is frantically looking for her dress.
“No. No. Not it. Not it. Not it.” Tara checks another rack and another woman tries to reach around her. To the woman “Don’t crowd me!” Tara says roughly, very out of character. The blonde searches some more.
“This is it! This is the dress! Oh my God, it’s perfect!” She takes it off of the rack and someone has a hold of it on the other side of the rack and tugs on it. “I’m sorry, this one’s taken.” Tara says, shaking her head and tugging at the hanger of the dress. The other woman tugs harder pulling Tara through the rack. “Hey!”
“This is my dress, I’ve got it by the hanger.” Tara states calmly, hoping the other woman would understand.
“No!”
“Yes it is!” Tara tugged harder. “I have it by the hanger, which makes it mine.” She insisted, looking around the room for Buffy and her slayer strength.
“And now you’ll see me buying it.” The other woman insisted stubbornly. “Boo hoo.”
“What? You freak!” Tara was pissed, and she was never pissed. This was the dress she wanted, she had it by the hanger and she was sure that Willow would love it as well.
"Look, you don’t want to fight me."
“Maybe I do! I’m pretty feisty!” Tara the signal on the whistle.
[Cut to Dawn in another part of the store.]
Dawn, hearing the signal, rushes to Buffy’s side. “I’m coming! I’m coming!” the teen exclaimed, trying to follow the sound. She takes off towards the signal and almost knocks another woman over.
“Hey!” she says, an angry scowl on her face.
She hears another signal in another direction.
“Okay!” Dawn runs that way and hears another whistle blast. “ Hey!” she heads the other way and hears another blast. “What do I do?!!” the teen runs in the second direction and finds that the whistling is coming from inside a rack. She moves the dresses out of the way to find Anya curled up in a fetal position frantically blowing on the whistle. “What are you doing?” Dawn frowned, confused.
Anya doesn’t stop.
“Did you find the dress?” Dawn questioned.
Anya won’t stop so Dawn pinches her nose shut which causes her to spit the whistle out.
“Did you find the dress?” Dawn asked more loudly, shaking her head.
“No! You gotta get me out of here, Dawn!” Anya got up and held her whistle tightly in her hands. “These bargain shoppers are crazy!”
“I—We gotta get Tara.” She starts to leave.
“No!” the ex-demon grasped tightly onto Dawn’s shoulder. “You gotta hold my hand!!”
“Oh my God!!” She grabs Anya’s hand and drags her towards Tara. “Excuse me! Excuse me!” She’s knocking women and veils out of the way as she moves.
Dawn and Anya gets to Tara where they see Buffy with the dress balled up in one hand and is sitting on the woman who was trying to take Tara’s dress, the woman was sprawled out on the floor, completely exhausted.
Tara takes the dress and runs the the register.
“Go! Go! Go!” Buffy says to Tara and the other two girls, her grip on the other woman loosening.
Day two:
Willow, Tara, Buffy, and Giles were strolling through the aisles of the flower shop, looking at all the various flowers that they had there. There were roses and lilies, daises and orchids, all of them coming in so many different colors and styles. Giles had suggested that the bouquet be an array of white rose blooms that carried a tinge of pink and pink rose blooms that carried a tinge of white, and after much consideration and deliberation, Willow and Tara agreed that it was a perfect choice.
The color would contrast perfectly with the white snow and lights that, pink and white just seemed faultless. Giles shelled in the cash for the bouquet, insisting that he wanted to pay, while Buffy and Giles gave their suggestions on how the flowers should be arranged, Willow and Tara stood there quietly, merely nodding their head, silently wondering how their wedding plans became theirs.
“I wonder where Dawn, Anya, and Xander are.” Willow wondered aloud, still staring at the bickering pair who were surrounding the flower guy in a semi circle, gesturing and yapping excessively. “What do you think they’re doing?”
“They’re probably finding a place for a reception.” Tara mentioned shrugging. “Those two mentioned something about food and taking care of it.”
“We don’t really need a reception.” Willow’s brow furrowed. “I mean, we could just have it at our hotel, have a small private place there…just the gang.”
Tara just shrugged again, as did Willow.
[Cut to: Anya, Dawn, and Xander who trying to book a reception date at their hotel]
“Now, it’s only going to be a few of us so there shouldn’t be so much food.” Xander explained to the guy at the front desk. “What types of food do you serve anyway?”
“I want shrimp!” Anya exclaimed, her eyes lighting up, she leaned towards the guy at the desk and whispered. “You should add a bunch of shrimp to that menu of yours, lobster and steaks and all of that.” The ex-demon stated excitedly. “And cheesecake! I love cheesecake.”
“Tara is allergic to shrimp.” Dawn rolled her eyes and gently shoved Anya to the side, away from the man. “An arrangement to fruits, vegetables, and meat would be good as well as some desserts.”
“Preferably chocolate.” Xander nodded, placing a hand over Anya’s shoulder. “Willow and Tara love chocolate.”
“Who doesn’t?” Dawn smiled; she leaned over the desk and pointed at a menu that was lying on the oak wood. “We’ll take this one please.”
“Very well.” The man said. “Would you like a customized wedding cake?” he asked the teen. “It’s fifty percent off and we can place almost anything on the top of the cake.” He explained. “You say it, we put it.” He beamed brightly.
“I have an idea in mind.” Dawn had an evil and coy glint in her eyes as she thought of what to put on the cake. “Do you have little witch hats?” She asked the man.
“I…I think…” The man behind the desk had a confused look, his eyes widening like two giant golf balls.
“Well, you heard the girl!” Anya leaned her elbows over the desk and gave the man a piercing look, tapping at the wood impatiently. “Witch hats, people!”
The man was still confused but he eventually nodded his head, the three friends beaming brightly.
Day three:
“We should get this teddy bear to the Caldwell’s.” Tara suggested in a smile, hugging the bear into her arms. “Do you want to pop in and surprise them?”
“I’d love to do just that.” Willow kissed her fiancée’s nose, and then grabbed the blonde into her arms. “I hope they don’t mind us barging in like that, we don’t know each other very well.” She frowned.
“We’re just dropping off a few gifts.” Tara pointed out, standing up from her seat at the foot of the bed and bringing Willow with her. “I hate to leave without saying goodbye to them and now really seems like the best opportunity.”
“And the rest of the gang is getting the wedding stuff in order?” The redhead’s rose as she gave her lover a questioning glare, hopeful.
“I think we’re pretty much done with everything.” Tara nodded, pulling Willow closer. “You’d be amazed at how quickly and easy a small wedding takes to arrange.” She smirked, leaning even deeper into Willow’s arms, kissing her quickly on the nose. “It’s pretty much just the gang and us.”
“Yeah, pretty much.” Willow said softly, looking down a bit. “Just us.”
“You didn’t call your parents?” Tara tried to catch her fiancée’s gaze, her voice always soft.
“I did.” Willow nodded. “They told me that they would try to come but they couldn’t promise me anything.”
“Then I guess we’ll have to wait and see, huh?” Tara smiled. “Just think good thoughts.”
“Okay.” Willow agreed and then picked up the small box of gifts that they had got for the Caldwell’s, Willow took it into her arms and slowly headed to the door, Tara following close behind.
[Cut to: Front door of the Caldwell’s place.]
Willow and Tara stood at the front door of the Caldwell’s, both girls carrying two boxes of gifts all shielding their view of the door. Willow managed to ring to bell on the oak wood and they both waited for someone to answer the door, after a long moment a small boy opened the entrance and his tiny face lit up like a litted Christmas tree.
“Rosederg and Maclaid!” Thomas exclaimed excitedly, hopping up and down on his heels. “Grandma, Grandpa….it’s the lesbinams!” the yelled through the small living room, his face was bright and delighted, full of Christmas cheer. “The lesbinams are here!”
“Willow…Tara!” Agnes came into the living room, through the kitchen and gave the two girls beaming smiles. “I thought you girls left for California?” the older woman questioned the two, her smile still bright. “You girls decided to stay?” she asked hopeful.
“And they brought presents!” Thomas pointed out in a smile, his green eyes sparkling. He turned to the two girls and gave them a pleading look. “Is one of the presents for me?” he asked happily.
“Of course kiddo.” Willow gently ruffled her hands into the tiny blonde boy’s hair. “Here you go, Thomas.” The redhead handed a box to the boy, she turned to Tara and watched her lover hand Thomas another box of gifts.
“Thank you!” Thomas squealed happily, jumping up and down as he took the gifts. He then rushed to Willow and Tara’s side and gave the two girls a huge and tight hug, squeezing them as strongly as a little kid could muster.
“We just wanted to give these gifts to little Thomas before we go.” Tara explained softly, glancing across the room as the tiny boy ripped open the wrapping paper and his face lit up even more, he turned his head to the two girls and gave the both of them luminous and beaming smile.
“You girls don’t want to stay?” Agnes’s husband asked the two, his grey eyebrows lifting in hopeful question. “We have eggnog and ham, our door is always welcomed to you to.” He smiled. “And after what you did for Thomas, we’d like it if you stayed…at least for awhile.”
“We’d love to.” Willow smiled, as did Tara. “You sure we wouldn’t be intruding?”
“Of course not.” Agnes shook her head and let the two girls into her home, taking their coats and hanging them behind the front door. “What have you girls been up to, anyway?”
“Well, we’re getting married tomorrow.” Tara gave Willow a gentle squeeze. “And you’re all welcomed to come.”
Willow just smiled again, nodding her head.
[Cut to: Xander, Giles, Buffy, Anya, and Dawn trying on their clothes.]
Giles and Xander were having their dark suits fitted in while the other girls were trying on the simple dresses that Willow and Tara had picked for them, which were pale pink and very minimal. But considering that it wasn’t a wedding dress and merely a sort of bridesmaid dress, the outfits that the two witches had chosen were pretty good and all the girls seemed happy with the choice.
“I like these dresses.” Dawn pointed out. “They really are pretty nice.”
“I know what you mean.” Anya nodded her head and looked at herself in the full length mirror in front of them. “I mean, bridesmaid dresses are supposed to look hideous but these are really great looking.” She twirled a little and admired her reflection, smiling brightly. “This could almost be a wedding dress.”
“I like the fact that it isn’t too high-profile.” Buffy added her two cents into the conversation. “Considering that it’s supposed to be a small wedding and all, great choice!”
“This suit IS fairly dashing.” Giles agreed, nodding is head.
“I’m digging the silver tie.” Xander commented, nodding his head as well. “I can’t wait for the wedding.”
“Neither can I.” Buffy smiled eagerly, everyone else seemed to agree.
The Wedding:
The sun had set fairly quickly under the few scattered clouds above; the sky was dark but the millions of bright stars in the shadowy heavens brightened up the entire scenery.
But the one thing that really made the entire space glowing with bright and brilliant lights was the enormous and dazzling Christmas tree whose glowing white lights brought an incandescent and glimmering glow throughout the entire area, like a stunning spotlight.
Willow and Tara were nowhere to be seen, as was Giles and Xander but Buffy, Anya, and Dawn were already there, waiting patiently.
On the other side was the Rosenberg’s who, to everyone’s surprise, showed up just in time. There was a fairly dark area at the end of the tree where a small white cloth spread throughout the floor, pink and white rose petals littering the ground nicely, it was a beautiful sight.
Through the corner of the area, Mr. and Mrs. Caldwell showed up with little Thomas at their heels, he was holding a small pillow. The three girls looked surprised but merely nodded and their heads and greeted them.
Soft music starts up and everyone seemed to rouse in attention, eagerly awaiting Willow's arrival.
Ira and Shiela Rosenberg both smile when they see their daughter being escorted by Xander, Willow was wearing an off-white simple dress, but the dress was extremely beatiful and it loooked stunning on Willow, Willow carried a beaming smile as she walked down the aisle, smiling at her friends and her heart dropping when she saw her parents beside them.
Ira and Sheila merely gave their daughter a small smile as she neared them, Willow smiled back, a thin sheen of tears in her eyes.
Xander was smiling as well, he looked quite dashing with his dark suit and his silver colored tie, Willow arm was linked into his.
Buffy, Anya, Xander, and Dawn smiled proudly as they watched their best friend walk down the aisle, Anya was already sniffling a bit. As the two neared the pedistle where a man stood, a book in his handm but the book wasn't needed since Willow and Tara were going to say their own vows.
Xander finally let go of Willow and the redhead stood there patiently, awaiting the moment for her blonde goddess to arrive. She turned back to meet her friends eyes, a dazzling and beaming smile gracing her face. Willow looked to her parents and gave them a small smile as well, not being able to believe that they actually came.
It was one in a million.
Xander's side went to Mr. Caldwell's side, the boy immediately patting the older man on the shoulder in excitement. Mr. Caldwell merely nodded and turned his attention to Tara, who would be walking down the aisle soon enough.
Wedding music starts to sound and Willow nearly hopped on her heels, awaiting Tara and all her beauty. Willow turned her head and went on her tippy-toes, trying to catch a glimpse of her beloved.
All eyes turned to Tara as they saw the blonde slowly walking down the aisle, Mr. Giles linked to her side. Her face was beaming brightly in happiness, teh brilliant and stunning dress she wore was down to her feet, flowing pleasantly across the ground floor. The moment the blonde reached everyone's eyes, a few small droplets of snow and snow flakes began to fall.
The dazzling and luminous lights of the giant Christmas Tree behind Tara made the blonde's deep sapphire depths sparkle even brighter, glittering and beaming rays of colorless light refecting over her entire body, making her look like the angel she was.
Willow's breath caught in her throat as she studied Tara, their deep orbs meeting in a loving gaze, as Tara continued to wallk a pink and white rosed boquet in her hands, her azure eyes never left it's gaze on Willow's, unable to pull away. Tara's long blonde hair swayed gently in the wind, she looked absolutley breathtaking in every single way.
Tears came into Willow's eyes as she realized that soon she would be married to this blonde goddess, that Tara would be hers and she would be Tara's in return.
Tara continued to walk, almost nearing the end of the walkway, gripping the flowers into her hands gently.
Dawn, Anya,and Buffy were on one side, all smiling sweetly at the beauitful sight of Tara, she was utterly astounding that they had to swallow any words that might come through.
Mr. and Mrs. Caldwell were smiling as well and for a moment the Rosenberg's say Tara in a different light, maybe Willow saw something in Tara that they hadn't seen until now, a ageless beauty.
In slow motion Tara's head turned to Willow's once more. Blue meeting green, long blonde hair framed Tara's face, cascading over her shoulders beautifully. Willow couldn't stop smiling, her eyes sparkling as Tara neared her, Giles at her side, silently escorting her.
They finally stop as the music starts to fade away and then Giles kisses Tara on the cheek. cheek. "Congratulations, Tara." he says brfore going to Xander's side, giving the boy a small smile.
Willow steps off the altar to her bride-to-be, still smiling brilliantly. "I love you sweetheart." the redhead whispers, her voice soft.
"I love you too." Tara whispers back, her eyes in near tears. "I love you Willow." she says again, not being able to control herself.
They both turned to face the man, whether he was a minister or a rabbi, it didn't matter, all they wanted to do was say their vows and fianlly get married.
"Let us begin. Dearly beloved, We are gathered here today, to Willow Rosenberg and Tara Maclay in the bonds of holy matrimony." the man stated softly, smiling at the sight of the two girls never leaving their eye contact. "These two women have chosen to write their own vows so we shall proceed to those right now, Willow?" he voiced gently, nodding his head at the redhead, indicating that she should start.
Willow took Tara's hands gently into her own, her emerald orbs gazing deeply into Tara's sapphire depths. "Tara, I never thought that I'd meet you, that I'd fall in love with you the way that I did...I looked into your blue eyes, your perfect blue eyes all those years ago...and I knew, being with you only proved that, how happy you made me when we were together."
Willow took a deep breath and gave Tara a small smile. "I knew that you were the one, you are who I have been looking for my whole life and I want to spend the rest of it with you...my soulmate, my everything, my life." Willow stopped and looked to the rabbi, she then turned to Tara whose eyes were now filled with happy tears, the redhead gently squeezed Tara's hands in encouragement and smiled once more.
"Tara?" he said.
Tara inhaled and closed her eyes, when she opened them she was rewarded with the sight of a beautiful redhead, her green eyes sparklilng under the colorless llights above. A few more snowflakes fell from the sky and she lifted her head to look at them, Willow looked up as well and giggled, the flakes tickling her.
Tara turned to Willow once again and started her vows. "Willow, you are everything to me." she stated softly, her voice almost breaking as she uttered them. "You came into my life when I thought I was nothing and you brightened up my day and my heart in the proceess, you felt my soul and I felt yours...that first touch, I knew I was yours, that we were meant to be...that I wanted to spend the rest of my life in your arms...I love you Willow and I'll love you forever." she finished, her blue eyes never leaving green, she was captivated. "I want to spend the rest of my days doing just that."
Ira and Sheila were in near tears, as was the rest of the gang.
"Do you take each other?" the rabbi asked the two girls softly.
"I do." Tara stated, he eyes still gazing deep.
"I SO do." Willow squealed, getting a bit impatient.
"Let's do the rings shall we?" he motioned to Thomas who walked slowly to the two girls and handed them the two diamond rings.
Willow and Tara both turn, take the rings from little Thomas respectively, and place them tenderly on each other’s fingers, smiling at each other when they were done.
"I pronounce you wife and wife, Willow and Tara Roseberg-Maclay." the rabbi voiced in a smile. "You may now kiss."
Willow brings her lips towards Tara's and they kiss tenderly, when they finally puled back everyone applauds, even the Rosenberg's. A few onlookers clapped as well, happy for the new couple. Anya was a blubbering mess as was Xander but everyone else were smiling in happiness.
Willow and Tara were now wives.
"I love you, Willow." Tara said softly.
"I love you, too." Willow smiled, leaning in to kiss her wife once more. "I love you too, Tara."
Thanks for the replies everyone, it means a lot. I don't know what happened to this thread but I think it happened after I tried to edit...shrugs...Oh well, what can you do? Everything seems to go bad for me anyway. :) But at least the thread is still here, I didn't keep a copy of this last update since I wrote it in a whim, so I'm glad they did that reposting thing, I don't think I would have been able to re-write it exactly as it was.
Anyway, glad you guys like the wedding and I want to apologize for all those spelling errors and typos, I guess I was in a rush. :D
TheTruePatsyStoned- glad you like the fic. :)
Washi- I’m glad you thought that was funny, but I cant take all the credit, it was a borrowed scene from friends.
Kresent- you read my mind, and thanks for the feedback.
sam darls- I’m glad you thought it was beautiful, I wasn’t sure if I wrote it well or not, I was kinda in a rush. :)
snuggle79- Thanks again for the feedback, I keep saying thanks but what’s wrong with that? Glad you liked the wedding.
Tiredsoul- Your post isn’t on this one, but it is on the locked one. Thanks for the feedback, it means a lot.
Thank you all for the feedback, I kind of expected more after the big wedding but that's okay. I’m torn on whether I should keep continuing or not. But I have to think about it. I'd like to write about married life for a little bit, and then end it. But I might change my mind, so if I don’t update for a while it's either because I'm trying to write a good long ending or because I'm busy with the other fic.
Again, thanks and take care.:flower
Beautiful wedding. Willow and Tara just belong together. Only a self absorbed dork with delusions of grandeur could not see that. I love how you write the comraderie btw the scoobies. This is the sort of stuff that only fanfic can give us. And Giles is quite the rennaissance man: watcher, scholar and wedding planner.
