Hi all,
I recently got back into my Willow/Tara addition and started reading some fic. I had left off quite awhile ago here with JustSkipIt's Season 3 Y'all I finished that one. I guess it took me a few years but I did it. HA Then I got the burning desire to write my own. I've only written one Willow/Tara previously and that was back around season 5. I was chatting with my roomate who is a fellow Buffy fanatic. I threw my idea out to him and he helped me flesh it out.
It opens with Willow calling on Osiris to bring Tara back as per the show. This is where I diverge from the show. Before Willow can transform completely into Dark Willow she gets a surprise visitor, Halfrek. She spoke about being able to feel Dawn's pain before she granted her wish. She also talked about vengeance... err justice demons being "well rounded". She feels Willows immense pain and she goes to her. I was thinking of throwing in something about her getting back some of her pride from the incident with Dawn's wish. She tells Willow to make a wish. Willow wishes that Warren had never killed Tara. Bang, Tara is alive, Buffy was never shot, and all is good... except... what happened to Warren? Well, Halfrek's decides to exact double justice and goes back to when Warren killed Katrina. She saves Katrina by making her a vengeance demon, or rather she and D'Hoffryn do. As we saw in the show Warren's blow to the head wouldn't have killed a vengeance demon. Katrina has no idea what has happened but runs from the scene. Now fast forward to when Warren is on the way to Buffy's house with the gun. Katrina shows up just as he gets there and distracts him. He hits her with a bullet and then tries to run, still shooting as he did before. The last shot strays through the window just as it did in the show and hits Tara. The difference being that due to Katrina's distraction he is forced to run in a different direction changing the course of the bullet that hits Tara. It wounds her but does not kill her.
You would think that everything would be fine now but no one but Willow and of course Halfrek know about the wish and Tara can tell that she is hiding something. Katrina struggles but embraces her new gig. Her forte becomes helping rape victims. Tara and the gang will eventually find out about the wish. Meanwhile, Warren has flown on down to Mexico and found himself a demon patron to grant him power. He returns to Sunnydale intent on getting Katrina back. A huge struggle erupts between Katrina and Warren with the scoobs stuck in the middle. Finally, Willow's wish is revealed and there is drama all around. Tara doesn't know what to think. On one hand she could be dead and on the other her being alive has changed Katrina's destiny. Finally, Halfrek agrees to rework the wish but this time Willow (and the gang) is left with her memory swept clean of Tara's existance. She keeps seeing Tara around school and wonders at the familiar feeling she gets when in her presence. Basically she has to find her again. I don't know if I want her to somehow get back the memory of the wish.It all ends with a happy Willow and Tara. I have a very rough first chapter written. Let me know what you think.

Willow’s day had started wonderfully. She had her Tara back and all her friends were fine. They were all crazy with drama as usual but they were fine. She felt bad for Buffy and Xander, but at the same time she couldn’t help but be elated at the turn in her life. She had practically spent the whole day in bed with her girl, but now things where different. She was on the floor with her girl. The infinitely disturbed Warren had returned to finish what he could not accomplish before. Several shots later Buffy was on the ground, her life draining away and Tara was on the floor her life spent. Willow held her, not knowing how or why this had happened, and called upon the god Osiris to restore her lover to her living state. The walls trembled with the two great powers present. The power of Willows pain was overwhelming, even for a god.
“By Osiris I command you bring her back to life,” Willow received no answer, “Hear me keeper of Darkness.”
“Witch, how dare you invoke Osiris in this task.”
“Please bring her back.”
“You may not violate the laws of natural passing.”
“How, how is this natural,” Willow sputtered.
“It is a human death by human means.”
“But I…”
“You raised one killed by mystical forces. This is not the same thing. She is taken by natural order. It is done.”
“No there has to be a way!”
“It is done,” the god shouted, angered by the presumption of this witch.
Then the god knew pain.
Ten minutes later the wailing siren knocked Willow out of her thoughts. She wouldn’t go and look. She had to stay with her Tara. There had to be a way to bring her back. She just had not thought of it yet. Her mind kept replaying the sight of a small red spot appearing on Tara’s chest, the perfect roundness of it, and the feeling of blood splattering over her upper body. Now that the blood was drying on her skin it started to itch slightly when she moved. She thought of scratching the itchy spots but that would remove the blood. She desperately wanted that blood back in Tara’s body, beating through her veins as it should be. She touched a hand to one of the bigger spots that was not quite dried yet. Her finger came away red. She stared at her fingertip and touched it to her lips.
A bright flash brought her attention to the corner of the room. Her finger still lingered at her lips. A woman materialized in front of her. She knew this woman.
“Halfrek,” Willow said in disbelief.
“Oh dear, what a mess,” Halfrek said as she took in the blood and Tara’s still form.
“What…”
Willow took her finger from her lip and pointed at Halfrek.
“You did this?”
“Certainly not,” Halfrek stepped further into the room and gestured at Tara on the floor, “This is not my style.”
“Then why are you here?”
“I had to come. Your pain is so powerful it crosses time. I could feel it all the way in D’Hoffryn’s dimension.” Halfrek smiled, “We knew there was something special about you. You’re quite the powerful witch.”
“What do you want,” Willow growled.
“Oh, I want what you want… justice.”
Willow glared at Halfrek.
“Well, you want her alive don’t you,” Halfrek said gesturing toward Tara again.
“Of course I do,” Willow replied.
“Well, you know how it works. You have to make a wish.”
Willow considered her options.
“I don’t even know how this happened. Who did it…”
“I can help with that.”
Halfrek stood cautiously over Willow and placed her hand on the woman’s forehead. Images flashed through Willows mind. First was Warren running down the street, a gun clutched in his hand, Buffy and Xander embracing on the bench in the back yard, then Warren entering the backyard and firing the shot that hit Buffy and then the shot that strayed through the bedroom window hitting Tara as he ran away. Now that she had someone to direct her rage at, it grew and spilled over like hot magma from the earth.
“Warren,” Willow said coldly.
Willow felt Halfrek step away from her and resume her position a few feet away. The coldness in the with’s voice sent a shiver up her spine. This woman’s rage was deafening and frightening even for her, which is why she had been drawn to her almost against her will.
Willow considered her wish carefully. She didn’t want Warren dead, at least not just yet. She placed both of her hands over Tara’s body and looked at Halfrek
“I wish that Warren had never killed Tara.”
“Oh you thought about that one didn’t you dear? Good, now I can be a bit creative,” Halfrek rubbed her hands together basking in her curse, “wish granted.”
