I have mixed emotions on the subject of Glory. I hate her for what she did to Tara but I still like her. She has been my favorite big bad (next to Faith in season 3). She's funny in that insane way.

I think the funniest line in the episode was "we already deja'd that vu." very funny.

This did seem to be a filler episode but it was okay as filler's go.

Since I've been watching High Fidelity today...

Top Five Buffy Big Bads

1)Angelus/Spike/Dru

Predictable, I know but who can argue with it (Wonko braces herself for flurry of posts arguing with it.)

2)Glory

Probabaly a lot of people disagreeing now but I think she's quite scary. She doesn't kill her victims...she does worse. The idea of losing control of your own mind...scary, scary, scary. "At least vampires just kill you."

3)The Mayor/Faith

Dark Faith is cool. And since I'm a B/F 'shipper I reckon Graduation II had some of the same angst as Becoming II. The Mayor was cool. Funny guy. Not too scary though but that's what Psycho Faith was for I guess.

4)Adam/The Initiative

Maggie would have made a better Big Bad than Adam. An evil human being is always more compelling than an unfeeling creature created to do badness. That's not really evil is it? To be truly evil you have to have some understanding of good. At least I think so.

Which leaves...

5)The Master

Okay...he was supposed to be all scary and stuff but I just laugh at him Angelus had the right idea when he first met him. And what was up with the face, huh? I guess Joss wanted to make him obviously different than the other vamps but it just doesn't hold up. The Shooting Script says he was 600 years old at the time of Welcome to the Hellmouth. And in 'Darla' she said that he had "grown past the curse of human features." Is he the only vamp that can happen to? Must be because he would have been 200 when he sired Darla and he still looked like that. Darla was 400 during WTTH and looked human. This is the only continuity error I can remember in Buffy.

This is all leading to my point which is that I think Season 5 has (overall) been the best. I love Dawn (14 year old angst...awww) plus we have the lesbian action and who doesn't love that? Add to that a scary, super-strong villain and you have dramatic goodness.

Kind of rambly and probably OT for this thread but there ya go.

Maybe he "grew past the curse of human features" in a way unrelated to age. Don't ask me how; it was just a passing thought.

Just thought I would say that I have watched this episode and I thought it was good. I can't wait to see how this is all resolved, but I'm sure that all the questions will be answered soon. Although we shall probably have a lot of new ones after the episode as well.
I love take charge Willow although I was waiting for her too say "questions, comments"
