What do you all think? The window into Willow?
What do you all think? The window into Willow?
------------------
Remember the Kitten Board Mantras:
"Joss is nuts about Tara, Willow/Tara and Amber!"
"Willow and Tara are the most romantic couple on the show, and that's exactly how Joss is treating them."
quote:
"I think she's the window to Willow's soul and I don't think [creator Joss Whedon] really focuses on who she is," says the actress. "I don't think it's a bad thing. Tara hasn't really been explained and I don't know if she ever will be."
For someone so young and relatively inexperienced in love, that is such a beautiful way of putting it. Damn. That woman...sigh
------------------
"It doesn't matter, really, if I don't see Willow tonight, she knew. Willow was in her life, for keeps. That was what mattered." ~ Tara, Unseen: The Burning
quote:
"I wish I could [talk about it]," says Benson, "but my tongue would be taken out of my head. The 'Buffy' Mafia could come and kill me."
Ew much? Working on Buffy is starting to affect her sense of humour.

and, again, i agree with xita.
quote:
"I just know that fans are going to be dismayed, but they're ultimately going to enjoy it."
I wonder what she's referring to - does she mean the brainsucking or the (rumored) death ?
I'm really getting dismayed now

LOL, I saw it too. It DID say Season 4.

They haven't started shooting S6 yet, right? Because then, the dismayed bit could be NOW where we're all like "eek, willow and tara need to be together and lovey" which means we'll be happy in the next ep, right? RIGHT?!?!
But but but... what if tara never gets better?
And to think if it wasn't for my stupid friend who got me into buffy, I wouldn' be agonizing over this.
Of course, that could just be my defensive reaction kicking in . . .

"Oh, baby, want me to rub your tummy? She likes it when I . . . stop explaining things."
-- Tara, "The Body"
"No, she likes what I do . . . I think she likes what she's doing."
-- Gabrielle, "A Day in the Life"
I have to say I was a bit dismayed by the article itself...I certainly see Tara as much more than a foil for Willow. I mean, I think I can see where Amber is coming from--Willow is a core character, and, much as we might wish otherwise, Tara is not. There is even the slight possibility--may the Goddess Thespia forgive me for what I am about to say--that she might one day be written off the show, though I cannot express how highly I doubt it. Really, really highly. Like, think of something that's really high (don't say Robert Downey Jr.)...got it? Okay, higher than that. Joss originally created Tara so that Willow would have someone to explore magick with...but of course, they ended up exploring so very much more...and Joss himself said recently that he thought Tara had become a big part of the heart of the show, which I totally agree with of course and now I'm just confusing myself.
Is Amber just being self-effacing here? That wouldn't surprise me. Or is this a sort of detached, actor's-point-of-view assessment that I, being unabashedly in love with the character, am simply incapable of assuming?
In any case I disagree with the statement that "Tara hasn't really been explained." Nearly everything she says or does explains a little more about her, and certainly "Family" gave us a much deeper insight into her psychology than we've ever been given with some of the other secondary Scoobies--Anya or Oz, for instance.
Well...that's my 57 cents.
