Oh,WOW! OH,WOW! OH,WOW! That was the coolest article of all time. Nothing but goodness. The writer of the article really knows BtVS. It really sounded like a tue BtVS fan. And a Big Woo Hoo--->it even makes note of our Willow's love for Tara.
This very moving quote: "...true love was Willow spoonfeeding Tara, who had been rendered mentally disabled by a Glory brainsuck, poignantly caring for her "in sickness and in health," promising never, ever to leave her: "She's my girl."
Can you say WOW!!! I got misty eye'd while reading this article.
Thank You sooooo much for posting it.

------------------
WILLOW: ...I'd totally be blowing off classes if I was in Dawnie's shoes.

TARA: Sweetie, you wouldn't blow off class if your head was on fire.

Woo and Hoo

All I can say is it is about time. It is a lovely article, and the comments about Willow's love for Tara are beautiful.

It is so nice to read an article from another source which sees Willow and Tara as a couple who love each other. Joss is so right they are the most romantic couple on TV.

Willow and Tara together forever.

Great article on BtVS, she hit every point right-on. One could not help but be moved by BtVS this year, it was awesome....

The article missed the point on X-Files, though. The birth of Scully and Mulder's baby (it is Mulder's) is the culmination of a spiritual journey for Mulder that began with his sister's abduction and certainly changed in focus when he learned her fate. Chances are Mulder won't die by auto-erotic asphyxia as had been predicted!

The baby might be a miracle? The Lone Gunmen as the Three Wise Men - was a bit cheesy though.....

The writer made some interesting observations.

About The X-Files-I agree. I've been there and recorded every single episode since the pilot. The show is Mulder and Scully and the paranormal. What ever happened to the bees, the black oil, project paper clip, the conspiracy, people. If I wanted to see a romance I'd watch Now & Again. Having said that, if CC is going to sell out, then do it. Don't tip-toe around things. Show Mulder and Scully courting, romancing and loving. Don't give us implied and vague implications of things that may or may not have happened. Just do it, man.

As for Buffy-I'm sorry but I just didn't find the end of The Gift moving. We know Buffy will be back to fight another day so her death just didn't pack the wallop it should have. If the series was actually ending and the character had died I would be stunned. If Dawn had ran past Buffy and jumped, that would have walloped me.

Yes, I'm a fuddy-duddy. Rant over.

Incredibly awesome article. People ARE noticing this show, and ARE noticing W/T! Woo and, I must add, a big Hoo.

Good XF points, too... where IS that show going?

Personally, I think X-Files is going to be a lot better now that David Duchovny is out of the way. Doing without him for half this season forced them to reinvent the series and bring back some of the things that made it great to begin with. Plus I think DD's negative attitude about the show had been rubbing off on people.

As for the Buffy write up, how long have all of you been waiting for someone to proclaim Willow and Tara "the most lovey-dovey lesbians on network TV?"

Oh, yes finally someone who loves the show and gets it. I love all the things here and I so agree. That's all I have to say except to quote this!

Willow and Tara, kissing full on the lips, were the most lovey-dovey lesbians on network TV.

That's right!! AMEN!!!

And the rest of the stuff about what true love is, right on!

Aw man...I just started crying from the mere description of Willow feeding Tara. I am soooooo pathetic.

Interesting that the writer employed the phrase "in sickness and in health"...we saw Xander and Anya get engaged (more or less) in "The Gift"...yet somehow I have difficulty imagining a X/A scene comparable in romantic intensity to the W/T one. Hell, any W/T one. So it seems that people are finally picking up on the fact that WILLOW AND TARA ARE THE MOST ROMANTIC COUPLE ON TELEVISION.

Joyce Millman, Salon's TV critic (who wrote this article, natch), also wrote a rave review of the Buffy episode "The Body" (with some added paragraphs about Angel) a few months back. She mentioned in that article that she is a longtime Buffy fan.

She didn't mention the W/T kiss in her review, but she did say that she considered the WB's Tuesday (specifically Buffy and Angel) to be "TV's best night of drama." She also said that it would be a travesty if Joss, SMG and the rest of the "ridiculously talented cast" are overlooked by the Emmys again: "There hasn't been a finer hour of drama on TV this year."

I encourage everyone to visit Salon and check the archive for it - she definitely *gets it.*

Are we being drained of optimism, in order that we don't see the magic coming when it does? I hope so.

What a great review! Wow. I love this quote. It reminds me why I keep coming back to the show.

Wow, this is awesome! Salon really came through for us. This writer has done some other cool Buffy articles in the past, but this one is the best because of the really beautiful bit on W/T. I hope lots of people read this.

Absolutely wonderful article...does anyone else kinda feel vindicated yet pissed off at the same time. It's very obvious that Joyce Millman is a fan...so the preceding sentence was not directed toward her. BUT...all of the sudden Buffy gets rave reviews in a lot of conspicuous places....hmmm maybe we all aren't crazy after all.

Thanks for the link, it´s a great article.

I just read the article april metioned, the one by Donna Minkowitz in which she begs Joss to make Willow gay. It´s funny to read it now, knowing that Joss actually did all that she begs for and that he had planned that already when she wrote the article:

"I want a recurring, human, demon-fighting, likable, complex gay or lesbian major character, a member of the Scooby gang in fact."

Well, she got that, and much more: the most romantic couple on tv!

Let's remember how Donna kind of wrote a follow up on nerve magazine to the original "make willow gay" article on salon. I kinda wish she wrote another follow-up. I am curious to see what she thinks now. Particularly addressing her last complaint:
quote:

Now for the frustrating part: The show is cowardly, even homophobic, about the girls' literal sexual life. For months, all they did was cast spells, allowing some viewers to insist that nothing was going on but salutes to the Goddess. They're an open couple now, but we've never seen them kiss. Buffy and military boyfriend Riley practically f u c k on-screen, Willow and Tara hug and light candles. It makes me crazy. I'd organize a boycott. But, then, well... I'd never find out what happens next.

I wonder how se feels now.

her brain probably went into overload after "the body", due to the massive shock it sustained during "family". and after "tough love", well, she abandoned her writing career to become a josshovah's witness.

well, that's what *i* would have done, anyway.
