It's transatlantic travel weekend, MKF!

Postby tyche » Sat Mar 09, 2002 9:24 am

Whoo-frickin'-hoo! I am on holiday as of tomorrow, and boy, do I need a break. The last month has been non-stop stress due to assorted stuff at work.
The best bit of the holiday will undoubtedly be getting to see my fiancee again. Since we live on opposite sides of the Atlantic (me in the UK, him in the US), I haven't seen him since last August. So we have a lot of catching up to do. I'm pretty happy that he's coming all the way from Oakland to see me, too - not that I don't like travelling, it's just that I get to show him the UK. We're going to be in Cornwall seeing his relatives, then in Liverpool (my home town) to do the tourist thang, then in London for a couple of days. So it should be fun.
The down side of this is that I won't have much internet access for the next fortnight. I'll miss all you kitties. Have a good couple of weeks.
Anyway, enough rambling. The W/T question for the weekend is .. what would they go and see if they ever came to the UK? And would they find out that the English are more gentle than normal people?
See you all on the 24th!

I think they'd go see the beautiful gardens in the Buckingham Palace. I heard the Queen's is the greatest one. My cousin took lots of pics of the gardens!

Why, they'd go and see Giles, and get caught up in mayhem and intrigue. Such mayhem and intrigue, in fact, that it would be screened on the BBC. ^_^

Beyond that, I'll go for Oxford/Cambridge. Willow could go nuts in the stacks. ^_^

Kakambee, I think I know the feeling.

Yes, we all here love you. *hugs*

Well, being spoiler-free I don't know what's up, but 300+ posts in the spoiler thread IN ONE DAY must mean something big a-brewin'. I may just have to confine myself to elsewhere, in case it leaks...

The girls in England? Of course they'd go see Giles. Other than that, I think they'd go somewhere interesting out in the country, and likely have an adventure or two.

Spring has sprung with a vengeance up Toronto way; stormy and windy all day today, a whole whack of rain and reportedly lots of snow (!) tonight and tomorrow. Fun!

Will and Tara would visit Giles, the Uni's, of course, but also Stonehenge and Glastonbury. They'd surely visit London, and maybe Manchester and Brighton.

Ranting now, I leave you kittens alone for 3 days and I come home to find this mess in the house...tsk tsk tsk

But seriously, had a BtVS black jack dealer in Reno, he told me I was the chosen one...I told him if we did not win I would stake him...Aside from that, go to Nevada, leave money for the Nevada economy. Just doing my part for the state of Nevada I suppose.

Back in California and just want to say, have a good Sunday to all the kittens and stay out of trouble.

Well I went out today to a local card show. It was very crappy. So instead of buying anything good, I went into the local comicbook shop and spent some money on Buffy Season Five trading cards. I have almost the whole set. But I keep spending my money in hopes of catching that elusive Amber Benson autograph. Even Michelle Trachtenberg's autograph would be something.

I ended up getting Ben (Charlie Weber) today. This is the third autograph I've gotten. My others include Doc (Joel Grey) and Kevin Weisman (Dreg).

Dagnabbit! I want Amber's! Oi Oi!

Yes, I know I have nothing relevant to contribute. ;D

Have a good trip Tyche!
Well, I am going to the UK next month to visit my sister and shop and for some R & R.
But I think that Willow & Tara would definitely visit Giles. Willow would probably want to go to Oxford just to see it. Tara would problably want to do all the touristy sightseeing things but also visit the Tate or take the chunnel and to to the Musee d'Orsay and drag Willow along (some of the museums have nice dark corners or small alcoves ).

Have a nice rest of the weekend. its almost over for me.

*HUGS* Kakamabee!

Warduke, thanks for the link to the pics. Those are pretty darn adorable. She looks so pale in some of them, but pale in an even more beautiful way.

My weekend is almost over, but happy weekend, kittens.

Well, there's no real reason for this post except that one year ago this month I registered for the board, and this is my final post as a Willowhand. So, I thought it was fairly fitting to make that transition post here. Although, when I look at some people who have 5000 or more posts, my 501 looks fairly small.

Anyway, hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and a very good upcoming week.

Edited to add: Ooh, I'm a Sassy Eggs!

Is the board being really strange for anyone else right now? I keep getting pages with no background, just white. and the blues are all weird and the normal yellow text has turned dark blue so that it's really difficult to read. It's not happening all the time, just every once in awhile. It's completely possible that it's just my computer, it's been known to do funky things every now and then. funny funny.
