It's Living The Dream Thursday MKF 12/5/02

It's nearly 5pm and I don't see a daily thread.

I am an East Coast Kitten. So all yesterday I heard people talking about the snow storm that was coming and how it was likely that we would not have any school. People kept on jinxing it so I didn't expect anything.

I woke up this morning to snow flurries so my mom drove me to school. I lived the dream today. The wish that every student has when they pull up to school. We turned into the parking lot and saw that there were no cars around.

There was no school. I couldn't believe it. On the ride home we listened to the radio and I heard thoe beautiful words... "All North Warren schools are closed!" You should have seen me doing my happy dance. It was wonderful.

So the question of the day is...

What wonderful suprises or events can you attribute to strange weather? Or do you have a snow day, what are doing today with all this free time?

What type of events would Willow and Tara have encountered and how would they have spent their day?

I porsionaly think that while walking down the street, a sudden rain shower may start and Willow and Tara would have to duck into a covered alley and keep each other warm.

Not a wonderful suprise but, when I was still living at my Mum and Dad's house I would go out with all my friends....as you do.

If a storm started we would all run back to my house and sit in my bedroom and watch the lightening, it was great :D

My bedroom was about 6ft x 6ft and we used to fit about 8 of us in there with my bed, a little wardrobe and a book case!! We did well and it was very cosy.

Fun , fun.

Edited to say:
Willow and Tara? Well, I am sure if they got caught in a storm they would run back to their room to "watch the lightening" I am sure! :grin

Happy Snow Day!!!
Growing up in NJ and never taking what the weatherman says as Gospel. I love the snow. I would rather have snow then rain. When it snows, everything looks so beautiful and peaceful. If it snows during the night, I'll just sit by the window and watch. I'll go out every few hours and shovel the walk and I can't ever remember hearing such silence and the most beautiful silence there is. I feel as though I am at peace with myself as well. I especially love the snow at night because its fresh and no one has walked or driven on it yet. In the blizzard here in 1996, I was driving an ambulance as a volunteer and my crew and I spent the night at the ambulance building. We didn't get any sleep that night becaue we were all so busy playing in the snow. There were these big drifts that the snow plows made in our parking lot and we'd climb on top of them and slide down. We even made a six foot snowman in the front of the building. Thank God there were no calls for the ambulance that night cause we were all having too much fun to have it ruined by someones pain or suffering.
Well, I've babbled enough, have a good day/night all.

Love to All,
Barb

Well no snow storm in Panama City, FL...it got cold and rainy today though...still had to work. It's a lazy day around here though....I always want to sleep when it's raining. Have a great snow day!

Ah, yes. There's nothing quite like the heady allure of those magical words "SNOW DAY."
As for myself, I would like to spend the day wrapped up warm on my couch drinking tea and reading one of my favorite books.
WIllow and Tara would be snuggled together under the covers and would read poetry to each other or perhaps a few Kitten NC-17 stories.
