Ok, Willow, Tara , chanukah , go for it..

Today is worlds aids day and its disheartening to note that no cure has been found yet, although treatment has gotten better..I read that half of those infected now are women, which blew my mind..

Anyway, having experienced the loss of numerous friends, more than i care to count, to this dreaded disease, my thoughts and prayers go out to those who are infected and to those who have lost a friend or loved one to this awful plague...

Heres hoping that there will be a cure in the very near future..Peace

Uhh 'Happy Chanukah' to all the Jewish Kittens...Though I have to admit that I have no idea what the celebration entails - alcohol, good food and family? And dreidel, the only way I have even heard of it is because of (shame of all shames) The Simpsons. *sings* "Dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, la, la, la, la,la, la". But well enjoy the day/weekend all.

As of today there are exactly 23 days till Christmas!

Actually, the celebration entails, err... candles, Sufganiyot (a kind of jelly-filled doughnuts), and tons of chocolate. And a week off school. :grin

And actually, the dreidels arent really that much of a hit. I mean, theyre kinnda boring. After a while.

Whats really cool are the Hannuka songs. Stuff about people carrying torches, scaring darkness off and saving the temple. Really heroic and nice. Unless your a witch, of course, 'cause then it kinnda has a disturbing side to it. :lol

I LOVE THE SUFGANIYOT!!! *bounces*

and the Chanukah songs are great and fun and just wonderful to make a fool of yourself with while singing them....

But in my family dreidels are just this thing. We ALWAYS play...but, yes, boring is true too...

You can only win so many pennies and watch this little topish like thing spin around, so many times, before getting dizzy....

and Yay! Go Menorah!! I just love the colored candles!! I get to set them out, all lined up in a pretty rainbow of colors... I just love it!!! :grin

I'm in awe. It's rather hard to do both the bouncing and the loving of them, y'know, since the stuff is basically made of concrete. :)

Btw, LMAO at you sig :rollin

awww...but you see! You haven't tasted Glick's Sufganiyots! They are far from the plastic side of the pastry family. Go sufganiyots! *grins* You must come and taste one some time!

Oh.... why thank you! It's quite a fantastic fic :grin , for sure a must read! Have you? I highly reccomend it!!

Actually, Sufganiyot is already in plural. A single one is called Sufganiya So the 's' is unnecessary.

*laughs her evil Jewish laugh*

Sorry, Im un-fun like that sometimes. *skips off to find that fic in Pens*

Happy Ner-Revi'i ya'll!

What are your thoughts on the edible chanukah gelt? (had to ask... there are wrappers ALL over our house)

and a Happy Ner Revi'i to you! (and everybody else! oh, and of course Willow)

And, err, Tara22, what the hecks an edible chanukah gelt? Sounds all yummy and jello-y. :drool

Happy Ner-Shishi yall! Were getting so darn close to a full Menorah, gets me all warm and fuzzy inside :) .
