Anyway, the title of the thread relates to the supposed greeting offered by the volunteers working for the Games. It's one of those really nasal twangy slang things that "real" Mancunians say. Um, apparently.
And before you ask, I'm from Cheshire. Heh.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to two weeks of sports and bustling in the city centre. Manchester's a great city to be in at the moment and there's much going on. And what with 72 nations competing in almost as many venues (not really, heh) I was wondering how many members on the board are in the Commonwealth. Sorry that this excludes our American friends, but you guys kicked us out fair and square, so you don't get the opportunity to take part in this gig, and um, kick our ass like you generally do when it comes to sports. Heh.
Anyway, just thought I'd pop on and alert you all to the Games. Not that it's interesting for you if you don't care, which, I suspect, not many people do...but ho hum.
I won't be around for a while. I'm taking a break from stuff. But I wanted to grab the daily thread.
Cheers. People here have always been very good to me and that's what I remember. So thanks for that. Try not to miss me too much, or indeed, at all.
And I personally will miss the ass-kicking I would have gotten for that Manchester dig.
