Score one for the English chick on the coolness charts . . . You wanna be inherently cool, one of those people who just is but doesn't know it.
[/quote:6b498b62bb]
Oh well, if we're keeping score, English chicks definitely have a huge head start on the inherently cool chart. You're all swinging with that incredible accent thing that makes me go all melty in side. :thud

Seriously, if I ever decided to be a collector of something, I would collect English chicks. Especially English chicks that fancy the ladies. Yummy. :blush

God I remember watching Best Little Whorehouse In Texas as a kid and all those song are still stuck in my head. So I guess that leads to the uncoolness however I just have my own sense of cool. Have to say my guilty pleasure is Disneyland, it is the happiest place on earth, well until you work there. Ok, so it isn't so cool singing it's a small world while drunk.

Uncool, uncool, let me count the ways. That fact that, at nearly 30, I still have the complexion of a 16 year old boy is [i:cb06c904ce] intensely[/i:cb06c904ce] uncool. That only collection I really have is a varied owl collection. Figurines, candles, things like that. That might be uncool. *shrug* The fact that I did not have a television for five years is pretty uncool. My vast aray of relaxation CDs could be counted as uncool, but I can pass that off as needing it for my therapy practice. hehehe In fact, anytime I do something really odd all I have to say is, "I'm a massage therapist," and most people just shrug me off. :lol One of my instructors said we could get away with being weird by using our occupation that way. Sometimes I can't believe it actually works! The Buffy thing is considered uncool by my friends. Of course, I think one of my friends who likes Buffy and thinks it would be cool if Willow got another gf this season is [b:cb06c904ce] really[/b:cb06c904ce] uncool!!! The fact that I would rather sit at home and read a book than go out to a club with friends is considered uncool, but then, so is the anxiety attack that I tend to have when I DO go out with them. I also love subtitled foreign films. I would rather watch those and indies than anything else. I haven't seen Spiderman or any of the other major blockbusters of this past summer. The last movie I went to was AI, and I walked out in the middle of that. I don't even like to rent movies. I'm horribly uncool that way. [b:cb06c904ce] Dumbsaint[/b:cb06c904ce]- I'm so glad I'm not the only one that finds Anne Gedes so disturbing!!! GACK!!!! That crap gives me the creeps!! Willow's wardrobe is just hideously uncool! Especially the shoes, but I'll take that over to the Season Severed Rant thread. Tara? Hmmm... I guess I'll have to agree with what was said earlier about her oddball sense of humor being thought of as uncool. I think it's a hoot though! Fun thread, Tulipp!! Thanks!!

Speaking of potentially "uncool shoes"...

I myself am the proud owner of a pair of bright orange shoes. "Broncos orange" shoes, as I like to think of them. Out of context, they might be -- and probably are -- regarded as uncool. In fact, they do draw the occasional "Is the circus in town? Or is it another game day?" comment from friends and co-workers. But I don't care. They're "me". And I like them. Because they remind me of my Beloved Broncos. And that is enough for me to think that they are indeed cool.

Good topic, Tulipp. And I know you can vouch for me being intensely uncool. :)

So...let's see. I seem to bump into stuff a lot. I tend to dress like a 12 year-old boy in Garanimals (remember those? the kids' clothes with the special color-coded tags to help you match? "Hmm...which stripey t-shirt should I wear today?"). I carry an orange backpack. My hair is unruly. And I really, really like beets.

In the cool column...not much. I have a badass tattoo and I drink good bourbon. That's about it.

Willow and Tara? Well, Willow's so dorky she's cool, 'cause, you know, smart girls are so hot. As for Tara--goddesses don't really have to worry about coolness, do they?

Sigh. I have a large collection of stuffed animals, each with a distinct personality. I play role-playing games. All of them. I'm an original series Star Trek fan. I'm a huge fan of showtunes. Heck, I *write* the darned things. My favorite band is Negativland. I go to SciFi and gaming conventions. I read comic books avidly. I think swiss army knives are the coolest things on earth. I cry at affecting moments in even the worst movies. For that matter, I'm a fan of Really Really Bad Movies in general. I regularly embarass my girlfriend and everyone else with inappropriate or suggestive comments. The large, bright blue immobilizer totally covering my leg from ankle to crotch is currently interfering with my preferred seductive goth apparel. I'm a divorced insane deliberately underemployed bisexual writer. And I've spent about half a year now loudly declaiming in print and voice how offensive it is that a particular character died on a certain TV show.

Fortunately, I'm proud of most of that.

Incidentally, Ann Geddes scares the bejesus out of me, too.

Speaking of Dawsons Creek, did you guys know that the actress who played Jen plays a lesbian in If These Walls Could Talk 2? It was hot..Jen and Cloe Sevigny...hehe

Anyways as for my uncool status...
I'm 22, I love Willow and Tara. I mention The Kitten board in real life to non-WT/Buffy fans. Pathetic aint it?

As for my childhood, I supose it was uncool to always hang out with the guys in your kindergarden class playing Star Wars and GI Joe, and the one time the girls invite you to play, you end up being their puppy in playing House. Oh well.

And as for stickers, the other day I found a bunch of those foam Star Wars stickers....

I think coolness is all realtive. I mean, sure, we've all done some [b:44b4b01c46] dumb[/b:44b4b01c46] things, but that doesn't necessarily add or detract from coolness.

For example, when I made my Bowie, Iggy and Lou T-shirt, I thought it was the absolute coolest shirt ever. Then nobody commented on it and nobody knew who the hell those people were. But screw 'em, I love the shirt and I'm going to wear the shirt. So I'm wearing it to this party where a certain actress we all know and love is in attendance. And guess who could identify everybody on my shirt... AND said it was cool?

Now I'm a firm believer that if you love something, despite its "coolness," just let it ride. You never know when you'll be surprised to meet somebody who shares the love, y'know?

[b:44b4b01c46] If you think it's cool, then run with it. To hell with the people that don't "get it."[/b:44b4b01c46]

Oh, and [b:44b4b01c46] La[/b:44b4b01c46], perhaps you're in the wrong place for people to appreciate your pot-headedness. It's like meeting a long-lost sibling here. Immediate bonding ensues.

I am cool. I am cool. OK?

Nope - that didn't work. There are too many uncool things about me to mention (I'm all there with the Dawson Creek watching) but I do have a little uncool confession to make. Many years ago, I kept a Princess Diana scrapbook. I know. Shocking isn't it? A little Princess Di obssession. My sister still brings it up as a source of ridicule. Of course - I always reply with the age-old sister comeback - "Shut-up stinky head" but that's another story.

As for W/T - I think their total uncoolness makes them cool.

oh, I am so completely uncool. and becoming more so everyday. at least on this board BtVS obbsession isn't unusual. But along with my Buffy action figure collection and love of Star Wars movies (okay, it would be cool if I was a 12 year old boy, but a 26 year old woman - not so much)pending way to much time playing video games (been addicted since age 7), making sure I'm home at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon to watch Dawson's Creek (It's like going past an accident, I don't want to watch, but I can't tear my eyes away)
my music collection is too wide ranging, and it can kinda really ruin the cool factor, when you drive up and all anyone can hear is the bass - but when I open the door..it's the carpenters.."on top of the world looking down on creation...." and to some, my audiophile tendencies and willingness to spend more on a stereo system than some people spend on a car while discussing the implications of using one type of cable over another is not cool.
I'm really a complete geek. But over the past few years I've grown & I decided I don't care. Take me or leave me I'm a geek, and I embrace all my geeky tendencies :peace

oh, and I just realised how uncool it is to be sitting at my computer watching "JEM" cartoons that I've just downloaded....

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share something I just read in the newspaper, The Patriot Ledger. ( I live in Boston) The Dear Abbie section was all about Wiccans writing in to inform Abbie about how wrong she was in anwsering another girls letter awhile back. Abbie said that the girl who was a Wiccan was going through a phase and just trying to scare her parents, when in fact the girl was completely serious about her religion. One woman who wrote Abbie today was a Wiccan who was telling Abbie all about the Wiccan religion, and it was signed by Willow, a witch in Minnesota. :) I just thought it was cute how a girl named Willow wrote in about Wiccan beliefs. :) okay, done now!

Ah things that make me uncool, well I am 30 yrs. old and continue to sleep with my very beat-up (but lovable) stuffed dog Morgan that I have had since I was a 2 years old. I also love buying stuffed animals, and even had a tug of war with my 5 year old nephew over this cute teddy bear (the last one available in a store), I did win, but I do give Zach (my nephew) visitation rights to Bud the bear :) . My friends dread going to sappy movies with me, because I tend to get emotional and cry. Also love animals, and I can spend days just going to the zoo animal watching (love the discovery channel, animal planet). I too admit (although not an avid collector), find myself going gaga over stickers (the need to buy them) when I am in a store they seem to call to me :lol ! I probably could go on, but I think I will stop now.

I think I'm pretty cool, but my younger cousin doesn't seem to agree with me.

I used to collect comic books (mostly X-men and Spiderman) that are gathering dust in my room. I used to get into long discussions with my college friends about Buffy. I watch anime and read manga. I'd rather read a good book than see a movie. I'm a feminist and activist. All uncool according to my 18-year-old guy cousin.

Of course, coolness is relative.

What makes me uncool or cool in my alternative universe. My many obsessions. Here is just a sampling: Buffy, Star Wars(I have seen the movies so many times I can recite them line for line.), JC Superstar(I have this whole Jesus crush. Which is really weird considering my other crushes. But I just think JC was sexy as hell singing "Take this cup away from me..for I dont want to taste its poison...feel it burning...), Rent, Sound of Music, basically my whole musical theater thing, Melissa Etheridge(ok no that IS JUST cool), my musical taste in general anything from George Jones to ACDC, now for the crowning uncool achievement my Jane Austen obsession! I can read and watch Pride and Prejudice over and over again....

I don't know if this makes me uncool or just odd, but I collect rocks. Not like nice crystals you buy or anything, but regular old rocks from the ground. I don't know why I do it but I try to pick up a rock from every place I go, I've got a huge basket of rocks. :)

Also, my friends find the fact that I trip and fall down a lot to be uncool. I can't help it, I'm just really clumsy sometimes.

WiccansIllusion, I so can relate! I was a big tomboy when I was younger...okay, so I haven't fully grown out of it, but anyhow...I used to always be the damn Dog! I don't know why? I just always picked the dog. :eyebrow

I hated the girly-play with teapots-comb each others hair type crap. I was playing with legos, GI Joe's and outside Roller Hockey. We had teams and everything...I had a strange obsession with the Mighty Ducks. I thought Connie was cute, and now she's older and hotter in the Firestarter movie on Sci-Fi. . I seem to get obsesses with movies or cartoons. I miss gargoyles and ExoSquad. Now I have the Kittens and Willow and Tara to keep me happy. My uncoolness makes me...well me. :cool

I don't think I could make a list long enough.
I am a huge computer nerd (to the point that when I am hand-writing something on a piece of paper, I will sometimes write in HTML codes), I know l33t, I sometimes carry a calculator around in my back pocket, I can't dance (but I often try to), I'm a band dork (marching band). I read comic books, I am obsessed with Buffy, I read up to three books at one time, I write poetry, I'm just a huge nerd, but none of my friends seem to realize, they all say that I'm cool.

So I guess I'm doing a great job of hiding my secret idenity.

I was the type of person who only had one friend, but since I moved three years ago, I have friends coming out the wazoo.

Hey maybe I am actually a cool person

Nah!- definitly a nerd
