It seems to me that most of the obvious and well-thought out logical plans have been dealt with here, so let my try something silly and illogical instead. Let's be like Anya and think outside the box.
I wake up, it's September 2001 and I'm Willow. (Normally, a good start.) But, oh no! Horrible, unspeakable things are going to happen if I don't change things.
Willow thinks. And the more she thinks the more it seems there's something wrong here. Almost as though what was happening and what was apparently going to happen to her and her friends lives was some sort of poorly conceived, and remarkably cliched plot. how could this be? She decides to tell Tara and get her advice. Tara agrees that a little magic would be ok , they do a truth spell about the world around them and discover a troll named Joss in another universe is doing this to them! At which point they use all the mystical energy they can get their hands on to usurp control of this story from Joss and turn him into - well, i'll let your imaginations run rampant there, I was leaning towards a bunny, but that would be kind to him and mean to Anya.
And as for the troika and the biker demons and all the rest of it? Well, they would give control of the story of their lives to the writers in Pens, on a voluntary, rotating basis, and let them deal with it. The only rule is that W/T
have to stay together and in love, and Joss never ever gets a key to the executive washroom again. How's that?
