Did anyone notice the vaguely ironic sort of things that:
a)The ad for "subscribe to TV guide" was an issue about Buffy and
b)The voting thing was directly under a link to an article about Firefly?

I hardly ever vote in negative type polls but this time I just had to. Silly of me really, BtVS is sooooooo wonderful. So what if it's creator and writers have lied to us, laughed in our faces, treat the female characters on the show like shit, blew out the heart of the one half of the reason this board exists and have destroyed the other half. What is not to love? WillowTara who? :punch

Went and voted for Buffy. Didn't think it would be tough, but man...there are a few shows on there that I just can't stand. Of course, none of those shows ever made me want to puke, so, that made the decision a whole lot easier.

It was so hard to choose! So many bad shows on the list. I was tempted to vote for Touched By An Angel (never have liked that show) but I voted for Buffy.

Voted for BtVS.

My former investment in the show was shot to hell (yeah, I chose those words intentionally) by the awful writing and hoary, dangerous clich that was exhibited in Season Sux. How could that not go unrewarded?

Well, I voted 'yes", though it felt like I was sticking a knife in a friend's back in the process.
I only got into "Buffy" a little over a year ago, and now own every book, video, CD, DVD, comic book and whatever else there is out there you can name.
I'd like to feel that the show can be saved, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope. I haven't got enough posts yet to get into the Season thread, so I can't read spoilers etc., I just don't think "Dawn, the Vampire Slayer"...and we all know that this is where it's going..is going to work. A view I posted a long time ago and am going to re-post is this; they should have ended the show at the end of Season Five. Reasons as follows:
1. Willow and Tara together (that being the biggie)
2. Xander and Anya together (Ok, not my favorite couple but it's still a positive note.)
3. Buffy goes out a hero. Yes, she's dead, but, as we now know, she's in heaven and at peace. She deserves to rest at last.
4. Giles....well...he'll grieve....but being the man he is...he'll get on with life. I'd like to think he'll track down Olivia and they'll hook back up.
5. Dawn and Spike. One has the other. I'm not the biggest Spike fan in the world either, but in my heart of hearts, I know he'd never let anything happen to "Little Bit". I'm not suggesting that they'd have a relationship, perish the thought, but I'm thinking of him as guardian.
OK, getting off my soapbox now. Like I said, I want to see the show stay on, but not in it's current persona
Let's hope for the best and prepare for the worst....kind of what I said when I saw Tara's death looming on the horizon and didn't want to believe it.
Goddess Bless all,

Oh, and the show REALLY, REALLY sucks now.

For all of those who have already voted for Buffy -- go vote again!

I tried voting a 2nd time yesterday and I couldn't. Today it did though....

[b:2cd920bb9f] Buffy[/b:2cd920bb9f] is leading [b:2cd920bb9f] ER[/b:2cd920bb9f] by about 500 votes and [b:2cd920bb9f] Friends[/b:2cd920bb9f] is only 50 votes ahead!

[b:2cd920bb9f] VOTE SOON, VOTE OFTEN[/b:2cd920bb9f]

ps Remember, this is just a way for the TV Guide/media people to see how unhappy we are with the show now. Voting for Buffy doesn't mean it'll be cancelled, just that we're displeased. Voting in the poll itself means, implicitly, that we're still watching and, probably, that we're hoping it'll get better.

Completely off topic here so feel free to move but I bought the most amazing and beautiful porcelain doll today..It was this place where you could design your own doll and they are done up like witches ( a Halloween thing). It's about 2 feet tall, from the top of the witches hat to the bottom of the shoes, which are carved from wood. She has blonde hair, blue eyes and she looks just like Tara. There's even a cat hanging on to the back of her dress and she has a broom. It's really pretty (think of that doll that Tara got for her b'day in FAMILY and you'll have an idea, only bigger). I'm getting another one next week that is going to have red hair and green eyes..Tara has got to have her Willow y'know...the best thing, besides who they resemble? They're only $20.95...

It's a kiosk set up in the Mall of Georgia called Gepettos..I work there on the weekends so next time I'm there I'll go and get their business card....I'm serious, for 20.95, these things are a steal and then you can have your own Willow and Tara witch dolls... Another great thing about these dolls- aside from getting to choose their hair and eye color is that you get to choose what style of witches hat, what color witches dress and what style of witches stockings/shoes you want.. Mine has a regular hat with an orange band, a black dress, black and white jester style stocking and red shoes..I'm going to mix up Willow's wardrobe so they don't match..It's called CREATE A WITCH..Will post # or more when I have it...

Hey all, i'm pretty sure nobody has said anything about this on the board but if they have, mods, feel free to delete this or move it over.

I'm not sure how much exposure this is getting overseas, but it is pretty huge here in Australia, so far the number of people killed is i think over a hundred, with hundreds more injured as well. A lot of these people there were Australians and if anybody on the board has been effected in anyway, shape or form from these blasts i send my deepest condolenses. It's a shame that after the events of little over a year ago that another major catastrophe has occured, my thoughts are with the people who need them most at the moment.

Thanks
Nath

Words cannot express. My friend rung me last night to say that her sister arrived in Bali roughly the time the bomb went off. She had organised to celebrate her birthday with five friends who had flown in earlier. Unfortunately all five are missing presumed dead. I can't even begin to imagine the pain of losing so many loved ones in such a horrific way. Her family are begging her to come home but she wont leave until she's searched all the hospitals. Anyway many hugs to all the people affected by this awful tragedy. Tonight I'm just going to pray for peace.

And I think that there are around 200 Australians still missing.

I just read about the bombing in Bali and it's huge news in Malaysia. I'm really sorry to hear about the lost of loved ones and other innocents. I'm sending my deepest condolences.

I agree with spazz07 that it's a shame that such a catastrophe based upon terrorism happened so soon after the 9-11. I'm strongly against violence and fighting. In fact, I despise it. But it's impossible to stop these fighting and sick acts.

Now because of these terrorism acts, Malaysia has been unfairly blacklisted as a country that is capable of harbouring terrorists. It pains me because it affects a lot of people. Now Malaysians traveling out of Malaysia is scrutinised and on many cases denied visas and entry into various countries.

I hope that these violence cease. But that's just hoping. Listening to the current news... it looks pretty bleak. :(

My deepest condolences to Kittens affected by the bombing this weekend, and others out there like me who are hurting to see yet more senseless violence wreaked on the world. It's a screwed up world, but things like this make me love all the more fiercely the things in it that keep me sane, keep me smiling. Like you guys, for instance.

One of my closest friends is in Bali right now. When my girlfriend and I received the phone call the other morning to turn on the news....we started to panic and tons of friends came over to our place to worry and consol with one another. We hadn't heard anything from our friend and we were doing everything to try to find out any sort of information. All we could do was sit and wait...and pace...and pace...and pace. Luckily this morning, I received an email from my friend and she's okay. She had left that morning to go up to Ubud which is a little further north, she was however at the Sari Club the night before it was bombed and is totally shaken by the events. My condolences to anyone out there who lost a loved one.

I live in the South Pacific on an island called Kwajalein. Many of my friends travel to Bali all the time. As a matter a fact, a few friends were just there last week and my boss was suppose to fly there next week, she's now going to Thailand instead. I wasn't going until January, but may now change my plans. This whole thing is absolutely awful.
