good questions
I would add
why they felt that a show that has been based on female action hero would shunt said hero off to the side in the season finale and bring the male scoobies forward to save the women and the world
Well, tonight's the big night!! I am really looking forward to it and I hope I get to speak with Alyson and Joss. You guys gave me some great questions. I don't plan on being angry or confrontational if I have the opportunity to speak with Joss. I will probably just ask him why he chose to take that direction with Tara and if he understands the cliche and why we are all angry. I would love to get him to post on the board. Who knows, maybe he will. I will try and get some pictures and maybe Bob will post them for me since he is the expert. I have no idea how to do that. Anyway, I will report on the evening as soon as I can. Talk to you guys later!
Good luck Hellcat!!!!!! I wish you to enjoy very much!!!!!!
And, please, report to us if you will listen news!!! (hope good!!!) Thanks!
Ps: Only one question. Don't laugh on me, please. Can someone explain me why Joss and company are on the Emmies? What they will do there, they win something?? Sorry, but I'm not so much expert....... Thanks!
Hellcat, Would you please point out to him that we are as upset about the lies as we are Tara being killed, and that at this time last year, he was telling OUT magazine that he had no plans to send Tara anywhere, that she was a big part of the heart of the show. Also, the fact that alot of the writers throughout the year gave us false reassurances, too. He had a trust with his audience, and he blew it. GOOD LUCK
Well congrats to [b:3d33afa89f] hellcat[/b:3d33afa89f] for scoring the tickets and congrats to us for having such a worthy emissary attending on behalf of the kittens.
I will also be going, hopefully this will be more of a discussion than a push to gain Emmy votes. I am just really interested to hear what Joss says tonight.
Wouldn't it be nice if somebody would gather up the courage to actually deal with some of these issues? I can't see it happening, but it'd be nice.
I'm glad I am not going, since the bitterness is just a thin veneer over the rage and the police have better things to do than arrest me for getting frustrated and giving Whedon what I think he needs, which he wouldn't want.
If I did have a chance to ask some questions, though, I think it'd be a good idea to go over what little has come out of ME and use it to cut off their more common escape routes. If you start the question with "Nobody thinks you killed Tara [b:f9cf07d9e4]because[/b:f9cf07d9e4] she was gay, but...", that doesn't let them answer a detailed and nuanced question with a quick denial of homophobia and move on.
It all comes down to one paragraph for me: "I HAVE NO PLANS TO SEND TARA ANYWHERE. Amber and Alyson have such incredible chemistry and they're so romantic together. We have horrible, horrible things to do to them because they are on my show, but as a couple, I think they work really well. And even if she weren't going out with Willow, I think Tara's become a big part of the heart of the show."
What can I say. I have Wanda issues. She steals spoilers and makes stuff up. And I can just tell she's going to be milking any brush she has with Joss for like the rest of the summer as amazing scoop. She's nothing if not predictable in that arena.
3 weeks ago she talks about Charisma leaving [i:8fe7533a1a] Angel[/i:8fe7533a1a] and now after getting dissed by the show's executive producer she's all like "I told you she was coming back."
I really don't expect anything new to come out tonight, from either Wanda or Joss. I have a tiny bit of hope, but that is only because instead of putting the final nail into Tara's coffin at the music awards, Amber said the words 'back' and 'hopefully' in the same sentence.
Just don't get to cozy in your hope-- something tells me that Joss would get great pleasure in seeing that, then crushing you as a joke! (Or was that just Rally? )
Hi everyone. Just got back from the event and I'm wiped out. Just wanted to post a little something and will do the rest tomorrow. The best part for me was at the end I went up to the stage and spoke with Alison. The woman is beautiful!!!! She is so nice and will just talk to you like you have known her for years. Anyway, I told her that I felt the work her and Amber did was amazing and so, so, important. I said I am very disappointed that it had to end and she looked at me with her beautiful eyes and said "You never know". Those were here exact words so I now have some hope.
I will have lots more to share tomorrow when I have had some sleep. They did discuss Amber and Tara briefly and I will fill you in. I am sending the pictures to Bob now so he can post them for me. Talk to you guys tomorrow.
Wow, interesting. Semi-hopeful statements from both Aly and Amber (at the music awards the other night) Damn, I'm starting to feel a bit hopeful again. Gotta stamp that out, quick!
