I loved your Hawaiian-Tiki Doll-Spider in the Purse- take, on the whole GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT theme, Autumn. I laughed my ass off. :laugh
Now that's comedy, folks. :)

These boards are so therapeutic...in between our rants on the outrage that is now BtVS, a lot of these posts just ooze sardonic and very creative humor.

Thanks for the giggles, Autumn! :p

Well if we are going to plug fan fic...:) For the 'Reality Check' series I used a little time travel to shift Willow and Tara's first meeting back to Season 2. First two stories, [b:87d7a7a607] Rosenberg Squared[/b:87d7a7a607] and [b:87d7a7a607] Unforgettable[/b:87d7a7a607] are up on Pens in the 'Reality Check' thread. Third story 'Learning Curve' will be up as soon as its beta'd and I'm writing the fourth 'La la Land' now, as well as the outline of the fifth 'Heart of Stone'. here endeth the ad break. :grin

Um, in an effort to get this back on topic. Ahem.

When Tara said "That's the best part" and Xander, Spike and anyone else who is remotely irritating and gratuitously naked combusts, Willow and Tara rush to the bedroom window and survey the scene. Smouldering corpses; li'l pile o' ash; a stray stake whining and bitching to itself...

Standing back from the window, Willow blinks as though she can hardly believe her eyes. Grabbing a hold of Tara's waistband she pulls her close again for um...for [i:f8d556e37a] comfort[/i:f8d556e37a].

TARA: Okay...so maybe I was wrong about the making up being the best part. Cuz that just... [i:f8d556e37a] she looks at Willow for some kind of answer[/i:f8d556e37a]

WILLOW: [i:f8d556e37a] (giddily)[/i:f8d556e37a] That so rocked! No more puffy boy! No more whining Slayer! No more naked Sp... [i:f8d556e37a] (she finds she can hardly finish the words through her bile)[/i:f8d556e37a]

TARA: [i:f8d556e37a] (comfortingly and rather saucily)[/i:f8d556e37a] Oh sweetie. I'll be naked very shortly; will that help?

WILLOW: But...Xander...Buffy...Spike...all gone. Gone.

TARA: I know honey. But...ooh, lookee here...[i:f8d556e37a] (points to her chest)[/i:f8d556e37a] Boobies!

WILLOW: You're right. Tara breasts can solve everything.

[i:f8d556e37a] Both girls get their kit off and hop right into bed[/i:f8d556e37a]

THE END

I don't know Ruth, do you really think they would waste so many words on their good friends? It just isn't like Willow and Tara, selfish wenches that they are. Seems pretty out of character to me really.

You're right Garfield. It probably should be:

Willow and Tara survey the scene of devastation, before turning to one another, shrugging and sighing as if to say "Oh well" and then pounce.

THE END

Well. If I was Joss and I actually remembered having had a character named Tara and wanting to bring her back.. even with the 'non-mystical deaths = no resurect spell' rule, I'd think a bit and come to the brilliant conclusion that there's something called.....

TIME-TRAVEL

And there are spells and magical devices that can make it happen.

I read DragonLance, so sue me. :P

Anyway. I'd make a time travel, go to the past, save Tara and bring her to the present time.

Since there hasn't been (at least that I can remember) any episode where time-travelling has been a subject, it would be an original one too. :P

Sure, original, but think of the consequences! Have you seen Star Trek? ;) On the other hand, if it'll be abig reset... all right, I'm with you!

Well time travel has been used in the Buffyverse on one occasion in the Angel Ep 'I Will Remember You'. But that was limited to one day. Uising it on a bigger scale means rewrting big chunks of Buffy history, or undermining all sense of drama. After all if they can time travel they can fix everything thats gone wrong. You would need something random or something that could only be used once. This subject was sort of flogged to death when there was a specualtion thread. :)

Screw the consequences ! It can't become much messier than now, right ? ;) Not that much of a Trekkie, Penrose, but I vaguely remember a Voyager-ep that dealt with that kind of stuff. Time traveling isn't that original anymore, but it probably is in the scope of BtVS (alternative universes don't count :) )

Ooooh, if you were a Trekkie, you would understand the point to which they've flogged the time travel storyline to death... as long as they justify it (and don't make a habit of it) I'm all behind using time travel to fix things! :)

If you are Joss.....how would you end buffy?

Postby primalfigure » Fri Jun 14, 2002 2:40 pm

Maybe you could use Einstein's Cosmic String theory to an advantage here. Hmmmm...every moment, every choice creates alternate realities...how about that. Say a demon...call him...Mortimer...causes a "temporal vortex" creating a void that all realities begin to be sucked into. Buffy finds out about it, and the scoobies go to stop it. They do. And...near the end of the episode, they realize their reality was the only one to survive, and they all turn to hug each other.....

...and Buffy hugs Xander, Willow, and TARA??? Huh? The only reality that survived was the reality where Tara lived. The scooby gang all go on, where other once dead/eliminated characters...live..on. Miss Calendar drives by with Giles and their two kids, Faith is slaying so Buffy doesn't have to...Joyce is baking cookies, cooling on the sunporch of her house. The gang literally walks into the sunset, and Willlow stops...turns to Tara and says "Thank god, I didn't lose you. I couldn't go on without you. I can't imagine the hell of losing you." To which Tara replies, "Forget about that now, you never have to worry about losing me ever. I love you, you're my everything." The scooby gang smiles. Credits roll.

What do you think????

/sniff/ (-> happy sniffle, primalfigure ;) )

Yep, I do understand time travelling is a complicated matter, Penrose. I mean: life is such a peculiar thing. Some people believe in Fate, that it's somehow already written in the stars, others believe we make our own destiny, some think the truth lies in a bit of both. If you take into account one event sets into motion a whole string of others, and if you alter that event the outcome of the continuation might be entirely different, it's difficult to tamper with these things. Almost every fantasy/sci-fi series comes across it, though.

I'm recalling the Xena-ep "Remember nothing": where Xe goes back into time to find out how the world would look when she would never have turned into a warrior princess: turns out her younger brother Lyceus is still alive, but instead her mother is dead. She also meets Gabrielle, who isn't her optimistic babbling bard anymore...

Anyway, all things considered, with the gloomy outlook we have now, I wouldn't mind changing in this timeline for another, as long as Tara's alive. Sure, someone else might die, get shot in the back, say Xander :evil Sacrifices must be made ;)

Tara and Willow would be blessed by some goddess of some sort. Spike and Buffy would just get together. Xander would stop being such and ass. Dawn would grow up and quit with the whining. Anya would say something Anyaish as we fade to black.

I would like to see a "five years from now" episode to finish off. Willow and Tara are together (I don't care how), Dawn is all growed up and at University (studying history), Giles has married and come back to Sunnydale to settle down, Anya is still running the Magic Box - which is now a multi national chain, and (here's something out of left field) Buffy and Xander are married and have 2 kids (Willow and Alexander). All is right with the world.

Bloody hell - I think I've been possessed with the spirit of Walt Disney. I need help.

As Max stated in a Dark Angel-ep, just before she rescued a romantic mermaid/man-couple: "I'm going for the Disney-end(ing)..."

So moving... See, she gets it... And now they're gonna take the cool show off the air for Joss' f*cking Firefly... No fair :(

I think every ones willow/tara wish is the same, our girls, together, except would tara take willow back? Yes yes, they loved each other, and there was a total sex-fest going on, but willow is a MURDERER. She killed two people, and although we hated both of them, and possibly tara hated them too, that does not excuse what she did (from our point of view it did, but not from tara's coz that's what she's like). But our girls always find each other, don't they?

As for the rest of the gang. Maybe it could be told from the point of view of anya, about sixty or seventy years in the future, when the last scooby (Dawn, maybe? EDITED TO ADD: Oh! How about, on her tomb stone it reads: GET OUT! GET OUT! GET OUT!) is being buried, and it causes anya to become all retrospectivy and look back on what led them to all go their seperate ways, some may even die *cough*spike*cough*.

With Buffy specifically, i think she should find peace. One like a final acceptance of who and what she is. You may argue that she's already done that, but B is still terrible misserable at times, and it would be nice to see that lifted from her.

ALSO EDITED TO ADD: Maybe the hell mouth could be sealed up for good. Buffy no longer needs to stay in SunnyHell and so she and Dawn are going to start a better life somewhere else. Last shot would be of Buffy walking in the sun set for one final patrol. while we hear a voice over of Anya as she says something deep but in An Anya-y sort of a way. Something beautiful to close on. Fade to black, end of show.

Also would be nice to get Faith back to make her peace with B, cause i love that girl and i want more of her.

Weell if Dawn is a slayer Buffy could theoretically retire and whenever Fauth passes a way she could pass it along and go on with her life as well. As to sealing the Hellmouth forever well that would need some sort of super slayer...

Actually, Joss himself implied in one of the issues of "Fray" that the story of demons/vampires in this reality would end with some sort of giant apocalyptic battle between the Slayer and her allies against the forces of darkness.
