Don't kid yourself. Killing Tara was Joss' idea and now he and UPN can live with the consequences of their actions, mainly freefalling ratings....Hey morons: you don't kill off popular characters who are part of the heart of the show and one half of your viewers' favorite couple..........

My take on that was SMG's way of expressing general discontent with this season.

If they cared about our opinions, we wouldn't need to be yelling at them now!!! I just hope they're satisfied, since this was Joss's 'artistic vision' of trauma that "we don't want, but we NEED" ... sounds very totalitarian... Hello, 1984!!!

I agree. I think that despite what Joss and ME say, they know that alot of this season was a bust (mainly the second half). The actors seem to recognize this and the ratings seem to show it.
Y'know, I was wondering something. I'm sure UPN and ME know how upset alot of viewers are over the killing of Tara and the outrage felt by the gay community, but do you think SMG, AH , AB or the other actors are aware of just how upset the fans are with the show right now?

Everyone refers to Tara as the lesbian role model on Buffy, but let it be known that she was also a role model for us shy types. God, the Tara from Hush was soooo me before I discovered the wonders of Paxil. She showed me believing in yourself and opening up to people could change your world.

I agree SMG doesn't seem to be overly happy the way season 6 progressed, and remember she didn't want to move to UPN in the first place. She seemed quite content staying on the WB network while Joss was the main one wanting to jump ship to UPN.

Nouvelle that is very true. When I think of Tara sometimes what really hurts me is the type of person she was, the things she put up with and how she never lost her sense of self. They killed her and she was unlike anything on tv. It's a slap in the face of anyone who has ever felt like her.

I'm sure Amber knows from the way we've acted around her and talked to her both in Santa Barbara and at the theater last week. She probably doesn't know many of the details, but I'm sure she was able to pick up on our mood. I never hear very much about Aly interacting with the fans, so I'm not sure - although she [b:5cb6166358] was[/b:5cb6166358] worried about people not liking Willow after this season.

As for SMG, my gosh how many times have we heard her say "This is it, this is the end" by now? She wants out and she wants out ASAP. She doesn't need to know about fan outrage. It sounds like she has plenty of her own going on.

And hmmmm... that's very interesting to think that a lot of the S6 awfulness could be blamed on UPN and their quest for "boy numbers." Whatever happened to Joss Whedon the mighty "the kiss stays in or I quit" take-no-BS-from-the-suits? First we hear about how he's been letting FOX jerk him around on [i:5cb6166358] Firefly[/i:5cb6166358], and now we hear that maybe UPN kicked him around some on [i:5cb6166358] Buffy[/i:5cb6166358]. How the mighty have fallen...

Thats really interesting about what SMG said, she almost came out and criticized the show which I dont think I've seen a cast member do before.
But one thing we have to remember is that the actors are unlikely to be critical of Joss or the death of Tara outright, there pros doing a job. They may feel different privately but publicly they may not be critical how we want them to be about the show.
Still thats very cryptic stuff what Sarah said, strange indeed.

I am getting a headache from all the spin. I want to know what powers ME has to get this magazine to do their propaganda.

Buffy Revamps

No more downder days in Sunnydale. Look for Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon to inject a little Prozac into the UPN drama when it returns for season 7 this fall. "Last Season was about getting everyone so depressed they wanted to koll themselves, and next season's about bringing [the show] back to life," says Whedon. "I want to get back to where we started and to the theme, which is girl power." The action resumes at Sunnydale High with Dawn (MT) becoming a freshamn and Buffy (SMG) starting a new job! (Whedon won't divulge her profession, but wouldn't it be fitting if she replaced ASH's Giles as the librarian?) Whedon says a new villain, "everybody's worst nightmare," will wereak havoc in town while witch Willow (Aly) will be off for a spell with Giles in England. "I'm shooting scenes with Alyson and Tony in his [real-life English estate] for the Buffy premiere that involve Willow trying to deal with the magic in her that she can't get rid of." Oh, that old black magic. - Willi

Maybe some of the BtVS staff writers that didn't get brought over to Firefly are moonlighting as entertainment journalists.

there are a handful of companies who control the media which includes (newspapers/tv/mags/movies) xita

so any given show or movie the conglumerate wants to push gets cross cutting media play from the multiple divisions of said media conglomerate

thats why buffy which is made by 20th century fox/WB and airing on UPN gets repeated media play in a certain handful of mags (who just happen to be affiliated with 20th century fox/WB or UPN
