OK, never done this before but hey...

Today's Tara's birthday (according to the "First aired date" of Family).
I thought it deserved the daily thread.

So I wanted to celebrate it, in my own way and think about everything her character brought to people around the world. I want to celebrate her unyelding love, her gentle soul, her compassion and empathy. Because that's what she means to me.

Oh you bet this deserves it's own thread. I just looked up the original Family discussion thread in the Netherrealms. It's quite painful to read now considering what has happened since. Still the memories are good, it was a beautiful WT episode and it is the one that made me find this board. I found that thread while looking to find out what happened during Family. I just had to know Tara's "secret". I made my first post in that thread a few days after the ep had aired. I managed to delete it just before it got archived thank the lord. What a dorky post that was, unlike this one.[img:6360590a14]http://www.gamers-forums.com/smilies/ups/mtk/badteeth.gif[/img:6360590a14] Anyway, this is Tara's birthday, she is very much alive for me and WT are together, which is the only way it can be as they are meant to be forever. So this is a special day.

I remember the anticipation people here had for the original airing of this episode. It is still one of my favourite Buffy eps. It's positive message was also much appreciated, coming at a time when I was going through some RL shake-ups.

Sheesh, I remember watching this for the first time like it was yesterday. So excited because I knew it was going to have plenty of Willow and Tara moments. I hated the crap they put her through but the ending at the bronze made me so happy. Two women in love. It was such a wonderful thing to see.

It's too painful for me to watch Family right now, but one day I will again. In the meantime and after, heh, Willow and Tara are over on Pens being happy and alive with each other. Together forever in love. Yes.

Happy birthday to my favorite Scorpio temptress. And in honor of Tara's birthday, I would like officially declare this thread a Patrick-Swayze-singing-free zone.

Lord knows who this chick he's on about is, but if she's that much like the wind, I do wish ever so much that she'd simply tell him, "Blow me" and be done with it. Or perhaps she did, and that is what the song is really about.

But getting back to Tara, I dunno if this'll work, but, with the help of my favorite astrology website, I worked up a natal chart for Tara. Interested parties can even read her personalized horoscope for the day. Hopefully. Heh. The natal chart info is interesting, and in large part, fits with the complexities of her personality. I posted something like this wayyyyy a long time ago back when I first arrived here at the Kitten. I think I used Nov. 9th then, instead of the 7th, and 1981 instead of 1980, if memory serves. At any rate, yeah. Astrology doofus. That's me.

Wishing Tara and Willow a lovely day to themselves, full of kisses, nuzzles, fresh air, sunshine, and birthday cake fed from fingers.

Julia, the links worked just fine. I looked at the natal chart that you made up for her, because there have been times I wondered about it. I always had a feeling that her moon was in Cancer because of her strong maternal characteristics, but the moon in Scorpio still means its a water sign. She does have a lot of water and air in her chart, which would give her a strong emotional and intellectual personality. And of course the Libra ascendant would not only grant her physical beauty, but also contribute to her sense of fairness and objectivity. Very interesting thank you.

Sigh. I watched Family last night. I'm not even sure why; I certainly didn't make the connection between the episode and today's date. It's just...it's so very very sweet. And yet, so very upsetting. When I think of all that she went through and all that she conquered, it just rips my heart right out that she's no longer here.

And then...I go over to Pens and it's all not so bad. Beautiful, some of it. Sigh.

You know, I see the Cancerian influence in her, too, Rosenberg. But her Sun/Moon conjunction would give a strong Cancerian (Cancer is ruled by the moon) overlay to her basic personality (indicated by position of and aspects made to the sun), softening her Scorpio intensity somewhat. Or at least, as with the case of the Libra rising, obscuring it until a situation arises in which she needs it. In order to cast a chart, you need to know the exact time and place a person was born, so doing so for a fictional character isn't what you'd call astrologically sound. Heh. But it's fun. And I do it for my own fictional characters as a way of helping me to better understand them as fully rounded people. I purposely tweaked the time of birth with her chart so that she would have Libra rising because I'm convinced she has to have more Libra influence than just Venus and a few other planets there. Plus the dual Venus/Saturn conjunct her rising in Libra explains both her graces and her inhibitions pretty nicely, I think. People with Venus conjunct their rising
degree are, historically, pretty much the most lovely, charming, gracious, and warmest people in existence. So yeah. That's Tara.

Oh, and Ruth? For her place of birth, I used Modesto. Hee.

Thinking about the astrological import of Tara's being is kinda my way of thumbing my nose today at anyone who considers her to be no longer in the land of the living. I can look at her chart and see which lessons she has yet to tackle, what stories of hers there are yet to be told. Subversive astrology. Works for me.
