Hmm, that was a great meal. Not sure what [i:c633be6549] I[/i:c633be6549] had to eat, but it was a great meal. Perfect beginning to a perfect weekend.
From which I learned the following tips which I pass along to W/T, my sister Californians, in case they ever want to create some new memories on a getaway weekend:
1. pick a restaurant that's right on the beach (ideally in San Diego County).
2. pick a table right next to the window so you can watch the waves roll in at night while you dine.
3. come prepared to pick a new wine to share b/c it will always remain special for you. i recommend an Austrailian Shiraz. Yum.
4. if the woman you're with is quasi-orthodox and surprises you by ordering lobster, there are other Jewish taboos that will be falling by the wayside later that night.
5. cap off your meal with a long walk on the beach (note to self: next time, remember to move out of the line of vision of the other diners before moving in for dessert smoochies)
6. pick a hotel with a seaside room overlooking a marina. waking up together and looking out at the sun bouncing off the water and the sailboats is both memorable and wonderful. and so worth spending the extra money.
7. for breakfast, pick a restaurant on the beach. as dining by the ocean seems to have certain inevitable intimate consequences, try to leave enough time so that you don't have to rush off like maniacs to make it to Qualcomm Stadium just in time for the kickoff of the Broncos-Chargers game.
8. make sure your team wins, 21-7.
hmm, i don't remember what i had to eat the night before, but i remember the score of the Bronco game. that's scary.
