True confession: I've loved this scene on repeat viewings (duh!), but when I first saw it, I was confused. Not [i:cd3f044c3e] whether[/i:cd3f044c3e] there was something between them: a) I was spoiled, and b) again w/ the duh! Rather, how [i:cd3f044c3e] much[/i:cd3f044c3e] had gone on? Where was they're relationship really at?
For me there was this whole interplay of my personal Romanticism (really prefer an "I love you" and at least a kiss before sex), homophobia on TV (we're not going to see everything we would if this was a het couple) and the [i:cd3f044c3e] magic metaphor[/i:cd3f044c3e] (Was that sex? Or a spell that looked---and sounded, and felt, and even [i:cd3f044c3e] smelled[/i:cd3f044c3e]---like sex?).
Due to all of the above confusion (and I was not discussing BTVS online then), I was of the impression at the time (S4) that Willow and Tara had not really "gotten together" prior to [i:cd3f044c3e] New Moon Rising[/i:cd3f044c3e]. I sorta thought that that was the point of NMR (Willow choosing Tara, and "making it up to her" for expressing any doubts).
Then I came here, where it seemed most Kittens assumed that W&T got together [i:cd3f044c3e] no later[/i:cd3f044c3e] than the Flaming O . . . and I can certainly see that too. I mean, the scene is so freakin' [b:cd3f044c3e] Hot![/b:cd3f044c3e]
So I just don't know (but the Romantic in me still leans towards---melts under!---NMR).
GG [i:cd3f044c3e] Then again, [b:cd3f044c3e] so[/b:cd3f044c3e] love W's double "I trust you"![/i:cd3f044c3e]
