Postby Rally » Thu Jul 11, 2002 10:45 pm

Hmmm hmm, so do I want to cry, oh yeah, for sure, crying comes very easy these days as a lot of you can probably attest too. as well Times have been rough and we as a community have been through quite a lot.

It's ok to cry, it's ok to be upset, it's ok to feel ok. Ya know. So at any rate, Q for the day... kinda a questionaire day:

1) What type of thinks make you cry?
2) What scene in BtVS most makes you cry?
3) What W/T scene most makes you cry?
4) What do you think Willow and Tara would cry about?
5) What do you do to make yourself happy after you have had a good cry?

That's probably enough, good luck if you accept this challenge.

The Body, when Willow is trying to figure out what to wear always gets me, as does Anya's confusion about what is happening.

I'd say Willow cries a lot, as she's such an emotionally exuberant person. Never holds back with any of her emotions. Tara would cry because Willow was crying.

I'm a big old baby and often cry while reading a book or watching something on telly. But when I really want to sob my heart out I hide away somewhere. After a blubbering session I blare really loud music, as I find it to be most therapeutic.

Well, I'm off tomorrow to the wilds of County Kerry for a week. Planning lots of boating on the lakes, and trips up the mountains, and partaking of many brandies. Should be fun! [img:fdd6a21e2c]http://homepage.eircom.net/~mollyig/uppydown.gif[/img:fdd6a21e2c]

Uh, crying.. I do lots of it. Especially when reading, writing or watching Buffy. The end of The Gift always gets me, as does the scene on Angel, when Angel tells Buffy that they will turn the last 24hs back. [i:92892d6f3b] *sniff*[/i:92892d6f3b] Damn, I even cried during Spiderman, lol, damn.

I am such a cry baby, I can't help it. I cry when I have serious emotional discussions, I cry infront of people and alone, and often I have this 'nobody loves me' cries after some beer to much, heh. I just can't hold it back.

As for Willow and Tara crying. Uhm.. I think they both had enough reasons all their lives to cry. Loved ones died or didn't care enough or where taken away and whatnot. They both couldn't have it any worse, really. But I am sure they are both true enough to their feelings to not hold back. Which I think is the healthiest thing to do.

My parents often make me cry, coz the make me feel so powerless. Also when I get really angry I feel tears coming, but normally I manage to stop them. I mostly cry when I feel powerless or/and hopeless.

I normally don't cry to TV or movie things. But I did feel tears coming in the Body, especially when Willow started crying. That's always what hits me the most, when a character I really love is crying.

I think Willow cries when she like me feels powerless and hopeless, she is not as good at handling situations like that as Tara is. Tara cries when one of her loved ones are hurt, I think.

After I have cried, I often go online to talk with one of my very good friends, a Kitten too actually. She always help me feel better...

Blimey - I got to the daily thread in time to post an answer that hasn't come up yet - that's a first.

I'm soft as shite, and cry in front of the TV all the time but the W/T moment that sticks in my mind for this thread is one I'm sure I won't be alone in.

I sobbed like a baby all the way through Michelle Branch singing "Goodbye to you" at the end of Tabula Rasa. The shots of Tara packing and Willow crying in the bathroom were completely heart-wrenching.

I even well up when I hear that song on the album.

I cry over those damn Hallmark commercials. I don't know what it is about them. I cry at the movies sometimes, too. I was a basket case when I saw Schindler's List.

The scene at the end of Becoming Pt. 2, when Buffy is leaving town and they're playing "Full of Grace." Gets me every time.

For W/T there are two scenes. In NMR, when Tara tells Willow to do what makes her happy and of course, The Body, during Willow's breakdown.

I think Willow cries when her friends are sad and, of course, whenever Tara is unhappy. I think Tara cries when she thinks of her Mom and, of course, when Willow is in pain.

I don't usually do anything after I cry, because I always feel much better afterwards.

1) TV Breakups, especially if they were in a long relationship, even if the one party was to blame I'll probably shed a tear. Ya know, sappy stories will usually do it and when they really put a good close up on the two people involved, the emotions on their faces. Hell, it could be between a boy and his dog...in a cartoon..

2) Hmm, well, I cant say for sure right now as I'm rewatching the shows. There's alot I don't remember since it first aired. Thank God for eBay and VHS.

3) As of right now, I'd have to say [i:ac849da059] The Body[/i:ac849da059] when Willow's trying to figure out what she's going to wear and, of course, [i:ac849da059] Seeing Red[/i:ac849da059] cuz watching Willow cry makes me cry and well, I'm right there with her in that episode..

4) I think Willow would cry over many things. She's very emotional, but I think the very [i:ac849da059] thought[/i:ac849da059] of losing Tara would let the waterfalls run. Tara, not too sure. Emotionally, she stronger. I guess anything that would deal with her family, blood related or the Scoobies. I also agree with millyig; Tara would cry if she sees Willow crying.

5) I'm right-brained so I usually end up getting inspired and right something down or just play something. All of a sudden all my talents (if any) come pouring out.

Postby friskylez » Fri Jul 12, 2002 3:18 am

Hmmm i think Tara would cry if Willow was like very romantic and sweet and did all these littlel things for her :) Willow would cry if someone hurt Tara or made her upset, i still see her expressions from when Glory brainsucked Tara and the scene in Tabula Rusa when Tara was packing, not to mention the last scene in Seeing Red...

As for me, well sometimes i feel overwhelmed, work, not having someone in my life, my dads health, worry about my brothers etc..I even worry about my cat, who is 10 years old and i think how sad it would be if i didnt have her around anymore..She and i have been together longer than any of my exs :lol ...So i just have a good cry and its kind of cleansing, the "shit is still there", but for some reason, its like "ahhhhhh ok that was good, now ill try not to think about things for a few" :)

What i do to make myself happy or smile after a good cry is write a friend of mine, a wonderful artist, she and i have never met in person, we became friends over the internet...When shes feeling down or uninspired she writes me and when im feeling down like yesterday, i write her..She always manages to know what to say that will make me feel better..

Edited to answer the rest of the question :lol Buffy Scene: the one where she has to kill Angel even though he got his soul back...W/T scene, Entropy, I thought it was romantic and bittersweet, knowing what was going to happen...

1) What type of things make you cry?
Too much to list.

2) What scene in BtVS most makes you cry?
When Willow is with Tara on the bench in Tough Love after the brainsuck, Anya's speech in The body (every single time) and the last 2 mins of Seeing Red for what we lost. Actually I cry whenever Willow cries :( Aly is amazing.

3) What W/T scene most makes you cry?
Probably the end of Tough love. The end of Seeing Red isn't really about the two of them.

4) What do you think Willow and Tara would cry about?
The loss of Miss Kitty. Willow seem's emotional, but I bet Tara cries about her mother sometimes and Willow just holds her.

5) What do you do to make yourself happy after you have had a good cry?
Cuddle close to my gf, or read uplifting fanfic :)

Intersting questions Rally. I am at home feeling like crap today, maybe I need some good fanfic to cheer me up.

I'm not a crier. I guess I'm just that much butch. Not that I don't get emotionally affected, or anything; I just keep it more inside.

Big news day in Toronto - the garbage is going! The provincial government just legislated all the collectors back to work, even though there's still no agreement yet. The union is not happy; unfortunately, pretty much everyone else is.

And the BIG news - the Ontario Superior Court has ruled that not allowing gay marriages is unconstitutonal! Ontario, and the Federal government, have been given 2 years to introduce legislation allowing gay marriage. Wahoo!

In the meantime, the case will likely be heard by the federal Supreme Court (along with cases from BC and Quebec), which should bind it even tighter, unless the Court really pulls a fast one (which I doubt).

I've copied an article into the LGBT News thread for those curious.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

1) What type of thinks make you cry?
Lots of things really.
2) What scene in BtVS most makes you cry?
The part during Goodbye to You where Tara looks at Dawn and Dawn runs upstairs (Tabula Rasa) gets me every single time.
The end of Becoming where Willow had just given Angel his soul back and Buffy has to kill him anyway.
I suppose if I watched it, the end of Seeing Red would probably make me cry.
3) What W/T scene most makes you cry?
End of Tabula Rasa.
4) What do you think Willow and Tara would cry about?
Tara probably cries about her mother, and about Dawn. Willow cries at everything, kind of like I do.
5) What do you do to make yourself happy after you have had a good cry?
I take a nap.

Here's something for me to cry about... I still have this freakin' sore throat that I've had since Sunday. :cry

I finally gave in and went to the doctor this morning, and now I'm waiting for my happy penicillin prescription to be filled. Maybe that'll get me feeling better soon. However, my doctor also ordered me to do something that I don't do easily - [b:83066afaa2] rest![/b:83066afaa2] :shock I was trying to do the rewrite on my book, but now I'll have to delay that for a few days.

Things on [i:83066afaa2] Buffy[/i:83066afaa2] that have made me cry? You mean other than the pathetic way the last season ended? Probably the "Wish I Could Stay" duet between Tara and Giles in OMWF, because I could relate to what both of them were going through.

Have a great day, even with the crying, everyone! :bounce

1) What type of thinks make you cry?
Lately, it seems I've been crying at everything. Mostly sappy media (TV, movies, books, music) and I also get teary eyed when I am proud or really happy about something.

2) What scene in BtVS most makes you cry?
Happy cry: Checkpoint, Buffy's speech to Initiative
Sad cry: Buffy's breakdown at the end of Dead Things and T/G duet in OMWF

3) What W/T scene most makes you cry?
Happy cry: End of Entropy
Sad cry: End of TR and Willow's breakdown in The Body

4) What do you think Willow and Tara would cry about?
Same stuff everyone does. Willow is more of a crier than Tara, though.

5) What do you do to make yourself happy after you have had a good cry?
Cuddle with my honey...he always makes me feel better. Even if I'm crying because we've had an arguement...making up always makes me feel better.

1) Things that make me cry are usually sappy movies, someone I care about is either physically or emotionally hurt, I intern at a prosecutor's office and when I have to sort cases (even though you try to keep an certain amount of emotional distance) reading some of the brutal facts brings tears to my eyes, and when I get really angry tears usually comes to my eyes.

2) The scene that makes me cry happy tears is the end of NMR, when Willow returns to Tara, and tells her she is the one she loves.
As for sad tears I would agree, and say the end of TR. Especially with Tara outside with boxes with Dawn just running away from her, when she tries to give Dawn a hug (ie it finally hits me she is leaving Willow).

3) Scene that makes me cry the most would have to be the only time I actually watched the complete episode Seeing Red. Watching Willow cradling her soul-mate, pleading "Baby" it makes me cry so much (knowing how much W&T meant to each other, as well as what W&T meant to me, and watching it be cruelly destroyed).

4) Tara probably cries over memories of her mother, seeing Willow in pain/hurt, and etc. As for Willow any time Tara is hurt/pain (ie "brain-suck"), seeing Tara cry would probably make Willow's cry too, and etc.

5) Talking to friends, listening to soothing music, and raiding the fridge for comfort food (ice cream, chocolate, chips, and etc).

1. the types of things that make me cry are: seeing someone i care about in pain, having to say goodbye to something i love (person or pet).

2. the BTVS scene that makes me cry is when Buffy discovers her mom's body.

3. its a tie between Willow craddling Tara's body in Seeing Red and the scene in the dorm in the Body.

4. Tara probably cries when she sees those she loves and cares about in pain, as does Willow

5. anytime i am feeling sad or have cried, i usually put on some loud music, talk to a friend, hit a punching bag, or go for a long walk

Postby snuggle79 » Fri Jul 12, 2002 11:47 am

hey everybody,

1). Thoughts about death make me sad, because i am afraid of it. About my own or about my family. And when i see someone who dies tragically in a movie/tv i (often times) have to cry like a baby. But also really heartbreaking happy things
can make me cry. Well, let's call me a big baby..

2). Lately of course the one from seeing red, when Tara dies and Willow crying. And going on with the next episode Villains, when she is crying and saying "baby please". That's so horrible and still and so tough to watch.
The other one is mostly the whole "the body" episode.
I've cried in the scene when Buffy went to Dawn's school to tell her about their mother. That was really tough to watch.
And "tough love", after Willow found brain-sucked Tara and starts to cry and takes her into her arms. :(

3). As I've said, a). End of "seeing red"
b). Beginning of "villains"
c). Willow finding brain-sucked Tara

4). I think they would cry when they know that one of them would've been hurt or someone from their friends/families.

5). hm, i don't know for sure. I guess i just do nothing and wait till i calm down and everything turns out "nice big white clouds and happy blue heaven" again. I guess i usually like it to be alone in such moments. Also after the crying.

1) What type of thinks make you cry?
Everything.
Well, some things don't. But major confusion, death, even the sheer goodness of some movies make me cry. And plays... every time a musical comes to climax (not in a dirty way) I'm a wreck.

2) What scene in BtVS most makes you cry?
Ooh.... I dunno. Too many. I specifically remember bawling at the end of the gift.

3) What W/T scene most makes you cry?
Everyone else answered, but the end of Tabula Rasa sticks out.

4) What do you think Willow and Tara would cry about?
Well, we've seen Willow cry far too much in season 6, so.... everyone got the good answers before me, anyway.

5) What do you do to make yourself happy after you have had a good cry?
I play a stupid video game (like the sims) or have a conversation about something totally irrevalent (like comedians).

1) What type of things make you cry? [i:c494f7de38] E.T. makes me cry... it's the only movie that has ever made me cry. Um... seeing an animal in pain... um.. yeah.. not much makes me cry so it's a big deal when I do.. it means I've really been struck emotionally[/i:c494f7de38]

2) What scene in BtVS most makes you cry?[i:c494f7de38] Well, since the next question deals with W/T scenes specifically... then... I cried at the end of "Wrecked" when Willow was just sobbing her guts out. Seeing Willow in pain really gets to me[/i:c494f7de38]

3) What W/T scene most makes you cry?[i:c494f7de38] the end of Seeing Red and and the start of Villians... it's all one scene to me... and it's horribley painful to watch[/i:c494f7de38]

4) What do you think Willow and Tara would cry about?[i:c494f7de38] Hmm... well.. I guess it depends on if you mean individual cries or cries they've shared...They cried when Buffy died... They cried when their relationship fell apart... I wouldn't have been surprised if they had cried when they got back together... I don't think Tara cries all that much about "trivial things" by that I mean a sappy movie, or a that really sad infomercial about kids in ethiopia... (not that these things are unimportant) I just think she has cried enough in her life with her abusive family that it probably takes alot for her to break down into spontaneous tears. Willow... hmmm... Will wears her emotions on her sleeve... she probably does cry at sappy movies... sad infomercials.. I'm not so sure...but there is a difference between crying and bawling... and Willow only bawls when she's truly in a lot of pain.[/i:c494f7de38]

{{glances back at above... wow... essay much? :grin }}

5) What do you do to make yourself happy after you have had a good cry? [i:c494f7de38] I call up my best friend and we chat and joke for awhile... and I read some good ol' W/T smut!![/i:c494f7de38]

1) What type of things make you cry?
Feeling alone. The words "I don't want to be with you." Lies and long summer nights. Oh, and I cried like a baby when I watched the movie "Dancer in the Dark"
2) What scene in BtVS most makes you cry?
The scene in the Body, with Willow and her clothes, and especially when Anya says she doesn't understand. The scene the ep. after Seeing Red - Villains, was it? - where Dawn says "I couldn't leave her alone." Also the end of Tabula Rasa.
3) What W/T scene most makes you cry?
The end of Seeing Red, even though I knew what was coming for awhile. The end of Tabula Rasa.
4) What do you think Willow and Tara would cry about?
Ha, I think they probably cry together during Weepy Week. I think Willow cries when she feels helpless, and Tara cries when others are hurt. They probably cry when the other cries. I also like to think that sometimes they cry when making love because it's that good and beautiful.
5) What do you do to make yourself happy after you have had a good cry?
Hmm. I blow bubbles and take walks and talk to my little brother who can always make me smile.

1) What type of thinks make you cry?

Hm family things, movies with mother's relationship with their children, I guess I am a momma's girl.

2) What scene in BtVS most makes you cry?

I haven't cried much on Buffy. I cried when Buffy and Dawn come to terms with eachother and their dead mother in forever. I think what gets me is what Buffy was going through at the time which was being a grown up, doing all those grown up things you never thought you'd have to do.

3) What W/T scene most makes you cry?

Well seeing red, but not watching it, I cried a lot just reading the initial wildfeed
report.

4) What do you think Willow and Tara would cry about?

each other.

5) What do you do to make yourself happy after you have had a good cry?

Well just crying makes me feel better. Usually I end up crying after a long period of stress, usually in my gf's arms. Doesn't happen that often but it does the job.

Ok, I am soon off to party with the gay boys.. going out blergh. I am such a home body.

The entire episode of The Body, especially Anyas speech. Identify much?

3) What W/T scene most makes you cry?

The end of Tabula Rasa.

4) What do you think Willow and Tara would cry about?

Willow would cry about having Taras blood splattered all over her. Tara would cry if Willow were crying.

5) What do you do to make yourself happy after you have had a good cry?

HmmmI guess I need to work on that. I really dont cry very often, but when I do talking to friends afterwards seems to help.

What type of things makes me cry??? Well, sad scenes on BtVS...of course. Thinking about my past, and how hard it has been at times. Thinking of people whom I still love but, don't see anymore.

What scene in BtVS most makes me cry?? Well, pretty much the entire episode of "The Body"....so sad. :(

What W/T scene most makes me cry?? The breakup scene at the end of "Tabula Rasa". The horrible scene at the end of "Seeing Red".

What would W/T cry about?? Umm....well, I dunno. Anything concerning the other.

What do I do to make myself feel better after a good cry?? hmm.....well, I watch older episodes of Buffy..like from the 4th and the 5th seasons. That always puts a smile on my face. But, really once I've been crying.....it's sorta hard to get happy again. The sadness lurks around me forever. :(

I learned in the past year that it's okay to cry. It's good for the soul.

>1) What type of thinks make you cry?
Tragedy, triumph, and love. Not just romantic love, but the love among friends, family, and humanity.

>2) What scene in BtVS most makes you cry?
The end of "Seeing Red." It just killed a part of me.

>3) What W/T scene most makes you cry?
The end of "New Moon Rising."

>4) What do you think Willow and Tara would cry about?
Willow would cry over the pain of others. Tara would probably hold it in more, but would cry if Willow got hurt.

>5) What do you do to make yourself happy after you have had a good cry?
I write. Or talk to a good friend.

What type of things make me cry?

Experiencing (or deeply remembering) loss, so deaths of family, friends and pets or breaking up with a much loved girlfriend. Or sometimes in response to something creative which touches me deeply, could be a scene on tv or in a film, a play, an opera, a book or perhaps a poem. I've even been known to cry after reading a comic if it's well done and saying something painful and true.

What scene in BTVS most makes you cry?

Well pretty much the whole of The Body which just brings up so many memories and feelings about my own mothers death even though that was years ago. I cried at the ending of Becoming and in NMR even though I was desperate for Willow to choose Tara I cried in the scene with Oz in the van ( I thought it was wonderful writing and AH and SG played it so beautifully.) . First time I cried was probably the ending of Passion.

What W/T scene makes me cry?

I cried in Tough love when Willow is feeding Tara and says she's her girl.
Then in TR seeing them both in such pain when Tara left.

What do I think makes Willow and Tara cry?

Well obviously breaking up with each other and I'm sure they would cry for each other's pain. And they both have such big hearts that I think they'd cry seeing anyone or anything suffering when they were unable to help.

What do I do to feel better after I've been crying?

If there's piano handy I'll play sad music for hours on end, trying to give expression to my pain through my playing. Failing that I'll listen to heartfelt performances of sad/ moving music. Then later a judicious mix of talking to friends, comfort food and meditation.

Re: me crying: short answer, I cry when I'm upset. Longer answer: I become extremely upset when I can't reach someone, no matter what I say. The whole year-long agony of conflict/separation/divorce w/ my ex provoked [i:dd261cb68e] many[/i:dd261cb68e] tears. A close second would be the numerous times my parents have made me cry, when I couldn't make them understand how much they were hurting me <getting choked up as I type . . . moving on!>

If I had to give one single reason to go on living, it would be to live long enough to experience Tears of Joy. I can imagine them, fantasize about them often. But to actually cry them . . . Needless to say, it would have to be caused by/in the presence of the Beloved: may I meet her [b:dd261cb68e] SOON![/b:dd261cb68e]

When I think of movies that have made me cry (or choke up: I don't think there were actual tears), I think that they were a combination of sorrow and joy: [i:dd261cb68e] E.T.[/i:dd261cb68e] and [i:dd261cb68e] Brief Encounter[/i:dd261cb68e].

The music video of "Born in the USA" when Bruce howls as the camera pans across Arlington [i:dd261cb68e] always[/i:dd261cb68e] makes me lose it.

Buffy "choke up" moments: I didn't cry during [i:dd261cb68e] The Body[/i:dd261cb68e] but I have the special circumstance that my spouse left me a few hours earlier . . . I quite literally had no tears left. :( However, at the end of [i:dd261cb68e] Forever[/i:dd261cb68e], when Buffy said that if she stopped, her mom was really gone . . . :cry

As far as WT: I'm not sure. The end [i:dd261cb68e] Tabula Rasa[/i:dd261cb68e] was depressing, but it didn't make me cry. As for [i:dd261cb68e] Seeing Red/Villains[/i:dd261cb68e]: feh, I don't like to think about it. Alyson was brilliant, but I was/am too busy feeling mad about it to feel sad (although it could almost provoke tears of anger). >:

Back to that sorrow/joy combination: although it was very brief, and set amidst the drama of Buffy's sacrifice, the scene in [i:dd261cb68e] The Gift[/i:dd261cb68e] where Willow and Tara reunite after regaining Tara's sanity is beautiful, and a rare time where we see (I think) Tara crying along w/ Willow.

Good [i:dd261cb68e] :::sniff!:::[/i:dd261cb68e] topic!

GG [i:dd261cb68e] Any woman 25-45 who'd like to cause me to cry Tears of Joy please apply at my profile. Reciprocation offered![/i:dd261cb68e] :love Out
