It's "Nobody messes with my girl" Wednesda

Postby ninjitsugrrl » Wed Jun 05, 2002 5:22 am

Well, I don't see a daily thread yet so here I am!
I was watching "Bargaining" last night and this is probably one of my favorite W/T moments. Tara axing the demon and saying "Nobody messes with my girl."
So, my question (which doesn't really matter because the conversation WILL turn to sex) is what are your favorite subtle moments like this when Willow and Tara show their love for each other? or in what other ways are the two protective of each other?

Hmm.... I'm not gonna say the sex stuff, because I'm the first one to reply... so, In I Was Made to Love You, that little almost-jealous bit. Its like the epitomie of couple-dom. Or something.
I just had my last final. Very, very easy. I hope I do well. (My teachers are actually going to be able to get them back to me by tomorrow).

Staying with Bargaining. I like when Buffy jumps over the wall, and Willow immediately moves Tara behind her.

And in Family I think its really cute when Willow consoles Tara after missing a shot in pool by rubbing her arm.

And despite my urge to write an eight page piece on todays discussion topic I'll limit myself to one example.

During Family when Donny threatens Tara along the lines of,
"Tara if you don't get if you don't get in that car I swear by God I'm going to beat you down.".
Tara looks terrified and takes a step back. Willow notices this, you hear her take a deep inhilation of breath and she looks quite pissed off/concerned. I love that look on her face. I would have liked to have seen what she would have done if Xander hadn't stepped in.

That's our couple. Willow thinks Tara's a demon at that point and still gets, "step near her and I'll kill you" eyes when Tara's threatened. Not my absolute favourite protective moment but I'm a sucker for the subtle ones.

Also from Family, when Willow is holding onto Tara's finger in the scene where they are confronted by the Maclays in the Magic Box, this is *before* Willow learns Tara is not a demon and after she learns about Tara's spell. :love

Hmmm................let me see..............in In I Was Made to Love You, where Tara becomes a "little" jelous after Willow has said a "compliment" to another girl. Funny!
Than, in Tabula Rasa, when both have no memories but, when Tara and Willow jump down to the ground, look around and a demon attacks Tara, Willow immediately grabs and saves Tara. And obviously the famous "Nobody messes with my girl"!

OK, one of my favorite moments is in [i:7b9472aac9] Family[/i:7b9472aac9] (yeah I know big shocker there) when Willow shoots Tara's dad the death glare and says "I know that".

What about when Tara jumped in front of Willow to give Anya a good piece of her mind (in "Older and far away" was it ?) I was like "Whoa !" with a big smile on my face. Their love has never died, was still there :)

I like in Afterlife when they are in bed and "Buffy" comes in and starts throwing thngs around smashing thing over their heads. They both sit up and Willow puts her arm protectively over Tara's thigh.

Okay I know what will come to your minds first (sex) but I think in Seeing Red while they are in bed and talking Tara keeps on touching Willow. Her hair, her arm, her hand, she always seems to need to keep her hands on Willow. It wasn't sexual or erotic, just "I know you're here now" type of things and light comforting touches.

Well, the touching things. That was constant whenever they were together. Look at the scene in [i:852015e631] Bargaining 2[/i:852015e631] where Willow gets to the Magic Box. Tara's hands are stroking her shoulders or her hair the whole time. I think that's what made it almost comical when they were broken up. Because it was so obvious they never knew what the hell to do with their hands since before they were always on each other.

Way back in "Hush," these two hardly knew each other. They are running from The Gentlemen (and wouldn't you btw?). Willow trips. Tara immediately stops to help her up. From that moment on, we *know* Tara is good people.

"The Yoko Factor" when Willow is trying to decrypt the disks and Tara stands next to her, looking at the screen and playing with the ends of her hair. Spike sees it and immediately picks up on their intimacy & sexual chemistry (which leads him to make all those comments designed to drive them apart from their friends).

Tara also sticks up for W's computer skills: "She is a whiz!"

God, I love Tara's hands. *shakes head and tries to get back on topic*

Autumn--I love the "I know that!" line from Family too--it's such a shame the syndicated episodes on FX cut it.

I can't stand to watch Buffy on FX because they cut stuff like that. And now UPN is cutting repeats. Sheesh.

That was one of Aly's better moments in [i:04a6ab1494] Family[/i:04a6ab1494] and that is saying a lot. But snip. bah humbug.

FX mercilessly hacks the hell out of the episodes. I remember groaning how badly they cut up The Body.

Yeah, but the cuts are so ludicrous that it's easy to pretend that they've also chopped out the multiple scenes of Willow and Tara having sex. It's a fun game, especially first thing in the morning while waking up (the eps are repeated at 7 and 8 AM where I live).

*There, only 13 posts to fulfill ninjitsugrrl's prediction of where this post would end up.*

Another great moment of mutual support is, of course, the end of "The Gift," when they're holding one another up as they walk toward Buffy's body.

The scene that springs to my mind is the one in Real me. It is Tara telling to Willow that Dawn is maybe feeling left out when she is really talking about herself. Willow is really sweet and protective when she is saying "it's Giles because he is british and doesnt know stuff". Very funny and sweet moment. Also because of the hugging and your one of the good guys part

In the Body, when Willow says that she ate too much and her tummy hurts, and Tara offers to rub her tummy. Also in Hells Bells, the looks that they give each other as they help Anya

Well, I don't know if this is exactly "subtle," but I'm always overcome whenever I see the end of "Tough Love." Willow's commitment to her "always," even if she never recovers her sanity, is nothing less than a "for better for worse, in sickness and in health" commitment. And, just like the typical setting for those words, it is [i:fa1bb0b838] witnessed[/i:fa1bb0b838] (Buffy=Best Man, Dawn=Maid of Honor!). Moreover, Tara's reaction implies that, at least in part, [b:fa1bb0b838] Their Love Heals.[/b:fa1bb0b838] Love it. :love

GG [i:fa1bb0b838] Getting sniffly just thinking about it[/i:fa1bb0b838] Out

For me it has to be in The Body, when tara, willow, xander and anya are all in willows dorm room, anya is getting band aids for xanders hand after he stuck it though the wall, and just before the scene ends willow mouths to tara, " I love you"
we dont hear it, but it is just so pure, and it gets me everytime.

Edited to add - sorry didnt turn to sex yet.!!!!

Another moment is in "Tough Love" when Willow is holding Tara's hand in the hospital asking the doctor if she can take Tara home. The doctor asks if "Is she your sister" and Willow lovingly looks at Tara and says "She's my everything". I too also loved how Willow was subtly holding on to Tara's finger in the Magic Box while confronting Tara's family. Willow is showing her love/comfort with a single hold of the finger, letting Tara know they can get through this ugliness together.

Edited to add that I also liked the moment in "Crush" after W&T came back to the table after dancing in the Bronze Tara subtly stroked/rubbed Willow's arm when Buffy asked how Will was feeling due to having headaches from the teleportation spell of glory.

In "Afterlife" Willow tries to act like she isn't worried about Buffy, but Tara sees right through it and gets Willow to admit she is worried. Tara makes sure Willow knows that she(Willow) does not have to put up a front with her. Tara will always be there for Willow. *sigh*

I saw Bargaining part 2 last nite as well, it was the first time and i loved the scene where Tara axes the demon and says her line :lol I also like the episode where Faith and Buffy change bodys and they are in the Bronze and Buffy/Faith notices the way Tara watches Willow as she walks to get the drinks..Tara just cant take her eyes off Willow...I thought that was great :)

And i dont know if it was subtle but the chemistry they seemed to notice with regard to each other in Tabula Rusa, during the whole running away thing..Especially when they Willow falls on top of Tara and the wonderful "almost Kiss" takes place...I looooooved that scene :love

After last night's horrible baserunning by the M's, the Mariners came back and shut out the A's 5-0. The offense was spread around as 5 seperate Mariners had RBI's. 1B John Olerud has hit 4 doubles in the past 3 games. Starting Pitcher Jamie Moyer (5-2) pitched 8 great shutout innings and picked up the win. The M's improve their record to 37-21. The M's have one more game in Oakland before heading back home and starting interleague play against the Chicago Cubs.

I got a seat improvement for my season tickets. Woo Hoo. I think the Broncos are still drinking lite beer, but eating more carrots.

Oh, and I've decided the night on chat we were deciding these posting levels we must have been on crack to decide on "Fish in a Bowl" because I just really want to get to the next one. I'm sure Rally feels the same way. God knows Ruth was probably only at this level like 3 days with her posting habits.

So if you think I'm extra talkative now you know why. ;)

I am not sure how fish in the bowl made it either, especially since we had the wonderful [b:0198feb5f3] Troll Hammer[/b:0198feb5f3] from the same episode. But lord only knows that Ruth is stuck on [b:0198feb5f3] Applesauce and Tuna[/b:0198feb5f3]... and while I agree with Amber that having applesauce fed to you by attractive lesbians is probably a good thing... that level is just wrong.

Frankly I am counting the days until [b:0198feb5f3] Miss Psycho Pep Squad[/b:0198feb5f3].

LOL, and I think that level is my fault. I seem to recall remembering that they had brought poor brain sucked Tara a tuna fish sandwich, and then Willow was feeding her applesauce.

OK, I was drunk. And, uh, it's all xita's fault.

And don't be dissing the Troll Hammer, God knows we've needed it here. ;)
