Okay, I am not a moderator, so it is probably not my place to say this. But I'm going to say it anyway, so tough.
This. Is. A. Board. For. Willow/Tara. Shippers.
Not Willow/Xander shippers. Not Willow/Buffy shippers. Not Willow/anybody else shippers. Willow/Tara shippers. Y'know, the hot redhead and the shy, cute blonde? Yup, them. They're the whole reason for this board, and to be blunt, if you're not into W/T, then frankly you shouldn't even be here.
This is NOT a general Buffy discussion board. If you want general Buffy discussion, then by all means go to the Watchers' Diary, or the Cross and Stake, or the Beta Bronze, or Television Without Pity.
I'm saying this because, in spite of the fact that on the main page it clearly SAYS that this is a Willow/Tara board, a small minority of people persist in speculating on future love interests for Willow. You know, there's no false advertising going on here. It doesn't say anywhere - on the main page, in the rules, or anywhere else - that this is a general Buffy discussion board. The rules and the main page clearly state that [b:77431578c5] this is a Willow and Tara discussion board.[/b:77431578c5] Yet in spite of this, in spite of the banners and the photos, and the fact that W/T are the focus of the discussion, people still persist in coming here and speculating what Willow's new girlriend or (heaven forbid) boyfriend is going to be like, or who they're going to be. This is not new, not original, not clever, not interesting and not funny. People at the Cross and Stake were doing that kind of thing before 'Seeing Red' even aired. Willow/Xander shippers all over the net are doubtless rubbing their hands in glee right now. And you know what? Fine. Whatever. Given that I've got so much fun out of shipping Willow and Tara, it would be churlish of me to say that people [b:77431578c5] shouldn't[/b:77431578c5] ship a particular couple. But I would NOT be rude enough to go to a W/X board and say how much I like W/T. It would be inappropriate and pointless.
Similarly, people who come here with clueless comments about Willow's next love interest (and being the cynic I am, I'm sure that there's going to be one) are doing the equivalent of bringing alcohol to a gathering of teetotallers. I think I speak for the vast majority of people on this board when I say that we are not interested in seeing Willow with anyone other than Tara: the Tara that we knew. Not Tara's identical twin sister/long-lost cousin who happens to be gay and attracted to Willow. Not Anya dressed up as Tara. Not the Tara clone that the Initative created in their spare time. Not Tara from an alternate universe. Not Tara as a ghost, zombie, werewolf, vampire, or human/demon hybrid.
I am sure, given that ME have completely run out of any remotely interesting or original ideas, that they are actively considering all of the above. But I do not give a rat's arse about this. I want to see Willow and [b:77431578c5] our[/b:77431578c5] Tara back together. Not Willow and any other character, or Willlow and an ersatz Tara. I know that a reunion between Willow and our Tara probably won't happen, but I am glad that those of us who feel this way have this board as a haven.
If you want to ship other potential Willow ships: fine. But please realise that if you make those kind of comments here, you are insulting this community. It's like going to a posting board about Danish football and saying how glad you are that England beat them 3-0. If Willow gets a new love interest or gets together with an existing character, [b:77431578c5] please make comments about that ship elsewhere on the internet.[/b:77431578c5] Please, please have the manners and sense to realise that making comments about a potential relationship between Willow and anyone other than Tara is not only outside the remit of this board, but also irrelevant and hurtful to the vast majority of people who post here. That's all we ask.

Yes, I think people who come here must understand that the number one reason to be here is because you love willow and tara together. That is it. If your interests lie in proving how Buffy rocked in season 6, that's just not going to cut it. This is not the place. At the current time, this board and its interest are outside of BtVS because they discarded us and threw us in the garbage.

Next season there are some tricky issues. Amber will be back, how long? in what capacity? Will a Tara be good enough? Will something like Tara be good enough? I will take a stand and say that depends on how the show handles it. They could do things that make things ok. Do I have faith in that? No. I do have faith that the kitties can come together and try to deal with that and move forward as a community.

I really dont understand people who come here who dont love W/T, why would you come here if you didnt love W/T? A lot of people say they love W/T, but if you read what they post, you can easily tell that's [b:c7155c1efc] not[/b:c7155c1efc] the case. No true W/T shipper would ever want to see Willow with anyone else than Tara, thats the whole point of being a shipper, a real shipper, not these people who like W/T, they dont [b:c7155c1efc] love[/b:c7155c1efc] them like the rest of us do. Those statements are not the end of the story though. There other are conflicting reports and we all know ME lies but all that is best dicussed in those threads rather than here as you realised. I can understand having to ask though!

Well said Tyche. In the other thread, I just didn't get why people come to this board, post off-FAQ, and then complain when they get flamed.

I think that those people don't understand that this is a Willow AND Tara discussion board, not a Willow or Tara board. And I don't know how much clearer we can make it.

I also shouldn't have said anything on the other thread, I'm sorry (apologizes to mods for having started this, again). I just get really annoyed, and the less sleep I have, the more likely I am to respond.

Tyche that was very well said and one of the reasons I don't go to the WillTara newsgroup anymore. If I wanted to read about Buffy and Willow being a couple (believe me I don't) I would find a board devoted to this ship. It doesn't take too much common sense to figure-out that a board devoted to W&T wouldn't want to talk/consider Willow paired with anyone else.

However, I agree it might get a tad tricky if Amber ends-up playing "a Tara" for an extended period of time. In that case it would depend how ME portrays this, and knowing there latest "track-record" I don't put too much faith in them pulling this off with dignity. But yes I come here to read about Willow and our Tara, and not about some other pairing!

As harsh at it may seem kicking such people out is the only real solution. I was amoderator on a Buffy group, which was great until we acquired some humourless newbies. Trust me tryng to reason with them is a lost cause, its just an invite to them to try and rewrite the group to be what they want. It has to be stomped on hard and stomped on early. Which I'm pleased to see our mods are expert at.

I mean what do you think they wanted to do with their lives beyond the magic and simply being together? At one time there was the suggestion that Willow might teach, but that seemed to go by the board. So what do you think their plans were? And might still be in the realm of Pens.

Well, beyond the obvious computer stuff for Willow, I'd say that Tara (Willow too, a bit, but mostly Tara) would be good for psychology. She's supportive, listens well and seems to have an intuitive grasp for people. I mean, she knew right away that Buffy wasn't *Buffy*, and she hadn't even met her!

I can kind of picture Willow being a doctor- maybe a Pediatrician? Tara, I see as leaning more towards a History/Humanities/Art degree. Probably teaching, maybe working in a museum or auction house?
