It's been a few years since I watched Don's Plum but I remember struggling through it.
I remember it being a super bro-ey film. Sort of Clerks meets Chasing Amy meets Swingers. With Maguire and DiCaprio being creep- and douche-tastic respectively. And if it's true that they impro-ed most of it, that might explain why DiCaprio has such a hate-on for it. I mean that was ton of straight up misogyny in there. I mean, how're you going to be Mr. Titanic Heart-throb with that movie floating around.
But as a piece of film making, they accomplished a whole lot with very little.
