Reading this update left me with a warm, chocolatey feeling all over, that's the best I can describe it. I know I keep harking back to how I love the way you build their relationship through the little things, but it's so true and did I mention you do it so well?

Willow noticing Confusing, deciding to be brave, not taking her phone out to coffee. Tara's appreciation of Willow's sensitivity about Donnie. Their shared reaction to Radioactive Oddity.

The standout scene to me this time was the laundromat. Willow's nonchalant playfulness, Tara's insecurities (still? at this stage?). The adorable lines. Sigh. Like I said, warm chocolatey goo.

If that's what happened during one day, their first full day in the same apartment, I can't imagine what the next 13 will be like. Actually I can, and I'm turning into warm choc fudge pudding again.

Hey, just wanted to tell you that I'm completely caught up with the story. I'll probably come back later and fill you in on what I've thought of each part since I've last responded, but for right now I just want to tell you that you've become my favorite author of late. The last update, when Willow is "brave", I squealed like a little girl. I was severely tempted to start jumping up and down on my bed, that's how excited I was.

Thank you so much for sharing this story with us.

willow staying up til 2:30 to see tara again had me smiling, as i was awoken by police sirens at 3:00 this morning, so decided to check for neverland update. and lucky me!-perfect timing. love willow's whole logic tree approach to analyzing her tara time. i think she should consider some if/then statements-for instance: IF the color of your eyes reminds tara of poetry, THEN she is flirting, not teasing.

also this: "she wanted to make love to willow. badly" funny, i would think she'd want to do it well :)

only the one little xander thought this time. wow, when tara clues in that this whole xander sitch has only been in her mind (and buffy's) and her dominos start to fall-all these things were about her, what a total mind blow.

and the whole little coffee trek-ulta cute. with it being open mike nite, and willow telling tara she should sing, you could've gone for the ultra-cheeze there, but then you let the situation fall apart with performance art guy. like when you had the rickety chair NOT collapse, i like how you set up these situations, and then diffuse them.

hhmmm, now that you've admitted you judge others on their playlists, not sure i'm going to give up my musical suspicions. matthew ryan's "i can't steal you" came on while i was reading this (the second, more awake time) and it was a very nice fit. and yes, rhett miller so rocks! the other day my pod shuffled from an old 97's track to a thermals track, and the bass and drums stayed exactly the same. it was like a fun machine organ with a country/punk setting or something.

hope your holidays go well and bring positive news for your dad~mary

Neverland - Part 36

Postby starcat73 » Mon Dec 20, 2004 9:40 am

:sheep That was the most romantic thing I have ever read. I love how Willow keep telling herself to be brave and to continue with the touching. Yay for touching!!

Quote:

____________________________________________________

Well, you could always start with an innocent touch, brush your hand across her arm and accidently touch her boob, lose control at the sensation, and end up pinning her against a wall and kissing her senseless... Willow's wide eyes blinked as her brain supplied the visual. Oh yeah

____________________________________________________

:lmao Yes Willow that would be a very good start. If only we all could be so brave. Now we just need Tara to follow Willow's lead and we will have lift off. But I know, I know it's too easy. Things can never be easy with you.:devilish I am just waiting here for the impact. I know it's coming :paranoid .

That update was so beautiful. I don't even have the words to describe it. If I did, I would be as good as a writer as you. See I am horrible with words. So I will show you how I felt after reading this update.

heya!

I'd willing to stay up till 2 or 3 or 4 am in the morning as well to see and to talk to Tara again. :D lol

I loved Willow's "be brave be brave" and that she indeed was very brave. You actually gave me some little personal help, since i have some sort of a mission as well tonight with a special person and i will think of this "be brave be brave" as well, a little encouragement for myself. ;)

Their little flirts are as always very adorable. I want more of that. :)

Awesome update!

Heather,

Wow what wonderful updates. Just when I think I have reached my limit at being completely awed :bow by your writing talent, you write yet another incredible piece. Your talent is just so amazing. Each time I get impatient wanting another update, I reread the previous one, and tell myself to be patient because good things come to those who wait. But good things don't come, EXCELLENT things come. I will tell you what the kids tell me. "You Rock!! :dance I really enjoyed the comment about behaving like a fifth grade boy. That was hilarious. :laugh

Let me give you a laugh in return. Friday was our last day before two week winter break. I didn't feel like doing anything really taxing so I found a math worksheet. It had 18 basketballs each with a multiplication problem in it. After solving the problems, the kids had to cut them out and arrange them according to clues given. Here is what one of my boys innocently asked me. "Would you take a look at my balls and see if they look right to you?" I about died wanting to laugh and trying to get the kids who were giggling to stop. The first reply that came to my mind was, "No thanks. I want to keep my job." Instead I just responded that the answers looked correct and walked away. Let me tell you we have been laughing about that non-stop. :lmao

Anyway, hope your dad and the rest of your family are doing okay. Have a wonderful and safe holiday.

I'm so chuffed you've updated! You have no idea how many times i check the board to see if you've updated......and coming to think of it.......erm *nervous laugh*........it's probably best if you don't........less scary that way!

Very cute update. I can totally understand the 'i heart San Francisco' part, perfectly good writing space going to waste, can't have that. Good for Willow with the being brave touching, they're slowly getting there..........

I.Can.Not.Wait until the next update! Bring on Anya with her inappropriate and weirdly insightful comments...yay!

OOoooooohhhhhhh mega speechless

Postby DreamLover » Mon Dec 20, 2004 1:06 pm

Hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhheee that didn't sound right, brain isn't working right now it's speechless. Let me try again.

Hhhelllo Heather,

That's better, your :kdevil evil in a good way off course but still evil. Do you know what you are doing too us, at least too me!

I'm having a serious problem over here a final melt down. This is pure torture! Because of what you are doing. Ok slow is good but this isn't only slow it's........ :thud :thud :thud :thud :thud and don't forget :whistle :whistle :whistle :whistle :whistle and :flower I think I can't life a day without it anymore, so keep it up.

I'm still impressed with every update you do. You got me under your writing. *Laugh*

I nearly forgot thank you for the touching. Willow is finally getting somewhere about time. I loved it!!!!! Now only Tara has to make some moves "wild soft Tara" like that idea. I know Tara is a wild one the shy ones always are and especially after what you wrote.

Quote:
She wanted to make love to Willow. Badly. Wanted to touch her and kiss her and make her scream. But, she wanted more than that too.

Ok don't worry I now there is more then only a wild side but we all know that because of the way you write. I can read in your writing that Tara wants more she wants to give herself completely to the one she really loves. There where her heart belongs. It's only a matter of time. And you are the only one who knows, when the time is right.

So I'm :pray :pray :pray :pray :pray since the further update and my life are in your hands. I hope you don't let me wait to long......... for the next update.

Merry X-mass and a great 2005

Wow. And I mean that, too. Wow. Willow is finally starting to be brave, and it's paying off big time. Now that she's getting more used to interacting closely with Tara, maybe she'll be able to survive seeing Anya. Or maybe Anya will embarass them into admitting their mutual love, longing, attraction, et cetera? Hint, hint.

What an ending

Postby serendipitous » Mon Dec 20, 2004 2:39 pm

What a great update. And what a great ending! I love how you ended on Willow staying up to see Tara one last time. That was just unbelievably sweet! Well, since Willow's mom will be in town soon, she seems to be preparing herself to tell Tara her feelings. Now, don't ruin all these good updates with some catastrophe that keeps Willow's mom away from SF or even worse, keeps "the talk" from even happening while she is there. Still love the small details you always provide and the amazing character development. And of course, the frequent updates! What a Christmas present! Cheers :peace

I love that “brave mode” Willow, I can imagine Tara’s face every time Willow surprises her… it’s priceless and so funny :shock . And maybe that precious day you described to us will make Willow a little bit more self-assured, she must stop thinking about “big gay joda” and stuff like that. She can make Tara feel like a little child, amazed every time she discovers something new and lovely about her. For some time in this update they looked like a happy couple :luv2 and that’s great because I’m going to be “out of internet business” :crash for some time and that’s the kind of image I wanted to have for my Christmas holidays. :brr

Thank you again for another adorable update.

Hey Heather,

I better get my feedback posted quick while the baby sleeps and before we go to the in-laws for a week. From reading this update I would say that you will really love Bellwether when you get it. (I actually got it for the holidays and can't wait to reread it).

This update is absolutely wonderful. I have to say that at this point they've really left the realm of realizing that "I care about her" and each has to know that "she likes me too!" No way they could not know that. Willow's impromptu window writing was quite cute.

Well done and nice touches. Have a great holiday.

Anyway, like most it's late and I could not go to bed without reading it all and leaving feedback, another amazing update.

A personal question though, if you're not a computer person or an artist, what do you do? something smart i'm sure? :blush

I hope you have a good xmas and happy new year.....unless you update before then (please, please, please, please, please.....no pressure....please, please, please etc.)

Can I just say that this made me cry..

Quote:
She wondered what Willow would look like as she aged. What she would look like when her fiery red hair went white and lines crossed her face, little wrinkles framing her lips and eyes. Tara turned and looked at the glass palette resting at the bottom of the easel across the room; seeing the green, she smiled. Willow's eyes undoubtably would still sparkle when she was old, and Tara was sure that she'd still see Willow as she was now when she looked into them, at any age. She'd always see the girl she fell in love with. Tara shook her head as she turned off the tap and dried the brush on the rag at her waist.

So beautiful. Your gift with words is astounding. Thanks for making my night. As always I can not wait to read more.

Two fantasticly positive updates!

Go! Brave Willow! Go! Brave Willow! (Chanted to: Go! Speed Racer!)

She's going to be exhausted by the time her mom gets there on the weekend at this rate. That's OK hopefully she will get through it so she can tell Tara!

Loved the open-mike night at the coffee shop, that performance artist was definitly worth a snicker or two. And the impromptu backwards window writing!

Go! Brave Willow!

Re: OOoooooohhhhhhh mega speechless

Postby Artemis » Mon Dec 20, 2004 9:24 pm

:bow

That chapter was start-to-finish sweet. The opening, with Willow analysing everything and anything - so Willow :) And great that she's becoming more brave, helped by her own determination, and Tara's friendliness as well - calling her adorable (even if she did kind of do that by accident), telling her her eyes were amazing, Willow's got a bit of a confidence boost.

And it pays off - it's amazing to think that the whole go-out-for-coffee episode is all down to Willow being brave enough to go ask Tara if she wanted to go for coffee. Okay, it sounds pretty obvious when I put it like that, but you know what I mean - the whole ponytail guy incident, talking about their families, Radiophonic Oddity (with a name like that, they really should have been prepared), walking arm-in-arm (go Willow! :bounce ), and then lovely little bit where Will went and drew in the mist on the window. Tara's right, she's so cute.

Would've been interesting had she said so, what with Willow's earlier speculation that she'd faint if Tara called her 'cute'. Of course Willow got a warm feeling from that, but it seems like something different for her to suggest "adorable?" and Tara to agree, to just Tara saying "You're cute" without prompting. Then again it's a positive either way, and Willow's happy, so, baby steps...

Sad about Tara and Donnie, but it was nice that - even if inadvertently - it brought Willow and Tara a little closer together. It sounds like Tara really will appreciate having someone to talk to about that now and then, when it gets frustrating. And though Willow will no doubt be sorry that Tara's frustrated by it all, I imagine she'll be pleased that she can help, just by listening. Also sad about the heirlooms that got sold off :cry And as for Donnie - well, the only positive is that I get to use my favourite smiley again: :fit2 Quite true about the executor thing, I know from experience - that's why Darth Vader's star destroyer is called 'Executor', you know, because it's a five-mile-long pain in the butt to anyone around it. Still, these things have to be done... I'm right with Willow in admiring Tara for being so mature. It's amazing when you stop and think about her, she's so young yet she's got so much of her life in order already - lovely house, prospering career doing something she loves, good friends (even if Anya is kind of batty)... all she needs is a Willow to snuggle with. And she's even got one of those in-house! :D

Speaking of that whole inheritance thing - because of the link with Willow knowing of it largely through Buffy - this chapter managed to fill in a lot of detail about Buffy and Tara's friendship, without Buffy actually being there :) That was a really neat and natural way to do that, having Willow thinking about their friendship and comparing it to hers and Tara's.

Oh, apropos of nothing, I loved Tara's little tease about Willow being without her cellphone. Willow certainly doesn't have a monopoly on being adorable :blush

And speaking of adorable, that bit with Willow walking down the stairs really sloooowly so she could hear Tara sing, that was great. Perfect timing too - I was just thinking 'Yep, I bet she doesn't hurry down the stairs-' and then I was reading that exact thing. It's stuff like that that grabs me completely and sort of immerses me in the story. Anyway, okay, so the audience at the cafe is a bit strange in its tastes, but it would be great to have Tara sing. Or maybe just a private performance for an audience of one :heart

Radiophonic Oddity... :lmao

Willow staying up just to see Tara once more before she went to bed, that was so "awwwww" :luv And again, perfect timing, I was just thinking "Hmm, did she stay up just to-" and yep, she did. Tara blushing at "Got everything done downstairs?" was great :lol And an outing (though not Outing) to look forward to in the next update, what could be better? I'm really wondering what'll happen when they see Anya again though - if Willow's being brave again and they're walking arm-in-arm, she'll probably start the conversation with "Hi, so you two are having sex now, how is it?"

Once more, great work :bow

Edited because I'm such a doofus I forgot to mention: Tara's imagining her life with Willow was so sweet there isn't a smiley for it. All of it was awesome, but the thing that I want to give you a special congratulations on, because it was such a lovely, perfect image, was the two of them sitting up in bed reading the paper, talking about random stuff. Then Tara tossing the paper away, and hotness ensues :) But mainly just the feel of the two of them not just being hot for each other, or doing sweet stuff all the time, or having orgasmariffic sex, but being two people who're... see, I can't think of the right words for it. Just living their lives together, that's what they really want - not just sweetness or hotness or snuggles, not that any of those are bad, but they really truly want the whole deal, to be with each other. Does that make any sense? Good, let's pretend it did. That was great :bow

Edited again to add that I was laughing out loud at Willow's thought spinning in one sentence from casually touching Tara's arm to kissing her up against the wall :lmao Okay, I'll stop now, but I had to mention that. And Tara thinking she'd be thinking up names for their children (pity she had to think 'never to exist' children, but I guess the ball's still in Willow's court with the coming out issue - it's good they're becoming friends though, so it's not like they're just wasting time).

Oh, and merry christmas, and may there be much happiness and goodness and yummy chocolate for you and your loved ones

Dude.. again you amaze me. I'm sure you knew you would, cuz I say you do everytime.. but for real! haha

Me and Kristyn read this together again, lol, and she had pointed out the whole "She wanted to make love to Willow... everyday, for the rest of her life" paragraph.. and how perfect that'd be... it's what we all want, so why not give it to them, eh?!

Also the Snuggling and heartbeat paragraph. Just so sweet, and just perfect. I can't wait to read when they actually do that.

Yay for Willow being brave! I was waiting for a point where she may have gotten braver and held her hand or something, but that may have been too much.. maybe next update ;)

Tara actually liking that Willow asked about Donny and such, that's always a good sign. I know she said everyone else walks around on egg-shells around her, but maybe if they DID ask about it, would she have been as ok with it with them as she was with Willow, or is it just the fact that it was Willow? Like the whole sharing the paintings.. thing.. ? Just a random thought. lol

Oh man, and so funny with the open-mic night! :lol I SO would have busted out laughing and then ran outta there without my coffee! hahaha I'm so mean :p

Lastly, Willow staying up, pretending she was working.. which I'm sure she probably was, but ONLY to see Tara.. yes.. adorable. Oh speaking of.. Tara not saying "That was so cute" *sigh* I wish she would have. That would have given Willow a boost. Even if the "adorable" did, something along with the adorable would have even more.. you know? Iss all good. Anyways.. back to the staying up. It's things like that.. that I wish Tara knew.. I mean.. knew why Willow was up for real. But that's just too easy huh? ;)

Can't wait to read whats comin up next!!! Have a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year! Assuming nothing will be up by then.. I know I wouldn't bother lol But hey you're so kickass, you may surprise me! lol

This fic just keeps topping itself in the Sheer Awesome department - it really, really does.

I really can't compliment you enough on such a wonderful piece of writing - and sadly, I don't have time to try right now (rather like Willow, I never ever should have set up my home computer to log into the office). So, in short, I just want to say that the way you right Willow and Tara with such ease and familiarity makes it seem like they're not fictional characters at all, but friends you've had for years and years and years. You're so completely inside their heads you take us all along for the ride, and this is a story I know I will revisit again and again.

Heather -

Thanks again, this was super D dooper. I wish you could update more often, but I'm surprised you come up with this wonderful stuff in just a week .... Anyway - before I forget - about you not being able to draw or ... paint .. or be an artist? You're a nut! If you have all of that in your head, you can put it down on a canvas. Sure, you may not be able to perfectly sketch something, but the paintings you describe are in your head. DO IT! Unless of course it takes away the creativity of your writing. I wouldn't want the 800 people who read this story to hunt me down for that one.

As for the update - my favorite little line was "I'm coming bed." I don't know why, it just made me laugh. You have made these two characters so damn adorable ... which is a GREAT thing .... but it's depressing the hell out of me. They better get together soon, ok? I need some sort of outlet for my lack thereof, if you know what I mean. But, the sooner they get together, the sooner this ends and that would suck big monkey balls. So don't do that!
