taraslove Sheesh indeed! One of these days Tara'll figure things out, promise. Thanks for the kind words. Not sure there'll be a kiss, but hopefully a lot of other good stuff that you'll enjoy almost as much.
Foomatic Where'd you go, Foo?

Thanks for the big honkin' 'yay!' - I'll make an ass out of myself and assume that it implied good things.
writerfreak Sorry that you thought the last update was mean, and short. It seemed long to me, though maybe it didn't feel that way because it was all about antici....pation. Cool about looking back for music, hope you enjoy what you find, and yay for Treos. I don't think I could handle three phones, but more power to those who do!
wimpy0792 I feel like every update I say, 'yes, I have returned!' only to disappear again.

Yes to anxiety attacks, and WHEEE! for a date! Please don't faint, but glad you enjoyed that they both know that tonight is not just a little outing out to see a band. As mentioned above Tara will figure this out soonish, promise. I think now more than ever she's willing to go against all that she knows. Hope you enjoy this next bit and thanks again!
Missocki Aren't pre-date jitters the worst? Or the best? Best-worst, worst-best... pretty crazy emotional wave. Awesome about finding a Black Keys song on your computer! Just out of curiosity, which one was it? Hope you enjoy the next update and thanks.
Boschi Boo to crummy moods, but yay to updates making things a little better. You're welcome, and thanks for the kind words.

Hope you like where the story goes from here.
Bunnies Thanks so much for the kind words, and yay for being excited!
Renatecs Ah, I remember the days of compulsive Pens checking - sorry about the wait! Hope you enjoy this next part and thanks!
LittleBit "Updates occur about every 6 months - so maybe around May/June." So funny, and yet so sad.

Spot on observation though. At this pace I'll be graduating children before I finish! (OOF.) Thanks so much for the very kind words - I'm glad the story still resonates, even after all these years. And yes, thank god for board rules. The story creeps along, and it feels reassuring for this author to know that where I'm going is a happy ending. Amen about the hard part of a date often coming in-between the asking and actually going out! Thanks so much.
katjetson Welcome to the thread, and quips are great! Thanks for the 'epic' tag, and glad you like the music. Agreed about seeing stars when they kiss. Thanks so much!
shiraz Thanks so much for the kind words. Glad you like Tara just saying for once, I don't care, this is how I feel. Congrats on those feelings getting you your dream girl. Cool that you think of the date as being transformational - agreed wholeheartedly. Hope you enjoy the next bit and thanks again.
WillowRulez I'm always surprised to see Neverland at the top, even all these years on. Glad you like Tara trying to forget about Xander, and that they've both admitted (at least to themselves) that they're on a date. Funny about you being a phone-addict as well. Thanks so much, and please enjoy the next update.
whatmakesyouhappy Awesome that the update helped cure a bad day from work. Glad you like the direction of the story, and as for Tara figuring things out... stay tuned! To answer your question, they're on Wednesday, and Willow is due to come out to her mom Saturday and Buffy Sunday. Thanks for the kind words.
histchic Thanks so much for the kind words - glad you thought I nailed the pre-date jitters! Glad you also liked Tara letting herself feel, and Willow reasoning her way out of crazy town. Buffy and Anya should stay far out of this date - hopefully you'll enjoy how it unfolds.
db Thanks so much re: the moths and the light - I worried that it would seem too weird, but the image just stuck in my head and I wanted to share. Seemed like the kind of thing a shy artist would notice.

Love the translucent barrier analogy - so true! A miracle you say... well, I don't know if this update, or the date as a whole, will provide a miracle, but it will likely provide a step, if only a small step. Hope you enjoy what does happen, and thanks again.
SylverMaki Sorry, the date just wouldn't fit in one update and I didn't want to rush it. The date will likely span a few updates - I want to enjoy them together, you know, not just rush it to get through it. Hopefully you'll enjoy the result. Everyone's worried about Buffy - Buffy isn't going to be a problem tonight, promise. Hope you enjoy the next bit, and thanks!
TinyWillow Woo! hoo! and aaargh! seems to be proper feedback for just about any update in this story! Thanks so much, please enjoy the next update.
Reallybigpineapple I don't know about Fanfic of Fanfics, but thanks nonetheless! I know what you mean about not being around - glad you popped back in for this update though, always good to see your nick. Thanks re: the example - I love that you've started working on the last few chapters on your story! I so desperately want to finish, it gnaws at me being unfinished, so I'm stoked someone else feels the same way.

Definitely not quitting now! Just updating... really... slowly... Life! What are you gonna do? Awesome about downloading The Black Keys. What do you think? Hope you enjoy the update, and bowing right back at 'cha.
Zampsa1975 Yay for Willow leaving her phone at home, and thanks for the kind words. Enjoy the next bit!
sadie Thanks for the kinds words, and sorry that you thought it was a meanie. I just didn't want to run full-bore into the date without exploring a little bit about how they were feeling. Didn't seem right to me to just rush through this, considering how big of a step it seemed to feel. Hope you enjoy the next few updates, and the date as a whole.
jay/wt4evr Many emoticons - yay for a date indeed. Hope you enjoy the next bit and thanks!
I_love_Danish Thanks, I'm glad that you're as excited as they are. That's pretty cool that you put yourself into their place - I think awesome and terrible is exactly right. Sorry that you thought the update was short. Like I said to someone else it felt long to me when I was writing it! Please enjoy the next part.
Wicca Ness Thanks for the very kind words, and please enjoy the next update.
black-eyed girl Thanks very much - glad you thought the anxiety was palpable. Thanks also re: the bruise. I thought it seemed like a good fit for the timeline and feeling of prepping for a date. Hope you like the next bit.
JustSkipIt Hopefully the date will be more wonderful than horrible, even if the basic premise of not knowing you're on a date leans to the horrible side. Glad that you're curious about that day in the park, hopefully you'll enjoy how that unfurls. Hope you enjoy the next update and thanks so much.
Willow~Rosenberg Yay for dancing around happily. Tara is close to figuring it out - hopefully you'll like how their date goes, and thanks for your kind words.
dorksrcool Thanks so much for the kind words. I think you're right about the 'date' being a turning point. Them opening up to possibilities and being a little more relaxed has to be a good thing. Hope you enjoy this update and the date, and thanks again.
leftindust Thanks so much, please enjoy the next bit.
singgirl Thanks - I'm glad you're excited about the date and hopefully the anticipation pays off. Very cool about growing up in a mountain town. That's how I picture Tara's hometown. Enjoy the next update!
viximon Hmm. Sorry that you thought it was short. Hopefully you enjoy how they continue to deal with their feelings, and that you enjoy the next update.
pipsberg Hi.

Thanks re: the long update. As I said to another poster, it felt long when I wrote it! I'm glad you liked their respective struggles in the last update - it seemed necessary to go through it before heading into the date. Tara is indeed letting her walls down - hopefully the results will be of the good. I think you're one of the few who can't tell that time has passed.

Hope you enjoy the date, and yes, yay for Willow leaving the phone home. Should lead to some good things, no doubt. xoxo
IamLoui Thanks so much, and sorry that each update is mixed with sadness. I'm glad you liked the last update though, and that you thought it was intriguing. I hope you enjoy the next few updates, and thanks again.
The Rose24 Thanks - I hope you enjoy the next few updates, and their 'date' in general.
AmbeRocks Thanks jen. Wow to re-reading the story. Hopefully you enjoyed it, and that you enjoy the next few updates.
Ginner_WTluv Thanks so much, and yay for coming out of the woodwork. I love it when people come out of the woodwork!

I'm glad you're enjoying that in-between state, that loving the journey but frustrated with the pace. That bodes well for me.

I really hope you enjoy the next few updates - I think you'll like the date, given what you wrote. Thanks again Jen.
gorn Very funny that you waited until Christmas. That is some self-control there my friend!

And, as you point out, very brave as this story is not always Santa and newly-giftwrapped Wiis. I'm glad that you felt like the last update was a bit of a reset - I know a lot of people were frustrated that I didn't just rush into the date, but it seemed like things needed to slow down and they each needed to take stock - Tara especially. I mean, she went from moping through the day to heading out on a date, and that is enough to throw anyone for a loop, much less someone who has been guarding her heart for so long. I hear you about Tara's paintings. I think they're going to get done, but you know, she really is cutting it close. And yay for excitement and moths for the date. (Though, not moths on the date, that would be kind of gross.) I hope you really enjoy the next update.
WillowRTaraM1 Thanks for hanging in there and remaining bouncy after three years! I hope you enjoy their date, and that there are at least a few tiny moments for you to enjoy.
hearloomtomatoella Thanks, and welcome to Pens. Hopefully you'll enjoy your time here - there are a lot of really talented writers and great stories to pour through. I'm glad you enjoyed diving into the story, and the music. (I love that so many of my favorite bands are getting new listens.) Please enjoy the update, and thanks again.
masterjendu Never worry about leaving late feedback, because as LittleBit pointed out, until I prove different with my actions, my update breaks be long, yo. Thanks so much re: the deluded fool bit. I hoped to just get a feel for what it's like to prep for a date with someone you love - esp someone you love who doesn't know that you love them. I'm glad you like the rain. You know, it's been a while since I've been caught up in a week-long rainstorm, so it's fun to go there in my imagination. If the rain won't come to me, I'll go to the rain. I hope life is treating you well, as well, and please enjoy the next bit.
nimloth Vi, thanks so much for the wonderfully kind words. I'm really glad that you liked the scene where Tara painted Willow's eyes. That's one of my favorites as well, was very fun to write. Thanks also re: lust being a form of love. Love in my humble opinion is all things; compatibility, lust, affection, etc., so glad you liked. Hope you enjoy the next update.
Wills Aw thanks - glad you decided to post! I'm really glad you like all of the characters, and that you enjoy their journey of becoming friends. Glad you also liked the cooking scene - another fun one to write. Please enjoy the next update, and thanks again for the kind words.
foreverpiper Thank you for the really kind words. Re-reading - wow. I think you're one of the few that want this story to go on forever! I'm really grateful for that, considering my pace.

I really hope you enjoy their date, and thank you again.
EmsInNz Wow to reading in 2 days! That just blows my mind a bit. And awesome about getting sucked into dlline's fic - that's the best thing about Pens; there are so many talented writers and fantastically engrossing stories here... it's easy to get lost. Thanks so much for the very kind words, and please enjoy the next bit.
bluewillowwitch Thanks so much for the kind words, and yay for Willow and Tara being friends. I hope you enjoy the next bit!
Weasel Holy cow to printing this bad boy out! That must have taken an ink cartridge or two! (Or several!) Thanks so much for the kind words - I really appreciate it. Please enjoy the next update!
gismo Welcome to Pens! Hope you've stumble upon other stories that you've jumped into. Don't worry, I'm not going to stop if I can help it. I'm as eager to see how this ends as everyone else here! Sorry that you think Buffy and Tara are unfair, though, to be fair it's only been 3 years. I actually think Buffy has talked to Willow about being in love with Xander, though doesn't take her protestations seriously considering their relationship in their teens. Buffy's been there done that with Willow, and the fact that Xander and Willow are both so secretive about things don't help. Hopefully it'll get worked out soon. Thanks again, and please enjoy the next bit.
DC "Never land" - I see what you did there!

Thanks so much for the kind words. Hopefully you'll enjoy the next bit, as well as where the story goes from here.
player_4_life Update... now.
marlaman22 Thanks so much - please enjoy the next update!
dragonfly Good to see you Clau - and no worries about being late. If you apologize then I have to too!

Thanks so much for the kind words - I'm glad that the story makes you smile. "It's funny how things work out when you less expect them and in ways that surprise you..." that's love! I'm really glad you feel that resonates. I hope your life is going well too, and thanks again. Enjoy the next bit!
Bewitchedyke Thanks so much - hopefully you enjoy the next update!
umm...Willow+Tara=<3 Welcome, hope you're enjoying your time at Pens and that you've discovered some of the really wonderful writers and stories here. I'm really glad that the story touches you - that means a lot. Craziness that you read it in 24 hours - lordy! That's impressive. I don't know if this story qualifies as literature, but I thank you very much for the overwhelmingly kind words. Please enjoy this next bit, and thanks again.
tabula_rasa Thank you very much for the kind words. I think Willow is slowly moving beyond her fear, but she definitely has her idea of what it means to be honest, and what it means for her to be gay. For her, that means being open and honest with her friends and families before she defines herself as part of a relationship. And as for Buffy, I think Willow is worried about how Buffy will feel about her being gay because it's not just about being gay. Willow is worried that it'll change how Buffy treats her, based on some of the things Buffy has said, and because it'll change their dynamic. I think it's valid. Coming out is scary, scary stuff. I hope you enjoy the next update.
