Hey... you updated

The slow pace, and circling around each other is wonderful. When they finally reach a new level in their relationship.... all of us will be so invested in the outcome. I like the fact that you aren't rushing with the togetherness that we all love, the pay-off is so much sweeter with anticipation :flirt . The way I can envision even the minute details of the characters and their surroundings... tells me just how good you really are. The biggest compliment I can pay you, is to say...

I feel it all :bow .

Argh, lol. Everything was soooo great, a lovely date, lots of fun and total bliss....until this one word got mentioned. That word called Xander. :gnome

Sigh. I was all "oh no you two, please not again".

Just for once i don't wanna hear Xander or Buffy. Pleeease!

I felt so bad for Tara. But a big yay for her for still inviting Willow to Morgan's party.

Awesome update! :)

Oh.My.God! ohmygod.....ohmygod...ohmygod.....you are driving me crazy woman!! Although, i do have to admit, a part of me enjoys it......a lot! The whole misunderstandings and little innocent touches builds up soooo much tension i think i might friggin explode.......not pretty, and then i wouldn't be able to finish your fic and ohmygod Xander! He's not even in this chapter and i want to cause him physical pain .........and usually i really like Xander, he's a cool bloke. You see what your writing does to me cruel lady, sends me flippin bonkers!!

Aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww.... really cute update... I love it!!!

It started out really really good...

Quote:
Here she was, sitting across from Willow in a restaurant laughing. And it felt wonderful. Right. She was floating on air and couldn't imagine a time where she had felt more... more... just, more, everything. Happy and alive, satisfied and in love.

I just hope Tara would not just be in love... It would be really really great to finally come to the that point where she would also feel loved... *smiles*;)

But the rollercoaster ride your putting all us readers in is just as beautiful... I mean, it may be a slow angsty road to coming together ... not to mention, finally witnessing the willow/tara action we all are waiting for... but, it would be worth everything...

And I bet it would definitely be worth EVERYTHING to see the reaction on Tara's face when she realizes that it's she, and not Xander, that Willow loves all along...

Again...:bow :bow :bow ... I love this fic... Keep updating...

*waits for the Party update*

Oh! And by the way! I also want desperately to see Willow's reaction when she becomes knowledgeable of the fact that the party she's going to is actually Morgan's party... Hmmmm...

Aha! Willow DID make with the touchies!! And theeeeen she started talking about Xander.. :sigh Seriously, something needs to happen to let Tara know AT LEAST that Willow isn't interested in him.. maybe Buffy could talk to Will about him and realize she doesn't like him, and then Buffy relays that to Tara... or Xander and Tara could for some god-knows-why reason talk... gah I don't know. I just hate seein Tara like that.. :aww

And Tara needs to not be thinking of getting to know Morgan more.. She and Willow should just have a nice evening together at this party. Obviously, nothing is going to HAPPEN happen between them, but it would be nice if they could just have a good time together. :)

And the whole Willow looking for a condo thing.... no ma'am :no that needs to not be an option.. Hopefully they can make some sort of progress in the friendship/future relationship area before it gets to the point where Willow finds somewhere to move to..

Anywho I really can't wait to read more, seriously.. like.. this story is just like the icing to my day whenever its updated. Usually I catch it before work so it puts me in a good mood (no matter what happens, its the fact of the matter) which is always good because going to work in a bad mood is just.. ugh.. never fun. Wow.. how the hell did I get talkin about work in feedback for a story? Good God I've gone mad..

Please just update soon?

Again with the frustration. Its like you get pleasure out of it lol. Either Willow or Tara just need to "slip" and say something to reveal their true feelings. That way they can just get it done and over with. Maybe Willow will do it at the Red Party... oo that would be nice lol...;)

ahhh man!

i mean, this story is just so good, i don't even mind the angst, it's just, the time between the updates i can't bear with!!

anyway, still catching it late at night, and i got to say thank you, cause this has been a crappy day... so a wonderful way to end it.

I can't believe willow still hasn't get the whole me-talking-about-xander=heartbroken-tara, it's been a couple of times now, and she planed on touching her and everything, but she can't even see this!!! arrrg!!

and gosh, i have never been more brokenhearted myself by reading something than i am now while i read tara's reaction to all of this.... poor girl

anyway, great update as always, please update soon, i'm in my reading week !! (as in i can read more updates!!!:) )

Postby starcat73 » Sun Oct 24, 2004 7:20 am

This chapter was heartbeaking for both Tara and ME. :cry

I thought once Tara had said "you love him", Willow would clear it up about them being only friends. But being the evil (but great :D ) writer you are, Willow had to miss that one too. These two would make horrible seekers. They can's see a thing even when it's right there in front of them. :geek

Even with the whole Xander thing, the dinner was great. Willow was so cute with the story and the doubt about telling that story. The flirting was :banana . need i say more. The Willow touching was excellent. :clap I hope she will piece together why Tara's mood changed before she went to the bathroom. But knowing Willow, she will probably think it was because of the phone call during dinner. ( I think I am learning how you think :devilish )

The Red Party so far is looking very very very very very very BAD for Willow. There is nothing going for her in this situation. Pleeeeese have mercy on Willow. :pray

This update was Awesome. You know you're great. I don't have to tell you. Your story really makes my day. Can't wait to see what happens at the party. This is probably the most feedback I've ever written.

Oh. My. God. You are brilliant! Evil, but brilliant. How do you come up with all of these plot twists? Do you have it all planned out ahead of time or just write as the situation arises?

I'm joining the line of people wanting to throttle Xander for just existing in name in this section.

Loved the flirting part. Really well done. Kinda reminded me a bit of the flirting in Entropy at the coffee shop.

Willow and Tara are both clueless. Argh! Willow just needs to shut up about Xander already. The ambiguous way that you left her comments opens the door for more despair for Tara. Willow needs to tell Tara. Who's going to get to that point first, I wonder?

Willow is definitely going to be blind-sided by this party. She doesn't know that it's at Morgan's place or that Morgan was definitely flirting with Tara. Should be interesting. Also, it was cute how you had Will offer Tara her jacket. Nice touch.

Once again, I am anxiously awaiting your next update. Should I assume a crash position for the party??

It wasn't as if the redhead was incapable of the small touches; after all, Tara had watched the girl walk arm-in-arm with Buffy enough, just Willow wasn't affectionate like that with her. Not since...

Not since WHAT dammit!!!???!! This update just really twisted my guts. One minute everything is hunky-dory tra-la-la and the next minute it's cold skin and glass for dinner. I just ache for Tara. If there is one person in the world who deserves some hapiness right now, it's her. Can you believe I actually have some hope for this party? A jealous Willow would be better than this gut-wrenching Tara-torture. Something! Anything!! My biggest hope from this update though is that Willow will keep with the touching. Yes, it alternately confuses and upsets Tara, but it's the right step. It's an initiative Willow needs to take. I can't believe you threw the moving out thing in again. Dammit, I thought we'd escaped that. :lol I'm anxious to see Tara work too. I can't help but wonder what this rollercoaster is doing to her art. I wonder if it would clue Willow in a little bit as well. I'm wondering if Tara is even able to paint with her "public" mindset or can only let it all go on the canvas like she has with everything hanging in their home. Curiouser and curiouser. I can't wait for more.

Hmm... I noticed that Willow doesn't know the party is at Morgan's place nor that Morgan is there. For some reason I foresee a problem there :)

I loved Willow telling Tara lots of things about herself. It also showed how little Tara seems to know about Willow, she didn't expect Willow to be lonely outside of work ?? Willow seems to think being a 'nerd' is a negative thing, while it merely describes someone who likes technical thingies... which she does :) Her enthousiasm is fun and shouldn't be curbed due to outside influence. Wasn't fun to see Willow talk herself down like that, good thing Tara agrees on that. I almost expected Tara to hold Willow's hand when telling her she's not as weird/odd as she sees herself.

Then ofcourse it had to be broken up, can't have to much angst-free stuff I guess. Awfully ambigious language English... 'you love him'... bwah.

I did enjoy Willow being all worried over food-poisoining and jumping to conclusions. So cute and (over)caring.

Tara is trying to use Morgan as some sort of Willow-shield, lets see how long that lasts when they keeping having dinner together like this. Should be weird at the party, two people wanting Tara's attention... I doubt she's used to that.

Now what will Willow wear to said party... :P

Re: Neverland - Part 25

The first thing that stood out in this part for me was when we got to see Tara observing Willow's quirks:

Quote:
She had a habit of rotating each hand at the wrist, fingers splayed and curled slightly as she described the details of her tale; it was a uniquely Willow movement, and Tara smiled each time the redhead did it.

And again:

Quote:
Tara giggled as Willow made a hilarious, faux-shocked expression from across the table, and then sighed as the girl continued with her storytelling, the blonde completely enraptured. Amazing...

And then again some more:

Quote:
Tara chuckled as Willow flapped her hands in front of her face, and the blonde thanked the stars that she was allowed to sit across from this gorgeous creature and stare at her. Stare at the girl's sparkling green eyes, framed by freckled, pale skin and fiery red hair. How she was allowed to notice the way the girl's cheeks would curve as her lips curled up in a mischievous smile. The thin top lip matched with a fuller bottom, her teeth exposed. The tongue that darted forward and pushed against the teeth as she finished her story gleefully, waiting with a beaming smile for Tara's reaction. If I died right now, Tara thought, I'd die happy.

But eh, now I'm just rehashing the entire story :P !

It felt as if I was right there with her, not really paying enough attention to *what* Willow was saying, instead just staring and staring and staring and... ahem, you get the picture.

Argh, on one hand I can't stand all this miscommunication (they really need a class in "how-to-interpret-body-language"), on the other hand I'm kinda enjoying it too, (yeah I must be crazy...) means that this story is looong from over :laugh

And oh Tara, Tara, when a girl offers you her jacket because you're cold, THAT'S A DEFINITE SIGN SHE LIKES YOU! I mean, it is, right? :eyebrow Or have I been out of the romantic-gestures loop? Sigh, okay I'm rambling...

Oh and I just loved the "cool"-replies at the end, I just love to say the word cool... hehe, cool!

Tha party, that party, tha party, can't hardly wait...! So, much fun to be had with the upcoming part :D , are we going to see jealous Willow? And Tara being torn apart in two directions, though we all know which side she should lean on...? Ah, I guess we'll see. I trust ye, oh great writer of Neverland!

Oh boy is right. I don't know if I've just gushed in awhile, so here goes: you write so fucking well, Heather, that I find myself joining in every emotional twist and turn as I'm reading--every smile, laugh, cringe, heart palptation--it's almost brutal, but it's soooo good (maybe I'm just a masochist). I do kind of wish you'd shown Willow's POV of the touches as well--she must have been absolutely frantic...I envisioned this type of thing: "lift arm, extend fingers, approach lower back--NOT TOO LOW!...ok...contact made...pressure regulated...remove hand...now." And Tara repeatedly recalling the park as the last time Willow had touched her makes me wonder if it was more than just a comforting hug, or if it was simply the first time she recognized she was in love with Willow.
Quote:
She's driving me nuts...
Hmm...I'm pretty sure that's what everyone's thinking after every update, but it ain't about Tara or Willow!:wink Tara's noticed Willow's bipolar mood swings enough, I guess now that they're spending more time together, it's gonna be a mutual problem. And I like that Willow at least tried to figure out when Tara's mood changed--I know you said the Xander thing will be going on a bit longer, but at least she's conscious that something upset her. And finally, I have to admit that I don't always read through everyone else's feedback and your responses, and I wish I hadn't this time. You're REALLY laying on the impending angst at the party...now my stomach's all acidy. Please send Tums soon!

Hey Heather,

Thanks for the thoughts about my boy. Yes, he is a giggler and the world's biggest flirt. He's started this thing where if we're out and he wants attention from someone who isn't looking (like a stranger at another table) he yells "aagghh!" until they turn toward him. Then he smiles at them. Very charming.

Ok, first I'll start with my writing complement for this round: I love the relationship between last update where Willow was planning her subtle touches and this update where Tara is obsessively cataloging and reacting to each. How wonderful. I can imagine them lying in bed some day (or hundreds of days) saying, "remember at the Thai restaurant? All I wanted was to hold your hand across the table and never let go..."

Poor Tara and now it's starting to get very frustrating. I mean Tara says "you love him" and Willow replies that yes and she wants more but doesn't say maybe Xander will meet a nice woman in SF if he moves? Nothing detailed... Bummer.

I completely get Willow's dorkiness and confession of same and can relate. I'm starting to work with a new data storage language which has no interface. There are only two people in our office who have the interface for the program. So I spent an hour writing an interface so I can do what I want without having to ask them. Much easier.

The party: That's got to be the single worst idea I've ever heard of! I mean, really! Ok, not the worst: I mean we did invade Iraq... But a pretty darn bad idea nonetheless. I mean what does Tara see as the positive outcome? Best case scenario: Tara babysits Willow all night and completely alienates Morgan. Worst case: disaster! For real.

Ok, I'm going now. Asher decided he's not tired and doesn't need to sleep.

Okay, so you didn't plan the M/W thing, that just means you're a natural :bow

it's appropriate that smiley is going up and down like that as he bows, because that's what this story does - my mood goes up and down like an emotional yoyo. One moment it's all good, the next disaster strikes, then reprieve, catastrophe... theme parks would pay big money for a rollercoaster like this :)

While it was encouraging to see Tara so enraptured listening to Willow, I worry that - until the whole gay thing is cleared up - the more she falls for Willow, the more the sensible part of her will try to get her to back off. It all comes down to the fact that, so far as she knows, Willow will never reciprocate her love the way she wants - so from that point of view, being more captivated by Willow is more reason to pull away from her. Poor Tara :cry

And again the Xander issue... a faux pas by Willow there, but how could she know? It's only recently, after all, that we saw her considering that Tara sees her as straight, and contemplating how that might be affecting Tara's behaviour towards her. I don't think Willow can really be faulted too much for not having retroactively reassessed everything Tara knows about her - her mind's already in a muddle. Still, it's frustrating to see her and Tara so certain they know what the other is thinking, yet so wrong. Especially Willow's joy that Tara understood her friendship with Xander, because Tara really is the kind of person who would understand it - if only she knew what it really was.

Still, it was touching to see Tara leaping to Willow's defence, when she started getting down on herself for being a nerd. Motion-Activated Rat-Cam :lmao That's so adorable - and a little melancholy, that Willow thinks of something that adorable as a flaw in herself.

And the housing issue is back - raised from an unexpected quarter, from Willow herself. Didn't see that coming! But I expect she didn't mean to suggest that she's bailing out on Tara, more simply making conversation, and as she said basically going house-hunting to indulge her friends... now, if only that'll stay Tara's resolve to raise the issue of Willow moving out long enough for Willow to come out, and Tara won't have to worry about wasting her life pining after Willow, and thus be trying to pull away from Willow... there you are again, 'if only'. This story really is all about 'if only', if only they knew what the other was thinking, if only the misconceptions were cleared up, if only things were in the open...

Now, on to worrying about what might happen at the party - whether any progress will be made, how much disaster can be packed into one evening... whether there's time for anything else to go wrong before then... :) I'm looking forward to it, with a kind of masochistic glee, and holding on to the prospect of everything turning out okay in the end the way little kids hold onto their safety blankets :)

I take it back

Postby Idgie » Mon Oct 25, 2004 8:44 am

I take back my previous thought about Xander coming to visit, especially if certain things will be wrapped up once Buffy gets back. I love angst, but I think I'd have a meltdown if Xander showed up in person and created even more misunderstandings. Poor confused Tara. And poor clueless Willow.

Great update - I'm looking forward to the party. Hopefully Willow will stick with her plan of coming out to Buffy and then to Tara and won't get discouraged if Tara is tempted to think about moving on with Morgan. Or maybe her jealousy will speed up the process.
