I gotta get on some new medication cuz the stuff I'm taking isn't keeping me from having my little mood swings. Wow Kris, I feel like I have been holding my breath this entire update! The tension was so palpable when Tara was trying to figure out where she was, and after "connecting the dots" with the realization she was in a mausolem, I so felt for her. Really this part captured the angst of the situation so well, and I was as terrifyied (and chilled) as Tara was "waiting for the next shoe to drop".



Madrine scares me, and you have captured what makes her a "villian" so well with her gruesome encounter with the scorpion man (and I really could feel Tara's reaction to the realization that it was his blood that hit her). Poor Tara's situation going from bad to worse with Madrine saying ("You will take her place."), but Tara being resolute in her determination that it will never happen (ie in Tara's mind this is the "monster" who killed her Willow). Loved the build-up of tension with Madrine sharing the details about the "Living Death" (ie Willow isn't dead/could be saved), and then having to make the "choice" with not only being with Madrine "forever", but to prove this intention by delivering the blow to Cassandra (shudder).



Lastly, I really felt Tara's pain/torment when the "final blow" was struck with Madrine happily informing Tara about the effects of the "Living Death" (ie Willow is fine/her thinking "What... What have I done...?"). With this in mind, physically (with the pain), as well as emotionally, Tara is in a very bad place, and with the story being so riveting I look forward to seeing Tara overcome her obstacles (although I have a feeling Tara will have to endure some more hardships first) in order to reunite with Willow.

Madrine, I hate to say, is a joy to write. I don’t have to play around. She’s evil. A monster. And I can write her that way.



The Living Death and Cassandra the Greek Myth, well, not so much with the joy. Lots of reading and research, and the whole trying to get some things right. I also hesitated having Tara ‘finish it,’ cause I thought people would think it was too much, or too horrible for Tara to do/go through. I’m still on the fence about it, even now. . . .



I think it’s safe to assume that you are right when you say Tara’s not done with the obstacles, and that she’s going to have to endure much, much more before a reunion. But, she might not be the only one. . . . Thanks for staying with the story!
