Every first wednesdays of the month, sirens ring in the whole town, the ones from the war to warn againt an attack? bombardments and such. At my grandfather's, it is every day at midday.
I have always associated this sound with my grandmother, and now it always comfort me. Especially since it is just remembrance and checking it works. Of course if I had lived through a war, I wouldn't love that sound.
But I do love that sound.
