I've watched very little anime, unfortunately. However, after watching the documentary "White Light, Black Rain" I rented "Barefoot Gen 1 & 2". I loved them both...tragically gorgeous anime about the aftermath of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. (Sorry if it has already been discussed.)

A Few Degrees Off-Center...Where Free Thought Still Exists!

I was just wondering what everyone thought of Aoi Hana. I thought it was overall decent, but slow in parts, but still nice to see more yuri out there.

It's extremely pleasant yuri anime that, interestingly enough, follows fairly close to the manga. The manga is still ongoing and I hear there is some speculation about whether or not there will be a 2nd season. Sasameki Koto is another nice slice-of-life-ish yuri anime (also in manga form) that is currently being streamed by Crunchyroll. I have to say, I'm really biased about that one because I adore the manga far more than I do the anime. The jokes and gags from the manga just don't seem to translate well to anime form.

Did someone watch or read Nana? =D

I've tried to read some of the manga but there was too much drama (and too many love triangles) for me to deal with. It's extremely popular in Japan, having spawned at least two live-action movies and one live-action TV series, last I checked. There are approximately 47 anime episodes and (soon to be) 21 manga volumes translated into English by SHOUJO BEAT.

Anyone seen Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann? I have to say, it's probably my favorite series of all time. The characters, outfits, plot, and sheer badass-ery of the series is just beyond words. In fact, I'm on a mission to cosplay most characters from the series.

Does anyone else here cosplay?
