Notes: This is an original story. I got the idea and I HAD to write it. Hope you all enjoy.
If anyone has any songs or poems that they’d like to give me to use, I’d be really thankful (and you’d get credit, don’t worry.) Thanks.

Summary: Two lonely souls are united, one from the wrong side of town, the other, a superstar with a dark secret.

Michelle groaned, picking up the bill. Seeing the many zeroes, she sighed. This wasn’t her day. Then again, most days weren’t her day. She’d had to skip class again to bail her cousin out of trouble. Again. David was a pain; there was no other way to describe him. Unfortunately, he was…maybe not her best friend, but he was close enough.
She slunk onto her bed. The bills were pilling up; if it went on, there’d be no way she could keep the apartment.
If David helped things would be easier, but…he couldn’t keep a job for anything. He took one look at a cute boy and lost interest in everything else. Of course, she could claim the same thing when she saw a pretty girl, but…well…she just had better control.
Her hand reached out and grabbed one of the books lying on her dresser: The Last Unicorn. The blonde smiled; she loved that book. Then again, she loved almost all books.
Grinning, she opened the worn novel.

“I’m back!” The dark haired man shuffled in through the door. “Man, this place is a mess! It seems even smaller than usual!”
Michelle scowled at him. “That’s ‘cause you can’t clean up after yourself. And why the hell were you picking fights?”
“Hey! That guy was insulting my honor!”
“What honor!” She yelled, “You have no honor! You’re an eighteen year old gay boy who’s still a senior in high school! And, oh yeah! I’m stuck babysitting you!!!” She slammed her door shut.
“C’mon Chelle!” he whined, “You don’t mean that!”
The door remained shut tight.

When she came out, it was late, though that didn’t bother her. She was a night person.
She scowled when she saw David, sprawled out on his pull-out bed, flipping TV channels.
He looked up at her with big chocolate eyes. “Are you still mad?” She pouted. “Pleeeaaassseeee forgive me?”
Michelle sighed, she couldn’t stay mad at him, he was just too sweet.
A toon started playing on the radio and he perked up. “I love this song!” He grinned.
A hundred days have made me older, since the last time that I saw your pretty face
A thousand lies have made me colder and I don’t think I can look at this the same
But all the miles that separate
They disappear now when I’m dreaming of your face
Come to think of it, this isn’t that bad, she thought.
I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams
And tonight, there’s only you and me
It sounded vaguely familiar. It was probably one of those dumb teenyboppergirl singers.
The miles just keep rolling as the people leave their way to say hello
I've heard this life is overrated but I hope that this gets better as we go
I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams
And tonight girl, there’s only you and me
Nice though.
Everything I know, and anywhere I go
it gets hard but it won’t take away my love
And when the last one falls, when it’s all said and done
it gets hard but it won’t take away my love
I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams
And tonight girl, there’s only you and me
I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams
but tonight girl, there’s only you and me
The song ended.
Michelle looked over at David. “Who was that?”
“You’re talking to me?!” He grinned. “Yes!” She eyed him. “Oh, yeah…heh…Azure, that’s what she calls herself.”
“She named herself after a color?” She stared at him. These singers just get weirder and weirder.
“Well,” he began, “She is blue.”
“Huh?”
“She dyed her hair blue. And she paints her skin blue. Hence the name.”
Yep, definitely getting weirder.
David smirked. “You know, you’d probably find her pretty cute. I mean, you do like the weird ones.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Oh, nothing.”

She gently put her book onto the dresser. Staring at her clock, she sighed. Please let tomorrow be better. Don’t let David fight again. Let me get a raise. Her eyes found the picture on the nightstand. In it were her and her parents. Please let them forgive me.
