I haven't done this in a long time, but hey, poetry is the cheapest form of therapy, right? I have no idea how often I'll update this thread, but I needed to get this out. Thanks for reading.

I'll kill you in my heart
Before the day arrives,
Turn my face away,
Think of mundane matters:
"Shall I take my umbrella?"
"Is there gas in the car?"
Begin the necessary process
Of purging memories of you
So that on the day
I can sleep in grateful peace,
Pretend it was natural,
Not me playing God.
A workable plan,
Were it not for the fact
That all of the above
Is a lie.[/center]

I have to admit that I enjoy reading different aspects of people's writing (yes, I'm a lurker on all of your fanfic...sigh).

Very intense poem. You're observation of focusing on the mundane that one can easily control when internally one can barely control the anger...and the desire to purge a person from one's memory/heart is powerful.

Rose, Teddy, SJ, and Evy...thanks for the feedback! It's made me feel so much better about posting, so I'm going to throw out one of the few older pieces I have that don't make me groan with embarassment.

Darling, skip the overture,
And get right to the song.
I’m tired of all these violins,
I want to sing along.

Instrumental’s beautiful,
You play a lovely tune.
But I’m afraid if you delay
I’ll tire of it soon.

Your opera’s a masterpiece,
The aria’s inspired.
So do not wait, cut to the chase—
Crescendos are required.

You are a virtuoso, dear.
Please don’t take this wrong.
But I need words, get to the verse.

Ooh, first one. (for this post, anyway). Another great poem, Cam. I enjoyed the rhyme scheme and the personal aspect of the stanzas.

I sensed impatience behind this piece. I enjoy poetry that uses music as a metaphor.

Crescendos are required.

This line is funny. Um, preference for things to be loud?

I adore the tone in the second one. Maybe cuz I'm a sucker for music-related things but yeah, the crescendo. Got me, hooked me, I'm dinner. It was, in a word, yum.

Great Poems! I liked the second one the best out of the two you've posted so far. It just fits well together. The theme of music is very good too. The last line feels powerful to me...Either that or its because I'm really hungry right now. Heh anyway, its really good.

Very beautifully written, Cam. Powerful words. There's a lot of difference between the first and second poems... the second seemed a bit playful, if impatient - though that sort of rhyme scheme always makes me think that lol. The first was, perhaps, a bit on the angsty side... and you know me. I'm addicted to the stuff.

Angst needs a street name. We could call it 'A' or 'tear' or something. I need a fix!
