Indelible Stain - Drabble

Postby Kieli » Thu Oct 19, 2006 11:48 am

Tiny rivers flow past my face, stubbled and weary.
The grey of the sky seeps into the pores of the living
going deep...down...down into the cracks.
My attention wanders to the grime on the street signs,
the washed out watercolours of this living art
through the glass.
It seems its not enough for the clouds to vent their
anguish, one drop at a time. I feel that the dark
the wet
it keeps filling up my chest to the point where
I feel I could drown in that neverending whole.
Where does it stop?
Where do I begin?
I shrug for no answer comes from the reds and
the golds floating all around, whirling and dancing
dementedly.
The light turns red, I shift into gear.
Life passes on its indelible stain.

Hey there. Nice.
Vivid image of traffic lights seen through a rain covered windshield,
and definitely that sensation of isolation - of this inaccessible chaos that is somehow removed from you, but still surrounding you (and drowning you obliviously). Tends to be easy in cars in the rain.

Makes me think of the smell of my car in damp weather. (Which sounds gross, but just sort of is.)

Hope you keep shifting gears.

Oddly I already felt like I was drowning long before the rain hit. It just made my mood that much darker.

Actually I was thinking of my car in much the same manner. Sort of like a cross between smelly feet and wet dog. Bleh.

Hope you keep shifting gears.

You too, my friend. I miss your writing. When are you going to come back to the Dark Side?

Ah, the Dark Side. Sounds so evil and snuggly. Sigh... I wonder what my muse is doing rght now. Nothing good I imagine... that's my girl, though.

I've some lovely things in my life right now, but some big scaries too. So I'm juggling and holding my breath, hoping not to drop anything.

Eventually I expect to either turn blue and keel over, or maybe gain some control and put some things down gently for a while.

I tried writing a bit last night actually, but couldn't hold the tidal wave of other pressing "Things To DO" back that long.

I'm trying though, allright? :peace

... keep shifting gears ... keep shifting gears ... keep shifting gears.

I'll get there eventually.

Oh I'd imagine your muse is being as wicked and wanton as mine is right now *sigh* Sadly, none of it actually helps ME any.

The trick is to keep breathing, my dear. The trick is to keep breathing.
