Grimlock72, thanks for the advice. I’ve limited the amount of information in my summaries because the last one did give a lot away; I didn’t realize it back then.

Good2cats…thank you so much and I’m glad you like Christmas Carols as well.

continuing:

"Okay!" Jarred squealed happily, clapping his hands once. "Willow, Tara...Tara, Willow." he quickly said. "We'll leave you girls alone." he added as an afterthought, pulling Xander by his arm and dragging them away. Xander didn't complain, he wanted Willow to be happy.

Willow and Tara were alone now, the two of them completely entrapped by each other's eyes, staring intently into deep depths, looking into their souls. They stared at each other for a long moment, not saying anything.

Utterly quiet.

"I..." Willow managed to get out before shutting her mouth once more. "My...I'm..." she stumbled again, inwardly cursing herself as her words caught in her throat.

Tara's mouth slowly parted, trying to get out the much needed words. But such like Willow, it caught in her throat as well. Tara swallowed once as her gaze brought her down to stare lovingly at Willow's lips, wanting to kiss them. Unable to control herself.

As Willow tried to get herself to speak, her mouth opening just once, Tara suddenly brought her lips to Willow's, tenderly kissing the redhead. Willow was initially shocked, her body shivering in anticipation and desire, she calmed considerably and passionately kiss Tara back. Their lips pressed together affectionately.

They continued to kiss, completely engrossed in it. They felt as if they have known each other forever.

Jarred watched on with a beaming smile, he turned to his left and caught Xander's eye. Xander smiled back and nodded, patting each other's back in triumph.

Willow and Tara continued their never-ending kiss; their lips were pressed together tenderly as their passionate embrace sustained, seemingly endless. Their hearts were screaming with passion, pounding loudly and vigorously in their chest, their souls grasping for each other at its initial contact, wanting more, never wanting to let go.

They firmly held on to the other, relishing in the feel of its souls first meeting. They were soul mates and their souls had mated at that first kiss and that first passionate embrace.

Tara kissed Willow feverishly, her enthusiasm and eagerness getting the best of her. Her brain was telling her to stop but her heart was telling her to keep on, to prolong the kiss. Willow grabbed onto Tara, her slender fingers pressing against the blonde’s back in a death grip, pulling her more closely, kissing her again and again.

And again and again and again one more time.

They just couldn’t stop.

Their souls hadn’t allowed them to.

As they pulled back, a long time later, their eyes met once again. Tara’s azure orbs locked into Willow’s emerald green and at that moment…at that very moment… they saw into each other’s souls.

Tara felt Willow’s soul, the whole embodiment of her very spirit, the core of the redhead’s very essence. She saw it in her eyes, she saw deep into the other girl’s consciousness; she saw it all.

Willow, feeling it too, brought her hand into Tara’s. Their hands were palm to palm and their fingers were pressed together tenderly. The two girls gazed down at their hands, interlocking them gently, squeezing softly. As they held on to each other, they felt a surge of sensation flow through their bodies, enveloping inside their bloodstream, causing them to shiver.

Their eyes were locked, never letting go.

They had found each other.

A needle in a haystack.

“Hi.” Tara managed to articulate, her voice gentle and soothing. She gave the redhead a stunning half smile, calming Willow’s heart and soul at that one simple gesture, warming her body in an instant.

Willow laughed in happiness, her face flushed. “Hi.” She uttered, breathless. “My name is Willow.” She added shyly.

“Tara.” The blonde greeted tenderly, her smile warming Willow’s soul once more.

“That’s a beautiful name.” Willow said softly, her eyes never leaving Tara’s deep depths.

“Your name is even more beautiful.” Tara whispered, bringing their interlocked hands towards her lips, kissing it lovingly and tenderly. “I don’t usually do this, you know.” The blonde amended softly, gazing into Willow’s emerald orbs. “I don’t know what got over me.” She shook her head lightly from side to side, glancing down at the floor in embarrassment.

“Tara…” Willow voiced softly, her heart breaking at seeing the blonde look down, breaking their eye contact. Willow tenderly brought her hands to cup Tara’s chin, gently lifting Tara’s head to meet her loving gaze, comforting Tara’s aching heart. “You don’t know how much I wanted to do the same.” She admitted softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

“Really?” Tara asked in a tiny voice, her heart hoping, her soul soaring.

“My heart to your heart.” Willow brought her hand to rest on Tara’s chest, over the blonde’s pounding heart. “Tell me you felt it.”

“I did.” Tara nodded, the redhead’s hand still in her chest. Tara placed her own hand on top of the hand on her heart. “I don’t know what it means.” She voiced quietly.

Willow brought her lips to Tara’s once again, kissing her quickly but just as passionately. “Did you feel that?” the redhead inquired as she pulled away.

Tara let out a breath, her heart and soul racing in delight. “Every second.” She uttered out, her cobalt eyes luminous. “My heart to your heart.” She mimicked Willow’s words, understanding the connotation. “Every single second.”

“A psychic told me that I’d meet you.” Willow conversed softly, her eyes soft, their hands palm to palm in the hair.

“I never believed in them.” Tara admitted, , shaking her head.

“Neither did I.” Willow nodded gently. “But she…she described someone exactly like you.” She looked down briefly before lifting her head again and catching Tara’s sapphire eyes. “I believe her now.”

“What about us?” Tara asked, her voice low and gentle, their hands still interlocked. “Do you believe in us?”

“It’s about the one thing I do believe in.” Willow kissed Tara’s fingertips.

Xander and Jarred watched from a distance, completely mesmerized at watching the two girls interact. Jarred was quite pleased of himself, and Xander looked like a proud parent watching his daughter walk for the first time. Xander had his hand on Jarred’s shoulder, beaming brightly at seeing his best friend exceedingly joyful.

The girls were meant for each other, even by a distance…that was blatantly clear.

“So, are you gay too?” Jarred asked Xander, his gaze never lifting from Willow and Tara.

“No.” Xander replied, still staring at the two girls, utterly captivated. “But I’m wishing that I were.” He stated absentmindedly, not registering that he had said that.

A beat.

Jarred lifted his eyebrows in question, turning his head to Xander.

“No.” Xander voiced, his eyes still locked at the two girls. “I’m not gay…no gayness anywhere near here…nope, not at all…all with the straightness here…not that there’s anything wrong with that.” He added hurriedly, his attention still ahead of him.

“I’ll take you’re word for it.” Jarred chuckled, going back to watching the newly acquainted love birds.

“We just met.” Tara pointed out, her hands still entwined into Willow’s. “How can…how can we feel…”

“I know.” Willow slowly nodded, putting a gently finger onto Tara’s lips, hushing anymore words. “I don’t understand it either.” She confessed quietly. “But I know whatever it is…whatever this is…it doesn’t feel wrong.” She stated softly, squeezing Tara’s hand.

“Not at all.” Tara agreed, their hands still fiddling together, their fingers playing with each other, their palms warm to the touch. “How can something that feels this right be wrong?”

“Tara…”

“Will….”

Willow raised her head. “What’s going on in here?” she softly inquired, gently tapping a tender finger on Tara’s temple.

“I’m scared.” Tara confessed. “I’m scared that this is all a dream…”

“It’s not a dream.” Willow shook her head. “I know what I feel in here.” She brought their joined hands, the hands that were on top of Tara’s chest, and transferred them to her own, gently placing them near her beating heart. “That’s all real.”

Tara’s smile radiated, beaming brightly in happiness, her heart was singing.

“We managed to get our voices back.” Willow acknowledged in a chuckle. “So, that’s a plus.” She smiled.

“You have the most beautiful voice.” Tara stated softly, bringing her index finger tenderly to the redhead’s rosy lips briefly before pulling back. “Soft.”

Willow blushed, looking down at her feet.

“Where do we go from here?” Tara tried to catch Willow’s eyes, when she did she was seemingly captivated by emerald depths, always fascinated.

Tara couldn’t believe the sensations that were flowing through her, the thoughts that were racing in her head, the fast and rhythmic beat in her chest that threatened to consume her. All she felt was a tremendous amount of love in her heart and soul for this redhead, never wanting to let go. She needed to go forward, in her life and everything in between.

“Forward.” Willow stated matter of factly, reading Tara’s mind. She couldn’t believe the sensations that were flowing through her, the feelings that were racing in her head, the fast and rhythmic beat in her chest that threatened to consume her. All she felt was a marvelous amount of love in her heart and soul for this blonde, never wanting to let go. She wanted to go forward, in her life and everything in between.

“Forward.” Tara nodded, smiling. “I like that idea.”

“I thought you would.” Willow smiled back, her eyes sparkling luminously under the bright lights above, the incandescent and radiant sun beaming dazzling rays of sunshine down both girls’ faces, Tara’s eyes were bluer in the sunshine, deeper and more eye-catching as it shined under the gleaming sunlight.

Willow kissed Tara once more.

“Should we go to them?” Jarred turned to Xander. “I feel like we should go to them..I can't help myself."

Xander caught Jarred’s gaze. "We wouldn't want to interfere on a tender moment." he cautioned. "But I know what you mean...I just want to go there and hug Willow." his eyes still glued to the two girls, watching then kiss each other tenderly.

"We really should." Jarred persisted. "I mean, I did kinda push them together....I should be able to go there."

"Right." Xander nodded, he turned to the boy next to him and gave him a questioning glance. "What's your name by the way?"

"Jarred." he responded, smiling.

"Xander." the other boy replied, holding out a hand in greeting, Jarred took Xander's hand into his own and shook it before turning his gaze back to Willow and Tara, silently watching.

"I say we go there." Xander said after a long moment.

"I agree." Jarred nodded his head, he looked back to the two girls and saw that they were still kissing, their lips never tiring of each other, their embraces never faltering. Tara's hands were tightly gripping Willow's back, pulling her body towards her even more closely. Willow's hands were buried inside Tara's long blonde hair, their faces pushed together tenderly.

"Maybe after they're done." Xander suggested after a while, still gazing at the two girls from a distance.

Jarred only nodded.

"Mmm..." Willow moaned as their tender and passionate kiss subsided, her heart was beating even more rapidly, her breathing hitched the moment her lips met with the blonde's. Her soul cried out for this girl, her heart did the same, she was definitely the one. "I love kissing you."

"Ditto." Tara managed to utter, her voice low in desire.

Willow looked down briefly, thinking of her next words, the words she wanted to utter so badly, her heart aching for it. "So, do you want to..." Willow lifted her head to meet Tara's sapphire depths. "Be mine?"

Tara heart nearly soared at the words, her body shivering in joy. "More than anything." the blonde whispered, her hand gripping the redhead's shoulder in anticipation and exhilaration. "More than anything, Willow."

The redhead smiled once more, kissing Tara quickly on the lips. When they pulled apart, the two girls turned their gaze at Jarred and Xander, sensing the pleading in their eyes. They looked just as happy as they did, both boy's hand over their heart as they pretended to swoon. Deep inside, they were doing just that.

Willow and Tara glanced at each other just once, smiling in amusement then they turned to face the two swooning boys and motioned for them to come to them, their hands waving in encouragement.

Jarred beamed as her ran to the two girls, taking Tara into his arms, lifting the blonde into the air swiftly. As Tara was lifted, Jarred spun around just once, his eyes sparkling in happiness.

"Jarred!" Tara giggled. "What was that for?" she asked as Jarred held his best friend in his arms, the blonde still in the air.

"For grabbing a spoon." Jarred said matter of factly, leaning down to place Tara back on the ground level, he gently kissed Tara on the cheek. "I'm proud of you."

Willow watched Tara interact with her friend and her heart soared even more, she was just too cute for words. Xander was embracing Willow from behind, his chin resting on the redhead's shoulder comfortably. "I think Willow grabbed a spoon, too." he commented, smiling.

Willow and Tara met each other's gaze.

"You sure did." he nodded at Willow. "I think I deserve a thank you." he voiced smugly, brushing his fingers over his shirt, blowing at his fingers in satisfaction.

Tara shook her head in amusement, smiling.

Willow pulled out of Xander's embrace and grabbed Jarred in a tight hug, pulling him tightly against her, burying her face against his chest lovingly. "Thank you." she said sincerely, her eyes shut firmly in happiness.

Jarred brought his hands to Willow's back and patted it gently. "You're welcome." he stated softly, as Willow pulled back and went back to Tara's side. Tara hugged Willow to her chest, all thoughts that they had just met and they should take things slow, out the window.

“So...you girls all right?” Jarred asked, smiling at the two new lovers, wrapping an arm around Tara’s shoulder.

“We are.” Willow stated, looking back at Tara with a soft smile.

“That was some kiss.” Xander commented, nodding enthusiastically.

The other three all rolled their eyes.

“Where do you girls go from here?” Jarred asked the two girls, putting an arm around either of them, nestled in the middle.

Willow and Tara caught each other’s eyes, both knowing the answer.

“We go forward.” Tara nodded, she caught Willow’s eye and smiled, she knew she was right. From now on, they would hold each other dearly, cradle each others hearts, tend to each other’s souls.

A silent promise.

WOW! That is some kiss! :kiss

I thought they wouldn't stop long enough to give each other their names. Now, they really have to talk. Tara should tell Willow about her family problems at home, but she probably thinks she will scare Willow off.

Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.

Tara: Willow, I got so lost.

Willow: I found you. I will always find you.

Spreading Wings: The strenuous journey through life

~~~~~~~~~~
Disclaimer: Characters are not mine, except for Jarred. Jarred is inspired by an actual friend I have name Jermaine. His relationship with Tara almost mimics the relationship I have with him. He’s inspired me. :)
Summary: Willow and Tara get to know each other better after their passionate first kiss, Xander and Jarred make an appearance as well. Plus, Mr. Maclay finds out something about his daughter. Buffy will be back next update.
Note: This story is sort of AU, it has nothing to do with Buffy the Vampire slayer as it has zero to do with vampires, magic, or anything else of that nature. Everyone are normal human beings like us. I wanted to write them going to school, but since Willow and Tara had just met , I’m not sure how to explain the fact that they don’t go to the same school, you’d think that they would have seen each other before than if that was the case. So…they are just starting school and Tara and her family just moved to this new town a few months ago. Thus the reason they never saw each other.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Part three:

A new love blossoms as Tara’s family life escalates

"Who has not hoped

To outrage an enemy's dignity?

Who has not been swept

By the wish to hurt?

And who has not thought that the impersonal world

Deserves no better than to be destroyed

By one fabulous sign of his displeasure?"

-J. Bronowski, The Face of Violence

The two girls were entrapped by each other, as Tara had uttered those three words, Willow and Tara’s attention seemed diverted, not to the two boys…but to each other. As if they were silently speaking without saying anything at all, reading each other’s minds as if they shared the same. Staring deeply into each other’s orbs as if only that sustained them. As if that was what they could do forever, gazing deep. Always gazing deep.

“You know what?” Jarred said suddenly as he saw the way the two girls were looking at each other, he didn’t think that he had a place there when there was an obvious love match in the making, the two girls needed time to be alone, to converse and get to know each other. “We should go.” He added, pulling at Xander’s shoulder.

Xander’s head popped up and his eyes widened.

“They need to be alone.” Jarred explained to Xander, immediately registering his shocked expression. “WE don’t need to be alone.” He stressed as he shook his head…THEY need to be alone.”

“Right…” Xander nodded, chuckling at his silliness. “Bye, Wills.” He leaned forward and kissed Willow’s cheek, squeezing her shoulder in encouragement. “Tara…” he nodded his head, gently nudging the blonde’s shoulder.

Tara just gave Xander a small smile, nodding her head slightly.

Jarred studied Tara, his eyes were soft as he noticed how happy she seemed, how bright her eyes sparkled. It had only been a little over a month since her mother had died and ever since then Tara had been a walking wreck, her was face sunken in a deep depression, her eyes carried a dull tinge of color, and her attitude at her life and the world in general was as pessimistic as ever.

He was overjoyed that Tara appeared to have changed her outlook, if not just temporarily. He wasn’t sure if this new relationship, and he did mean new, would last as long as either girls would expect but he hoped that it would be a good experience for both of them.

Jarred leaned closer to Tara and gently tugged at her shoulder. “Can I borrow Tara for a minute?” he asked Willow, making sure that it was okay, the two girls seemed attached to the hip but he needed to tell his friend something before he left. “I just need to tell her something.” he explained.

“You don’t need to explain.” Willow shook her head as she pushed Jarred towards Tara. “Go on.” She voiced playfully, smiling.

“Great.” Jarred nodded as he lead his best friend a little towards his left, taking Tara by the shoulders. Jarred caught the blonde’s eyes, his gaze softening. “You going to be okay?” he asked her. “I know you guys have to talk.”

“We met just minutes ago; of course we have to talk.” Tara shrugged. She couldn’t believe all that had happened in the past few minutes, how she had gotten to this point. Just a half hour ago she had run from home to escape her family life, crying in Jarred’s shoulders, and now she had kissed this beautiful redhead who she had just met, who she knew nothing about. She didn’t really know what to do. “I think we should get to know each other first before we do anything drastic.”

“And kissing each other in the middle of the street wasn’t drastic?” Jarred smirked as he put his hand on Tara’s head, playfully ruffling up the blonde’s hair. ‘C’mon Tar…I saw you make the first move.”

“I couldn’t help myself.” Tara blushed, her face downcast as she stared at her feet. “You know me more than anyone Jarred, I’m not usually like that.” She shook her head. “It was an instinct.”

“I’m sure it was.” Jarred nodded, his eyes thoughtful. “Be careful.” He voiced afterwards as he leaned over and kissed Tara quickly on the cheek. “I know how hard things can be and with your family…”he trailed off. “Tara, I live right next door to you…I hear exactly what goes on….they don’t hurt you do they?” he asked softly, his voice filled with concern. “You’d tell me if they did, wouldn’t you?”

“They don’t hurt me.” Tara shook her head, her eyes filled with pain. “They hurt themselves.”

“What?” Jarred inquired softly, his eyes widening in concern. “Tara, what did you mean by that?” his eyes locked onto blue.

Tara looked into Jarred’s eyes, her gaze soft. “Ever since my mother died…they have been acting different…worse.” She clarified, shaking her head. “They don’t lay a finger on me…their mouth usually does all the work.”

“And that can be just as damaging.” Jarred stressed. “You might want to tell all this to Willow, she and I might be able to help.”

“She doesn’t need to know.” Tara shook her head adamantly. “My goddess, Jarred…we just met a few minutes ago and now I’m going to tell her my family problems…it’ll scare her off.” Tara shook her head again. “No, she doesn’t need to know any of that.”

“But if you were serious about moving forward...” Jarred disputed, his eyes still soft and understanding. “Eventually you are going to have to.” He finished as his eyes were still locked into Tara’s, he knew he was right and he only hoped that Tara would be able to see that as well, if a relationship is to work out, everything that is important should be discussed. “Please be careful, and think about what I said.”

“I will.” Tara nodded, leaning in to hug her friend. “But I don’t think I’m ready…we hardly know each other.”

“My heart to your heart?” Jarred questioned, smiling slightly. “That’s knowing each other pretty well.”

“How did you…”

“I have remarkable hearing.” Jarred explained with a beaming smile, he then brought his hands into Tara’s and placed their intertwined hands tenderly onto his heart. “I care about you Tara, and I’m sure Willow does too.”

“What are they doing?” Xander watched the scene from a distance with a frown. “My gosh… Willow, are you sure they’re just friends?” he questioned, his brow furrowing in uncertainty. Tara’s hands were still on Jarred’s chest, they seemed to be immersed into a deep conversation. To Xander, they looked like a good-looking couple but Willow and Tara looked good too. “I mean…they seem really, really close.”

“I’m kind of wondering that myself.” Willow frowned, her gaze to Tara and Jarred, a slight tinge of jealousy washed through her but she managed to push it away.

“Really?” Xander turned his head to the redhead, lifting his eyebrows.

“Well, what is that?” Willow stared at the two friends. “A really good friendship?”

“Kind of like us.” Xander nodded as he put his arm around Willow’s shoulder, pulling her into his arms in a friendly gesture, trying to match the same friendship Jarred and Tara seemed to have. “And don’t forget Buffy.” He added as he squeezed his friend’s shoulder in comfort.

“Oh…” Willow’s face looked solemn, her gaze drifting down to her feet. “Buffy.” She said her friend’s name as if it was a horrid disease.

Xander frowned as he noticed his friend’s shoulder slump slightly, her face downcast. “Willow, what is it?” he asked as he tried to catch the redhead’s eyes, needing the eye contact.

Willow just shook her head as her face was still carrying a somber look. “You saw what happened at the beach.” Willow stated softly, her face lifting from the floor. “Buffy doesn’t feel that she can be close to me anymore…the way that we used to be…the way that WE are.” Willow motioned to herself and Xander. “I kind of expected I, so….” She looked down again, closing her eyes slightly.

Xander’s brow furrowed in concern, he turned to Willow and really looked at her, sensing a shift in mood as compared to how beaming and bright she was after she had kissed Tara. “But I thought you two got over that? You hugged and everything.” Xander reminded Willow, remembering the entire scene that had happened just a half hour ago, the two friend’s having a spat of exchanging words. “You two seemed to have patched things up.”

“You can’t patch things up that quickly.” Willow shook her head, her eyes soft. “I felt bad for her when she starting begging me and telling me how much she loves me…so I just told her that everything was okay.” The redhead shrugged. “I’m probably over reacting.”

“You should talk to her.” Xander suggested. “What she feels…it’s not because she doesn’t love you.” Xander explained, his eyes locked into Willow’s emerald orbs.

“Here we go with the love again!” Willow rolled her eyes, sighing loudly in exasperation. “I don’t really want to hear it.” She voiced adamantly, crossing her arms over her chest.

“Well, you’re going to hear it.” Xander stated unyieldingly, his eyes were sill locked on green. “Buffy cares for you; she’s your best friend…this whole gay thing—”

“Gay thing?” Willow crossed her arms over her chest, her brow questioning. “What do you mean by gay thing?”

“The whole issue with you being gay and you thinking that your friendship with Buffy has changed because of it.” Xander clarified softly.

“There shouldn’t be an issue.” Willow simply voiced. “Me being gay shouldn’t be an issue, I’m not attracted to Buffy in any way other than friendship so I don’t see why she’s uncomfortable.” Willow replied, shaking her head in bewilderment.

“I agree.” Xander nodded, his hands on Willow’s shoulder. “Willow, I’m totally with you on that, I am, but I’m not sure Buffy is...at least not in the way she thinks.” He shook his head. “You should talk to her after you talk to Tara.” His eyes softened. “What do you think?”

Willow considered Xander’s words, her mind immersed in contemplation. For a long moment she looked up…then she turned to Xander. “I thought about it…and nope…don’t want to.” Willow uttered stubbornly, her arms crossed over her chest.

Xander let out a loud breath of frustration, his hands running over his face. “Willow.” He sighed. “How could you be so stubborn?”

“She should come to me.” Willow stood her ground, her arms still crossed. “I shouldn’t have to come to her.”

“You should come together.” Xander simply said; his voice soft.

A beat.

Willow’s eyebrows lifted in question.

“Okay, that didn’t sound right.” Xander admitted his brow furrowing as he rolled the words in his mind. Visions of Buffy and Willow together managed to sneak inside, it didn’t look right. “Okay, that definitely doesn’t look right.” He shook his head vigorously.

Willow’s eyebrows lifted in question again, her face contorting in disgust. “What doesn’t look right?” she inquired. “What in the world in going on in your head?!” she exclaimed, punching her friend on the shoulder.

“You and Buffy—” Xander started to say, but was interrupted by Willow.

“Eww!” Willow stuck out her tongue in revulsion. “God, Xander…I don’t want to hear it.”

“I meant…that you should talk to her.” Xander amended; his eyes were soft and understanding. “After you talk to Tara.” He added, his gaze back to the two friends, Tara and Jarred were now heading their way. “Since she’s coming this way.” He pointed to the blonde that was now walking in their direction, just a few yards away.

Willow’s eyes widened and then softened when she saw Tara heading their way, her body shivering when she took in the sight of Tara’s sparkling and luminous blue depths.

The redhead sighed.

“You guys are all right?” Xander asked the two friends as they stood next to them. “You’re done with all the touchy feeling?”

“We’re fine.” Tara assured, not meeting Jarred’s eyes. She walked to Willow’s side and smiled at her. Willow’s heart managed to beat faster as the blonde came closer, her smile radiating. Tara snuggled to Willow’s side and gave the redhead a quick kiss. Willow kissed her back and wrapped her arms around the blonde from behind.

Xander and Jarred shared a look.

“They do this a lot.” Xander nodded. “It’s like the third time they kissed in less than five minutes.” He said thoughtfully.

Jarred just shrugged. “Their hearts are entwined, what can I say?”

This time Xander shrugged, still watching the two girls now immersed into yet another deep kiss. “I need a girlfriend.” He sighed, shaking his head. “I really, really need a girlfriend.”

“I need a boyfriend.” Jarred sighed, shaking his head as well. “You interested?”

Xander’s eyes popped open, looking like two flying saucers. “I…I’m not…” he faltered, not finding his words. “I’m not gay.” He managed to utter without choking on his words. “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.” He stressed, meeting Jarred’s eyes.

“It was a joke, Xander.” Jarred clarified, chuckling. “You’re not my type any way.” He added as an afterthought.

“What’s wrong with me?” Xander seemed offended, crossing his arms over his chest in defiance. “If I were gay, you wouldn’t date me?” He voiced in exasperation. “Is there something fundamentally un-datable about me?” he demanded as he locked his eyes with the other boy.

“Okay…have you gone insane?” he questioned Xander. “Besides, this is a fic about Willow and Tara.” He stated simply, returning his gaze to the two lovebirds. “Let’s get back to them.”

“Right.” Xander nodded, turning to the two girls. “We should go.” He told the two girls. “You two have a good time all right?” he told them, giving Willow a quick hug.

“Bye, Xander.” Willow waved at her friend.

“Tar…” Jarred leaned forward to grab his friend in a hug as well. “I’ll call you tomorrow?”

Tara nodded, hugging Jarred more tightly in their embrace. “You better.” She said in their hold, her eyes closing unconsciously.

Xander and Jarred gave their friends another quick wave of their hands and then left, leaving the two girls alone.

The two girls were now alone, it felt different when they were alone. It seemed more intimate, more personal; their love seemed heightened when they realized that there would be no other person there who could disturb them, who could get in their way. They had the whole day with each other, and if they played their cards right, a whole lifetime as well.

“So, what do you want to do?” Willow asked after awhile, her gaze still locked into Tara’s cobalt orbs, seemingly spellbound. “Do you have someplace you want to go…to talk?” she asked the blonde, her hands interlocking with Tara’s.

“Actually, there is a place.” Tara nodded, gently squeezing Willow’s hand into her own. “I like to go there when I want to think.” She replied softly. “When I want to be alone.”

“But you won’t be alone.” Willow pointed out.

“I’ll be alone with you.” Tara smiled, bringing their interlocked hands to her lips, kissing Willow’s slender digits tenderly. “And I think we have a lot to talk about…I want to know everything about you.” She voiced softly, her eyes locked into Willow’s emerald green depths. “I think we owe it to each other to learn about everything.

“Me too.” Willow nodded. “I want to know everything.”

“Then, shall we go?” Tara asked in a smiled as she held out her hand.

“Where to?” Willow gave Tara a beaming bright smile. “Where is this special place of yours?” she asked afterwards, taking Tara’s hand back into her own, feeling immediately comforted. Tara’s touch warmed her soul and she had a feeling that it worked the other way as well. There was something about this girl that caused her to shiver with desire and love every time they touched, considering that they just met each other literally minutes ago.

“It’s really not that far from here.” Tara stated softly. “I actually just came from there with Jarred.” She explained, squeezing Tara’s hand even tighter. “It’s a little park from here that over looks a small stream, there’s a huge rock there that I like to sit at.”

“I know that place.” Willow smiled. “I’ve been there before with Xander and Buffy.”

“Xander was the one that…” she trailed off.

“Introduced us, him and your friend.” She nodded. “I forgot to introduce you guys...” She admitted in embarrassment. “I’m sorry.”

“We were a bit preoccupied.” Tara smiled as she led them towards her special place, the two girls walking hand in hand. “Him and Jarred seem to get along pretty well.” The blonde commented, still walking in slow paces to their destination.

“I think it’s nice.” Willow nodded, continuing their peaceful and comforting conversation, still walking hand and hand. “Xander needs a guy friend and Jarred seems like a nice guy.”

“He is.” Tara smiled, getting closer to her spot. “He’s the best guy I know.”

Willow nodded quietly.

“And Buffy is…?” Tara questioned conversationally, lifting her gaze from her feet to the redhead, locking eye contact once again.

“She’s my friend.” Willow replied, a sad smile gracing her face. “At least I think she is.” Willow finished softly, her gaze on the floor.

“You think she is?” Tara tried to catch Willow’s gaze. “You don’t know she is?”

“She’s been acting differently with me since I came out.” Willow silently confessed, her face lifting up as she met Tara’s comforting azure orbs. “We had a fight today.” She added softly.

“I’m sure she still loves you.” Tara voiced softly, continuing their walk. “She just needs to adjust to the idea, that’s all…she has to know that you haven’t changed”

“I hope so.” Willow stated, smiling a half-smile at the blonde as they neared the small stream near the park. “It’s beautiful here.” Willow remarked as her eyes took in the peaceful and serene spot. Tara led her quietly to a small park bench and sat down, Willow sitting just beside her. “I see why you like to come here, to get away from everything.”

“Yeah…to get away.” Tara said delicately, thinking if the many times she had come here to get away from her family, the many times she’d come here with her mother since they moved here just three months ago, the many happy times she’d spent with her, throwing rocks into the stream. “It takes my mind off things.”

“Thank you for sharing this place with me.” Willow conversed softly. “I’d like to know more about you.” She added tenderly. “I want to know everything.”

“I’m 17.” Tara smiled, hoping Willow was about the same age.

Willow’s eyes lit up. “Me too!” she exclaimed, happiness enveloping her.

Tara chuckled, her eyes sparkling. “Another thing we have in common.” She beamed, her hands stroking Willow’s hair, her arms curled around the redhead’s shoulders. “Other than the obvious.”

Willow giggled. “We both have guy friends.” She added, their hands interlocked in a loving and tender embrace.

“That too.” Tara nodded; her gaze was to their entwined hands, loving the feel of Willow’s warm hands in her own larger ones.

“What about your family?” Willow asked after a short silence. “Do you have any brothers and sisters?” she inquired, interested.

“I have a brother.” Tara responded gently, her eyes downcast as she stared at their joined hands. She didn’t want to talk about Donny, anytime she thought about him or talked about him, a deep sense of unhappiness and grief washed over her. Donny and she used to be close until his drinking problem, and his drinking problem as increased since their mother died. Her brother seemed to have a lot of pent up emotions inside of him and he usually took it out on her.

“I’m an only child.” Willow confessed quietly. “It must be nice to have someone.”

Tara lifted her gaze and gave her a sad smile that Willow didn’t seem to notice. “Yeah…nice.” She uttered softly. “I guess you can say that.”

Willow was oblivious. “All I have is my parents and don’t get me started on them, especially my mother.” She shook her head, her body shivering in distaste as she thought about her mother and their last conversation; the conversation about her coming out, Willow’s mother hadn’t talked to her since. “What about your mother?” she asked, shaking her head from the thought of her own. “She must be nicer than mine.”

“My mother passed away last month.” Tara replied sadly, her eyes tearing up slightly as she thought of her mother, but she managed to keep it at bay, the warm tears in her eyes only a thin sheen behind her eyelids. “But yeah…she was really nice.”

Willow was surprised and chastising herself that she had blabbed on about her own mother and her hatred of her. “Tara, I’m so sorry.” Willow voiced, her tone sympathetic. “I shouldn’t have…”

“No, it’s okay.” Tara shook her head. “She went by peacefully, and at least I got to be with her.” She stated gently, her face sad.

“She must have been amazing…to have a daughter like you.” Willow commented after a moment, her voice softhearted and gentle. ‘She must have been the most amazing person in the world.”

“She really was.” Tara nodded, her heart busting with grief as she thought about her mother but she also smiled inwardly as she thought of all the good things they shared together, the happiness her mother brought to her life. “The best I’ve ever known.” She finished softly.

“Tara, I like being with you.” Willow said suddenly, breaking the silence. “I don’t know what it means because we just met…”

“That psychic didn’t tell you anything else?” the blonde smiled softly as her slender fingers stroked Willow’s scarlet tresses. “She seemed to be right about everything else.”

“I left before she could say anything else.” Willow chuckled. “I was kind of freaked out.”

“We can go back.” Tara suggested, leaning her body against Willow’s, her head on the redhead’s lap. “We can thank her.”

“I’d like that.” Willow grinned; it was her turn to stroke Tara’s hair, loving the feel of the blonde’s head nestled on her lap. “Do you know what I’d like even more?” the redhead inquired coyly, smiling in desire.

“What?” Tara sat up on the bench, her deep blue depths gazing intently into Willow’s emerald ones. “Anything.”

“I want to kiss you.”

Tara smiled and took Willow’s lips tenderly onto her own, kissing her intently. Their lips meeting in a passionate embrace, the warmness of their lips soothing each other’s soul, calming their nerves. The two girls shivered in desire and devotion, their hearts pounding in their chest. They never wanted to stop, they couldn’t stop. Tara’s hands were buried inside Willow’s red tresses, pulling her closer, kissing her more gently. Never stopping, never thinking to stop.

Never-ending.

Eternal love.

Steve Maclay was fuming with anger, he was angry at his son, angry that his wife was dead, and he was also angry that he couldn’t find his daughter. After his forth alcoholic beverage, Tara’s father was pretty inebriated, completely and utterly smashed. He roughly pounded onto Donny’s door and demanded to know where Tara was, seething in fury. He was angry for no apparent reason, he just was.

“Donny, where is your sister?” Steve continued to hammer on Donny’s bedroom door. “Open the door right now, Donny!” he demanded, roughly pulling at the silver doorknob.

“Fuck off, dad.” Donny yelled through the door.

“Open the goddamn door!” Steve pounded once again, incensed in anger. “Where is your sister?!”

Donny sighed and walked slowly to his door, unlocking it swiftly. He turned to his father; his eyes were sunken and tired. She’s probably at the park, I see her go there sometimes.” He managed to say without screaming back. “God knows what she does there.” He voiced, his face contorting in disgust. “God knows what she does anywhere.”

Steve gave his son a piercing stare before turning away; he walked out the front door, a beer bottle in his hands. He knew the exact park Donny was referring to and he was determined to grab Tara and take her back home. He continued to walk through the street, unwavering.

Willow and Tara persisted in their kiss, loving the feel of their mouths pressed together, every single time their lips met with the other they felt as if they were floating on air. They kissed each other again and again, they both knew that they had a lot more to talk about but right now all they wanted to do was be with each other, letting their mouths do what their voices could do later.

Finally, they pulled away, their hands were still interlocked. Their eyes were staring deeply into the other, never letting go of their tender and loving gaze, never wanting to let go. Willow and Tara continued their deep gaze, smiling at each other. Holding each other’s hands on their heart. Tara leaned in once again, and started another make-out session, unable to stop for much longer.

Steve was in the background, watching the entire scene in shock, staggering back in disbelief. The beer in his hands dropped to the floor, forgotten.

Willow and Tara, meanwhile, continued their kiss.

Utterly oblivious.

I'm really enjoying this story, especially since Willow and Tara's idea of getting to know each other better is by constantly making out. Maybe that's how I should start my next relationship......but that's a whole different topic.

So just wanted to say what a great story you've written so far, can't wait to read more. Boo for Buffy being a moron(surprise,surprise) and Tara's evil family, yay for Willow and Tara smoochies.

PS- Just wondering if you were gonna explain Willow's disastrous first dating attempt? It was mentioned briefly but caught my interest.

Oh Boy Tara's in trouble! I think of all the fics I've read, yours has to rank as the fastes w/t kiss from first sight to contact. It's kind of romantic , especially now that they are trying to get to know each other. I wish Tara felt comfy enough to share the stuff about her family with Willow. Thanks!

Always look on the bright side; (1) Steve dropped the bottle and (2) Tara probably won't have to tell much about her remaining familly herself... other then that we'll have to wait and see. Now would be good time to reveal Willow has been studying karate or such since she was 6 or so...:)

I was wondering about them 'going forward', since it doesn't really say anything. Getting each others contact-details like phone and adress would be usefull, start there :-) Had to laugh at quotes like "I don't usually do this, you know."...

Is Willow being stubborn on purpose or does she really not see Buffy's problem ? This quote "so I don't see why she's uncomfortable " seems to indicate that she refuses to see why Buffy would need to adapt to the fact that her friend is gay. Wouldn't think that would be all that difficult to figure out, but dissappointing coming from Willow. Ah well, maybe Tara can help her out there.

Continued:

Steve Maclay’s fist tightened in anger, his eyes widened in shock, completely flabbergasted at what he was seeing. Was it the beer in his gut that had gotten to his brain or was his daughter actually kissing another girl right in front of his eyes?

He stood there as he watched the two girls continue to kiss, not moving his feet from the ground just watching in silence. He hadn’t even noticed that his beer had fallen to the ground. After his brain registered, he realized that he needed to put a stop to this once and for all, her daughter was not going to continue with this, not if he had anything to do with it.

“Tara!” Steve Maclay’s voice tore through the deserted park; he stomped his way to the two girls on the lone bench and grabbed Tara by the collar of her shirt.

“You’re coming home…now.” He tightened his jaw, attempting to control his rising rage. He pulled Tara to her feet and tugged her towards him. “You.” He spat out to the wide eyed redhead who was now on her feet as well. “You should get out of here.” He voiced before turning away and marching their way back home.

Tara didn’t struggle much; she just let her father lead her away. She looked back at Willow with a helpless and apologetic expression, her eyes pleading. Willow wasn’t going to let it go that easily and called out for the other girl. “Tara!” she cried out to the disappearing form of the blonde. “Tara, I don’t even know your….” The redhead was interrupted by who she guessed was Tara’s father, his voice was tight and cold.

“You young lady…are never to come near my daughter again.” Steve warned, his eyes flashing in hate at the redhead, causing Willow to shrink back in intimidation and a bit of fear. “Just walk away little girl…and don’t come back.” He uttered out, his voice harsh as he continued to pull at Tara’s shirt, turning his attention away from the redhead and back to his daughter.

“Number.” Willow finished in defeat, a deep concern for Tara washing over her, she watched Tara being dragged away, not knowing what to do next.

Should she march over there and knock Tara’s father to his feet and then sweep Tara into her arms like she was prince charming? Should she pull Tara into her arms and away from her father and then the two of them could skip onto the sunset of their own destiny? What she really wanted to do was use her Taekwando skills that Buffy had taught her and put it to good use, kicking Tara’s father’s ass to the ground floor like a rag doll that he was.

But she knew she couldn’t do any of that, she followed the two quietly to see where her blonde goddess had lived.

Willow trailed the two as discretely as she possibly could, hiding near a few bushes when Steve Maclay would occasionally look back. She was like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible, all with the sneakiness.

She was profoundly worried about Tara’s safety and she was now completely regretting that she hadn’t gotten to know her better when she had the opportunity, she didn’t even know Tara’s last name. She didn’t even know Tara’s phone number. The only hope she had was an address, which was why she was following them.

It didn’t take that far for the two to reach home and Willow was relieved when she realized that it wouldn’t be too hard to memorize this particular house, the mail box out front was fairly unique, a barn yard was there instead of a traditional mailbox and the number that was encased there was labeled 137, that was easy to memorize as well.

Willow poked her head from behind the white fence and watched at Steve Maclay and Tara walked into the door, Tara’s father slamming the oak wood roughly behind them. She tried to listen on but all she could hear was muffled yelling, she stayed back for a while in case Tara ever left the house, waiting patiently.

Steve shoved Tara onto the couch, his hands over his chest. “You want to explain what I just saw, Tara?” he questioned, his breath smelling like alcohol and booze. “When were you going to tell me that you were a….a lesbian” he said the last word as if it was the black plague, his face contorting in disgust.

Tara said nothing, her mouth opening and closing but no words managed to come out. She was in shock, in shock that Willow was now gone from her life and that they hadn’t exchanged any numbers or addresses, they were too engrossed in kissing that she hadn’t even asked what Willow’s last name was so she could at least look up her last name in the phone book, Willow was gone. And now, to top it all off, her father now knew about her secret, the secret that only her mother had known. A mother always knows.

“Well, say something Tara!” Steve demanded, standing his ground in front of his daughter. “What would you’re mother think?” he spat out, the mention of her mother digging deep into Tara’s soul, breaking her heart. “How would you’re mother feel about all this?” he challenged roughly.

Tara still couldn’t say anything, she swallowed once to make out the words but it caught in her throat, she was terrified. She was always intimidated y her father, his words cut into her flesh and wounds much harder than any physical abuse he could muster.

Her father had lifted his hands on several occasions but always managed to pull back before he did the actual hitting, sometimes Tara had preferred the hitting.

“Tell me, Tara!” Steve yelled out at his daughter, needing an answer, demanding an answer or response, needing Tara to saw something...to explain her actions to him. “What would you’re mother think?!” he asked again, persistent.

“Mom knew.” Tara uttered out in a low voice, almost a whisper, not meeting her father’s eyes, not knowing what he would think about that revelation, her eyes were filled with pain.

“What?” Steve questioned, his brow furrowing in confusion and shock once again, had Tara really said that his wife had know, was it the beet that was talking again? “What did you say, girl?” he demanded, his eyes a hard mask.

“Mom knew.” Tara managed to regain her courage, her voice adamant as a few tears graced from behind her eyelids. “Mom knew, okay dad?” Tara stood up from her seat on the couch and stood her heights way in front of her father, standing up to him, they were now on each other’s level, almost the same height. “I told mom everything.” She finished quietly. “Mom knew that I was gay.”

Steve was silent, his clenched fist loosening in its grip; he tightened them again but still said nothing.

“And she loved me just the same.” Tara voiced, her azure orbs meeting her father’s brown depths, tears spilling down her face steadily. “That’s what she thought…that she loved me.”

Steve clenched his jaw and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. “Go to your room.” He stated his eyes still closed, his fist tightened into a small ball as he inhaled deeply. “And don’t come back out until I tell you to.” He finally opened his eyes. “I don’t want to see you right now.”

Tara just nodded and rushed up the stairs, a few more tears slipping down her cheeks. She walked quietly down the upstairs hall where she met up with Donny, a satisfied and pleased smile gracing his face.

“So that’s what you were doing at the park all those times.” He grinned evilly, smirking. “Kissing up on girls, huh?” he smiled again, shaking his head. “Didn’t think you had it in you.” He crossed his arms over his chest as he blocked Tara’s way to her room.

“Move away, Donny.” Tara voiced, not meeting her brother’s eyes. “Let me pass.”

“And if I don’t?” he spat out, still blocking Tara’s way to her bedroom. “What are you going to do then?”

Tara let out a large breath of frustration before she roughly pushed Donny away, causing her brother to stagger to the side. Donny seemed surprised that Tara had done that but he did relent and went back into his room, dismissing Tara’s problems as her own.

Tara rushed to her room and shut the door behind her; she threw herself onto her bed and buried her head inside her throw cushion. She didn’t know if she’d ever see Willow again, she didn’t know if they’d ever meet again. They had no means of contacting each other and that one fact made Tara want to cry more. Tara buried her head underneath her blankets and stayed that way for the longest time, crying silently.

Willow was still peeking her head out from between a large hedge plant and the fence next door, her butt sticking out into the air as she bent down, watching Tara’s front door intently, hoping that her blonde goddess would come out soon enough. She was there for a good five minutes, hidden behind a nearby bush, continuing her watch.

After a few extra minutes, Willow was about to give up, she turned around in an attempt to head home. She sighed in frustration and shook her head, not believing that her romantic day with Tara had turned out like this, a disastrous end.

She had regretted that she didn’t get to know the blonde better. She walked a few paces away from Tara’s house and headed her way home, she passed Tara’s house and was on her way towards the other side. She looked back at the house and sighed, shaking her head as she left.

Willow decided to head over to Buffy’s house because she was certain that Xander would be there as well. The three of them spent most of their time at Buffy’s place because she was the only one out of the three of them who had a nice family, Joyce was the best mother you could come across. Gentle and loving in every single way, she was also very understanding when she found out about Willow.

It took Willow a good half hour to reach Buffy’s house but the entire time she had strolled the sidewalks, her mind was on Tara. She memorized Tara’s house but that didn’t give her much comfort as their make-out session had been interrupted. She didn’t know Tara’s last name or anything else about her and the redhead was really regretting the fact that she hadn’t asked before then. She was too immersed in their kiss.

When Willow reached the Summer’s residence, she hesitated at the door, staring at the oak wood in silence as her fisted hands were raised onto the wood. She stood there for a few more seconds until she managed to get herself to ring the door. She pressed the ringer with her slender index finger and waited a couple of more seconds for anyone to answer.

Just then, Xander’s head popped out and gave the redhead a large greeting of a hug. “Willow!” he exclaimed in a beaming smile. “Why are you hear so quickly, you and Tara didn’t talk?” he questioned his friend in a frown, his brow furrowed.

“We were kissing…” Willow tried to explain but was interrupted by Xander once again.

“Kissing again huh?” he playfully nudged at Willow’s shoulders, smiling brightly. “You two can’t get enough of each other, huh?” he smirked, leading the redhead into Buffy’s house. “Buffy’s in the bathroom, she’ll be out soon.” He assured the redhead, leading her to the living room.

“Tara’s father interrupted us.” Willow confessed, her eyes sad.

“Oh, Willow…” Xander sat on the couch beside her, his hand patted the redhead’s leg in comfort. “That’s not good.”

“That’s not all.” Willow shook her head, her eyes locking into her friend’s brown orbs. “He dragged her back home and then told me that I was to never see her again.”

“That bastard.” Xander uttered out. “But you have her number, right?” he questioned his friend. “Something to contact her with?”

Willow looked down at her hands and shook her head in defeat. “I don’t.” she said simply, her face downcast.

“But I thought you guys were getting to know each other?” Xander frown in confusion, shaking his head as well. “I’d like think that getting to know each other would involve exchanging numbers at the least.” He added, exasperated.

“I know, Xander!” Willow stood up from her seating position, her face carried a tinge of regret. “I should have asked her but I was too busy kissing her.” She explained as her face seemed pained. “How should I know that her father would come barging through and drag her back home.” She uttered out, agitated.

“Do you know where she lives?” Xander asked to make sure. “At least then you’d know where she’d be.”

“I know where she lives.” Willow nodded, sitting back down on the couch beside Xander. “I followed her and her father and…yeah I know where she lives.” Willow said again.

“Well, there you go.” Xander smiled, squeezing Willow’s shoulder in encouragement. “That’s a positive.”

“What’s a positive?” Buffy asked as she entered the living room, giving Willow a small smile, Willow smiled back, but only briefly, before putting her head in her hands in frustration. “Willow, are you okay?” she asked her friend, sitting at the other side of Willow. The redhead was now nestled in between Buffy and Xander.

“Willow met a girl.” Xander explained simply, catching Buffy’s eyes.

“A girl?” Buffy voiced surprised. Willow had met somebody already, she didn’t have a girlfriend when they were at the beach and that hadn’t been that long ago, and now she met a girl. That was way too fast.

Willow lifted her head from her hands and gave Buffy a questioning stare.

Buffy noticed Willow’s glance and backtracked. “No Willow…I think that’s great.” Buffy smiled, bringing her hand over Willow’s shoulder, squeezing gently. “What’s her name?”

“Tara.” Willow responded, saying the name with much reverence. “Her name is Tara.”

“Well, if you met someone than why are you so down in the dumps?” Buffy asked Willow, genuinely concerned. “Will?” she asked again, putting an arm around Willow’s shoulders.

Willow lifted her head and stared into Buffy’s eyes, she could see that Buffy was legitimately concerned. You really want to know?” she asked Buffy in a small voice, her eyebrows lifting in hope.

“Yes.” Buffy stated softly, her hazel eyes locking into Willow’s emerald green, she brought her hand into Willow’s and squeezed softly in encouragement. “Willow, I really do.” She added tenderly, trying to let Willow know that she was trying her best to be the friend that she used to be since Willow was having serious doubts.

Willow gave Buffy a smile and squeezed her hand as well, their eyes meeting just once. Willow held Buffy’s hand as she proceeded to explain the entire situation to her friend, making sure to not leave out any details. She told Buffy about the psychic Xander and she had gone to, she told her about what the psychic had said about her meeting someone and she also told her about the magical kiss that she had shared with the blonde and the small conversation they had before she was dragged away from her father. Buffy listened intently, genuinely interested in what Willow had to say.

“That must have been some kiss.” Was Buffy’s first words after Willow’s explanation, Willow looked at Buffy’s smiling face and laughed out loud, feeling a little better, their hands were still entwined. Buffy smiled at Willow and squeezed her hands even tighter. “I say you go there.” Buffy stated matter of factly.

“I don’t think so.” Willow shook her head. “What about her father?” she reminded Buffy, her eyebrow’s lifting.

“Well, I’ll kick his ass…I know Taekwando.” Buffy said matter of factly, giving Willow a small smile, Willow looked towards Xander who was nodding enthusiastically as well.

“I need to see her.” Willow said suddenly, sitting up from her seat on the chair. “I need to talk to her more…I need to tell her that I love her.”

“Love?” Buffy voiced, surprised. “You love her?” she tilted her head to Willow, her eyes wide in shock.

Willow just nodded as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, that her two friends should have known that after her detailed recap of her day with Tara.

“You love Tara?” Xander asked, just as surprised. “Willow, are you sure?” he frowned, not believing that Willow knew what she was talking about. They had just met and had only known each other for a good hour, he knew of no one who could fall in love that quickly…except for Romeo and Juliet and we all know how that ended.

Willow looked up to the ceiling and thought about their question, it only took a few seconds for Willow to muster an answer. “I love her.” Willow nodded, smiling. “I love her.” She repeated again.

“Cool.” Xander smiled, standing up to hug Willow into his arms. “I take this as a congratulations…you are the first one out of the three of us who can say that they’d ever fallen in love.” He pulled back and locked his eyes into Willow’s. “That Willow… is an accomplishment.”

Willow smiled in satisfaction, hugging Xander back.

Buffy hugged Willow from behind and attempted to comfort Willow as well. “You definitely have to go there now, if not just to say those three words.” She whispered into Willow’s ear, her arms still wrapped around her friend. “You have any ideas on how to do that without crossing paths with Tara’s father?” she asked her friend afterwards, needing to be sure that Willow didn’t have to be in Tara’s father’s way.

“I have an idea.” Willow stated matter of factly, nodding in enthusiasm. “But we can’t do it until tonight.”

“What is it Willow?” Buffy pulled back, giving her friend a questioning glance.

“I can almost see the light bulb.” Xander noted, waving his hand over Willow’s head playfully.

Buffy rolled her eyes as Willow lightly nudged his shoulder, shaking her head. “Be serious.” Willow said, looking back at Buffy and Xander to see if they’d be up to it. “I need both of your help.”

“Us?” Xander’s eyed widened. “Willow, what are you thinking?”

“You’ll see.” Willow smiled coyly, her eyes sparkling.

Later that night:

Willow had finally revealed her plans to the gang, she was smiling the entire time she explained her proposal. It was fairly simple and Xander and Buffy agreed right away, at first Willow wanted to walk but that seemed impossible considering what the three of them had to lug with them. Xander suggested that he borrow his father’s pick up truck to make their plan work more easily.

Xander drove his father’s pick up truck with Buffy and Willow at the backseat, a large ladder sat at the back. The drive didn’t take that long and when they reached the curb in front of Tara’s house but a little shielded away from view, Willow seemed extra nervous. Xander got out of the car first, Buffy and Willow following close behind.

Quietly, the three of them rushed to the back of the truck and picked up the ladder.

“I can’t believe that you convinced us to do this.” Buffy shook her head in incredulity. ‘We could get arrested for trespassing.”

“Well, it’s not like I can do this without you guys.” Willow smiled, lifting the large step ladder with Buffy and Xander’s help. “Thank you guys for helping me.” Willow said sincerely, as the three of them lifted the ladder out from the back of the truck and to the floor. “And jail…let’s not even think about that.”

“No problem, Wills.” Xander went to Willow’s side and hugged her tenderly. “I hope Tara is worth it.”

“I think she is.” Willow smiled as she thought of Tara, she was sure that the blonde would be surprised, she hadn’t talked to Tara since that day earlier and now she was bursting with need to see her one more time, bursting in need to look into Tara’s azure deep depths, bursting in need to press her lips against the blonde’s one more time, needing to talk to her more and to get to know her the proper way.

“I know she is.” She corrected gently.

Buffy and Xander simply nodded as they helped Willow carry the ladder to Tara’s window.

Jarred passed his upstairs hallway, wanting to get a snack before he headed to an early sleep, he glanced out the widow momentarily when he saw a red pickup truck near his curb, he frowned and looked more closely, His eyes widened when he saw that Willow, Xander, and a blonde was there, lugging a large ladder in their arms. He rushed down the stairs and out the door in confusion.

“Willow…Xander!” a male’s voice was heard, the three friends turned their head and found that Jarred, Tara’s friend, was there, his eyes wide in surprise and happiness. “What are you guys doing here?” he questioned them as he left his front door, shutting the wood behind him; he then rushed to Willow’s side carrying a questioning glance at the three friends. What were they doing here? “Did you just come from Tara’s?”

“No, Jarred….I came here to do something, I followed Tara and her father here earlier and now I have to tell her something.” Willow stated matter of factly, shaking her head.

Jarred just lifted his eyebrows in confusion.

“Tara and her father.” Willow clarified, her head still peeking to next door. “We were kissing on the bench and then suddenly Tara’s father was there, dragging her home.” Her voice was low with concern.

“He said that he didn’t want me anywhere near her again, so I followed them to see where she lived.” She finished, her heart breaking at the thought of not ever seeing Tara again. They may have just met but their souls were tied together way before then, she knew that there was something about Tara that soothed her soul and vise versa. She could never accept the fact that she couldn’t see Tara.

“Oh, god…I was afraid of this.” Jarred said, shaking his head in unease, he knew that something like this would happen and he wasn’t sure why he hadn’t done something to stop it, but he really didn’t know if there was something he could do in the first place. Willow and Tara’s love wouldn’t come as easily or effortlessly as either girl had initially thought.

“Afraid of this?” Xander echoed Jarred’s words, his eyes widening in concern and apprehension. “Afraid of what?” He asked the other boy, his brow furrowing in alarm. “Jarred, what are you talking about?” he asked one more time, extremely distressed.

“Tara’s father is pretty strict.” Jarred explained.

“I need to see her.” Willow voiced adamantly.

“And how do you propose we do that?” Jarred lifted an eyebrow, skeptical at whatever Willow had planned. “Willow, what are you guys planning to do with that ladder?”

“Well, I need to see her.” Willow stated matter of factly, she wasn’t going to leave this neighborhood until she saw Tara, that was for sure. “I need to see her Jarred and nobody can stop that.” Willow was adamant, and when Willow was adamant, there was nothing in the world that could stop her.

Jarred’s eyes softened when he saw how determined the redhead was. “Willow, I understand what you’re feeling, I do…”

“I’m going to use this ladder to climb up Tara’s window.” Willow stated simply, all rational thought had disappeared; she needed to see Tara and she hadn’t cared what it cost. “We weren’t finished with our kiss.” She voiced adamantly, still carrying the other side of the ladder as Xander and Buffy grasped onto the other side.

“Okay…” Jarred took a deep breath, this girl was talking crazy and he needed to rectify the situation. “I can give you her number.” Jarred suggested his eyes pleading for Willow to forget about climbing up Tara’s window. “Just put down the ladder.” He said softly, sighing.

“I can’t do that.” Willow said simply, shaking her head.

“But, Willow…how do you expect to do this without getting caught?” Jarred asked, his green depths were locked onto the other girl’s emerald orbs as he tried to get through to the redhead. “This is a bad idea.” He shook his head as he refused to give in to the redhead, who was obviously off her head.

“I think it’s a great idea.” Willow nodded her head enthusiastically.

Jarred studied Willow and knew as he met her eyes that the redhead was serious, she was going to do this no matter what he said, and he figured that it would be better if he helped her carry the ladder than have a redheaded girl with a broken back in his front yard. “Fine.” Jarred sighed. “It might just be romantic.”

“Thanks.” Willow gave Jarred a beaming bright smile. “I’d hug you if I could but I have a ladder on me.” Willow pointed out, smiling again.

“Let’s imagine that we’re hugging, huh?” Jarred smirked as he shook his head in amusement at the whole situation, Tara sure knew how to pick the girls. Willow seemed head over heels in love with her to be lugging a huge ladder to her window. “And be careful okay? I don’t want you to break your neck or anything.”

“That’s not going to happen.” Willow stated as she lifted the ladder into her arms and tottered a bit to her right, wobbling a bit as she struggled to hold on. “Okay, let’s go.” She told her two friends, nodding at Buffy and Xander, proceeding to haul the hefty and sizable ladder step towards the other yard, adamant.

“Jarred…which window is Tara’s?” Xander asked the other boy, helping his other two friends’ carry the heavy ladder; he wobbled a bit to his side causing Willow and Buffy to almost fall on their asses.

“It’s the one on the left.” Jarred stated, pointing at Tara’s widow, he saw them struggle so he rushed forward and helped the three.

They leaned the ladder against the side wall of Tara’s house and stepped back, leaving Willow to do whatever she wanted to do, leaving her to her privacy. Willow looked up the length of the ladder, and nodded. “I’m sure.”

Jarred, Xander, and Buffy all nodded and stepped away from Willow, looking up as they watched the redhead climb the stairs. Buffy seemed concerned when Willow neared the top so she rushed to the bottom of the steps so she could hold on to the ladder, she didn’t want Willow to break her neck or back in a fall.

Buffy stood there and helped steady the ladder, glancing up to see her friend nearing Tara’s closed window.

Willow looked down to see that Buffy was helping the ladder steady, she smiled softly at Buffy and proceeded to climb the extra steps to Tara’s windowpane.

Tara hadn’t left her room the entire time because she didn’t want to see her father or brother; she was surprised when her father had not bothered her the entire day, he didn’t ask her to explain any more about her kiss with Willow, he hadn’t come pounding at her door to mess with her, he hadn’t done anything.

Tara was still thinking about Willow, the redhead’s face engraved in her mind. The feel of Willow’s lips fresh in her brain, as she thought about it she shivered in desire. She remembered how she was dragged away from Willow and she felt a wave of sadness engulf her, she didn’t know if she’s ever see Willow again. She lay on her bed, quietly staring at the ceiling above her, her eyes darting across the colorless wall, sighing as she closed her eyes.

Willow poked her head to see into Tara’s window, she smiled in happiness when she saw Tara laying on her bed, her eyes closed. Willow motioned her hands and called for her. “Tara!” Willow cried out, her hands waving frantically that she almost slipped off the ladder, she trembled a little bit to her side, wobbling.

“Willow, are you okay?” Buffy asked from the bottom of the stairs, looking up in concern.

“I’m fine Buffy.” Willow assured, glancing down to catch Buffy’s gaze. She turned back to Tara’s window and called her name once again. “Tara!” she repeated, this time louder.

Tara opened her eyes when she thought she heard something, her face turning around lightly from side to side, she then closed her eyes once again, dismissing the noise as imagination.

Willow sighed and tapped at Tara’s window, knocking on it gently. She smiled when she saw Tara turn to her, her smile radiant. Willow waved to Tara when she saw the blonde rush to the window, her deep blue depths sparkling brightly. Willow continued to smile, her mouth almost hurting as she beamed even brighter, smiling widely in happiness.

Tara rushed to the window and opened it swiftly; she was completely surprised that the redhead was at her window, she could see Willow’s luminous green depths staring back at her.

“Willow!” the blonde exclaimed, smiling widely. “What are you doing here?” she asked.

“I came to see you.” Willow explained simply, giving Tara her best half-smile. “Surprise.” The voiced softly, her eyes never leaving those of Tara’s.

Tara laughed in a sudden surge of happiness; she then leaned forward to capture Willow’s lips into her own, kissing her tenderly and passionately, Tara’s hands cupped Willow’s cheeks, pulling Willow’s face more closer, kissing her deeper. “How did you know where I lived?” Tara asked as they pulled away from the kiss, she lifted her eyebrow in question but her eyes were still gleaming with bliss and delight.

“I followed you.” Willow stated shyly, glancing down at their interlocked hands. “I hope you don’t mind that I waited until tonight to see you, I just didn’t want your father to see me.”

Tara gazed deeply into Willow emerald depths seemingly captivated; she could hardly believe that Willow had actually followed her here, with a ladder to her window.

As she continued to stare into Willow’s eyes in silence she knew what she felt for the other girl, she knew why she felt that way, and she knew it in her heart. “I love you, Willow.” Tara said suddenly, her blue eyes still locked onto green.

“I love you too.” Willow said back as she leaned over and grabbed Tara into yet another deep kiss. The two girls sat there, kissing by the opened widow, again and again and again. Willow had one hand on the ladder and the other hand buried inside Tara’s hair. “Not even your father can stop us.” Willow said between kisses.

“I guess he can’t.” Tara nodded, giving Willow a quick kiss before pulling away. Tara placed her hands tenderly on top of Willow’s, just staring at each other’s eyes in captivation, seeing into each other’s soul.

They stayed that way for the longest time, just staring, their hands interlocked tenderly.

Jarred, Buffy, and Xander looked up at the two girls, smiling softly at the sight…even Buffy.

Really romantic! :flower The whole Willow climbing up the ladder to Tara's room was a really nice touch...and I'm glad that Buffy and Willow are getting along a little better. I love the fact that it was Buffy that was helping steady the ladder, it shows that Buffy is trying at least.

Great update!
