Spreading Wings

Renee85

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Disclaimer: Characters not mine, never will be.
Summary: I’m not good with summaries, just read.
Sorry for the delay, things have been hectic and my mind has been somewhere else…Sorry if it's too short for you guys but I intend to update as frequently now so another update will be up soon.
Warning: Absolute and utter sap ahead, turn away if it’s too sappy for you but I write better sap than angst, so you better get used to it. :)
-----------------------------------
snuggle79: Thanks and hi too! Willow and Tara shouldn’t be afraid, from personal experience…being a lesbian in my old school wasn’t too big a deal, but that’s just my experience. Tara teaching Willow how to drive a car should be funny and I’ll write that part soon enough, let’s hope she doesn’t crash into anything. :)
littlecrazy80:
I’m glad you thought it was funny and thanks for the kind words, I initially wanted to write Willow and Tara feeling uncomfortable as they neared school but I have a thing about angst and our favorite girls, I can’t have them unhappy! So I caved and wrote a sweet and sappy turn of event. I can’t have it any other way… but who knows what will happen in the future.
sam darls: Glad you thought it was funny and sweet as well, I have a thing with sap and I’m not sure if I’m going overboard, realistically speaking…they probably would have felt uncomfortable but I couldn’t have that happen. :)
The Rose24:
Don’t worry; they won’t face too many problems. Willow and Tara’s relationship is going remarkably well and that’s how I like it. But in order to make a good story, I realized that there has to be some kind of conflict in there somewhere. But I might end up upping the sap as I always do.
Tempest Duer: I glad that you liked it, that’s all that really matters to me. I know it’s not the best fic in the world but it’s my second attempt at writing something. You learn from experience as they say and after this is done, I might write something even better.
--------------------------------------
Immediately continuing:
"You don't love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her." -Anon.
Willow and Tara continued walking; their hands joined together as they took those extra steps to the school. Tara’s heart was pounding as they neared the entrance of the school grounds; there were too many people there, too many unknown faces, too many of everything.
Tara slowly turned her head to her right, finding herself staring amorously into sea green depths, and suddenly all of her potential fears and uncertainties faded into the horizon, wholly and utterly forgotten.
It was mind-boggling that she had found someone that she had felt so comfortable with, it was astonishing that she had finally found that love she had been hoping and searching for, and it all happened that day after she had run off from home, into Jarred’s arms and ultimately into Willow’s. Tara grasped onto the redhead’s hands more securely, gently squeezing their warm palms together as they walked jointly as one.
Tara smiled a small smile as she glanced down at their interlocked hands, it felt right.
“This feels so…” Tara trailed off a bit, her voice low as her body shivered at the flowing sensation that was emanating through her slender fingertips. She searched her brain for a word that would give her feelings justice, she looked down at their hands, up to Willow, and down at their hands once again, smiling to herself a bit as she thought of the right word…the single solitary word that held every emotion and consciousness in her heart and in her soul. “Perfect.” She finally said as she slowly lifted her head.
“It is.” Willow smiled, staring at Tara’s azure depths once more; she seemed to be lost in it. “It really is, Tara.”
So dear to me
Always keep me company
Who needs to go outside
“Do you think I can kiss you…here?” Tara inquired, her face millimeters away from Willow’s face. The blonde took their joined hands and lifted it into the air, gently pressing Willow against the far wall behind her. “I’m kind of not caring about what other people think.”
I will be your silent bride
I can't take my eyes off you
Nothing ever needs to be said
“Do it.” Willow breathed out, her mouth open slightly as she breathed in and out in anticipation, her eyes glued on Tara’s full lips. Willow was lost in Tara’s eyes and mouth, all she wanted to do was kiss Tara right then and there and the blonde seemed to have the same ideas in her mind as well.
It didn’t matter that they were surrounded by thousands of students, it didn’t matter that they were right in the middle of everyone, they wanted to kiss each other damn it and they were going to do just that, nobody was going to stop them. “Kiss me, Tara.” Willow voiced lowly, she bit her lip and waited for Tara to do just that.
You send your message
Right into my head
You fill me up when I'm alone
Tara moved her face even closer, not looking at anyone other than Willow, not caring about anyone other than Willow. “I….” Tara started to say but faltered, swallowing her words. “You don’t care about what others will see?” the blonde questioned, lifting her unoccupied hand as she tucked it behind the redhead’s neck, pulling her closer. “They’ll see, Willow.”
So soothing is your monotone
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
“They’re already seeing now.” Willow declared delicately, her eyes never leaving its hold on Tara’s deep blue depths. Willow’s heart was pulsating with want, her soul screaming with passion, her body chilling with a deep sense of existence and devotion, a newfound sense of bravery and faith. “Let them see.” She breathed out, her words rolling off her tongue passionately. “Let them see it all.”
So maybe you're not as real as the others
But I choose you over all my past lovers
For they have come and they have gone
Tara’s slim digits dug deeper into Willow’s neck, her fingernails scraping into her skin sharply. She had the uttermost confidence in her, seemingly out of nowhere, and she wanted to take advantage of that to the fullest extent.
Her sapphire orbs staring deep into the other girl’s emerald green, it was the perfect moment for a kiss, it was the ideal moment for anything, anywhere. Tara bit her lower lip once before diving in, her lips meeting Willow’s passionately, it was a quick yet intensely loving kiss and it was meant merely for them and themselves, no one else. Anyone who wanted to watch…they were welcomed.
But I can always turn you on
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
“How’s that?” Tara asked as she finally pulled away from the redhead’s lips.
“The best kiss I’ve ever had.” Willow smiled, her slender palm lifting up as she began a gentle caress of the blonde’s soft cheek. “And I think doing it in front of everyone else makes it even more powerful, because I love you Tara and I never want to hide that.” She acknowledged in a whisper. “I don’t ever want to hide that.”
Tara couldn’t help but smile again, her cobalt depths luminous and radiant, utterly ecstatic. She let out a small and cheerful laugh, and leaned in for yet another kiss, unable to control herself.
“You’re utterly adorable, you know that?” the blonde planted a quick yet tender peck on the redhead’s lips once more. “I can’t believe we just did that in front of everyone.” She voiced in a whisper, her eyes never leaving those of Willow’s. “Makes you wonder what else we can do.”
“What’s more...” Willow declared softly, her own green depths engulfed within deep blue orbs. “No one even cares.” She stated plainly, a diminutive smile gracing her face. “No one has even lifted their heads.”
Tara frowned as she registered the redhead’s words, that was until Willow gently guided her face to her left, the palm of the other girl’s hands showing the blonde that no one around them seemed to care about the scene.
They were just another of the hundreds of couples who shared a few kisses at school, no big deal whatsoever and that all their worries an efforts at not hiding were really a waste because no one really cared anyway. “We’re just blending in the crowd, huh?” Tara grinned, relieved. “What were we even worried about?”
“I don’t know.” Willow sighed, her eyes gazing to her right. “But, I am kind of worried about them.” She stated, glancing at Buffy and Xander who were busy looking through their homeroom listings, the leather jackets still on their backs. “They’re trying way too hard and it’s kind of worrying me a bit.”
Tara laughed quietly, her blue eyes sparkling. “You know them more than I do…” Tara shook her head a bit in amusement. “Are they usually like this?”
“Pretty much all the time.” Willow smiled, leaning forward slightly so she could plant a small and quick kiss onto the other girl’s full lips, needing to feel that contact again, needing to kiss her once more before the school bell rang for their first homeroom class.
School was going to be a blast, she knew this, she couldn’t wait to spend the entire school year with Tara, Buffy, Xander and if Jarred was there in the end, encouraging and cheering them on at graduation, him as well. “I can’t wait to spend the year with you, I’ll be the best girlfriend ever.” Willow smiled.
“Yeah?”
“I’m going to hold your books for you and wait by your locker, carry your book bag on my other shoulder as I walk you to class.” Willow listed all the things she intended to do for Tara, all the things that a good girlfriend would be happy to carry out, every single day. “We can share out lunches together, steal a few kisses before class starts, and ask for permission to use the restroom at the same time so we could steal even more kisses…”
“That’s a long list.” Tara commented, her eyes glued to Willow’s sea green depths, seemingly lost in the circled orbs, the color of the greenest pasture. “You’ve been thinking about this, huh?”
“All my life.” The redhead avowed, her tone of voice so low that Tara had to strain to hear the soft words that were emanating from Willow’s throat, but her ears did register every single utterance that came out and she treasured every single vowel and vocalizations that she had disclosed.
Tara listened in silence, her heart pounding with want,
“I’ve been waiting for the day that I finally have someone in my arms that I could love, and we found ours so quickly.” Willow softly stated, their joined hands still interlocked in an affectionate embrace of fingertips, warmth and gentleness, a heated passion of tenderness. “It’s like out souls were waiting for each other to meet for all eternity and now that we have our souls never really wants to let go.”
“Love at first sight?” Tara softly inquired, the corner of her lips upturning into an undersized half smile. “Did you ever think it was true?”
“Not until I met you.” Willow lifted her head from her gaze at their entwined hands, slender digits locking together in a soft encirclement, squeezing affectionately. “I only thought that stuff like that only happened in the movies, on TV…I never would have guessed that little old me would ever be one of those people the books that you read about, Romeo and Juliet kind of love.”
“But with the happy ending?” Tara smiled again, she couldn’t help but. This was like a dream come true and every single part of her body knew it, her heart and her soul, her every bit of existence, the warm skin that touched Willow’s soft digits, the gooseflesh that had now sprouted, it all told her the same thing.
Willow just nodded her head, a happy ending indeed.
“Although, our parents seem to have come straight from the story.” Tara looked down a bit as she proclaimed the truth, there were still obstacles in their life and that would always be there until their families got a clue.
“It won’t end the same.” Willow shook her head lightly from side to side, adamant in her outlook, in life and everything in between. “I won’t let it end the same, I’m going to go straight to my house and tell my mom everything about you.” The redhead softly proclaimed. “And she’s just going to have to accept that I guess.”
“I don’t think I could do the same.” Tara stated in a whisper, her heart breaking at the thought that her mother would have loved Willow and that she would never have the chance to see them together, her mother would have loved the fact that this redhead was perfect for her, in every single way.
Tara looked up into the blue heavens above and her eyes gazed at the sapphire and ashen clouds in the sky, the outline of her mother’s sweet face was visible behind the colorless masses, a small half smile smiled back, a flash of blue eyes winked back at her, her mother was always there.
“If my mother were here…”
“She’s always here.” Willow affirmed simply, her eyes filled with adamancy, the soft palm of her hand lifting up to rest against Tara’s chest, over her beating heart, feeling the pulsating thump and throb of life, the feel of Tara’s every consciousness and being, the heart she longed to be entwined with forever.
“I bet she’s here right now.” The redhead declared as tenderly as possible, her voice filled with the utmost sincerity. “How can someone that great ever be gone?” she shook her head at the absurdity of it all. “She’s in here.” The redhead gently tapped at Tara’s chest. “And she’ll be there forever.”
“There’s someone else there too.” Tara lifted her head finally, needing to gaze intensely into emerald depths, the deep green color of the largest hill, her hand resting onto Willow’s, holding their palms steady over her beating heart. “It’s a new seat that I’ve been saving for the longest time and you’ve finally filled it, I only hope you don’t mind that the ride may be longer that you think.”
“The longer the better.” Willow smiled inside, her whole body filled with a sense of overwhelming passion and love. Everyone else around them seemed to fade away, the voices, the faces, and the sense of everyone who weren’t them, none of them mattered. “Where does our destination lead us?”
“Forward.” Tara stated simply, a matter of fact answer to a very hard question, but the response seemed to hold its own simplicity and its own truth.
"Forward." Willow nodded.
“It’s what we promised each other, right?” she attempted to make sure, needing to have the knowledge and assurance that their paths lead to the same place, that their lives held the same for each other, the same exact road but with different cars.
“You don’t know how much I’m hoping that we have a class together.” Willow said after a moment of comfortable silence, she seemed to forget where she was for the moment, all she was blue eyes and blonde hair, full oink lips and an adorable smile. “I don’t think that I’d be able to concentrate about anything else but you, I’m usually so good at school.”
“Well, why don’t we go check for our homeroom listing then?” Tara suggested, seemingly lost inside pea green depths, their hands were remarkably still interlocked, fingers entwined gently, the blonde leaned in again for another swift kiss, adoring the touch of their lips pressed against the other.
The crimson blood in their veins boiling in sudden warmth at the physical contact, lips against lips, palm against palm, heart against heart, and everything else in between.
“You have to help find the classrooms because I’d be lost otherwise.” Tara declared softly, her voice low.
“I’ll always find you.” The redhead declared in a whisper, her voice filled with utter sincerity and truth. “You’ll never be lost when I’m here, Tara.”
“I didn’t think I would be.” Tara smiled another half smile; her heart hadn’t allowed anything else.
Willow smiled back, grinning widely, eyes sparkling, heart pounding, palms sweating, everything was heightened.
The redhead couldn’t keep herself from moving her face closer for another kiss, but with everything that was said, with all that was in her heart and soul, the insides of her body filling with loving warmth, the kiss had to be deeper and longer than it ever was and is, five Mississippi, six Mississippi, seven Mississippi, eight.
Their lips met again and again and this time the whole crowd of students were staring, Xander and Buffy, even the kids they were looking at moments before, the kids who hadn’t cared, suddenly did.
Tara kissed Willow once more, a quick fleeting kiss that she tried to let end, this wasn’t the place for it, this wasn’t the time for it.
A bathroom stall at lunchtime, hidden kisses behind library bookcases dark in the corners of the dimly lit room, in the back of the school bus where the bus driver couldn’t see, hidden alleys of the hallway corridor between school bells and classes, not here, not now, not when they were in the process of an even deeper and breathtaking kiss, get a roominess kind of touches, adult time when they were barley that.
When Willow and Tara were through, they both turned their heads to their right and to their left, eveyone seemed to be staring.
Xander and Buffy were trying to hold in their amused chuckles, their lips tight in a straight line. They had witnessed the entire scence, sappiness and everyrhing else, but the love that shone through was undeniable and the sap turned to honest truth, and nothing like that can be bad.
"What, you never saw two lesbians kiss before?" Willow smiled slightly as she questioned the crowd, her hands still inside Tara's. "Well, you better get used to it." she stated softly, leaning on for another kiss.
The crowd said nothing some of them seemed amused, some seemed impressed, while others were unreadable, but all that didn't matter, none of it mattered. All that mattered was that they were together.
This was where they wanted to be, in each other's arms...everywhere and anywhere, at school and eventually at home, it would be a daily battle but they would get through it.
"We should really check our class listings." Willow said after a long moment, brushing off the crowd. "I want to see if we have a class together."
Tara just nodded, following Willow to the bulletin board.
I almost got scared there when Willow was asking Tara if she wanted to hold her hand. I was hoping that a fight wouldn't accure. And it didn't, so I say WAHOO!!! But, talk about making a statement. And everyone just smiled or went on with there business, priceless. Great fic, great update. Keep 'em comin' kay??? Take care... =)
