Oh Sass, that was just, aww..and Willow babble, and the Tara with her words making Willow speechless...oh, and the train tracks :grin ...I remember that episode, I'm here with everyone lookign around crying and all sad, and Willow, poor Willow...then I see AtS, and all is well and good and lookie, Willow's here all sad...have to admit, she's got an adorable pout.

great update :grin

Willow explaining where pancakes come from and Tara making Willow speechless was funny. the conversation between Willow and Tara about Willow's friendship with Buffy was sweet.

Quote:
Miss Kitty Fantastico was curled up on his chest, sleeping peacefully, her paws wrapped around his hand. Willow had no idea if Miss Kitty was protecting the hand, or had been attacking it earlier and thought it was dead, but it was cute nonetheless, and she stifled a giggle, lifting her eyes to Tara's face. Tara was clearly looking at Miss Kitty asleep on Giles, an expression of pure delight overtaking her features.

:rollin

Hee... that part had me laughing. I can just picture Miss Kitty with her paws like that, thinking his hand was dead, after having rabbit kicked it and bit it so many times. :lol Cats can be so adorable.

Loved the update, Sass. Thank you. It's sad that Tara has to live with all those memories for the rest of her life, about her family. I'm glad she has Willow though. And she was right, if anything had been different, she probably WOULDN'T have met Willow.

I loved the rendering Will speechless part. Hee... I can just picture her face as she stares at Tara, having nothing to say. That would be priceless.

Hope you can find time to write more soon. Looking forward to your next update, whenever that may be and the next part to your Vignettes series. Will there be an update there, soon?

Thanks, girl,

Sassette,

Thanx for the update, I loved AD and I am so pleased that you are writing this as a sequel.

This line brought a huge smile to my face

"She and Willow were together, and the rest of it could go jump in a lake".

It sums up W&T perfectly. Everything else although important is not as important as them being together.

Looking forward to reading more.

sass,

wonderful update--much cuteness for and from our girls which, as usual, you do so well. but more importantly, and uniquely, is the emotional note you strike by touching on two issues and points of insecurity from each of their histories, which not many writers (including those on the show) care, or take the time, to do.

i think that's called character development, but i could be wrong. i ain't no writin person. :grin

and you know, your other kittenfans give you full-on cheers in plaid skirts, with vats of pudding and stuff like that--well, i just can't compete there (not so good with pompoms and splits and stuff. mostly those make me sneeze and say ow). i can only...find you impressive. ;)

You know, I was always told the stork brought pancakes. Now I hear that those pancakes we think are merely laying on top of each other in a "short stack" are boinking like mad. And don't even get me started on the butter and syrup as, um, "aids".

lovely sleepy images. hee hee!

As awful as it is that Tara's family was the way they were, the bad she had to endure and eventually escape is what led her to Sunnydale. Everything happens for a reason. I love the way you explained Wills' and Buffy's friendship. The bond was made evident in earlier seasons, regardless of what would try to come between them, but season 6 completely lacked that (probably with the buffy-no-feel deal). Anywho, it's always nice to see that. And Tara...so observant and understanding. I just love them. W/T :love

BTW, where do pancakes come from, really? ;)

Long overdue replies

Postby Sassette » Tue Jul 30, 2002 9:01 pm

Okay, some of these are replies to replies about 3a, some 3b, but I'm just going to mix them up in an incomprehensible hodge-podge, because I can *G*

**Jennpurr: Heh ... thank you *G* I love mathy Willow, too ... really, we all pretty much fell for that shy, insecure geek-girl, because she was so smart, and so adorable, and so endearingly sweet ... is it any wonder that Tara fell, too?

**areslei: *G* Thanks ... and yeah, I know I thought of integrating math with smoochies and pancakes, but honestly? Only because I was thinking about Willow, and it seemed like something she would do - and, yeah, pretty much only Willow would do that *G* And God, I was so happy with the zoids line for Tara.

**darkmagicwillow: Huh.

**Miss1234Kitty: Heh ... you can go all English anytime you'd like *G* And yeah ... in a way, they've reverted to the season four and five cuteness, but that's mostly a result of the Hellishness - they're being all avoidy.

**Scout: Oh, I know what you mean ... and that's definitely something they're going to need to address.

**mollyig: LOL ... I use a calculator, like normal people *G* Well, for the factorials and the square roots. I did the rest of it in my head, then figured I should double-check on the calculator so I wouldn't look like an idiot *G*

**Karzia: Heh ... thank you *G* I'm really glad you liked it. And yes, smacking around someone who is defenseless isn't cool ... but I needed it to happen for various reasons which shall become apparent at a later time. Besides, Spike's tough - he can take it *G*

**jomarch: Yes, sadly, much less quality-time with the board *sigh* But thank you for the cheer *G* God, I love those *G*

**W.I.: Gosh, I hope you're feeling okay. Pain? That's not good. I'll be sending you "wellness" vibes, on the off-chance something happened I'm not aware of.

**WonderAnt: Heh ... that's the joy of going away for a month and a half. Sure, the withdrawals are tough, but the tons of fic here when you get back is so much fun *G*

**oneinten: I'm glad you liked AD - God knows I had a great time writing it *G*. And yes, the, uhhh, thing with the thing is pretty much a major plot point, and the likelihood of anyone catching that without having read the end of AD recently is fairly slim.

**Tulipp: Thank you *G* I'm so glad you like it ... and WillowBabble is so much fun to write *G* It's just so cute and she often gets so flustered and I just ... *sigh* Did I mention cute?

**mollyig: Oh, yeah, I have this whole "train of thought" analogy for Willow's Brain worked out ... her random subject changes are a result of hitting a junction, or she arrived at the station and changed trains. I have no idea where the dwarfs came from, though.

**SlayerTazz: Heh ... thank you for reading, and thanks for saying you liked it - I >so< love hearing that *G* I could listen to that over and over *G*

**NewRuthRising: Thank you! And is the spelling of 'dwarves' an English thing? I know it's commonly used in fantasy, but I believe that it was Tolkein who made it common ... so I was wondering if he invented it, or if it was an English thing. I actually considered using the 'dwarves' spelling instead of 'dwarfs' simply because it IS more common and more likely to be considered 'correct', but iirc, the Disney version used 'dwarfs'. *sheepish look* Sorry to get into a random spelling discussion, but I kind of find the whole thing interesting. *shrug*

**Puff: Heh ... thanks *G* I >so< loved that line *G* Is it wrong of me that I love my own lines? Like, all egocentric and self-indulgent? 'Cuz, honestly, I kind of crack myself up sometimes. *G*

**Scout: Y'know, I have no idea where I got that from, but I could just hear Tara calling him that, too. And yeah, that's kind of an important point. Just why did Willow bring Buffy back? There's the obvious answer, of course ... then the only-slightly-less-obvious- answer ... then the not-obvious-at-all answer ... and then, my favorite, the Oh-God-I-hope-it's-not-that answer. But I'm not saying which one is right *G*

**Miss1234Kitty: Y'know, I love how I always get worried about an update ("it doesn't have enough W/T", or "it's not long enough", or even "Damn - I didn't happen to take a buncha drugs, did I?") only to get the feedback and find out all y'all loved it. Thank you so much ... I'm really glad you liked it, and I'm really glad these quiet W/T moments are favorites - don't tell anyone, but they're my favorites, too *G*

**TX: *G* Thanks ... though I'm interested in hearing what you think the talk was about. Like it has been mentioned, you won't find out from the episode ... the only person who knows is me *G* Well, at least for LD, the only person who knows is me - other people get to write their own stories where something completely different happened. God, I love fanfiction.

**oneinten: The trains in my head are much like Willow's, only much more prone to crashes, causing me to stop seemingly at random mid-sentence sometimes when speaking. And thanks *G*

**tkheaven: Heh ... yes, yes she does - and thank you ... I'm glad you liked it *G*

**Grimaldi: I had a really good time with the dialogue this time around. I mean, I always have fun with it, or I wouldn't bother writing, but this was especially fun. I just love it when they make jokes - it seems to me like the only one who ever says anything funny on purpose is Xander, and no one ever laughs at his jokes. I just think a group of friends should laugh more.

**Jennpurr: Heh ... thanks *G* I rather liked the Miss Kitty description myself *G* And I wouldn't be so sure she would have never met Willow ... at least, here in the SassVerse, that was pretty inevitable. But they have no way of knowing that. I'm not sure when the next vignette will be - I kind of have a lot going on right now, and I'm working on coming up with some kind of rhythm in my juggling so I can get more writing time in.

**Nutty Girl: *G* Thanks ... I'm really glad you liked AD, and while I would've preferred to wait on writing LD until after summertime (God, I hate the sun *G*), I'm pretty happy with the start, and I'll continue on as often as possible.

**NoveltyAct: Character development? Yeah, that works for me. Or, perhaps, "continuity". On one level, I want to kind of bitch and moan about these things not being addressed on the show, but then I think to myself, "Self - what if you had to do this in 22 separate 44-minute blocks?" And then I realize that it doesn't really matter, because the only really important thing is that, even in 22 separate 44-minute blocks, I wouldn't have killed Tara. Which, of course, is one of the big reasons I love fanfiction in the first place. But thank you - I absolutely adore having a medium where I can do things like this update, and I can touch on these issues that are such a big part of the characters' psyches. Or is that psychi? ;)

**Autumn: Oh, no ... when two pancakes love each other very much, they go out into the garden and get their baby pancakes out from under a cabbage leaf.

**LQ: *G* Thanks ... I'm really glad you liked that ... it was the first visual that popped into my head when I pictured W and T walking downstairs.

**areslei: Thank you *G* I think Buffy and Willow's friendship is one of the great cornerstones of the show ... notice how the seasons where they were on the outs pretty much sucked? For me, one of the best episodes this year was AYW, solely for the Buffy and Willow interaction ... it was priceless! And pancakes are found under cabbage leaves. Seriously.

Postby VampNo12 » Tue Jul 30, 2002 11:37 pm

Sassette a lovely update! First I loved the scene W&T encountered with the gang (minus Buffy) asleep in the living room. Not only was the image cute (especially Miss Kitty curled on the chest of Giles), but I liked the feeling this scene conveys of serenity/contentment (ie W&T are enveloped in love, surrounded by "family").

Loved the conversation W&T shared in the kitchen. I thought it was poignant how Tara tried to explain Willow/Buffy's friendship (ie "...it just means you have someone who you can always count on- who'll always be your friend and always love you, unconditionally."), and how she appreciates/understands how important/vital their friendship is to the both of them. And I too thought it was interesting how Tara pondered if Angel's words spurned Willow on with Willow's need to resurrect Buffy.

Lastly, I loved Tara being able to render Willow speechless, with Tara admitting that she wouldn't change all the hardships she had to endure, because it led her to Willow. And I too loved the image of Willow processing her thoughts as "trains heading for a collision". Can't wait for the next part!
