Whoa! Lots of twists and turns.

Kendall is bad news, and it is even more than I thought. She has moved up to #1 on the list of suspects.

It also seems as if Aaron may not have killed Lilly afterall(This is a BIG maybe).

I knew the PCHers would be begging Weevil to come back, but it seems as if he is not going to return as the leader. I don't blame him one bit after the way they treat them. Could Weevil be turning over a new leaf? I am still not sure how I feel about the way he set Thumper up though.

The Fitzpatricks must be stopped!

Jackie, Jackie, Jackie. She seems to be changing for the better as well. She has been humbled by everything she has been going through. I like her and Wallace together because they make a cute couple. Wallace has helped in her transformation also.

Mac continues to impress me. I am glad her and Veronica make such a great team. Veronica doesn't have many female friends, and I am happy Veronica seems to be softening up a bit and allowing people to be her friend.

Veronica! What else can you say about her? She is definitely a good PI. I adore her.
Tara: Willow, I got so lost.
Willow: I found you. I will always find you.

Well, my only reservation about these couple of ep's would be that they are piling an awful lot of the investigating of the bus crash in at the end of the season after having VM pretty much ignore it for weeks at a time. Bad, writers. It does make for interesting times though doesn't it. Still don't have a good feeling for whodunit yet either, maybe I'll have to make a guess soon and see how it goes.

Meanwhile, Mac rules my universe, still don't care about Jackie and Wallace and hope she does go to the Sorbonne, loved the altrerna-prom, good to see Leo again. VM was heartbreakingly good at the end of this ep, I guess that's the end of her and Logan for a good long while. And I really appreciate that they have been giving Charisma more to do, she's doing a fine job.

I love Mac but DAMN, what the HELL was she doing with that bonehead Beaver? Jackie and Wallace, meh, I got over that quick. Wallace is a cheating, lying bastard so he really doesn't deserve to get any girl IMHO.

I was going to jump through the screen and strangle Veronica if she even hedged just a little about getting back with Logan. LET HIM BE. He's a loser, SOO bad for her and it's obvious the only ass he cares about is his own. I never once felt sorry for him. Ever. Veronica ca do so much better...I just can't see why she keeps going back to the liars, sadistic rich losers. *sigh*

I have to agree about Logan, he's an asshole, and I know I'm a lesbian and all, but he's not that cute.

And I love Mac soooo much! It kinda creeps me out how much I love her because I can remember seeing her in "When a Man Loves a Woman" and "Corrina, Corrina." Wouldn't it be great if the universe would smile upon us all and they would just hook her up with Veronica? Is it just me or do they flirt? Probably just wishful thinking and too much time spent on this board. :pride

I love Veronica Mars! It is my favorite show on television right now and I HOPE they decide to keep it for a third season on The CW. :pray

Logan is not going to change. Why does Veronica even think he will? I tell you one thing. She has really bad taste in men. Deputy Leo is right in front of her, and she goes straight to the loser. I can see he still has feelings for her. She is 18 now.

Jackie has grown on me. She has changed a lot from the beginning of the season, and Wallace has a big part in that. I like Wallace, and I always will. I miss his presence when he is gone. You have to admit that he is always there for Veronica.

I also adore Mac. She is already in twice as many eps as she was in last season. Maybe she will become a regular.

Looks like they are really going to cram a lot in the last few eps, until recently it never even entered my head Kendall might be even be incedentally involved in the bus crash let alone be among the prime suspects but now she's front-and-center in things. I hope Mac becomes a regular in season 3 (please let there be a season 3 :pray ) she complements Veronica perfectly.

On a side note, I'm glad they did a Veronica Mars card set and that Tina signed, she's one of my 3 favorites with Kristen Bell and Paula Marshall.

Not sure if everyone is aware but one reason Mac might not have been in a lot of eps this season is because of the actress' role on the HBO series "Big Love". She's friends with the daughter of the main character who happens to be the actress who played Lily the first season.

Excuse me, kittens...

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Aaron Echolls is acquitted of all charges!!!!!
1)Second Degree Murder
2)Statutory Rape
3)Attempted Murder

I am at a loss for words at this development.

Well, on to other things:
Wallace is my hero(well, next to Veronica, of course). I feel so sorry for him.

Good to see Mac again.

It seems as if Weevil will finish high school, but he is probably going to prison.

Poor Veronica. What is she going to do now? My heart goes out to her.

I can't wait until next week!

So are we supposed to believe that Woody did it now, or is that too obvious?

The trial scenes were horrifying. Even though celebrities often do get away with these things in real life, and defence lawyers often behave as badly as Aaron's lawyer did, it was still shocking to see. I'm sure Aaron will still get what he deserves, but not from the hands of the justice system.

Am I the only one who is really starting to like Gia? Hope Woody didn't take her along when he ran off.

No more Jackie and Wallace scenes. Prayer works, indeed. Wallace without her will be much more watchable.

Mac. Sigh. She's so great, but why do they have to show her still interested in Beaver?

I'm looking forward to next week, but a little sad too because it's the last one for a long time, maybe forever if we're really unlucky. Can't wait for the dvd.

Wow. I can't believe he got off on all charges. Well I figured he would but still... The prosecuter was terrible. And there is no way that Veronica's "STD" is admissible. That information is protected by HIPPAA and she would have to sign a release for anyone to even know about it. The defense laywers really knew how to twist the stories around, and it always helps to have tons of money to pay everyone else off.
Love love love Mac! I hope she's a regular next year! I'd be oh so happy!
I'm not going to even comment on my theories for the bus explosion because I have no clue how far offbase they are, but I do have a theory now, so it's getting better. I can't wait to see how they wrap it all up. And there had better be a third season or I will be a very pissed off kitten!!!

quote:
haven’t let out a sigh this loud since, well, the bottle-shop decided to stay open five minutes longer than usual on my 18th birthday.

“Veronica Mars”. It/she/the show will be back.

Or so says my friend Kristin over at E! Online. Ms Veitch got the down-and-dirty from some of the show’s troops who announced that the show looks like – despite reports to the contrary – it’s coming back.

"Don't worry. It's coming back”, says an insider.

Phew. My Bell will ring for another season. Hopefully. Looks like It.

Earlier rumours had “Mars” pegged for a soil-ridden hole. Apparently the ratings haven’t been too good for the show – that’s in America, of course, because the show doesn’t even friggin’ air here in Australia! – and as the show will moving to the CW network soon, some predicted it’ll be pushed aside in favour of some new product.

"I believe we're going to be back," VM executive producer Rob Thomas tells E!. "Everyone knows I put a $4,000 shower in my office, but I also kept the Veronica Mars writers an extra three weeks, and we actually have episodes one, two and three broken for next year. I'm that confident we'll be back, and we need to hit the ground running next year."

There’s a big change of direction planned for next season, says Thomas. "We're going to do away with the season-long mystery and, instead, go with three long mysteries. Our first mystery would be eight episodes long, and the nice thing about it is that we give the audience more jumping-in points."

Another change planned for next season involves making guest-star Tina Majorino (also currently co-starring on the funktastic HBO show “Big Love”) a series regular. Says Thomas, “We just adore her, and we're already planning episodes with her. We're going to try to make that happen, and if we don't, it's just because we don't have the money, because we love her."

The CW announces their line-up on May 18, and hopefully, if this news is anything to go by, “Veronica Mars” – which, by the way, airs its finale next week – will definitely be on it. Otherwise, I’ll strip to my Spidey undies, smother cream on my forehead and run naked through the lightning department of Bunnings Warehouse.

I apologize for taking so long to post, but I only just got to see the penultimate episode--the reason being my local UPN affiliate kept pre-empting the show for +*&^%#@ basketball games! :smash :mad

Anyway the acquittal of Aaron was indeed shocking but, as previous posters have commented, not totally unexpected given the "get-out-of-jail-free" cards that so many rich and famous people seem to feel entitled to in this country. I was actually more horrified that poor Keith had to find out about Veronica's, um, problem like that in court. :happy It is a fact that our "adversarial" judicial system encourages lawyers to use tactics of this nature. :mad

Great scenes with Mac teaching algebra to Eli:-). Unfortunately, it seems that graduating won't do him any good after the testimony of the two boys.

Felt so sorry for Wallace getting a "Dear John" letter to end his relationship.

I, too, can hardly wait for the finale (I hope it's not pre-empted!).

I feel confidant about a third season (the show's just too damn good for them not to renew it)--I also hope for more appearances by AH and CC :party

WOW! WOW! WOW!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!

Cassidy(Beaver) is the one who blows up the bus! He is the one who rapes Veronica and gives her Chlamydia! :rage He must have known he wasn't going to make it because he puts everything in Kendall's name when he starts the business. Maybe he felt sorry for her and wanted to take care of her in his own way. I 'd rather for him to get punished for what he does instead of him taking the easy way out by committing suicide though.

I feel so sorry for Mac. She really thought Beaver was her knight-in-shining-armor.

This really is a shocking twist!

Well, as for the rest of the ep:

Aaron Echolls is dead thanks to Duncan and Clarence Wiedman. He really gets what he deserves.

But... Why do the writers insist on putting Veronica and Logan together? I still dislike him.

Poor Wallace. Him and Jackie really seem to be over, but I am glad she makes the right decision after all.

I also hate that Sheriff Lamb arrests Weevil before he can get his diploma. It had to be awful for his grandmother to see that.

What a fucked up ep. It was honestly traumatic in many ways. I kind of liked Cassidy, but not anymore. I think this show is just going to get better and better. What's the deal with The CW? Is it really a "done deal?"

Dang, that rocked. I was hooked for the whole episode. The acting was excellent especially Kristin, Tina, Jason and Kyle. Woody=creepy! Loved Vinny in jail, that was funny. I officially detest Lamb. I could not believe he insisted on arresting Weevil at graduation and in front of his grandma. I was furious. I figured he would just to be an ass but still didn't change how heartless it was. I wanted to cry for Weevil.

I also hate Aaron, absolutely hate hate hate him. I don't know if I could have taken another Aaron/Kendall scene. I love Kendell but Aaron...eeh. I'm so glad CW and Duncan took care of him. "CW." "It's a done deal." I like the sounds of that. It'd better be a done deal.

Roof scene: WOW! I had been prompted toward Cassidy last week but it was still a horrible scene to watch. Kristin and Kyle were amazing. I was worried when Cassidy said Mac was in a safe place. I was really really worried. And Oh My God. He raped her! To hear him talk about it so smugly...grrr. I figured he must have when we found out that Woody had the clap but for him to confirm it so casually. He's worse than Dick. I lost my attempt at not crying with the attempted phone call to Keith. It just broke my heart to hear Veronica so broken down. I really didn't think they would kill Keith off like that but I was very concerned, especially when Logan was in the kitchen in the morning. By the way, love love love Logan! And excellent use of dream sequences for the episode, very nice work.

Poor Mac. She looked so scared and alone. "He took everything." I just wanted to give her a huge hug. I love Mac, so glad she's not dead. She really didn't know what she was getting into with Cassidy. Wow, that sucks.

I'm glad Jackie came clean with Wallace. I didn't expect her to have a kid but I really didn't think she was going to Paris for school stuff. I'm glad she's not just a rich spoiled girl after all. She's a working girl too. I do like her. Plus I'm glad Wallace didn't have to run off to Paris to have his heart broken.

So what could be in the briefcase that would make Keith leave Veronica at the gate? Whatever it is definatetly implies that Kendall will be back. yippee! That's all I have to say about that.

OH...Mah...Gawd...That was a truly edge-of-the-seat-experience.

I was truly distressed when Beaver blew up the plane...anyone seeing me would have laughed to hear me yell at the TV "NOOOOOOOOO!!!! NOT KEITH! ANYONE BUT KEITH!!". I was genuinely relieved to see him walk in the next morning >>whew<<.

But I agree with the previous poster: what could possibly have been in that briefcase???????

Well I've watched the ep twice now so I think I've absorbed most of it. I didn't realize it was Cassidy until the moment VM saw the cutline on the photo of the team. He was on my list of suspects though, which is something. I did expect what happened to Aaron though and it was no surprise that Duncan would arrange that. Is it bad that my only thought when Cassidy asked why he shouldn't jump was that he might hit someone? I wonder how Gia is doing, happily she didn't seem to be with Woody.

It was great to see Lily again, and nice of Amanda to take the time to do a cameo. I wonder how involved CC's character is in all of this, she did leave the room at a very opportune moment. I think that was a good wrap up to Jackie's story although it seems to me that they were selling her and her Dad as having a much better relationship than that earlier in the season.

Mac is great as usual, and I'm looking forward to seeing her every week next season. There is still no official pickup by the way, I think all that stuff from RT upthread is optomistic but it doesn't prove anything. I believe the upfront is May 19 or 20, that's when we'll know. Keep your fingers crossed.

The new CW network has announced its fall schedule and Veronica Mars made the cut for a season 3.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CW will launch as a brand-new network in mid-September, but its schedule will look awfully familiar to fans of WB and UPN. The network, which replaces both and is jointly owned by CBS Corp. and Warner Bros., is adding just one new comedy and one new drama for fall. Most of its schedule, which is being announced to advertisers today, will consist of shows already airing on WB and UPN, and most of them are expected to continue airing in their current time slots.

So WB's 'Gilmore Girls' will be paired with UPN's 'Veronica Mars' on Tuesdays, and UPN's top series, 'America's Next Top Model', will lead into WB's 'One Tree Hill' on Wednesday. UPN's wrestling will remain on Fridays. And WB's resurrected '7th Heaven', which was pronounced dead last month after a 10-season run, will return in its longtime Monday home ...

Left in the dust are WB's 'Everwood', 'Pepper Dennis', 'Modern Men', 'Bedford Diaries', 'What I Like About You', 'Twins', 'Living with Fran' and 'Related', and UPN's 'Eve', 'One on One', 'Half and Half', 'Cuts' and 'Love, Inc.' (UPN had seven comedies with largely black casts at the start of this season; CW will now have only four.)

The word I've seen is that the order next year is for 22 episodes, but that may be cut to 13 if the ratings don't improve. In the first half of this season that might have been depressing to me, but I thought the writing in the second half of the season spun wildly out of control.

Also, word is that next year will have more "mini-arcs" of a few episodes rather than season-long stories, something I also think might be a good idea. I didn't think they sustained the mysteries this year as well as last.

ALERT!! ALERT!! ALERT!!

According to my TV listings, "Veronica Mars" will be repeating tonight (Tuesday, 7/11, 8PM EDT) the episode "My Mother The Fiend", which features the return of Alyson Hannigan as Trina Echolls. An excellent episode, one should especially look out for:

1. AH deliberately doing "bad" acting when she takes over as coach of the Neptune High drama club. :lol and

2. The sublimely "catty" encounter between Trina and Kendall Casablancas (played by Charisma Carpenter)--some of the old BtVS magic is still there!! ;-)

Don't miss it if you haven't seen it!

Good news and bad news for Veronica Mars fans. Mac(Tina Majorino) will be a regular, :bounce :bounce but the network has only ordered 13 episodes so far.

Veronica Mars changes tack
By Colin Mahan - TV.com
July 20, 2006 at 01:48:00 PM | more stories by this author

Rob Thomas says it's make-or-break time for sleuth series; new season will feature more mystery arcs.

Mars creator Rob Thomas. LOS ANGELES--Veronica Mars has always relied on the kindness of networks. This season, she'll need something more.

The edgy mystery series has never fared well in the ratings, despite an ardent fan base that includes Kevin Smith, Joss Whedon, Stephen King, and a rabid gang of folks who went to great lengths trying to convince CW network boss Dawn Ostroff not to dump the show. This season, Mars is being paired with Gilmore Girls, and hopes are high that the popular former WB show will funnel viewers to the low-rated former UPN show.

With the CW ordering only 13 episodes for season three, Mars creator Rob Thomas said there is a sense that if the show doesn't perk up in the ratings, its luck might run out.

"I think we're in a make-or-break time now," he said. "I think we need to come in on this new time slot and do well."

Thomas, speaking this week in Pasadena, California, at the TV Critics Association press tour, admitted that season two of Mars was difficult to follow, even for regular viewers.

"I never want anyone to know what's going on," Thomas joked to the laughing crowd. "I think that was a problem with season two. Having two concurrent mysteries [produced] way too many red herrings."

Serialized dramas like Mars, ABC's Lost, and Fox's 24 run the risk of excluding people who don't catch on early. ABC said it will break Lost into two parts, with no repeats.

Thomas has a similar idea to keep potential viewers from feeling left out if they miss the beginning of Mars. Rather than focus on one overarching mystery for the entire season, with mini-mysteries each episode, there will be three mystery "blocks."

"Our first mystery is going to be nine episodes," Thomas said. "There will be no preemptions, no repeats in there. Our second mystery will be seven episodes, no preemptions or repeats. Our third will be six episodes, again with no preemptions or repeats. There will be more jumping-in points for the viewer."

Thomas caught himself.

"I say this like a man who is confident he'll get 22 episodes," he joked. "I have to just act like we are."

Thomas says he understand the plight of the TV viewer who feels shut out of a show's "buzz."

"As a fan of television, I heard the buzz on 24 and it was eight, nine episodes in and felt like I was too late to catch up, so I eventually caught up on DVD," he said. "And I think that's been a problem [with Veronica Mars] in the past--if we're in the middle of a season, the viewer can't catch up. That's something we're looking to correct in season three."

Thomas also revealed details about new characters and upcoming plot devlopment.

"Veronica is going to [local school] Hearst College," Thomas said. "Mac [Tina Majorino] will be a regular character, and she's going to Hearst. Wallace is going to Hearst. Logan is going to Hearst, and even Dick Casablancas--believe me, we are going to have to do some explaining about how he got into Hearst."

"We're introducing two new series regulars," he revealed. "One is named after the director of our pilot, Pizz, who will be Wallace's roommate, Stosh Piznarski. Then Mac will get a roommate named Parker who will be everything that Mac is not--bubbly, effervescent, and listens to a lot of Nellie Furtado. They won't hit it off right away."

Thomas said he wants to make sure the character of Veronica stays true to her roots.

"My fear with the character is never let her get too huggable, too cuddly, too warm," he said. "I tell the writers to write her like a porcupine."

Veronica Mars launches its third season on the CW, Tuesday, October 3.

Well every episode we get will be a gem, thinking back on season one with the cloud of cancellation over it, we would have counted ourselves lucky to get a whole second season and now at least half a season more. The overall mystery would indeed have been hard to follow if you don´t watch from the start or miss a few episodes, maybe a shorter arc will help the show, but I don´t think it really is necessary. Each episode had it´s own mystery as well, so I feel one can watch this show one episode at a time as well and still enjoy all that makes it great: top writing, great acting, wonderful humor. Great news about regular Mac as well of course. :D Thanks for posting this The Rose. :)

I am hoping since there are two networks combining, fans of the WB and UPN shows will catch on to Veronica Mars and atleast give it three full seasons. I may even go out on a limb and hope for the show to make it to syndication. :wink
