Chapter 27
The night air, crisp and harsh, pressed against their naked flesh, forcing them tight into each other’s arms. They hadn’t dressed for the bitter chill of night, only for the warmth of sunny explorations.
Yet the thought of shivering in the darkness of night dissolved, as their bodies awakened, bonding again with the eternal soulful connection.
“Willow, sweetie.”
The red head lifted her daughter. Struggling against the weight of the chain, moving them across the grass into the forest. The trees swallowed their forms masking them from sight. In the harsh space they felt no fear, their bodies attentive to the blonde.
“I can hear you. Please tell me where you are.” Tara ignored the thoughts racing through her mind. Were they hurt? What had happened? What scars would Abbey have? Had the Maclay men destroyed another Maclay woman? The thoughts escalated, but remaind hers, trapped in her aching heart.
“Tara baby,” she closed her eyes, recognizing the soft caress of her lover mingling through her soul. Abbey pressed into her embrace, feeling the heavenly sensation as the three points connected forming their sacred triangle.
The pause seemed like hours as the collision pounded through their essence, forcing a staggering shift. Willow pressed her back against the harsh grain of the forest tree, clinging to the intoxicating rush of her lover’s presence.
Tara moved out of the car, her body hazed in euphoria, unaware of her surroundings, oblivious to all things but her wife and child. She motioned Buffy into the driver’s seat.
The slayer fought her need to speak, struggling against the urge to know what was happening. She watched the blonde move in to touch the keys of the laptop.
“We were in a cabin, it’s surrounded by trees.” Willow paused drinking in the surroundings. Realizing for the first time that she had no knowledge of her location. Abbey shivered against the night air, burrowing into her mother for warmth.
“Mommy, we were brave.” Her tiny face glistened with pride, watching her mom nod at her thoughts.
“Oh Abbey, I know. You are always so brave.”
Abbey imagined Tara’s face; the light in her eyes seeping with pride. She’d seen it so often it felt like heaven. It moved through her like magic.
“How’s your mom?” Tara’s head melted into the soft crush of the seat, relaxing as the gentle energy reached the tip of every limb.
Tender soulful eyes stared lovingly at the red head, smiling at the comfort of the connection. “She’s scared, but I’m taking care of her.” Tiny arms wrapped tight around her mom, squeezing close for added emphasis.
“That’s my girl.”
Buffy interrupted Tara’s smile filled thoughts. “And they would be where? Where exactly am I going?”
“Shh, I’m not sure yet Buffy.”
The Slayer pressed her palms into the steering wheel, tired of being quieted, frustrated by her inability to communicate with her friend. “Well, then I’ll just drive. Forward, not turning…you’ll let me know…if I should go left or right or something?”
Tara glanced over, only half aware of the conversation. “Yes Buffy, when I know where to turn, you’ll know.” She listened closely to her wife, making note, relaying the conversation to the slayer. “Going to my father’s house, that’s the wrong way. There are no trees around the house.”
“Tara,” the red head called to her wife. “Baby do you have my computer?” She powered the PDA, activating the tracking device in Abbey’s backpack.
“Yes Will, its right here.” Tara shuffled the tablet in her lap, waiting for her instructions, breathing a sigh of relief at her wife’s proficiency.
“Turn it on and I’ll give you the new password.”
“It’s on and I… I already entered the password.” The flush of passion blazed across her face, returning her thoughts to the moment of creation, the breathtaking caresses that spurred the delicious words.
“You did?” Willow squeezed the tip of her tongue between her teeth clenching lightly with delight, remembering the colorful events that prompted the new password. Distracted by the thoughts of passion, the red head drifted further from the fear and deeper into the soul of her lover. “So then it made a lasting impression?”
“Well not as lasting as you.”
Willow looked down at her abs. “Well it left an impression, but…”
Tara interrupted, “Maybe we should have this conversation in person?”
“Oh, right…um together…making more permanent impressions.”
Abbey giggled at the loving exchange, her heart melting at their tender words. She reached her tiny fingers up toward her mother’s face tenderly wiping the small falling tear.
Willow stopped to catch her breath. Her mind focused on the stretch of chain painfully tugging at her ankle. In the same instant realizing her magic was no longer blocked.
“Dissolvo.” In the same moment the chains surrounding her ankle fell to the ground, fracturing the arc of the lock in a mist of smoke. Willow gently lowered her daughter to the ground, kicking herself free of the snaking chain.
“Good job mom.” Her petite limbs thrust around her mother’s waist knocking the breath from her lungs.
“Thanks Ab, now what do you say we get out of here?”
Willow contacted her wife explaining the details of the software program. Pointing out every necessary entry to activate the search mode on the tracking device sewn inside their daughter’s bag.
“Will, it’s working. I can see the bleeping. I mean the spot on the screen. It knows exactly where you are.” Tara recognized the place on the map. She’d watched her wife program the diagrams from her mother’s will. “Sweetie, I know where you are.”
Buffy followed the highway back into town randomly selecting streets. She waited for word from the blonde, watching for change in her expression or manner. The activation of the tracking device brought the car to a halt. “You found them.”
“Yes Buffy, I did. Let’s go get them.” Tara pointed to the spot on the city map directing the slayer to the mountain road leading out of town.
“Tara, baby…we can’t wait here in the woods. I’ve picked up the signal…” Willow paused realizing where Donnie had taken them. Fighting the urge to share with her lover the details of their abduction. Knowing the fear she would invoke in the frightened child beside her.
Without hesitation their minds paved a path, directing them to the same destination. Willow knelt beside her daughter drawing one deep long breath. “We have to go Abbey.”
She lifted the child onto her back, feeling her tuck into the curves of her body. Together they followed the GPS through the woods.
Willow felt the edge of her skirt snag across the briar thicket, feeling the sharp sting of the thorns penetrating her tender skin. She forced herself forward focusing all her energy on finding the country road.
The twisting patches of earth wound deep into the woods, leading them closer and closer to safety. Abbey bounced her body adjusting herself against her mother’s back. “Mom, it’s very dark. Are we almost there?”
Willow stopped, resting against the rough twisting bark of an ancient oak. The limbs stretched over them, feathering out like an eagle’s wings protective and strong, covering them with the thick sturdy branches. She lowered the child for a moment checking her legs for scrapes or scratches.
“We’re almost there Abbey girl.” Willow held the digital map in her hand, pointing at their location, showing her daughter where they were going. Abbey held it in her hand climbing back into her mother’s arms. Willow pulled the backpack off her daughter, slipping it over her shoulder. She could sense they were getting close.
Willow mingled between the trees, hiding from view, masking their presence. “Tara, I can see the highway. I think I see shoe rock.”
“Boot rock sweetie.” Tara smiled. “It’s boot rock and that’s good. Buffy and I are less than fifteen minutes away.”
“Be careful Baby.” Willow followed the tire tracks through the trees, remembering every twist and turn they’d driven.
**********~
“So what are you running from Brenda?” Anya stepped from behind Xander, crossing her arms in front of her chest. Her body stopped rigid before them. “Or are you running TO someone?” Her voice lingered over the accusation, burying the tired woman against the grass.
Brenda’s eyes searched for refuge, clinging to the hope that Tara was there. But she wasn’t. She was alone to suffer the wrath of Anya. “Are you going to hurt me?”
“Me?” Anya laughed. “Not me, I’m just going to stand here looking threatening.”
Brenda shrugged. “Oh, well it’s working.”
Anya beamed with excitement, clapping her hands wildly. “Really?” Immediately realizing she lost her rigid stance, she crossed her arms again.
“Oh really Ahn, it was very good.” Xander rubbed the small of her back encouraging her ferocious nature.
Anya turned, tilting her head coyly, celebrating her personal victory. “It’s a thing.”
Brenda scurried to her feet. Her body prepared for the worst, expecting to be punished for her actions. Her heart raced with fear, the throbbing pulse pounding against every nerve. Her throat tightened around the slow painful swallow of saliva, fighting back the urge to beg for mercy. The trembling in her hands moved slowly through her body, inch by inch fighting against consciousness.
Her eyes fluttered closed before blackening into darkness. Her body fell hard to the earth, tumbling along the edge of the grass, scraping her cheek against the buckled sidewalk.
Xander dropped to the ground, checking her body for a pulse.
“I killed her. She dropped dead with fear.” Anya fought the instinct to smile, caught between victory and defeat. “I didn’t kill her did I?”
***************~
“Buffy we’re almost there.” Tara closed the cover to the laptop stretching over the seat to put it in the bag. “Turn just after the rock that looks like a boot.” Her hand pointed out the window directing the slayer to the waiting ladies.
“Boot…cute.” Buffy bobbed her head, playfully rhyming back and forth. Feeling the tension ease with each passing mile, knowing that Willow and Abbey had found their way to safety.
Buffy drove the car through the tight patch of trees, following the route Tara had driven. She neared the end of the trail turning to watch the blonde jump from the slow moving jeep.
Before a whisper passed between them, Willow stepped from the mouth of the cave. Her slender form calling her lover home. Their eyes locked on the essence of love and no force of nature ever born or created would divide them again.
Buffy watched the two collide in a twirling cyclone of passion.
Their hands met, their arms met, their bodies mingled into a tightly twisting being of flesh.
The slayer rested against the steering wheel, taking in the moment of wonder, watching a display of love she'd ached for all her life.
Willow’s hands traveled wildly over the length of her lover's sides, foraging for comfort, passionately remembering every favorite place.
“Baby…” Her fingers searched the face of her lover; hungry, ravenous, wandering. "Oh goddess." Her breathing deepened, rasping, staggered. Her mind begged for more hands, a thousand spindly fingers for touching, remembering, devouring.
“Willow.” Their faces moved in slowly, surrendering every fear, tenderly feeling the warmth of sweet softness. Their lips melted together, closing the gap of longing, quenching the thirst that only the soft wet tangling could satisify.
Tara’s hands covered her lover’s, pressing the soft flesh deep against her skin. The touch; pounding like a pulse, beating like a drum playing a sweet rhythm of life. Lulling her spirit like the gentlest melody.
Abbey stood at the opening, swept in the awe of their love, staring with complete pleasure, at their reunion. Slowly she stepped beside them, wrapping herself around the tender embrace. Tara paused, feeling the tiny arms wrapping around them, moving her eyes to the innocent child.
“Mommy.”
Tara scooped her daughter from the ground, connecting once more, the three points of love.
TBC
Did that satisify??
