*BV fumbles around in medical bag looking for something to fix Urnie*Oh I do hope you didn't injure yourself too badly, cause this fic just keeps getting better.

The love notes, so sweet and thoughtful.

The exhilaration of the wakening of the senses and feeling Tara. Loved it.

Awwwwwwwwwwww Urn (Is your real name Sharon? I think I read it in a reply somewhere) that update was a real cliffie but soooooo beautiful! Sorry it's taken so long for me to reply properly, but I really really really love this fic!

Donnie deserves a good smacking. From a demon. With a large object (minds OUT of gutters please kittens). Can we resurrect Olaf the Troll and set him lose on Donny?

Yay they are finally out of the cabin!!!

I´ve got a problem with the last part. Is Tara there or was it just the mind-talking thing?

Urn of Osiris: Great update, and once again I say that you are EVIL, but I Loved how they can now feel each other pressence again. I got a little teary-eyed at the bookmark, she'll always be in Willow and Abbey's heart. I'm dying for Tara and Buffy to find them. I can't wait to read more.

Yay, I’m so happy. Me happy, you a sweetie. ;)D

You got me so hooked; it’s not even funny. Ok it is, but I’m just really appreciative for all your hard work on this Fic. It was so sweet to see Dawn reflect on how much she appreciated Tara for what she did for her. I’m sure Tara knows too, it would be so nice to have her hear it though. That kind of stuff is always nice to hear.

I’m so proud of Abbey, how strong and brave she’s been through this whole ordeal. She’s a tough Lil Cookie.

Willow/Tara both the perfect illustration of strength and devotion never fails to leave me truly inspired. I guess that can really and should be credited to the author too. The determination to find each other again is so intense and inspiring.

Thank you for the updates and I continue to look forward to reading your story.

Good Day all!!!

Here's what you've been waiting for. I hope is doesn't disappoint. Oh you should be able to figure out the password from this update. I have to admit getting e-mails and IM's has been the most fun. Unfortunately, no one has figured it out yet. The answer is in this thread. For those of you that have re-read the fic, it's in here. For those of you that just don't care here's the next update.

Enjoy.

Chapter 27

The night air, crisp and harsh, pressed against their naked flesh, forcing them tight into each other’s arms. They hadn’t dressed for the bitter chill of night, only for the warmth of sunny explorations.

Yet the thought of shivering in the darkness of night dissolved, as their bodies awakened, bonding again with the eternal soulful connection.

“Willow, sweetie.”

The red head lifted her daughter. Struggling against the weight of the chain, moving them across the grass into the forest. The trees swallowed their forms masking them from sight. In the harsh space they felt no fear, their bodies attentive to the blonde.

“I can hear you. Please tell me where you are.” Tara ignored the thoughts racing through her mind. Were they hurt? What had happened? What scars would Abbey have? Had the Maclay men destroyed another Maclay woman? The thoughts escalated, but remaind hers, trapped in her aching heart.

“Tara baby,” she closed her eyes, recognizing the soft caress of her lover mingling through her soul. Abbey pressed into her embrace, feeling the heavenly sensation as the three points connected forming their sacred triangle.

The pause seemed like hours as the collision pounded through their essence, forcing a staggering shift. Willow pressed her back against the harsh grain of the forest tree, clinging to the intoxicating rush of her lover’s presence.

Tara moved out of the car, her body hazed in euphoria, unaware of her surroundings, oblivious to all things but her wife and child. She motioned Buffy into the driver’s seat.

The slayer fought her need to speak, struggling against the urge to know what was happening. She watched the blonde move in to touch the keys of the laptop.

“We were in a cabin, it’s surrounded by trees.” Willow paused drinking in the surroundings. Realizing for the first time that she had no knowledge of her location. Abbey shivered against the night air, burrowing into her mother for warmth.

“Mommy, we were brave.” Her tiny face glistened with pride, watching her mom nod at her thoughts.

“Oh Abbey, I know. You are always so brave.”

Abbey imagined Tara’s face; the light in her eyes seeping with pride. She’d seen it so often it felt like heaven. It moved through her like magic.

“How’s your mom?” Tara’s head melted into the soft crush of the seat, relaxing as the gentle energy reached the tip of every limb.

Tender soulful eyes stared lovingly at the red head, smiling at the comfort of the connection. “She’s scared, but I’m taking care of her.” Tiny arms wrapped tight around her mom, squeezing close for added emphasis.

“That’s my girl.”

Buffy interrupted Tara’s smile filled thoughts. “And they would be where? Where exactly am I going?”

“Shh, I’m not sure yet Buffy.”

The Slayer pressed her palms into the steering wheel, tired of being quieted, frustrated by her inability to communicate with her friend. “Well, then I’ll just drive. Forward, not turning…you’ll let me know…if I should go left or right or something?”

Tara glanced over, only half aware of the conversation. “Yes Buffy, when I know where to turn, you’ll know.” She listened closely to her wife, making note, relaying the conversation to the slayer. “Going to my father’s house, that’s the wrong way. There are no trees around the house.”

“Tara,” the red head called to her wife. “Baby do you have my computer?” She powered the PDA, activating the tracking device in Abbey’s backpack.

“Yes Will, its right here.” Tara shuffled the tablet in her lap, waiting for her instructions, breathing a sigh of relief at her wife’s proficiency.

“Turn it on and I’ll give you the new password.”

“It’s on and I… I already entered the password.” The flush of passion blazed across her face, returning her thoughts to the moment of creation, the breathtaking caresses that spurred the delicious words.

“You did?” Willow squeezed the tip of her tongue between her teeth clenching lightly with delight, remembering the colorful events that prompted the new password. Distracted by the thoughts of passion, the red head drifted further from the fear and deeper into the soul of her lover. “So then it made a lasting impression?”

“Well not as lasting as you.”

Willow looked down at her abs. “Well it left an impression, but…”

Tara interrupted, “Maybe we should have this conversation in person?”

“Oh, right…um together…making more permanent impressions.”

Abbey giggled at the loving exchange, her heart melting at their tender words. She reached her tiny fingers up toward her mother’s face tenderly wiping the small falling tear.

Willow stopped to catch her breath. Her mind focused on the stretch of chain painfully tugging at her ankle. In the same instant realizing her magic was no longer blocked.

“Dissolvo.” In the same moment the chains surrounding her ankle fell to the ground, fracturing the arc of the lock in a mist of smoke. Willow gently lowered her daughter to the ground, kicking herself free of the snaking chain.

“Good job mom.” Her petite limbs thrust around her mother’s waist knocking the breath from her lungs.

“Thanks Ab, now what do you say we get out of here?”

Willow contacted her wife explaining the details of the software program. Pointing out every necessary entry to activate the search mode on the tracking device sewn inside their daughter’s bag.

“Will, it’s working. I can see the bleeping. I mean the spot on the screen. It knows exactly where you are.” Tara recognized the place on the map. She’d watched her wife program the diagrams from her mother’s will. “Sweetie, I know where you are.”

Buffy followed the highway back into town randomly selecting streets. She waited for word from the blonde, watching for change in her expression or manner. The activation of the tracking device brought the car to a halt. “You found them.”

“Yes Buffy, I did. Let’s go get them.” Tara pointed to the spot on the city map directing the slayer to the mountain road leading out of town.

“Tara, baby…we can’t wait here in the woods. I’ve picked up the signal…” Willow paused realizing where Donnie had taken them. Fighting the urge to share with her lover the details of their abduction. Knowing the fear she would invoke in the frightened child beside her.

Without hesitation their minds paved a path, directing them to the same destination. Willow knelt beside her daughter drawing one deep long breath. “We have to go Abbey.”

She lifted the child onto her back, feeling her tuck into the curves of her body. Together they followed the GPS through the woods.

Willow felt the edge of her skirt snag across the briar thicket, feeling the sharp sting of the thorns penetrating her tender skin. She forced herself forward focusing all her energy on finding the country road.

The twisting patches of earth wound deep into the woods, leading them closer and closer to safety. Abbey bounced her body adjusting herself against her mother’s back. “Mom, it’s very dark. Are we almost there?”

Willow stopped, resting against the rough twisting bark of an ancient oak. The limbs stretched over them, feathering out like an eagle’s wings protective and strong, covering them with the thick sturdy branches. She lowered the child for a moment checking her legs for scrapes or scratches.

“We’re almost there Abbey girl.” Willow held the digital map in her hand, pointing at their location, showing her daughter where they were going. Abbey held it in her hand climbing back into her mother’s arms. Willow pulled the backpack off her daughter, slipping it over her shoulder. She could sense they were getting close.

Willow mingled between the trees, hiding from view, masking their presence. “Tara, I can see the highway. I think I see shoe rock.”

“Boot rock sweetie.” Tara smiled. “It’s boot rock and that’s good. Buffy and I are less than fifteen minutes away.”

“Be careful Baby.” Willow followed the tire tracks through the trees, remembering every twist and turn they’d driven.

**********~

“So what are you running from Brenda?” Anya stepped from behind Xander, crossing her arms in front of her chest. Her body stopped rigid before them. “Or are you running TO someone?” Her voice lingered over the accusation, burying the tired woman against the grass.

Brenda’s eyes searched for refuge, clinging to the hope that Tara was there. But she wasn’t. She was alone to suffer the wrath of Anya. “Are you going to hurt me?”

“Me?” Anya laughed. “Not me, I’m just going to stand here looking threatening.”

Brenda shrugged. “Oh, well it’s working.”

Anya beamed with excitement, clapping her hands wildly. “Really?” Immediately realizing she lost her rigid stance, she crossed her arms again.

“Oh really Ahn, it was very good.” Xander rubbed the small of her back encouraging her ferocious nature.

Anya turned, tilting her head coyly, celebrating her personal victory. “It’s a thing.”

Brenda scurried to her feet. Her body prepared for the worst, expecting to be punished for her actions. Her heart raced with fear, the throbbing pulse pounding against every nerve. Her throat tightened around the slow painful swallow of saliva, fighting back the urge to beg for mercy. The trembling in her hands moved slowly through her body, inch by inch fighting against consciousness.

Her eyes fluttered closed before blackening into darkness. Her body fell hard to the earth, tumbling along the edge of the grass, scraping her cheek against the buckled sidewalk.

Xander dropped to the ground, checking her body for a pulse.

“I killed her. She dropped dead with fear.” Anya fought the instinct to smile, caught between victory and defeat. “I didn’t kill her did I?”

***************~

“Buffy we’re almost there.” Tara closed the cover to the laptop stretching over the seat to put it in the bag. “Turn just after the rock that looks like a boot.” Her hand pointed out the window directing the slayer to the waiting ladies.

“Boot…cute.” Buffy bobbed her head, playfully rhyming back and forth. Feeling the tension ease with each passing mile, knowing that Willow and Abbey had found their way to safety.

Buffy drove the car through the tight patch of trees, following the route Tara had driven. She neared the end of the trail turning to watch the blonde jump from the slow moving jeep.

Before a whisper passed between them, Willow stepped from the mouth of the cave. Her slender form calling her lover home. Their eyes locked on the essence of love and no force of nature ever born or created would divide them again.

Buffy watched the two collide in a twirling cyclone of passion.

Their hands met, their arms met, their bodies mingled into a tightly twisting being of flesh.

The slayer rested against the steering wheel, taking in the moment of wonder, watching a display of love she'd ached for all her life.

Willow’s hands traveled wildly over the length of her lover's sides, foraging for comfort, passionately remembering every favorite place.

“Baby…” Her fingers searched the face of her lover; hungry, ravenous, wandering. "Oh goddess." Her breathing deepened, rasping, staggered. Her mind begged for more hands, a thousand spindly fingers for touching, remembering, devouring.

“Willow.” Their faces moved in slowly, surrendering every fear, tenderly feeling the warmth of sweet softness. Their lips melted together, closing the gap of longing, quenching the thirst that only the soft wet tangling could satisify.

Tara’s hands covered her lover’s, pressing the soft flesh deep against her skin. The touch; pounding like a pulse, beating like a drum playing a sweet rhythm of life. Lulling her spirit like the gentlest melody.

Abbey stood at the opening, swept in the awe of their love, staring with complete pleasure, at their reunion. Slowly she stepped beside them, wrapping herself around the tender embrace. Tara paused, feeling the tiny arms wrapping around them, moving her eyes to the innocent child.

“Mommy.”

Tara scooped her daughter from the ground, connecting once more, the three points of love.

TBC

Did that satisify??

Yes it did :)

I couldn't help but wonder why Willow's PDA could so easily pick up Tara's signal while Tara needed an entire laptop for that. Nifty PDA's btw, gimme one :) .

So that cabin is close to 'boot rock'... how interesting.

Xander and Anya should stop wasting their time harrassing Brenda, go talk to Donnie already. Shouldn't be too difficult to scare Donnie, heh...volunteers please ?

Heh, Donnie is in soooo much trouble now and he has nothing left to bargain with.

Much with the satisfaction here, Urn. Yay, they found them.

I loved the way you described the reunion. It was very heart-warming.

Anya is too funny. Sure, it's kind of on the downside that it was Brenda who passed out, but hey, at least she still has the scary, menacing touch, ya know? Good for her.

Now, I'm looking forward to some Donnie's-ass-kicking. Is that anywhere in the line-up for things to come? I'm hoping.

Woo and Hoo!

Got to admit I'm really enjoying how you're managing to keep the suspence so well here. I mean, I was obviously fairly sure that they would (hopefully) reunite but I was still so engrossed and unsure whether it was truly going to happen. I kept fretting that Donnie was going to appear from behind a tree or something!! So kudos for keeping me on the edge of my seat and of course for the reunion. Although in that I had a slight ache for Buffy and her craving for love.

Tara22 I have a slight penguin fettish so love Oliver!

thanks for the great update Urn.

Hey Urn,

Great story so far. I have loved every bit of it. Keep up the good work. And what is that password......the suspence is killing me. I am thinking its willowhand.

Willow leaned forward and addressed Tara's breasts. “She wants me to stop. And I guess I really have to.” She gave each nipple a final squeeze. “Later, okay?”

I wonder how Brenda will explain herself..it had better be good.. we are dealing with high strung scoobies.

Poor Buffy.....watching an example of the kind of love she's always wanted but never had. I think that's the hardest part of a love like Willow and Tara's...everyone sees it and wishes for one of their own...and not everyone finds theirs.

Re: Fic: Pathways and Patterns (Sequel to This Look of Love)

Postby Urn of Osiris » Mon Nov 25, 2002 8:27 pm

My sincerest apologies for not responding sooner. The debate to post chapters or to reply is always so tough. Although there is a bit of CBW goodness it the end here.

Grimmy…….. Not the magical PDA’s sorry. I will reveal the cause. Hang in there. At this point they all suspect Donnie and Willow will confirm it. At this point most of the questions have been answered. As far as the cabin goes, the info in on the way. Well the PDA technology is all Willow’s doing. She’s the genius. As far as her ability to activate it, I’m going with genius programming and programmer. Yep that’s my story, any more then that you’ll have to create in your own mind. The cabin is close….yes. I see where you are heading and you are very wise in your mystery solutions. :sh don’t tell.

WOW! The medical assistance. I’m feeling better already

CHEL!!!……you dear sweet girl. All the hugs, make me feel so special. Sorry about the cliffs but drama is important. :grin <=== (I know what you are thinking)

You sweet darling….your second reply is just as long as my chapter. GO YOU! Oh had to break out the cow print tissues. Dear. Happy tears though! Free yes, but not out of danger. The snake is still slithering around her somewhere.

There’s more for Boris to shake his booty at. Thanks sweetie. And Oliver? I like him too. Kinda grows on ya.

Slayer Sydney…….Sorry about all the cliffs, drama is vital to the story. Heart racing and all. But you are enjoying??? Oh ok I concede the password thing is evil, and I’ve been working quickly to reveal it, but these things take time. Patience….

LC……..Steph, what more can I say to you. I am so warm from the kind words you send. That what I have written means so much to you, pleases me so. Thanks for taking the time to share your feelings with me. I’m honored.

Molly……..Well Donnie has no clue who Tara is. That’ll come back to get him. I wanted Dawn to be more than a whiny brat. It’s important that she recognize the role Tara has played in her life. Strong nurturing women should receive the same in return.

So glad you enjoyed the reunion. I was actually feeling relief in writing it.

Sonya……..Like I mentioned above. Dawn has been wasted on the show. Here she’s strong because she’s surrounded by strength. Not ignoring the marvelous example she’s grown up with. The rest, well let us wait and see.

Obviously fairly sure that they would hopefully……..WOW that’s confidence :lol Don’t fret, they are together now, it’s all ok. I ache for Buffy too. Perhaps one day she’ll find her soulmate too. Just not in this fic. All the lonin is for W/T. :grin

BV…………OH, more medical assistance. WONDERFUL! Thanks, I’m glad you felt the exhilaration Hope the reunion hits you the same. Are you telling me that you didn’t know they were headed to the cave. I just thought it would make that perfect place even more wonderful.

Gem………..Yes, Sharon is fine, or Urn..whichever. Thank you. I’m very pleased you like the updates. Never apologize for not replying. Just enjoy the read, that’s all that really matters to me. Ummm I’m pretty certain Olaf isn’t going to make an appearance. Sorry. But the pretty cave will be back. :)

Lil’ c………I hope I cleared up that it was mind talk. Sorry.

Ash………. What? You don’t like cliffs? Well the reunion has come, and I hope you enjoyed it. And from the look of your response the moment was worth the wait. Well we have a lot of loose ends to tie before that get out of town, I hope you can handle more chapters?

Lonewolf………Thank you, I think. I really don’t intend evil cliffs. I suppose this one was a bit unkind. Hopefully worth it though. Sigh The cave, glad you liked it. I just thought it would be so wonderful to end up in that spectacular place.

As far as Brenda goes, an explanation is coming soon.

Patty………Thanks, Happiness is very good! Oh hooked is good. I really wanted to give Dawn an honest connection to Patrick. She could understand how love can be healing even to a very wounded soul. This experience will bring them together. Abbey is blessed with two strong and tender parents. How could she be anything less. I’m humbled by your words. Thank you so much.

Fifigirl11……….Oh nice guess, but sadly not it. It was realy nice to see you in chat and I’m honored your first post was to offer a guess. :)

Sarah………Satisfaction, sigh wonderful that you feel it too. Seems like it took forever to get there. Glad you enjoyed Anya, she really is my favorite character after the Maclay-Rosenburg’s of course. ;) Donnie butt kicking is on the menu, patience my dear.

Scout……….Donnie there would have been cool, but they need time to plan a confrontation, Ooops don’t want to reveal too much. ;) Happy you enjoyed the read.

Hermitstull……..Thank you, I’m so happy you are enjoying the fic. It has been so much fun to write. Extreme opposites as far as angst levels go, but it seems you are enjoying both equally? The next update is in the can waiting for editing. Thanks again for reading and for the lovely feedback.

Wolflord…….Thank you! The password is about to be revealed. Sorry about the suspense, it was very unintentional to leave you all hanging on it. Who knew? Good guess with Willow hand…but sadly that isn’t it. It is in this thread and if you’ve been keeping up with Crayon Breaky Willow, the side fic here….there is a connection…. ………that’s a clue…….if you were looking for one.

Lea………Thank you, glad to see you gave it a go. From most of the replies, I’m working it out tooo slow. :grin

Rai………feeling better now? Thanks, it makes me smile knowing you find such pleasure in my story. In a smack down mood huh? Well let’s just say Buffy’s idea of the three fold rule, fits my needs.

Deixs……They found each other, my guess is that you and the bouncy guys liked it. :) Oh and, Brenda isn’t dead.

CINDI!!!!!!!!!!!!….. I love to write Anya, she has that sharp finely honed edge to her. Yes, Donnie is in for big trouble. But I’m not giving you any more sneak peeks. Yes Brenda is complicated. Buffy, I know it was hard, but she appreciates real love. Not that sick twisted display we were forced to choke down on the show. Sorry, I fell into rant mode. **Growl** must be you , bringing it out in me. :grin and you with the sniffles. I think if you page up a bit, Chelbel has some cow print tissues, I’m sure she’ll share.

Kat……..Welcome, I feel like I know you already. Your dearest love has blessed me with the honor of knowing you. You are fortunate and I bow to that kind of love. So stand up girl! Hope she warned you that this isn’t angst free. Well if not, consider this a warning. Not that it lacks the proper amount of glorious W/T moments. Plus Abbey….added bonus. Enjoy!

Well there you go. WOW I really should reply more often. I feel like such a slacker. I wish I could blame it on intense writing, but I can not. It’s the chat……..I’m addicted and you all must suffer for my addiction.

So here’s a bit of CBW to compensate.

Crayon Breaky Willow Part 15 (lucky number I think)

“Yellow?” Tara watched her lover dip the candied wax into the steaming water of the bath. Tiny amber ringlets spread across the pulsing surface. Willow arched toward her love, guiding her tenderly against the porcelain tub.

“Lemon.” The red head pressed her tongue between her teeth, hungry to taste the flavor, yearning to feel the sweet sensation of Tara against her lips. She slipped over her wife, planting both legs along her hungry thighs.

Tara watched her drop the crayon into the steaming water.

“Oh what a shame it slipped right out of my fingers.” A wicked grin spread across her face. Her brow arched, revealing her sensual plan. “Guess I’ll have to send a search party in for it. What do you think?” Her spindly fingers slipped along the delicate edge of Tara’s knee, slowly, teasingly edging toward her flaming desire.

“I think there is very little possibility….” Yearning swallowed her words as she felt her lover move inside. Pressing her hips with exploding force. “that your crayon…”

Willow smiled, watching her arch into the warmth of her touch. She mocked the loss of cognitive thought. “That my crayon what… baby?” She placed the tip of the dripping crayon against the sweet skin of her wife.

“Oh goddess Will, don’t stop.”

The candied edge trailed across her abs, skimming lightly between her breasts. She traced the outer edge of the nipple frowning at the lack of color. “No color. No permanent marks.” The soft edge of the crayon snapped between her fingers. “No crayon.”

Tara took the pieces, throwing them onto the floor. “Now you can use both hands.”

The red head followed her command, taking hold of her lover with a slow, passionate, talented touch. She tenderly savored the dripping flavor, “Better than lemon.”

Well there you go. Questions? comments?

edited because I can't believe my spelling is so awful.

You little devil you, 15...definitely a lucky number, perhaps 16 will be even better?? And where did you say we could get some of these crayons?? :lol

I had a feeling, because they were in the woods, that the cave might "come"(forgive me:grin ) into play, but when it finally did, it was just so perfect. Loved it.

OK, so here it is folks, Tuesday night and I'm certain you'd rather be reading.

This is my attempt at keeping the you all happy.

Rating: R for this chapter

Feedback: Go for it. This is for all of you not me.

Archive: Copy, cut, paste I don’t care it’s all for pens anyway. No one in my house wants to read it.

Copyright Disclaimer: Joss and Company owns all the characters. But they are alive and happy here. So that's all I need to say. Mostly because I want to be nice.

For those of you that haven't read Crayon Breaky Willow I thought it might be helpful to offer it here. Somehow I've tangled this little fic into P & P. I apologize if it causes confusion but those searching for the password will find it in there.

And now on to the story.

Chapter 28

The hollow sound of a solid pounding fist, woke Dawn from her quiet rest. Her hand slipped off the back of the sleeping child. She’d drifted off, exhausted from worry. She shifted gently from the bed, amazed at what he could sleep through.

She looked through the hole in her door. The hallway in front vacant, she listened to the repeated knocking. She pounced over to the adjoining room, searching for the source of the sound.

“Yes?” She answered through the solid barrier, slipping the safety bar across the metal latch.

“I’ve got a letter for Tara Maclay.” His hand slipped over the doorknob twisting sharply in both directions. The shaking sound forced Dawn backward. Startled by the rattling.

“Maclay Rosenberg! Can you just slip it under the door?” Dawn felt the tension in his hesitation.

“It’s ok really, it’s from her brother.”

The final word sent Dawn further from the outer door. “In that case, you can definitely slide it under.” She moved into the adjoining room staring at the sleeping child. “I’m not opening the door.” Her thoughts locked on the idea that it was trick.

Nervously, under her breath she panicked. “He knows Patrick is here.” The fear swallowed her, like a helpless worm writhing in the beak of a bird…defenseless; she scanned the room for anything, preferably something finely honed. As she spun into the other room she noticed the envelope wedged beneath the door.

Her trembling fingers grasped the edge tugging it firmly into the room. She flipped it around in her hand, wondering what message he could possibly want to send.

************~

“Got any of that for me?”

“Aunt Buffy!” Abigail jumped from her mother’s embrace racing across the ground. The leaves rustled and twigs snapped as each small foot romped toward the slayer. Buffy stumbled back as the tiny blonde pounded into her arms. Round and round they twirled, dancing through the light of the breaking dawn.

“How are you Abbey?”

“Mom and me, we had an adventure.” It didn’t take long for Buffy to realize she’d launched the child into information overload. “We used the beep thing in my science bag, and we walked through the forest, which was very dark, but we couldn’t use the light because we didn’t want anyone to see us, then did I tell you it was very dark? Yes I did, well it was and then we found the boot rock, Mom called it a shoe, and made Mommy laugh, and then we got to the cave and it is very pretty inside and then you and Mommy got here and it was scary but me and Mom had a big adventure.”

Buffy watched Abbey draw breath waiting for another lungful of exposition. She quivered against the arms of the slayer. “Are you cold?”

Willow and Tara turned sharply, watching the tiny blonde nod against her shivering.

Buffy gave a knowing glance, motioning to her parents that she was going to care for the child. She carried her to the car, sitting her gently on the passenger’s back seat.

“Here Ab, put this on. Your mommy brought it for you.”

She smiled at the sight of her favorite sweat suit. She pulled the soft pink top over her head running the palm of her hand slowly over the black and white kitten decorating the front. Together they pulled the sweatpants over her legs, covering her with the soft cottony warmth.

Tara carried the science bag over to the car. “Willow and I need to talk, maybe you and Abbey can…?”

The slayer interrupted the next words. “I got her Tara, go take care of her.” They turned toward the red head. Willow struggled against her concern, forcing a smile for Abbey. The blonde slipped a hand to the slayer’s shoulder.

“Thanks Buffy.”

“Go!”

She kissed her daughter on the forehead. “You helped your mom out of there Ab. Without you we’d have been lost.”

Her daughter smiled, pride filling her face, shadowing every fear in her mind. “We make a good team Mommy.” Her tiny thumb lifted, exaggerating the point.

“Yes we do.” She squeezed her tightly. “I brought that to keep you warm. You alright now?”

“Yes Mommy.” Abbey looked innocently at Tara. “I think Mom might need something warm too.”

Tara gave Buffy a knowing glance. “I’ll take care to warm her up.” She turned walking toward her lover.

Slowly, tenderly, they went into the cave.

Tara turned sharply as they entered, pressing her lover hard against the wall of rock. Her hands tangled between the spindly fingers, lifting slowly up beside her head. Her mouth pushed hard onto her lips, wanting in that moment to enter her completely. Needing with every breath to feel the strength that only their passion could create.

“Will, oh goddess…I’m sorry.” Her head slumped toward the redhead's chest, resting her forehead against the racing heart.

“Sorry?” Willow’s brow furrowed, confusion filling her mind. “For throwing me against the wall?”

“Willow.” The blonde fought the smile forming on her face, feeling her lover’s leg slip between her own.

“Yesssss baby…” She wiggled her brow, smiling just enough to melt the fear. Opening just enough to allow her lover to press into the warmth she’d needed. “You have nothing to apologize for.”

Willow tangled into Tara, gracefully dancing her around, shifting their positions until she found herself holding the blonde against the ragged granite wall.

“Sweetie…please! Please let me…” The soft sweet lips of her wife centered breathlessly over her own, trapping every word between the dance of tongues.

She tilted against the motion of her hip, relaxing into the measured steady rocking. Slowly the redhead trailed soft passionate kisses along the rounded edge of her chin. Wanting with every tender touch to taste her sweet yearning.

“I…won’t…let…” Willow paused.

The vibration of her lover’s moan, moving through her throat; melting Willow hard against the blonde. “You won’t… take the blame…”

The last thread of resolve dissolved. Talented spindly fingers found their way up Tara’s loose top. Every thought escaping their minds as they evaporated into the mists of devotion.

Slowly, Willow’s hands inched the blouse up over Tara’s body, the sight of her silky flesh, forcing pause. Blaze red hair followed ruby lips into the delicate cavity of her glistening abs.

Willow collapsed to her knees; slipping her hands down the voluptuous curves of her lover’s hips. Her soul tasted the want. Her mind drank the intoxicating scent of desire. “Now Tara… please.”

Longing faded against the hard cold stone. Tara fell to the ground, kneeling into her wife’s body. Willow pulled her down, guiding Tara over her. She offered herself as comfort, unbuttoning her top. “I need you Baby.”

“Will, oh goddess I need you too.” Tara’s finger trailed along the edge of buttons, slowly, space by space splitting the open seam. The faded mark from the sweet red crayon still evident on her chest, inch by inch she traced her way toward the pale crimson heart around her naval. Tara’s lips lingered over the softness of her abs. “Heavenly… body…”

Willow’s staggered moans rasped with each tender kiss. “Always yours.”

Tara unbuttoned the band of the redhead’s skirt slipping the seam over her hips. She pulled back, noticing the missing piece of material. “Your skirt.”

“What?” Willow looked down at the rumpled fabric. “Snagged, it’s… o..kay…” Her body pulsed against the motion, feeling her wife’s fingers slip down the outer edge of her thighs. The heat from hungry need, dripping from her throbbing core.

Tara listened to the call of her desire, signaling her destination. Her tongue trailed slowly across her lips, marking a course. Her head dropped slowly toward the alabaster flesh. Tenderly her tongue trailed across the bone of her hip, leaving a glistening trace in it’s wake.

Tara kissed around her sweet desire, drinking in the glistening cascade of love's heavenly wine; each tantalizing breath filling her heart, each tantalizing sip quenching love’s thirst, each writhing motion pounding the heartbeat of the quickening earth.

Willow erupted into a thundering quake of ecstasy, driving her ache into the warm flesh of Tara’s passion. Tenderly the blonde kissed her sweet love, softly… slowly, riding the wave of heavenly rapture.

The redhead slipped her hand across her abs, pulling her lover toward her lips. “Kiss me.”

“I just did.” A half smile pressed from cheek forcing her eye into a playful wink. “Your kisses never tasted so wonderful.”

“So then your body must need the same attention?” Willow rolled to her side slipping her wife tightly beside her. Her lips fell over Tara’s, drinking in the shared passion.

“My body is fine.” Her mouth devoured the bony neckline. “I just needed to feel you surround me.”

Willow locked her arms tightly around the blonde. Holding her. The moment stopped the beat of time, resonating over and over through their souls. Tara felt the pace of her heart slow, a steady throbbing rhythm.

Tears fell over the naked breast of the redhead, the blonde’s body shaking a panicked beat against her form. “Tara?”

“I’m okay, really. I just…I know it wasn’t that long, but …I.” She hesitated, knowing her next words would shatter the moment. “Did he hurt you?”

“Baby NO!” Willow slipped her hands around Tara’s cheeks, pulling her gaze directly into her own. “I’m safe. Whatever he had planned, he didn’t. I mean there wasn’t time.”

“Will, what happened?”

She moved from the floor, resting her back against the wall of the cave. “Let me try to explain.”

***********~

“Aunt Buffy?”

The Slayer held the tiny blonde in her lap, staring out the tailgate of the jeep. “Yes Abbey girl?”

Her petite fingers slipped into the bundled strands of cascading hair. “Can you tell me about the sunrise?”

“What do you want to know Abbey?”

“I want to know if it shines the same for everyone?”

“Well I think so Abbey.” The slayer wrenched her neck looking into the tiny green eyes. “Why?”

“I just wanted to make sure that the sunrise was this beautiful for them too.”
