Ok, my first would be the Beach Boys when I was but a small child (well, a child anyway) and my two older sisters took me. And they were good actually, not the sad travesty they would be now.
Best ever? I could never pick just one. Here's a few that I won't forget: King Sunny Ade (many in audience in african tribal costume coming to the stage to paste money to his sweating forehead in tribute, and he deserved it too), Black Uhuru (the original lineup plus Sly and Robbie- stunning), The Clash (twice- once with Gang Of Four), The Buzzcocks, Patti Smith, Penetration, both the Dils and Rank And File (both led by the Kinman brothers, Rank And File also with Alejandro Escovedo),the Screamers and the Contractions and the Jam,more recently; Lucinda Williams, Neko Case, and many many others. Next up for me is the Donnas (for the third time) and then Tegan and Sara (for the second).
And for W/T? Well, they would have loved Lillith Fair (i went all three years) but since that's no longer an option - well, i'd like to picture them smiling and bouncing with joy at a Tegan and Sara concert. So I will.
