It's a Truly and Forever Weekend, MKF

Postby Rally » Sat Jun 15, 2002 7:01 am

Ok, so I am sitting here racking my brain to think up some brilliant weekend thread, as there is none that I can find...
but ya know, brain drain right now.

Joss has taken Tara away from the future of the show, but he can't wipe out Willow and Tara's past. So what W/T moment will you keep with you forever, that most defines Willow and Tara for you. Also what moments will Willow keep with her going forward.

I would say the scene in The Body, where Tara shows just how much she knows both Willow and how to give her what she needs emotionally.

Or maybe all of the scenes where Tara's been brain-sucked... they show Willow's devotion to her. :)

It's going to come as a shocker to everyone that I am going to pick a moment from [i:2a098af3e9] Family[/i:2a098af3e9]. What? You haven't heard I like that episode. And I think the reason I love that episode the very most is the end. From the second that music kicks in as Tara gives that ever so lovely lopsided grin that tells us she is happy. Amazingly happy and in love through that delightful birthday party montage that just makes me smile like a fool every single time. Even without the Willow in fishnets part. But the end. The dance. That song which I have totally blocked being about TV. They are so lovely and in love that it makes me float too.

Oh I gushed. There you have it. I'm officially coming out as a big sappy romantic dufus. I hope you all are happy.

I think I'm going to have to plump for [b:920fb797d2] Tough Love[/b:920fb797d2]. And here's where my reputation goes down the shitter as well. Sigh. Anyway...like I give a crap.

The end of the episode. Yep, the applesauce scene. Yes, the brainsucked Tara one. It's just that right then; right there; that's Willow's commitment to the relationship. I cried for hours over that one. Days, even. And I probably still would although I haven't watched it in a long long time. Too painful. It's just that there's Willow and there's Tara and there's head kissing and there's pledging and everything and it's just [b:920fb797d2] so[/b:920fb797d2] good. So good.

Ah yes, life is always more fun until you realise that people whom you considered friends are, in fact, telling lies about you behind your back and you've actually become a pariah in your own friendship groups.

I know nothing of this, naturally.

Mine is the tummy rubbing line from The Body re:Willow's had too much nog. It's just hillarious how Tara gets all embarassed after she realizes she has used TMI (too much info).

And I thought you just killed people Rally. But you know Super Bitch would be a great second name.

Honeyz, I'm home !

Kitten chorus: How was your day, KJ ?

KJ: Well, oral exam -> English literature, before you all start grinning ;) Today, I actually got the date right. Was the first one to talk about Shakespeare. Drew the "Love in 'Measure for Measure'"-card. Ah, could be worse, though I'd rather have talked about "Love between Willow and Tara". Anyway, after getting tired of reading my notes for American literature (city-theme stood central) I'd wrecked my nerves in the other professor's office. Babbled my way out of it.

Question for you guys: these daily threads, or weekend-threads for that matter: they focus on a particular topic, I've noticed, and apparently it's allowed to go a bit off-topic, real life-mode, if I'm not mistaken... Is that right ? So sorry, otherwise... Mods, feel free to erase this rambling, if considered boring. I think I'm kinda drunk (or getting it), after a couple glasses of white wine... That's what you get when you've slept 2 and 5 hours in two night and drink alcohol right after... Monday, Victorian poetry...

Anyway, memorable W/T-moments... Good god, there are so many... Right now, I'm seeing Tara, wearing her baseballshirt (I'm developping a fethish, I think) looking all shy and smiley through her cute fluffy blonde locks... Might be just the wine... Don't think so, though... Adorable sweetie...

I always thought that every true W/T fan is sappy and soft and has a big heart full of love.. you know, because Willow and Tara are appealing to people who believe in true love.. or something..

Sure, deep down... Hey, I love the Xena/Gabrielle sweetness, but I didn't mind Xe yelling "Kill 'm all !" once and a while... Or Gab getting into her protective "screw this Way of Love, I'm gonna save my sweetheart by slaying some Romans"-mode... Same with W/T: I was with Will in vengeance-stance, for Tara... "Heart of Darkness" You can be nice, friendly, warm/kind-hearted... but turn bitchy all the same, if they touch your loved ones... Life's a bitch: hey, I can live with that, it's unjustified Death I got a probblem with... /delete angry rant when necessary/

There are so many beautiful W/T moments and they all will stay with me forever, but one of my most favorite is from 'New Moon Rising'. The last scene when Willow comes back to Tara's room to, well, bascially tell her she :love s her. That whole scene, with the darkness and the light from the Extra Flamey candle........Oh my...great scene!!! I just wish they would have kept going after Tara blew out the candle :grin but, then again.........Who doesn't?? ;)

I think Willow will remember all of their moments together for the rest of her life. Some that stand out are probably just the little moments.....the ones that mean so much. Like cuddled together while watching tv or holding hands while walking together. And, she will remember how they broke up, but then she'll think of the amazing night that Tara came back to her. And it was like she never really left, and really, she didn't. She was always with her...everywhere she went. And that's how it will be now. Tara can never leave Willow. They are both soooo much a part of each other, that it makes that impossible. They will always be together.

"...and when they said that you were dead, I hold on..." (Heather Nova - Maybe an angel)

"I miss the little things... I miss everything..." e.g. Tara fidgeting with Willow's hair, when she was sitting behind her laptop.

I think that the moment that makes me cry, or at least close to it since I've never really cried at a movie or show [ except when Tara died of course ]
Is the moment when Willow chose Tara over Oz. The scene with the candle, and that we all know it was their first kiss gets me every time.

I think that will always be with Will. That she made the right choice, even though since we sometimes know how her mind will work, she'll regret it at times since it may have been the death of Tara, but she'll know in her heart that it was the right decision.
As for the scene's that left me feeling all warm and squishy?
The Body- When Tara reveals TMI, and of course the kiss from that episode.
OMWF- Despite the angst, the good parts were well, good!
Hush- the hand holding, when they realize there is more to each other then meets the eye.

[/quote:daea45f8f7] While I agree that is a lovely lovely moment, I don't think we can say we all know it was their first kiss, because personally I'm convinced the kissing started long before that and by [i:daea45f8f7] Who Are You?[/i:daea45f8f7] they were involved sexually as even the commentary track seems to indicate. I see NMR as rather Willow's declaration of love.

Autumn's right, there's no way that was their first kiss. In the DVD commentary, it's made clear that the Flaming O was their first time having sex, so they had kissed way before that, my guess for first kiss would be TIIT.

But the Extra Flamey scene is one of the sweetest ever.

:lol Autumn, yeah I can imagine that they had quite a few kisses that night, a least a few hundred ;)

Oh for those who still think W/T never "did anything" before New Moon Rising, check out the Buffy DVD Thread, and you'll see a little clip that Fontaine made, it's from the DVD commentary of Who Are You, Joss makes it crystal clear has to when W/T consummated their relationship...the Flaming O :blush

The scene I would have to choose would be two scenes in Tough Love. The first being when Willow is holding Tara's hand in the hospital and the Doctor asks "Is she your sister", and Willow lovingly replies "She is my everything". Then the last scene at the end of the episode, which just signifies their deep commitment "in sickness and in health".

As for things Willow will remember to keep her going I would pick the end of NMR when she finally admitted her love out-loud to Tara, Family when after everything Tara had to endure in her past Willow/scoobies are truly her family now, and the happy moments in Bargaining where Willow, Tara, and Dawn are a family ("pancakes go in bellies").
