Disclaimer: Don't own the girls. Don't own Nintendo, Sony, nor Microsoft.
Note: For the fic's sake, let's say that the 3 main next-gen systems, Wii, PS3, and 360, along with the PSP and DS aren't out yet. Also I've made it so the girls have a nice little amount of money. <_< ^_^
Chapter One: A Sunnydale E3?
They had their parents to thank, if it hadn’t been for their intervention, the girls all knew they would have continued to hide their games. However, now that it was in the open, the girls regularly took part in Pokemon tournaments with one another. It was a good way to pass the time, not to mention, show off their newly captured Pokemon. During this week Willow and Tara sat on the floor in the living room of the Rosenberg home. Ira and Shelia watched them from the couch, still having to wonder when the girls had gotten into games.
Letting out a gleeful cry, Tara quickly stood from the floor and did a happy dance all over the room as Willow pouted. The redhead’s Pikachu had just lost to Tara’s Articuno, and how it happened, Willow didn’t know. The poor little guy was laying on the ground, completely knocked out. It was at the moment Tara thrust her hips towards Willow that the front door swung open, and Dawn ran in with everyone else right behind her. Joyce scolding the younger girl for not knocking first.
The young brunette hurried into the living room, never once paying attention to Tara’s hip thrusting happy dance, “Oh my God!” Dawn shouted, Amy squealing in agreement a second later, “You’re not gonna believe this!!”
“What?” Willow quickly rose from the floor, a grin on her face.
The Maclay’s, Mrs. Summers, and Mrs. Madison all sat in various places around the room, none knowing what the teen was going on about. “Don’t look at us,” Lori finally said with a shrug towards Shelia, “we don’t know.”
With her hip-thrusting-happy-dance interrupted, Tara managed to make her way towards Willow, still dancing, “What is it, Dawnie?”
“What are you doing!?” Buffy finally asked, having seen the hip thrusting dance.
A sigh escaped Willow’s lips, “Her Articuno beat my Pikachu.”
Not wanting to be interrupted once more, Dawn quickly thrust the newest issue of Sweet Games Weekly out in front of them, “Look!”
“You all know what E3 is, right?” Amy asked, and received nods from the girls, really, who didn’t know what the Electronic Entertainment Expo was. It just happened to be the biggest trade show for computer and video games in the world, and with an attendance of over sixty thousand people, yeah, hard not to know… Well, besides their parents, they were giving the girls a blank stare, “Well, look at this!”
Taking the magazine from the teen’s hand, Willow began reading aloud, “This year’s E3 was spectacular, brand-spanking new systems and games were on display. The new systems included the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, and not to mention the PSP and Nintendo DS.” At the side several pictures of said systems were printed.
“Now, for those of you who missed E3 this year, we have great news. No, E3 will not be held again, however, there will be another game expo, and it will be held in Sunnydale California.” Willow’s eyes went wide as she read the date, “That’s this weekend!” her eyes scanned the rest of the article, “Tickets go on sale Wednesday at City Hall for fifty dollars, get yours today, and don’t miss out on another game showing!”
“What’s the rest of it say?!” Amy hopped up and down, she and Dawn had read it, but she wanted to hear it again, it was like sweet music to her ears.
Once more, looking down at the article, Willow read, “In addition to the first ever Sunnydale Game Expo, several lucky gamers will have a chance to win every system on display, and five games of their choice. The count is five of each main system, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii. Twenty Nintendo DS and Twenty PSP. Remember gamers, register and good luck!”
Dawn giggled, “You know what this means right? We can all put our names in for the systems, and hopefully try to win them!”
Ira groaned, and lowered his head, “What’s wrong?” Donald Maclay asked, and was confused when the other man held his hand up, and began slowly counting down.
Five… four… three… two… one… “Mom! Dad!” as soon as Ira lowered his hand, six voice’s shouted in unison as a flock of girls surrounded the adults. “Enough!” Joyce shouted, quieting the girls, “You can go, but only if you have the money to pay for it.”
That was all the girls needed to hear, having done odd jobs for Giles after school, and on weekends, they were completely set. “Wait,” Faith called, “they said tickets go on sale Wednesday, right? Well, today is Tuesday!” Once that had been said, a whirlwind of dust rose up as the girls fled from the Rosenberg home, and down the street.
Mrs. Madison blinked, “Where are they going?!”
Rolling her eyes, Mrs. Maclay leaned back in the chair she currently sat in, and sighed, “Did you ever go to a concert when you were a teen?” When the other parents nodded she quirked her eyebrows, “Remember how you got the tickets?” Groans and sighs answered her question, “Thought so, they’re gonna camp out all night.”
Down at City Hall the six girls came to a halt, only two others were standing in a roped off area with a sign that said “Game Expo Tickets Here”. A girl with short dark brown hair with a Resident Evil shirt stood behind a young dark haired girl.
Quickly running up to the area, Willow slowed and saw the little girl peek out from the side of the other girl’s legs the redhead grinned at the little Japanese girl, “Hey.”
The little girl bowed, “Konnichi wa.”
“Umm…”
The other person in line grinned as she turned, “She said good afternoon. Miyuki, you shouldn’t do that.”
“But Kid-san, its sooo fun!”
“Maybe so, but how would you like it if someone spoke to you in another language you couldn’t understand?”
Miyuki ducked her head, “Gomen… Sorry, ma’am.”
Looking up from the smaller girl, “Well, everyone calls me Kid,” the girl stuck her hand out, “anyway, gamers huh?”
“You betcha!” Willow laughed as she introduced herself and the others, “Think it will be a long night?”
Kid shook her head, “Nope, not when you have one of these,” she held up an SP, “and the Pokemon games.” she watched as the other girls grinned and pulled out their own SP’s, “Hey, one of you wanna hook up?” Kid asked, holding up an SP connector, “Usually I’ll challenge Miyuki, but she always beats me… and I don’t know how. Must be ‘cause she’s Japanese.”
The little girl slapped Kid’s leg, “Hey! I’m telling Kairi!”
As Miyuki pouted, Tara kneeled down in front of her, “Would you like to play me?” she asked, and saw the girl’s face light up.
“Yeah!”
Two hours and many battles later, Tara gaped at her screen, she had just lost for the umpteenth time! How was it possible that a little girl could beat her skills? Having lost to Faith several times, Buffy glanced over Tara’s shoulder, “What’s wrong?” then she saw the screen, “Oh, never mind.” The blonde slowly backed up, there was no way she would challenge the Japanese girl, “Line’s grown.”
Faith glanced behind her, Buffy was right, there was a line at least a half mile long now, “Um, what’s with the weird hair?”
“Huh?” Willow turned from her game, and blinked, “Hair? I see more than just hair. What’s going on, a costume party?”
With a laugh, Kid rolled her eyes, “Kinda figured this would happen.” she said catching the attention of the group, “You get a lot of gamers who dress up as their favorite character.”
“Okay…” Dawn stared at a person with a tank on their back, and what looked like an oxygen mask on their face- and holding a funny looking Star Trek gun, “What’s that suppose to be?”
Leaning over, Kid scanned the growing line, “Oh, that’s a Grunt. It’s an enemy from Halo.. Hmm… I see several from Final Fantasy, Cloud, Squall, Rinoa… a very bad looking Ifrit and a Moogle. Oh, there’s the Master Chief, from Halo.”
“Will they all look like that?” Amy asked, sure she was a gamer, but she had no desire to dress up like a character.
A shrug, “Depends on the gamer. Some like to show off while others just like to play the games.”
As night descended upon the ever growing line, conversations grew louder, and arguments began to heat up. A Cloud and a Squall got into a fist fight over who’s sword was better, the Buster sword of Cloud’s or Squall’s Gunblade. Two Rinoa dressed girls slapped one another over who was the best looking. A Tifa dressed girl nailed a rather perverted Tidus dressed man between the legs when he tried to cop a feel of her breasts. She had soon been joined by the man’s Yuna dressed girlfriend as the second girl threatened to use his head as a blitzball.
Up front Willow was eyeing a rather strange looking man, “What’s he want?” she mumbled only loud enough for her group to hear, “What is he, anyway?”
“Snake from Metal Gear.”
Cutting her eyes towards Kid, Willow blinked, “Is he suppose to look like that?”
“No, he’s hiding something…”
As the two girls spoke, the man dressed as Snake sauntered up to them, and ripped his over coat off, and spun in a circle. At that very moment, seven screams filled the air as Kid covered Miyuki’s eyes. The man was wearing nothing but a thong, and slipped his hand underneath the front, and began moaning as he rubbed himself. Two police officers hurried over and drug the man away while he screamed, “Snake is the best!”
A voice from the line shouted, “And Snake never jerked off in front of people either!” this caused a laugh from most of the people beside him.
“No, it was in a locker!” Another voice shouted, causing more laughter.
“That was in a game?” Tara asked, “I thought it was only in that Grand Theft Auto game.”
Buffy shook her head, “Don’t ask if you don’t wanna know.” and she really didn’t want to know.
“It was in the game, but he wasn’t really doing anything…just seemed like it… I think,” Kid shrugged, “I didn’t play that one.”
As the night wore on more and more arguments could be heard as well as more fights broke out. Officers began walking the long line of gamers, glaring at anyone who even looked as if they were about to hit someone. Up front, Faith was standing guard over her friends, and making sure no one tried anything. Kid had sat down and was currently holding Miyuki as the young girl slept. “Say, why did you bring her if you knew you’d be here all night?” Faith finally asked, shifting her eyes to the little Japanese girl.
Kid’s chest rose and fell as she chuckled, “This one gets what she wants. All she had to do was look at her mother, then at me, and say please. I don’t know how she does it, but even her older sisters aren’t immune to it.” With a sigh, she glanced at her watch, “The sun will be rising soon.”
“Yeah,” Faith nodded having looked at her own watch, “I can’t believe the night passed by so fast.” She glanced down the line, “Wait, yeah I can. When you have all these different gamers dressed as characters, and fighting…yeah, the night seemed to fly by.”
A loud yawn alerted Faith to Buffy’s awakening, “What time is it?” she yawned again as she stretched.
“Five thirty.”
“And what time are they going to be selling the tickets?” Dawn asked, having woken almost at the same time as her sister.
At that moment, everyone began waking up, feeling the morning approaching, even Miyuki woke and began speaking in Japanese. “Hai, hai…hai…” Kid nodded and took out a yellow cell phone with the Simpsons on it and began dialing, “Ohaiyo, Kairi, ogenki desu ka?”
As she spoke, Willow stood from her place and held her hand out, “C’mon, love, its almost time.” her grin could have lit up the entire town for a month, “And I can’t wait.” They all stood in line, waiting until they could finally get their hands on those tickets, and hoping it would be soon. Willow began shifting from one foot to the other as she stared at the doors, silently telling them to open, but it wasn’t working.
“Good news.” Kid stood from the ground, handing Miyuki the phone, “They’ll be selling the tickets at six.”
Amy and Dawn squealed as they jumped up and down, it was so close to the time, then they would finally have their tickets. “Wait,” Tara turned from the two teens, “how do you know?”
“Kairi told me. Her mother… well, its her family that actually talked them into holding a game expo here. Her father’s brother is head of Nintendo, and when one shows the others don’t wanna be outdone. So, they decided to come along too.” She smirked, “Actually, I think they have family in all the companies.”
“Ohaiyo Chase-chan, ogenki desu ka?” An older Japanese woman spoke as she approached.
“Ohaiyo Tamaki-san.” Kid grinned, and began speaking in Japanese once more as the others listened. As they watched, the older woman handed the girl a thick envelope, hugged her and hurried off towards the doors, “Well…now what was the point…”
“The point in what?” Willow asked, thinking she’d better begin understanding Japanese, who knows when she’d need it.
Turning, Kid, now known as Chase, shook her head, “She just gave me a bunch of special tickets. More like passes into the back where some of the best gamers will be having a competition. She said Kairi told her I was with some friends, we don’t have to buy the tickets now… would you take a gift? Kairi is holding the family’s tickets, even Miyuki’s, so I’ve got enough here for me and all of you, if you want.”
Never one to turn down something free, Faith stepped over, “Sure, if you don’t have anyone to give them to.”
“Nope, half my friends don’t play games, and my girlfriend gives me the oddest looks when I talk about games... Even though she’ll be coming with me, but yeah, they’re yours if you want them.”
Tara slowly reached out and took the envelope, “Thank you.” she said and heard Dawn and Amy squeal behind her. After that, the group, Chase and Miyuki went separate ways, all wishing the weekend would quickly get there.
Time passed at a snail’s pace, causing the girls to fidget more and more throughout each slow passing hour. Wednesday had passed by fast enough, the girls had been staring at their tickets, and giggling like a group of maniacs. Thursday had been when the time began to slow down, it seemed like only a minute would pass at each glance of the clock. But then Faith came up with an idea, all they needed to do was get Xander and Anya to help. Calling the two over, Faith laid out her plan, and everyone set to work.
Friday morning everyone had awoken at eight, and had groaned, really, eight in the morning?! That was just wrong. Once Joyce had left for work, the entire group was together, along with Xander and Anya. With their help, they finished Faith’s plans around two in the afternoon, and quickly headed out to buy some much needed things. At four in the afternoon, the group came back with several large boxes in Faith‘s truck. As the group unloaded everything and carried the boxes into the house, everyone disappeared into the basement -where Faith’s idea had come to see the light of day.
Another hour passed, and the group finally came upstairs to rest, and wait for Joyce to arrive. No one really wanted to cook, not after what they had done that day. Anya had taken Xander’s hand, said goodbye to the others, and pulled him out the door. And knowing the girl like they did, they knew what she planned to do, at least she had kept the remarks about sex to herself this time.
Now, as night slowly descended upon the city, everyone grew excited once more. The parents had grouped together in the living room, and would shake their heads at their children when they began taken notes on what games they wanted -if they won the systems.
Hurriedly standing, Faith ran up to her and Buffy’s room, grabbed a heavy box, and sprinted downstairs, “Let’s check these out.” she said, opening the box, and allowing her gaming magazines to see the light of day once more.
“Ohh!” Buffy squealed as she held up one of the newest issues of RPG, “Role Playing Game Monthly has a PS3 on the cover.” she drooled. The shiny black system was beautiful, touch sensors on front to eject the game, and the power switch on the front was also touch sensitive. The chrome on the front of the system shined brightly, causing the shorter blonde to drool even more, “I want this!” Buffy grinned, “What games are for it?!”
As Faith picked up another magazine, this one, 360 Rules, she glanced up, “Check inside, that issue has a lot of the PS3 games in it.”
Picking up Wii Monthly Issue One, Willow grinned, “Oh! Look at this!” She turned the magazine around to show off the Wii system, “Now, to see what games.” the redhead flipped it open, and with Tara at her side, began checking out all the games.
Dawn and Amy had picked up a magazine for the handhelds, PSP & Nintendo DS was printed on the cover.
As the girls drooled over the systems and their games, the clan of parents sighed, “I have a feeling we’ll never watch movies again.” Joyce spoke, and watched as the other parents nodded.
“Oh,” Faith waved her hand in the air as she continued to read, “we’ve got that fixed.”
“Excuse me?” Donald Maclay asked, somewhat confused, “What do you mean?”
Glancing up at her father, Tara grinned, “We have it all figured out.”
“Yep, sure do.” Willow kept her eyes glued to the magazine, “No need to worry.”
Ira stared at his daughter’s head, “Willow, my little tree, that worries us when you tell us not to worry.”
“No need,” Buffy shrugged, “Oh! I want this game! Look! Dragons! Hm,” she picked up a pen and began writing on a piece of paper, “Lair.”
Lori Maclay rolled her eyes, “Alright girls, tell us what you’ve done.”
Dawn glanced at Amy, they smirked and then cackled like a maniac, the other four joining in quickly, and really worrying their parents. Catherine Madison’s eyes went wide, “They’ve done something we’re not going to like.”
“Don’t worry mom,” Amy shrugged, then glanced around the group of girls, “Should we?”
With a nod from the others, Buffy giggled, “Go look in the basement… Oh! Backward compatible! Now we can buy PS2 games!”
“Same with the 360, it’ll play Xbox games.” Faith laughed and wrote down Halo on a sheet of paper as the clan of parents stood and headed towards the kitchen -ultimately heading down into the basement.
Willow laid her magazine down, and pointed to two games, “Look, Mario Party Eight, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl. I want those two.” She grinned.
“Well,” Tara flipped the page, “I want this one.” The blonde grinned as she held the magazine up for Willow to see ‘The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess’.
As the girls continued to write down games they wanted, a scream entered the room from the basement’s direction, “Seems Joyce-mom has seen what’s down there.” Faith never looked up, and continued flipping through the pages of her magazine, “Ohh, Perfect Dark Zero.” she wrote that down.
“Yup.” Buffy nodded as she wrote down another game, “Seems so. Hey Will, is there a Resident Evil Four in that Wii book?”
“Yeah, want it?”
“Sure do.” Buffy nodded, never taking her eyes of the preview of another game.
The thundering of footsteps racing up a set of stairs wafted into the room, “Here come our parents.” Tara spoke, still reading about Resident Evil Four, and had to wonder, just why did Buffy want a gory game?
“Think they’re mad?” Dawn asked as she and Amy continued to write down PSP and DS games.
Amy nodded, “Sure do.”
The parents thundered into the room, “What did you do?!” Joyce half screamed in shock, her eyes were still wide.
Mrs. Madison felt weak and hung on to Joyce to keep her from falling down, “W…what? How?!”
Ira rubbed a hand across his face, “Where did you girls get that!?” he half shouted, like Joyce, he was in shock, same as his wife and the Maclays.
In unison, the parents got their answer, “The store, where else?”
“Alright girls.” Lori spoke firmly, “I want you to tell us what you did, and just where did you get the money for all that!” Mrs. Maclay sighed as she thought back to what they’d seen in the basement.
-----
Joyce had opened the door, and led the other parents down the stairs. Everything looked the same from where she stood. The washer and dryer were in the same place as always, so, what was it the girls wanted them to see. “Oh, wow!” Mr. Maclay’s eyes nearly popped out of his head, along with Ira’s the moment he turned around, “When did you get that!?”
“What?” The oldest Summers turned around, her jaw hit the floor, soon joined by the other women.
The back of the basement had been completely redone. On the left stood a seven foot tall, seven foot wide shelf. On the right was a large couch, and on either end of that stood an end table. In the center of the floor sat six comfortable looking game chairs, each a different color. And sitting against the back wall was another large shelf, about two foot tall, and very long, but that’s not what the two men were staring at -for that matter, neither were the women. What caught everyone’s attention was the very large, seventy inch screen Plasma HDTV that was currently sitting on said two foot tall shelf.
Joyce screamed.
------
Shelia narrowed her eyes, “You didn’t bribe Giles, did you?”
All six girls looked offended as they gently laid their magazines down, stood up and faced their parents. “Giles is a very well off man, but to answer your question, no, we did not bribe him.” Willow spoke directly to her mother.
Buffy glanced around the group of parents and shrugged, “We’ve been working for Giles for a long time. Remember, when you all let us start doing things for him when we were seven? And remember you all thought it was a good idea.”
“Yeah,” Tara nodded, “you said it would teach us what working was about, and Mr. Giles cut us a deal.” she grinned.
“What deal?” Joyce asked, slowly approaching the couch, and sat down with the other parents following.
Faith took that time to retake her seat on the floor, and watched as the other girls nodded, “Well, Giles gathered us together and said that he would hire us to be his workers, off the books of course, child labor is a pain. Anyway, he said we would get paid seven dollars an hour for every hour we worked for him.”
“And we would work from the time school let out to seven in the evening, right?” Willow asked and saw the adults nod, “Well, add that up, seven dollars an hour times four hours, you get twenty eight dollars a day, right?” she paused for a moment, “Now, we would work all day Saturday, eight to nine hours, and seven hours on Sunday. So, we were making a little over nine hundred a month.”
The group of parents blinked as they began trying to add all that together, causing the girls to smirk, “Willow, sweetie, would you like to tell our parents what our accounts have in them?” Tara slipped her arm around the redhead.
With her smirk still on her lips, Willow cleared her throat, “Tara, Faith, Buffy and myself have been working for Giles now for thirteen years, from seven years old to twenty. Dawn and Amy have been working for him for nine years, seven years old to sixteen. Each of our bank accounts, that Giles set up for us, shows that the four of us,” she motioned to Tara, Buffy, Faith and herself, “as having one hundred fifty-two thousand eight hundred and eighty dollars. Dawn and Amy’s account has one hundred five thousand eight hundred and forty dollars.”
“That’s each.” Tara’s smirk grew bigger as the parents eyed them.
“Yep,” Buffy bounced on the floor, “we added it all together, and can you guess what we came out with?”
Amy squealed, “All of us together has, eight hundred twenty-three thousand two hundred dollars.”
Six young women watched as their parents fainted, “Was it something we did?” Dawn chuckled as she got up with the others, and helped move their parents into a more comfortable position.
As the girls waited for their parents to wake, they continued to write down the games they wanted, and had an entire page each when Joyce finally opened her eyes. “Oh my,” the eldest Summers some spoke as she rubbed the side of her head, “I don’t believe it.”
“That’s a lot of money!” Lori said, rising from the couch, “What are you girl going to do with it?”
“What I want to know,” Mrs. Madison spoke as she straightened up, “is why were we never told of this before?”
The two men nodded, “Well?” Ira asked eyeing the girls.
Amy shrugged, “Mr. Giles told us not to, and we knew if you knew about what we were making, you would make sure we never saw a dime until we were old enough.”
Lying the magazine down, Buffy smiled, “Sorry mom, but it’s true. All of you would have thought we weren’t old enough to have that money, and be responsible with it.”
“But look at what we’ve got.” Willow looked up, “We saved our money, really, we didn’t go out and blow it on things we didn’t need. When I saw the Gameboy, I wanted it, and knew I could get it without any problems…” She paused for a moment, “Well, it wasn’t that that was the problem, now was it?” The redhead smirked.
While the girls laughed, their parents continued to stare at them, shocked. Their daughters’ combined money made them nearly millionaires, that was a lot to take in. Sure, none of the families were hurting for money, far from it, the parents knew that each one made a yearly salary in the six figures… but, the girls having that much money? Could they really deal with that? Well, sure, okay, the girls had been responsible why would they suddenly change?
“What do you plan to do with all that money?” Mrs. Summers finally asked, rubbing a hand over her face before locking her eyes with the group of girls she loved.
Tara smiled, “College for one, then who knows. Not like we’re going to spend all of it in the next couple of days.”
“Tare’s right, mom.” Buffy nodded, “We’re going to continue to work, go to school, and who knows what else. But we’re not going to blow it. That’s a lot of money.”
Faith glanced over her adopted parents, and smiled, “Give us a moment.” the dark haired girl stood and left the room, motioning for the others to follow. A few minutes later they came back in with grins, “We’ve agreed. You can keep watch on our accounts, and since we never did tell you all about it, we will come to you and talk about any large amount of money we want to spend.”
“Like what?” Lori asked eyeing her daughter and adopted daughters.
Willow shrugged, “What if want a car? That’s a large amount of money. Or anything that requires an amount you set.”
“The system we bought today cost a little over ten thousand.” Dawn spoke, she and the others had agreed to disclose that amount.
At the shocked looks, Amy leaned against Dawn and smirked, “That’s the HDTV, surround sound system, game chairs, couch, and tables. Xander made the shelves for us, on the condition that he could come over and play the games, too.”
The clan of parents sighed as one, “You six are going to give me a stroke!” Donald Maclay laughed, “But tell you what, it’s your money, as long as you talk to us about anything over a thousand dollars we’ll call it even. A thousand is a small amount, but I don’t want to see you coming home with expensive jewelry and things like that, that’s asking for trouble.”
“Plus,” Mrs. Madison spoke, “a thousand dollars would be a good down payment on a motorcycle, and I say this only cause I love all of you, but I don’t want to see any one of you on one of those.”
Faith hid a smirk, leave it to Sunnydale’s biggest car dealer to know that, “Wouldn’t think of it.” She finally laughed.
“Well girls,” Shelia shook her head, still trying to get her mind around the fact they had that kind of money, “it’s late and I think we should turn in.”
“Okay,” the girls coursed in unison, kissed they’re parents and ran up the stairs.
“Guess they’re sleeping here tonight, but then again they have a big day tomorrow.” Joyce chuckled, and walked the others to the door, “I'll see you all in the morning, so we can watch the girls… well, wait on them to be more precise.” The parents laughed, tomorrow was going to be a long day. *Sigh*

Well, should I start writing the second chapter? >_> Anyway, hope you enjoyed reading it. ^_^
