Go taste it, you won't regret it!

Hi :wave

Thank you !! The mistery on the roof is finally cleared up. I like how Willow wasn't buying it at first. She kept coming back with questions. She can notice bows on a shirt slightly misplaced but she can't see Tara's love for her. :hmm

I loved that Willow was asking about Morgan. It really took Tara by surprise. Those were the same questions she was asking herself. Now if only Tara would say - "I don't like Morgan. She's not my type anymore. I really like smart women." - I guess a woman that likes to read is close enough. :buried

Things are finally coming back around. Now what are you going to do with Xander? Please Please Please clear that up.He's a nice guy who did nothing wrong and everyone is so angry with him. Some of the heat should come off him. Just alittle. :pray

Thanks again for the great story. I can't wait to see what happens next.:eatme

heather, very nice baby steps taken here. I especially like how tara seems to offer up her humiliation in part to assuage willow's own (i'll show you mine if you show me yours, kinda). also very nice that she sees relaxed willow and thinks "i did that" instead of "she's probably thinking about xander while i'm in the bathroom".great description "tinge of ribbing", sounds vaguely naughty. i'd forgotten about willow's halloween costume, the description of it +willow's hair had me thinking sprout from the jolly green giant, but maybe that's just me.

so what is tara reading in bed? c'mon, i know you know, 'cause you're thorough like that.

i did grab a couple of the thermals on i-tunes, 'cause how can you pass up a title like "let your earth quake baby"? :) haven't given them a proper listen yet, no missing the high energy, though. gave me a flashback to seeing the screaming blue messiahs when i was in college (there's a trip in the way-back machine).

very much looking forward to their week at home, and again, i don't think you can be commended enough for your update frequency. I can't recall any fic ever that matched your quality of content with such a prodigious output (o.k, that was like the most sterile sounding compliment ever, but you get it, right?) mary

I loved Tara being all proud that her joke got Willow to smile. Of course, her revelation that nothing of a romantic nature occurred on the roof was the real reason Willow eased out of her sulk.

Tara's answer to Willow's question as to why she wasn't dating Morgan was really well written. I'm sure Tara felt bad for not being able to be totally honest with Willow, and that's why she kept inserting the mental interjections.

It's interesting that you addressed Willow's reluctance to be the junior partner in a relationship at this early stage. It's typical of Willow, who is such an over-achiever, to want to suddenly be this confident out lesbian. Bless her, but our Willow can be a tad impatient at times!

Yay for cake

Postby wimpy0729 » Wed Nov 17, 2004 9:22 am

Heather, thank you for finally giving us a no-so-angst-idden update. Yay for the cake and the nice casual conversation. I liked how Tara said she didn't really like the uncomfortable date scenario, seeing how now, without really knowing it, they've already done it without any pressure on either one.

I'm so relieved that Tara explained the whole Morgan-roof thing. Loved the evil-trellis explanation and that it was more "awkward" and definitely not romantic. And Willow finally found out that Tara doesn't see Morgan as the perfect woman. But oh, how nice it would've been if Willow could have read her thoughts as to who her perfect woman would be.

I'm thinking Tara will soon catch on that Willow's rememberance of certain details means a lot more than just good memory.

The fairy lights moment was sweet. So now Willow is bringing out her old stuff, she must be feeling comfortable at being there, like it can be her space again, reflecting more of herself. Maybe feeling "homey"?

Again, great job, and thanks for this sweet update.

Man you update quicker than people can leave feedback, which is so remarkable. I mean, leaving feedback is just may be, a few dozen words and you go ahead and blow us totally away with your 5,500+ words. (Yes I'm a dork, I did a word count.)

Definitely moving slowly towards the inevitable. The story with the trellis and the bows goes a long way to relieve Willow of her misery, but she's definitely the one overthinking here. A whole internal monologue about the "coming out" plan. Some things in life are best if not planned to the last detail. Wouldn't telling someone you loved her rate higher on the priority scale than whether your best friend will be unhappy that she didn't know first? Buffy will get over it. But then that's our redhead and her quirkiness for you.

The way Tara described how Morgan was not the right one for her was just masterful. Her own thoughts about dating, going out with someone, liking someone who isn't you interspaced with her answers. And confident-in-her-sexuality Tara will never treat Willow as a junior partner in their relationship.

In a way, I want the angst to continue, am I a masochist? There's the whole 2 weeks of being at home together. Yum. I want to really see them come to terms with the fact that, yes, they are hopelessly in love, and have wasted so much time walking on eggshells around each other. It makes their final coming together that much more intense (but you're going to give us that, aren't you?).

It's delicious, it's addictive, it's just this side of teeth-gratingly frustrating without being annoying.

Thank you.

*squeals* Yeeaaay!! :lol This update seriously made me giddy haha. It seems as if the girls are just movin on forward in the right direction.

Tara telling Willow about Morgan.. it sucks, though, that Tara was still saying things about Morgan that made it seem like she still had a chance, or that Tara was going to give her a chance, you know? Too bad she wasn't like.. "Oh Morgan.. No, I don't like her, there's no way I'll ever get with her, don't worry about that." kind of a thing...

And yay for Willow still being sure about coming out! Damn her and her one-week plan. Just dooo iiiiiit! haha. Oh and of course had to like the whole "Morgan be damned" bit. :p

Last but not least.. the good-bye at the apt. It was a good one! This time it was Willow who made the effort to go and knock on Tara's door and say Thank you and goodnight. :D And Tara's been right the entire time.. Adorable ;) .

Also, the whole idea of Willow being comfortable enough to start unpacking.. YAY! Only goodness can come from that!

So maybe the angstyness will be done with, and we can finally focus on moving forward!! :D

Can't wait to read more!!

It’s nice to see Willow a little better, see the girls closer and Tara having “that effect on her”… A sweet, nice, beautiful update. I was smiling all the time (well, I didn’t smile when the redhead mentioned Xander while Tara was talking about her ideal woman. Wrong move, Willow, where are your social skills? Yeah, I know, I left my own skills in the same place). I just loved that part, when Tara is talking about why she wasn’t dating Morgan (you resolved the roof mystery! It was killing me), all that thinking parts, all that “you”, “you”, “you”… I was asking myself: Why doesn’t she say one of these “you” really loud? Soon?:D

Well that was a happy, yup happy I say, update. :applause

OMG, your "tiramisu" comments in your notes were too funny as was the "roof incident" story. :rofl

I couldn't even fathom how you were going to deal with the bow tying. Wonderfully done!

It was so nice to have them a bit more relaxed and talking. Interesting how Tara responded to questions about Morgan, I think Willow ought to feel better about that situation. As far as waiting a week to come out, I see where Willow is coming from just as long as there are no distractions for Tara (other than home alone with Willow). Hee-hee. :D Maybe this "first storm of the year" will put the power out and they'll have to stay close together for warmth. I can hope can't I? :D

OMG, Heather, you're on a roll!!! I can't keep up with the feedback! ;)

I have a question: is this story going to end with W & T finally getting together (like "School Days")? Because if so, do continue taking things excruciatingly slow and we'll see how much more us readers can take :p

I'm glad Willow finally confronted Tara about Morgan, it was about time! And bravo Tara for being so persistent! :peace

I don't really understand why Willow absolutely wants to come out to Buffy before she comes out to Tara... I mean, she could tell Tara not to say anything to Buffy, that she wants to tell her herself... But hey, Willow has a complicated mind, so that makes sense LOL

Wonderful update....I just love it when people talk:) Them thinking that the other is just adorable. is.....adorable :lol :lol :lol I just think it's really cute:)

I simply loved the whole paragraph that starts with "Tara nodded and said, "yeah, I mean..." "....:) And now Willow knows that ...heh.. Tara's ideal woman changed....why couldn't Tara say "Oh...my ideal woman? If she's not redhead, reads books, works for SutterSoft and lives in my apartment, then she's not my ideal woman".....*sighs....I still can dream no? :P

Hm..you know what's interesting? In the last 2-3 updates Tara always stutters.....why Willow didn't say anything about it? heh...just me...:blush

I forgot to address this part of your response from a few days ago:

Quote:
especially re: your words on the Kitten board rules. That was a major thing for me, to keep it all legit (hope to keep all Oz/Jill ruminations/conversations legit as well, however that seems to be a gray area, talking/thinking about past relationships - do you know how that works haha rule wise?

I'm not 100% sure about the rules. I know that you can't describe anything in detail or as if it were present (like dreams or flashbacks, etc.). But if facts are facts, I believe that you can state them as such (ex. Willow and Oz DID have sex during their relationship). By the same token, I'd imagine that you can say what Jill and Tara did and did not do. But I'm never sure. Honestly, when I've had questions, I write the part and then send it off to a moderator and make sure it's ok before posting it. It slows down the posting schedule somewhat but makes sure you are legal.

Quote:
So sad School Days is over, but you did an absolutely brilliant job with it (if I could figure out how to do the HTML for linking I definitely would link up to the story because I think everyone should read it)
Thanks so much. The linking is actually very easy. You just go to the story you want to link and copy the url. Then in your reply/post, you type along and click the link button. It asks for the address and you paste the url, then it asks for the name of the link and you type the words you want linked (like: School Days or whatever). That easy.

I'm so glad Tara persists. She's trying to understand she can change Willow's mood and affect the way she feels which is huge.

And Willow is starting to "start" her life, decorating again and hopefully coming out soon.. !

Great update again, thank you!

Postby astrangerhere » Wed Nov 17, 2004 9:25 pm

Heather-

Well, you promised me an upswing, and what a swing it was. The way you wrote this part...the little moments, they are what make the story. There is so much in these little moments that I am so unused to seeing in many stories. The little, well thought out details, right down to what was in the cake. The fairy lights. The fuzzy pillow. Somehow I get the impression that Willow will not be looking at lofts again anytime soon. Good work, and looking forward to more!

Re: Wonderful!

Postby Kajun » Wed Nov 17, 2004 10:05 pm

It seems, to me anyway, Tara is not so much “straddling the fence” now. She made it perfectly clear that time spent on the roof with the brunette was *not* romantic. Maybe Anya’s food for thought is subtly at work in the blonde’s subconscious? Actually, when you’re making out with someone, I would think, it wouldn’t be necessary to scoot close to a heat lamp to get warm. If Willow thought about it she might realize the blond turned to an electrical appliance for warmth as opposed to the “perfect” potential girlfriend. Now my brain just went to a strange place. Oops. Anyway..

I love that Willow gets Tara’s jokes and that she felt comfortable, and confident, enough to press Tara for answers. Great answers btw. The girls are once again communicating and understanding each other. That is so important, not only for a romantic relationship, but for true friendships as well. Tara’s inserted thoughts of “isn’t you” were so adorable. I noticed that when you write Tara’s thoughts, a lot of the time, she stutters. I don't know very much about speech impediments so.. I was wondering if people who stutter.. well, I guess they probably would stutter in thought because it’s like saying the words only in your head instead of out loud so.. ??

Wannablessedbe, Wilderness 1&2, Tales of the Slayer, Four Letter Worlds, Astray.. AHEM. ;)

Okay, I totally get Willow’s plan now, thanks. And I agree with it completely even though I really want smoochies like.. right now. Tara understood that *she* put the smile on Willow’s face; another moment for her to be proud of, and clear indicator to Tara that she is moving in the right direction with Willow. When will they realize they share so much common ground: jokes, food preferences, atmosphere created by fairy lights etc..? And that they are building a solid and lasting relationship without the dreaded “date scenario”? Tara is going to be pleasantly surprised the next time she opens Willow’s door. Yah! Maybe Willow should sweet talk Tara out of one of her paintings.. :heart

This was a delicious piece of cake. Needed, wanted, very much appreciated.. Thank you!

Kajun

Question - Did you ever go into detail about the incident in the park 3 years ago? I keep reading little bits about it ... so I went back and read the beginning over, and I still see nothing about it.

I'm in love with this story, by the way. I just love the way you write it. The way you describe San Francisco ... I've never been there, but I can practically see it. And your character development is amazing. It's crazy how well you know these characters being that you update nearly every day. Very impressive. Mmmmmm, that was a delicious update!

Tara is just too good to be true with the openess and all--so sweet! I guess we all know why Willow has been holding back for so long. She's thinking it clearly through it seems now. I gotta give her that much credit!

OK, maybe she wont spill on the gay information, but maybe she'll reveal that Xander is just a friend to Tara at least?! Hmmmmmmm Heather?:wink
