It was so sweet and romantic with the lights and the bed and the soft music........why didn't she just do it, lean over and kiss her. This update was just beautiful! I could really feel the atmosphere, cozy inside while it stormed away outside. Finally, it seems that the girls' hearts are leading them closer to each other, even if their minds are still hesitant. I love the way they are becoming more comfortable with each other, doing domestic things together, joking and teasing a bit, and above all being very kind and caring with each other.....building a nice foundation of friendship for what we hope will come later. As usual, your portrayal of these beloved characters, in an AU setting no less, is just phenomenal. *contented sigh* I just love reading this story!

The interaction between W/T was fantastic... I loved being in the room with them while hanging the fairy lights... you should know this, you took me there . The descriptive word that keeps coming to mind is gentleness... their treatment of each other wow...no other word covers it. This was all very sweet... in a want to say aww, my breath catches just from being near you, God could you be anymore beautiful kind of way .

I haven't had time to visit the Pens in a while, which is a bad thing, but at least I return to an enormous stack of your updates.



I'm so sorry to hear about your father, especially coming in the middle of the holidays. I'm with everyone else...take care of yourself and your father first, fic second. Also, kudos for working such long hours for such a good cause. You rock in so many ways.



I'm going to keep the comments to a minimum since I run the risk of writing a fic-length piece of feedback. I will say two things about previous updates: 1. I'm not so angry with Morgan. She's honest and interested and she's very well drawn for such a 'minor' character. It's a nice contrast with Willow who isn't being so honest,which brings me to 2. Xander. I enjoy his supportive role here, but he is acting as a bit of an enabler for Willow's tendency to procrastinate and overcomplicate (her arbitrary need to speak to her mother and Buffy before Tara). Of course, it does create a nice set of obstacles to elongate the arc and increase the Kitten torture factor.



As always, your attention to detail and world-building is so complete. And it's not just the details, it's the texture, the way you weave it all in together. Building on details (the fairy lights) and referring to ever more complex backstory -- the Halloween party and, of course, that moment in the park. And your dialogue is just inspired and absolutely spot on from Paddington bear to Tiny Jewish Santa.



The introduction of playlists was brilliant as well. It's such a Willow thing to do to organize her 10,000 song library and such an intimate thing (Tara's playlist is all love songs) and reinforces one of the wonderful themes you've got going in this, that Willow's computer work is highly emotional and personal for her. She loves what she does and it comes through in the details you get so right.



I must admit that I love the tone of this update and the others like it. It's so bittersweet, both of them longing and worried, but hopeful. I know we have Buffy and Sheila to deal with, but I can't help hoping that Willow and Tara get trapped in the apartment for at least a few weeks until the weather clears.

about the update: this one's so sweet! especially where Tara catches Willow with her very own playlist, and the teasing that ensued. it was a burst out laughing moment with "Figure you kinda, owe me, since you stuck me with that tack and all...". Tara blackmail! and then oh... that leaning in all the time...sheesh. i think you were trying to kill us.

Sorry to hear about your dad, hope he gets well soonish. Having to travel long-distance to your parents can't be easy in such cases, so look after yourself as well will you ? If writing makes you feel better I'm all for more updates... we'll be here faithfully waiting for updates though, no pressure (just finish the story before say june-2005? ).



About the update; it was very sweet, that is the best word I can find for it. The Paddington discussion was cute, it would be typical of Willow at least to want to know her facts. Nice that Tara appearantly shares her taste of comics, I sense some shared TV-time coming on .



I also loved how Willow actually calculated how much space they need between place-holders on the wall. I was a bit surprised that Tara just pushed those holders in though, can't do that over here in my home... concrete and such .



The kitten question was cute but I have to wonder why Willow remembers so much about that Day In The Park, in such detail too.



"She had to pick one of the songs that's also on the Tara list".. Willow should be glad about that. Means her Tara playlist is perfectly correct .



Tara leaning back when Willow picked up her cd's was kinda odd. We know she wouldn't mind being kissed by Willow, yet she does move away by reflex ?? Odd, she'll probably think about that some more.



I like the fact that Willow's room is now more cosy, with the nice fluffy dog. That the same dog as she had in season4 (e.g. on the bed when she came-out to Buffy, that one) ?



Oh yeah, bonus points for NOT letting the chair breakdown and both of them tumble over each other onto the bed. (for some reason I think lotsa kittens might disagree there... heh)

Whenever I've read your posts in the past, the angst has always been, well, extremely angsty. But, I've realized something...it all eventually falls into place. I think the main reason I love your fic so much is the fact that you write so realistically. As much as I hate the angst and the heartache, this really does happen. All relationships take time and some just take that much longer. And yet, those relationships sometimes end up being the most enduring and sweet. You know that if you've worked that hard for something, that it isn't just a fleeting whim of passion. It's something deeper and lasting. This past update was so well written and we all know that Tara and Willow will soon get together. And I'll be so happy when that happens. The update was really sweet. It seems at times they are pretty comfortable with one another, well until one of them goes into think mode and over analyzes the situation. The two of them laying on the bed with just the fairy lights was so romantic. And Willow got a hug, yippee!

This update was WOW ! I couldn't believe the tension in that room ( sexual tension that is). The flirting, the slip ( when Tara said "Adorable"), the nervous Willow pucturing Tara's hand. It was all so sweet. I really like the last part when Willow was thinking about kissing her and Tara thinking the same thing. Willow reaching for the CD's and Tara mistakingly moving away, it was just so realistic. I could see the same thing happening to myself in that situation. Maybe because I am going through a simular situation except Tara and Willow are moving alot faster than I am. I think I read this whole update holding my breath. The whole atmosphere in the room was amazing. I could really picture the room with the lights. Great update!

And the update... I'm absolutely blown away as usual. Three things nearly killed me during this chapter...

1. Adorable- I was all OMG! I figured they could maybe build off that.. so I think it was a VERY good thing

2. The cd list- I think if Tara is smart enough, she'll kinda get an inkling that it may be something really personal.. and thoughtful.. and maybe the reason Willow didn't want to show it to her is because it was filled with embarrassing love songs. *sigh* yeah ok, how could she really know that.. I know.. Just a hope. Also.. Willow said she'll show Tara next week... hinting that systems are still go with the coming out Also VERY good.

3. and Oh man. Tara pulling AWAY from the what she thought could have been a kiss. I was like NO! That is SO uberly NOT good. Willow is just gonna analyze over that.. she's gonna remember that Tara pulled away when she thought she might have kissed her.. and that's gonna bring her spiraling down again.. that's what would happen to me at least if I was in Willow's position. Although the hug at the end was totally sweet and just made me go *squeal*! Still.. I guess we'll just have to wait and find out!
